[00:00] This simple gold trading strategy passed the Proprom Challenge in three months when I backtested it from November 2025 until the end of January 2026. In just three months, 40 plus trades, and a 48% win rate in the data set that I tested, this strategy intrigued me on how it would perform over 100 trades. [00:24] So after hours of backtesting, I finally finished. and I want to share the results with you. I'm going to quickly take two minutes to give a synopsis on our Prop Room Challenge backtest before we jump into the results of the 100 trade backtest [00:40] and then I am also going to combine the two backtests to give you a final backtest of 146 trades so that we can see the combined results of our two backtesting sessions. So we backtested [00:54] gold using Ransom FX's one candle Fibonacci trading strategy. We risked a half percent per trade and gained 15% to pass both phases in the prop room challenge. You can see the beautiful [01:07] upward trajectory on the equity curve. We had a 48% win rate, 46 trades, 22 winners, 24 losers. Our max drawdown was under 3% which is absolutely fantastic and the most losses that we had [01:24] in a row were 5. Over here on FX Replay on the RR Simulator for the Prop Firm Strategy Back Test, we saw that a 1 RR had a 72% win rate with a profit of $2,000 and the win rate [01:40] that would have yielded the most profit in a 4 RR. But now, for the main event, the reason that you're here today the 100 trade back test first let's come over to edge finder where we [01:55] can view our detailed breakdown of this back test and then we'll head over to fx replayable we'll go over the rr simulator and here is our 100 trade back test we had a 41 win rate a 1.74 profit factor [02:11] and gained 21.75% profit and this is risking only half a percent if you were risking one percent this would be what 43 if i not mistaken risking half a percent our max drawdown was 700 which is 7 which would be 14 if we were risking 1 You can see here 100 total trades and you can see the equity curve right here [02:36] Let me make it a little prettier. And here you can see the equity curve, nice upward trajectory. We did have, we'll talk about this, but March was absolutely horrendous. and it brought us down almost wiping out all of our profits right before we bounced back [02:52] and started going towards that upward trajectory again. So here we have 41 total winners, 59 total losers. The max losses in a row were 14, guys. [03:06] Could you imagine losing 14 trades in a row? That's where that 7% drawdown comes in, risking a half a percent. Yeah, 14 losses in a row. I think a lot of people would have just thrown this strategy away. [03:21] But you can see that it did bounce back and it just started going right up, recovering all of the losses and more. Our performance calendar, you can see. [03:33] I won't bore you with this, but January was bad. Here you can see March. March was absolutely horrendous. Only three winning trades. April wasn't too bad. May was great. June was absolutely fantastic and July was not bad. Our daily performance breakdown [03:50] you can see here broken down by days. Our best performing day days looks like it was Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. One thing I will say is Sunday was absolutely terrible. I don't know why [04:02] I don't have it showing here but I might change that but once Friday closes and then Sunday reopens I've seen so many losses come from that so if you just don't trade [04:14] Sunday I feel like these results would be a lot better and you can see our session performance breakdown here looks like New York was the worst performing Asia gained us the most amount of money now this is what session the trade [04:29] triggered in here you can see our trade log there were a hundred trades again I I will go ahead and I will download the PDF trade log here for you guys so that you're able to get it down [04:41] in the description. It just basically goes over every single trade. You can see here it gives you the performance summary and it goes through every single trade. As you can see here we had our previous day high here We drew off Fibonacci set our buy stop right at that previous day high and you can see we were stopped out here next trade was a win you can see that we had the previous day low here we [05:03] drew our Fibonacci like we always do from the top to the bottom we set our sell stop limit at the previous day low and you can see that this one was a winner and all 100 trades are here guys [05:15] absolutely fantastic can't tell you anybody else who is doing that and here we are on FXreplay you can see the equity curve here again you can see twenty-two percent gain of course this is risking a half a percent the win rate [05:31] was 41 percent here you can see the total winners the total losers max consecutive losses were 14 that was in the month of March but what we really [05:43] came over here for is to view the RR simulator where we are able to see how other RRs or risk of rewards ratios would have stacked up using this [05:55] strategy. Here you can see a 1 RR would have had a 62% win rate with a profit of $2,300 which is about 23% which is not bad and this is of course risking 1% [06:08] here the drawdown there would have been two percent a one and a half risk to reward nothing special about that what does intrigue me though is that we were targeting a 2.5 r but it looks like a [06:21] 2 r r would have given us a 45 win rate which is a lot nicer and a 36 gain on the account which is quite nice but it looks like the most profit would have come by risking five percent but that would [06:35] given us a whopping 28% win rate which is absolutely terrible but of course you can see that the profit is quite nice the profit factor is just under 2 the [06:47] highest profit factor here is 2 which is a 4 risk to reward ratio but only a 33% win rate so in my honest opinion it's not really worth it but it does look [06:59] practice 2 RR is quite nice. A 1 RR with a 62% win rate is also quite nice. But you guys let me know in the comments what you think the best RR would be and which one that you would prefer using [07:14] when you trade this strategy And as promised here is the combined data of 146 trades which combines the two back tests that I performed The first one to see if we could pass a profit from challenge and the second one being the 100 trade back test we have 146 trades [07:32] performed here and you can see that we had a net profit of 37 percent this is risking a half percent guys so this would be what 74.5 percent if we were risking one percent the max drawdown is seven [07:46] percent still risking a 0.5 percent if we were risking one percent this would be 14 percent max drawdown you can see that the win rate has gone up to 43 percent the profit factor is still hovering [08:00] around two which is fantastic and you can see this beautiful upward trajectory on the equity curve uh minus this march this march here you can see that we had 63 winners 83 losses five wins in a [08:16] row but of course that's 14 losses in a row which will probably scare a lot of people away but you can see the equity curve guys so over a long period of time this strategy is definitely profitable [08:28] and I highly suggest you giving it a try but guys that's basically it for this strategy again to recap we gained 20 almost 22 percent on the account risking a half a percent which would [08:40] been a 44% if we were risking 1%. Our win rate was a 41%, profit factor was just under a 2, which is great. Max drawdown was 7%, which is $700 on the $10,000 account. So that threshold [08:57] is right below the platform minimum. You can see we tested 100 trades. Average win was $125. five dollars and you can see winners were 41 losers were 59 most losses in a row was 14 that [09:11] is the only bad thing about this strategy but other than that it did see consistent profits now that we actually see how this strategy performs and how well it does considering the simplicity of this trading strategy how interested would you guys to be for me to purchase a prop [09:27] firm challenge and to use this strategy specifically to see how well it would do in real time. If that's something that you would like to see, let me know in the comments along with any suggestions that you have in order for me to make these videos better for you guys. [09:45] My goal is for us to find a mechanical trading strategy that is proven to work, is simple, and anybody can follow.
