In this quick tutorial, I'll walk you through how to design a clean and impressive resume completely free using Canva. So let's dive right in. First, open up Canva. I've added the
[00:17] link in the description, so you can click that or simply go to canva.com in your browser. Once you're on the home page, you'll see a screen like this. From here, click on the templates tab, then head to the search bar at the top, type in resume templates and hit enter. You'll now see a bunch of
[00:33] ready-made resume designs to choose from. If you look closely, there's a style option on the top left. When you click that, you'll get different categories like modern, minimalist and simple. Please note that we are using canvas free versions, so any design that has a pro or crown
[00:48] icon on it is part of the paid plan. Just skip those and pick one without the icon. I'm choosing this template because it also includes a photo section which adds a nice personal touch. After you click on it, a pop-up will appear. Just hit customize this template and it'll open in a new
[01:04] tab. Now that the template is open, you can use the zoom slider below to get a better view of your resume. Let's start by changing the profile photo. Click on the existing image, then click the small icon that pops up It will ask whether you want to delete the image or the frame We only want to delete the image so choose that Next head over to the uploads tab on the left panel Click upload
[01:26] files, select your photo from your computer, and wait for it to upload. Once it's ready, just drag and drop your image into the circular frame. Now let's update the text. Click on the name field,
[01:40] Double click to select the text and type in your own name. Do the same for the job title. You can also update the contact info and other details on the left hand side.
[01:54] Just click on each text box and replace it with your own information. Once you're happy with all your changes, go to the top right corner and click on share. From the drop down, choose download. Under file type, make sure to select PDF standard. And here's a quick tip. You'll see an option
[02:11] called flatten PDF. Please leave that unchecked. If it's turned on, your resume will be downloaded as a flat image and you won't be able to edit it later. Finally, click download and your resume will begin downloading instantly. And that's it. That's how you can easily create and customize a
