[00:14] Joining me today is Chris the Analyst Ventra. Today we have a great show for you guys. We're going to go over a beginner's guide on how to use DraftKings baby. Let's do it. Chris tell everyone what they're looking at on the screen here on DraftKings.
[00:30] All right guys, so when you first join DraftKings, you're a beginner, you're new to the site. This is the main lobby. This is where you're going to see at the top there, you got all the different things you
[00:43] can choose. You have all the different sports you can choose as you can see Matt's going over. You know, you got MLB, you got NFL, soccer, golf, you know, Canadian football, you've got NASCAR, MMA, and obviously NBA and NHL are grayed out because those sports aren't
[00:59] You also have esports, video games, we love video games. Love it. League of Legends, baby. League of Legends, there's going to be a lot more coming out with that too. But this is what you want to see first, you want to obviously decide which sport you want to play.
[01:15] And Houston, what's the first thing you're going to do when you go into the site now? Alright, so the first thing you guys are going to want to do when getting on a DFS site by drafting, You want to go over the contest rules.
[01:30] This is very important to know. This is a very important thing. You've got to know the rules. You've got to know what your players are getting points for. You've got to know about the salary cap, the roster requirements.
[01:42] You have to know all these things. And for each individual sport, there's different rules. So MLB, NFL, you know, they have different roster requirements, different salaries on some of them.
[01:54] So these are things that you have to know before you actually get into creating your lineups. We're not going to go in-depth on the scoring system because there's a lot of stuff there. But this is the first page you really want to get to and really know before making your fantasy lineups.
[02:12] Plus, we know a lot of you guys out there are going to play probably one or two different sports. You know, you're not going to play all the different sports. So you just don't want to know your specific sports. And you know, obviously we're going to have more advanced videos and things like that to tell you.
[02:26] Yeah, so we're not going to go over draft gaming and really how to use the site. Right. Let's go back to the lobby. And Chris, let's go over some of the different game types or contest types that the draft games have to offer.
[02:38] Yeah, absolutely. So when you go down here, let's say we're clicking NFL, right? Obviously, if you click a different sport, you're going to have the games, the slate of games that are coming up, the different content, and the different, I guess, game types you can play with different
[02:55] contents on them as well. So we'll do that stuff now. And you got, as you see, Matt's going over that sidebar there. You got featured ones, which are usually the good buy-ins, the most people, the highest prize pools.
[03:07] You got tournaments. You got head-to-head, 50-50s and double-ups, multipliers, and satellites. Now, basically, this is broken up into two types of games. You got cash games and you got tournaments. Cash games, matches, heads up, head to head.
[03:24] It's you versus another individual. Obviously you can play as many as you want. As you see here, there's a little bit of buying, pride pool, etc. But it's always going to be you versus another individual. So you got a 50% chance to win.
[03:37] I'm going to click on the available conference here for the $3. And basically these are all the players that are waiting to play Heads Up. You see this guy's waiting to play 7, this guy's waiting to play 50.
[03:49] So, you know, this is basically showing you who's waiting for a game. Now, if you wanted to play this guy, you could click play. It'll bring you right up to the lineup page. We'll go over this a little bit later, but it's that simple to get into the action playing.
[04:02] Right, you get right into the action. Now, also, it's not here on the left hand because this isn't a beginner account, but they do have beginner tournaments. and the beginner tournaments are tournaments that you guys should focus on at the beginning.
[04:15] Basically, anyone who's played under X amount of games, I think it's 500, you're in a beginner's bracket. 500 contests. Yeah, 500 contests. Yeah. So, I mean, you know, because obviously, you know, this is my account, so I don't have that beginner tab anymore.
[04:30] But you'll see when you first sign up for DraftKings, click that tab. We really suggest using that as a resource. You know, there's different types of, you know, tickets you can get to other bigger tournaments. There's usually five max entries on those beginner tournaments.
[04:45] You can make a bunch of teams without too much money and have a good team. It's basically anyone who's new to the game. You're not playing the guys who have been playing for years and years. It's anyone new to daily fantasy sports.
[04:58] So that's definitely something I would focus on if you're a beginner in DFS. Also, another great feature that we love is you can create your own contest on DraftKings.
