## Summary

This video explains the role and usage of gnomes in the game 'Grow a Garden 2'. They are aggressive, protective garden ornaments that can be purchased from the gear shop for 100,000 shekels. The guide covers their cost, behavior, and best practices for deployment.

### Key Points

- **Introduction to Gnomes** [0:00] — Gnomes are described as evil, red-eyed little creatures at the gear stall in 'Grow a Garden 2'.
- **Cost and Rarity** [0:12] — Gnomes are sold in the gear shop (blue and white striped canopy, run by George) for 100,000 shekels and are of epic rarity. They are often out of stock but can be bought in multiples when available.
- **Gnome Behavior** [0:39] — Gnomes patrol the garden, attacking anyone who enters, even during the day. They can also climb to chase thieves who try to escape via bamboo or mushrooms.
- **Duration and Usage** [1:16] — Gnomes last only 10 minutes. Since a night cycle is 2 minutes, they provide coverage if you leave your garden unattended. They are costly and should be saved for when players are actively trying to steal.
- **Additional Defense Options** [1:48] — The video mentions that gnomes are not the only defense; it directs viewers to a wiki guide for other pets and combos.

## Transcript

Have you seen the redeyed little gnomes
at the gear stall in Grow a Garden, too?
Well, if you're wondering, they are as
evil as they look and determined to
cause destruction and take down anyone
who tries to steal your crops. In this
quick guide, we'll break down how much
they cost, how to get them, what they
do, and how to best use them. Gnomes are
sold in the gear shop, the one with the
blue and white striped canopy in the
center that's run by George. They cost
100,000 shekels and are epic rarity. So
unfortunately they are often not in
stock. But when they are, there are
usually multiple available at once. So
if you have the funds, you can stock up
on these aggressive garden ornaments. A
gnome is there to protect your garden,
and it takes that job very seriously.
When you place a gnome down, it will
patrol around sternly with its angry
little eyes laser focused on anyone who
tries to mess with your crops. If anyone
dares to enter your garden, it will slap
them around. It doesn't even need to be
night for them to attack. A gnome will
kick out about anyone who enters your
garden, even during the day. And guess
what? They also climb. So, if a thief
tries to climb up a bamboo or mushroom
to get away from you, that little gnome
is going to climb and track them down
every single time. Gnomes last just 10
minutes, though. While a gnome is a
fantastic guard, be aware that they do
run out. Since a night cycle only lasts
2 minutes, they'll at least have you
covered if you leave your garden
unlocked and unattended. Since gnomes
are not permanent additions to your
garden and are pretty costly, I'd wait
until players are sniffing around before
placing them down. Sometimes you'll be
in a server where people leave you alone
entirely, especially if you got some of
the more basic craps, so don't waste
your gnomes.
That's gnomes covered, but they're not
the only type of defense you can get in
Grow a Garden, too. Looking for extra
defense? Then head on over to our wiki
guide where you can find recommendations
of the best pets, including a tier list
and suggestions for pet combos, such as
the defensive duo that you can use
alongside gnomes to stop thieves in
their tracks.
