## Summary

This video is a mid-challenge update from a designer who is seven hours into a 10-hour design challenge. The creator shares progress on completing design exercises, discusses potential product names with community input, and outlines next steps for the project.

### Key Points

- **Challenge Progress Update** [00:00] — Seven hours into the challenge, the creator has completed seven design exercises, averaging one per hour, with three remaining and some polishing needed.
- **Pre-orders Launched** [00:26] — Pre-orders for the product have been launched, and a few have sold, providing early feedback from initial customers.
- **Product Naming Challenge** [00:38] — The product still lacks a name, which is critical for branding and marketing work. A Google Doc was created for community voting and suggestions, with 50 people participating.
- **Name Suggestions** [01:04] — Favorite name ideas include 'Design 10' (10 exercises over 10 days for $10), 'Design Applied' (emphasizing hands-on training), and '10 Days of Design' (10 lessons over 10 days). The creator prefers '10 Days of Design' despite 'Design 10' having more votes.
- **Next Steps** [02:14] — After naming, the creator will design the marketing site and record video tutorials, documenting the process. The challenge is on track and going well.

### Conclusion

The creator is making steady progress on the design challenge, with community involvement in naming and a clear plan for next steps. The project is on track for completion.

## Transcript

All right, we are seven hours into the challenge. So, seven? Yeah, seven hours. So, it's now dark outside. No longer snowing, though. So the drive home should be good tonight.
Let's see, quick rundown of where we're at. I have seven design exercises done. Averaging one per hour, that's pretty good. I only need to do three more. And I've got a little polishing to do on a couple of them.
So, that's coming along well. I launched pre-orders and so a handful of those pre-orders sold so I can get a little bit of feedback from those first people so that's fantastic let's see what else we still don't have a name
which is not good because all the other marketing and branding design work kind of revolves around having a name for the product so I put together a Google Doc
with things you can vote on all the suggestions and I invited everybody into that. And at one point we had 50 people in there voting on ideas, adding suggestions.
A few of my favorites. Let's see. I like this one, Design 10. And the reason for that is because you'll get 10 design exercises over 10 days for $10.
Yeah And I can see some neat branding around design and then the 10 being big and I don know it might work Um another one is design applied with like a colon separating them
Um, the reason for that is so much of design training is like, here's advice. Um, and that's a lot of what I've done too, you know, where you're just supposed to learn that and then some future project you're supposed to apply it.
Um, and that's not what this is. This is hands-on training. Teach a little lesson, and then you go implement it right away. Another one is 10 days of design, because 10 lessons spread out over 10 days.
I think that one's my favorite. If nothing better comes up, I might run with it, even though design 10 is the most votes. So that's coming along pretty well. You can find the Google Doc on the blog post.
Let's see. I'm about to head home for dinner and put my two little kids to bed and then I'll be back a little later to keep working on it I'm trying to think if there's anything else I forgot to cover
oh pretty soon I'll be once I figure out a name I'll be working on designing the marketing site and I'm going to record video tutorials and kind of that process just as I go so stay tuned
we're on track and things are going well you