[05:10] and it's rather simple. You click create contest you have all your sports here. We're going to go to the stocker and as you see here they have the World Cup, the games place. These are different games place at different times
[05:23] so each of them have different games that are available in there so we going to go to World Cup Ball of Fire for tomorrow now you have two different options You can choose can choose head or you can choose multiplayer We going to do multiplayer just for the
[05:38] fun of it, and you can either do public or private. Public means it goes right up onto the list of tournaments that are on 3F Games Lobby, and anyone can join up. It could be a free game, you can make it for money value, anything you like. Private games are just
[05:54] you and your friends, anyone you can fight to the game, they could play virtually. We'll go to public. I think there's also a limit on the amount of people you can do for each, too. Yeah. If everyone goes up to 200, the private is, what, 50?
[06:07] I think it is 50, yep. Oh, it's 200 as well. 200 on each one. Oh, that's multiple. Head to head, I think. Yeah, that's 50. Right? Okay. So we're going to make a 200-person tournament. We're not going to put a money value on it, and it's going to be free.
[06:21] Right, you can make a prize structure. and then you create the contest. Boom. Go directly to the lineup. And it brings you right there and you can make a lineup for that contest right here. And other people can actually join. Very simple. Great feature.
[06:33] I mean, it's a lot of fun. You can invite your friends. Greg and Ryan, just to beat your friends up a little bit. Practice. Yep. Give me the practice. It's great. It's great. You know, it's very easy to use Lobby.
[06:45] You can enter tournaments right from here. You can also create your lineups right from the stage. So we're going to go create a lineup, and it's going to bring you to the lineup page.
[06:57] What lineup do you want to create? What sport? Let's do NFL. We want to do NFL. As soon as the NFL is coming up, we'll do the 13 games. Sleep. Continue. Now, this is the lineup page. This is daily NFC sports right here.
[07:12] Right, Chris? Yeah, and obviously, you know, right now they're showing an NFL lineup. For draft teams, it obviously consists of a quarterback, two running backs, through receivers, tight end, flex, and defense. You know, to soccer, you're going to have, you know, the other positions,
[07:26] one goalkeeper, two defenders, two midfielders, et cetera. So each sport's going to have their own individual roster. And they have the scoring system right here on the page. Yeah, you can just click it there. So if you forgot about something or are not sure of something, it's all here for you.
[07:41] Now, let's go make a simple team. Oh, let's go with a business salary. You can't just go click every guy who's high priced because you're going to go over that salary.
[07:53] And I don't think everybody would do that. I'll show you how it works when you stack. Absolutely. Stack team. So now it would be unfair. Boom. It's over the remaining salary.
[08:05] So I can actually create this lineup. So let's X out all these guys, make an actual lineup that we can use. And that's the strategy behind the whole thing. Yep. Yeah, this is basically the average remaining for your players. This is everything. This is DFS in its whole.
[08:21] Let's make a quick team, Chris. You like Aaron Rodgers? Sure. Sure, of course you like Aaron Rodgers. I got it. Alright, I'm going to make this quickly for you guys. Move on. Any players.
[08:35] Doesn't matter. I'm almost over the tower now. I've got to go way down. There you go. Way down. We're at a low tight end. Probably someone not playing. Oh we got some room here. Alright, so that's the team. So we actually created a line up that we can actually use in DFS.
[08:55] Great line up Bob. Now we also have other line ups. Chris has made some line ups already. So this line up comes into this page. And you can look at all your line ups that you created directly here. Now we haven't entered any of these tournaments into actual tournaments.
[09:11] So we're going to show you how to do that now. So basically, you can click on any lineup you want, right? You have a join contact. Now, we're going to load this lineup, and it's going to bring you to another page.
[09:26] And boom, that lineup, you can enter in bulk. Yeah. Through a bunch of different conferences, you can get bulk enter. How many lineups? Where to enter it? So we can enter into a $5 tournament, another $5 tournament.
[09:38] tournament so you could spread this team out across almost every tournament if you like. So it's very, very easy to add tournaments. So we're just going to add them into one. Let's see, what do we want to play?
[09:50] Want to play the big boy? Want to play the big one million for first? Maybe not with this team. But it's alright, we'll enter it. Boom, we're in the tournament. It's that simple.
[10:02] It really is. It's really easy to make lineups. It's really easy to enter into the tournament. it's a lot of fun yeah it's a lot of fun let's go back to the line up stage we're not going to go into the upload line ups
[10:14] or edit the entries because that's yeah that's more for the advanced users you know those are that's for people who are trying to make hundreds and hundreds of teams yeah you can add well editing uploading the line ups
[10:26] is where you can you know pretty much make a bunch of different guys build around one guy make teams around that yeah it's more for advanced users people make hundreds and thousands of line ups Editing the entries is just pretty basic. That's what I meant. Editing the entries is just editing whatever entry you want.
[10:42] You can flop guys in and out. Pretty simple. Click edit. Boom, right here. Flop them guys in and out. Flash changes if you want to. If we don't want Friar in the lineup, we want to go and we want to get someone else Friar.
[10:55] I think that would be nice. Yeah, absolutely. Friar is nice. Let put Friar back in Where is he But we just showing We just showing you Yeah it really that simple And when we go back to the lobby I want to just get back to
[11:14] before you go to Global Swap, I want you to tell me a little bit about Global Swap first, and then we'll get back to the lobby. I want to tell you a little bit more about the cash games. Now, Global Swap is a feature that's amazing.
[11:26] Yeah, this is awesome. So basically, the model swap is, say someone gets injured last minute, and you have 500 teams going. Now, how are you going to go through 500 teams and maybe 50 of them have a guy who's not playing?
[11:40] That's going to take a lot of time. You only got 10 minutes. So what they did was, say we have a guy right now who's actually on injury reserve, so he's definitely not playing. But we do have him in a lineup. What you do is you click on that guy.
[11:53] now everyone that you could put in for that guy will now appear on the available players list and you can now gallery etc so say we want to
[12:05] put in Dwayne Allen ok now every single lineup we have Benjamin Watson is now going to be switched to Dwayne Allen right now be careful though so if you have a lineup
[12:18] that has say already four Indianapolis players you're not allowed to put Dwayne Allen on that team. So you have to make sure that when you do this again, Benjamin Watson is not there
[12:30] and that he was taken out of every lineup. If not, they'll still be on my drafted players list and you have to choose someone else other than Dwayne Allen. Maybe Kyle Rudolph, Jordan Cameron, whoever. So just make sure when you get back to that four players on the team.
[12:44] So make sure that those guys are definitely out even after you do the bowl swap. Maybe even fit a criteria of one of the teams. So just be careful with that, guys. Right, right, right. So you said you wanted to go back to the lobby.
[12:57] Yeah, let's go back to the lobby. Sure. So, as we were saying before, we tried to create a contest, create a lineup, all that stuff. Global Swap, which is a great thing. Also, I've got Global Swap.
[13:09] Great thing for you, and I know a lot of you guys are from the UK and love soccer. Do you need to yell? That's a great thing for soccer, all right. I mean, a lot of people know. A lot of people know. Right. Right. You might need to swap it minutes before the game starts or whatever, however long.
[13:27] If it is minutes, 10 minutes, 20 minutes before the game starts, it's a good way to swap out a bunch of guys at once. You don't have to go individually through your lineups and see that. It takes a lot of time. It's a great thing to have. Anyway, moving on. So, as you can see on the slide, we have all these distance tournaments.
[13:41] And as we said before, a head-to-head is a cash game. Why? Because there's a 50% chance of winning. with the other cash stream. 50-50s and double ups. And that's clicking on it right now. Now these aren't always head to head.
[13:54] There could be, you know, four people, two people, 100 people, 20 people. It could be a tournament. Whatever the case may be. But it's also a 50% chance of winning. That's why they call them 50-50s. So basically if you've got
[14:06] 1,000 people in the pool, 50% of that pool will make money. And that's how it works. So it's still a 50% chance of winning. And that's why they're called cash streams. Right? The rest of these, like multipliers, you know, satellites and qualifiers, usually tournaments,
[14:22] the ballpark for other tournaments, bigger tournaments. Multipliers are usually a multiplier of your buy-in. You know, you win twice your buy-in, three times your buy-in, four times your buy-in,
[14:34] depending on the tournament. And, you know, obviously, team-shared and regular tournaments are those guaranteed prize pool tournaments that you might want to enter. Usually the better, the bigger prize pools are huge.
[14:46] They are huge prize pools. You know, their big tournament on football has almost 2 million people at the end of it. So there's already 266,000 people. And we're still a week, no, two weeks away from the football season starting.
[14:59] Really awesome. It's awesome stuff. So yeah, all right. So we went over the lobby. We went over the lineups, how to build a lineup. They also have right here on the lobby a strategy and research page
[15:11] That brings you right to DraftKings own strategy and research. Now this is a great place to look for different things on who to pick maybe for the week and all things basically DFS. You also can check out VIPBet.
[15:23] We're going to have also our own articles, videos from me and Chris. So, you know, it's going to be a lot of things to help you guys out in picking your teams. Alright, now one of the greatest features I've picked on DraftKings is the lead.
[15:39] Now, we're going to go on the lead, Sam. And, um, basically we have a lead already. But, oh, this is, this is a bad idea.
[15:52] Yeah. This is fun. This is like having a season-long type thing, except that you're doing it daily in draft games with your friends. Yeah, because basically any prizes, any single league, it'd be for a dollar.
[16:05] Next week, you can make it for five, seven, twenty, whatever you want to do. Right. you can even make it like a daily thing where it's seasonal like each week you'll have a winner within your group of people in this league
[16:17] and you know the one with the most points at the end of the season for that particular sport yep you know you can win something or an entry to a contest yep it'll be a lot of fun with the league
[16:29] contracting we're going to make a lot of leagues for you guys just for all VIPF members so it going to be a lot of fun so basically we named it VIPF Pro League We have some friends on here we can invite them You can make a different message and then you can create a league
[16:43] I don't know about my friend, this is cool. So once you have your league, you can actually go in and create any type of contest here. This is so cool man. This is really, basically you can make your own matches, make your own games.
[16:58] Pick whatever games you want from those boards. Yeah, it's great. So we're going to pick the NFL. We'll make it head to head.
[17:10] Before we show the whole guy. Number of contests, one. So you can make as many as you like. I'm going to just do one. Some of them are contests every week. And then basically three contests.
[17:22] Once you create the contest, just like before, you're going to write to the lineup page. lineup page. And it's just that simple. It shows you the slate of games at the top. It even gives you breaking up.
[17:34] Look at the red line there. Breaking up the Gordell Greenback and will not play in this. So this is a preseason slate of games, let's say. It's telling you that he will not play in that game,
[17:46] in that particular game. So, you know, it gives you everything you really need. And it makes it pretty simple to you. And then if these step charts were available, you can look at the lineups right here. Right. It gives you weather updates, you know, everything right here on DraftKings.
[18:01] It provides you with a lot of information. It gives you the countdown, you know, so it's definitely, you know, one of the better or best DFS sites around at the moment. So we went over the links.
[18:14] Now, missions is a cool little feature they got, Chris, right? Yeah. Yeah, missions, pretty simple. obviously as you can see right here there's a mission in progress that we already signed up for
[18:27] it says play in any $2 plus contest if you join it through this mission check back when the contest starts to claim your award
[18:39] you get 50 FTPs which are points on the site to do other things get other appointments, you get other promotions you can use it in their store they have gear, drafting gear and stuff like that. It's definitely good to check back on the
[18:53] missions daily and try and run through those missions, get some extra points. Never hurts. We already joined the $3 contest, that's why we have the check mark here. Once that tournament starts, we'll be rewarded with the
[19:05] 50 points. Also here on the left tab in DraftKings, they have promotions. I'm not going to go through every promotion, but anything you want to
[19:17] check out is here okay we'll click on that and it just basically goes in depth on what is this contest or promotion so it's pretty cool DraftKings always having a lot of promotions going on right definitely
[19:32] check back here often yes with their offer yeah always check with their offering something nice yep so yeah I mean that's basically DraftKings in a nutshell.
[19:44] Very simple, very easy to use, fast, smooth. Yeah, it might seem like a lot at first, but you're really breaking it down into the sports that you like right there on the top, the different things you can do, which is really
[19:57] joining contests, creating ones to join those contests, or creating your own contests and leagues, missions. These are all just little things, but it's pretty rather simple.
[20:10] And obviously the context rules too. You know, that's the first thing you want to look at. It's very important to know how you're going to get the points you need to win these contests. Also, another part of the site that we really need to go into,
[20:22] what we're going to go over now, is the cashier. This is where you deposit your money and which floor you're winning. I really forget about the cashier. I don't know. The head of your employment, the society you play with, was shot.
[20:36] So yeah, they take two deposit methods, credit cards debit cards and PayPal very quick you know credit cards instant PayPal instant give you your limits here and then deposit $5 only max is two grand so you know you can definitely
[20:53] put a lot of money on here and play some nice games yeah and they also have you know transaction history player limits uploads account information so here on the cashier so you can make your own
[21:07] profile and put a photo. You know, just like any other site where you've got to, you know, basically start a username and account. It's the same thing. You just deposit money and you can start playing right away. It's very simple for you
