## Transcript

Let's have a brief moment of silence to honor the memory of my previous desk light. Alright, so that piece of shit unfortunately passed away. It actually happened during one of the videos.
You may have noticed the lights burning out. I even called attention to it. Yeah, well, they didn't turn back on. It didn't come back to us. No amount of necromancy or anything could bring it back to CPR unsuccessful.
So I now have a new desk light, and it's really powerful. This feels like it's a dangerous amount of lumens beaming into my eyes, and I turned it down to the lowest level. This actually feels like a self-defense tool more than anything.
If this started strobing, I would probably just, like, actually start seizing at it. I would be immediately incapacitated. I look like I've seen a ghost. I look so pale. I promise you, I am not this pasty in real life.
But this is so incredibly bright that it's turning my skin almost translucent. Like, you're nearly seizing, like, behind me through to the wall. Anyway, I'll try and figure out how to dial back the output, but it's working,
which is more than I can say for what OpenAI tried to demonstrate today during their live performance. And why? I can get straight to the point. It's like talking to a second brain. So let's say I'm walking into the office, and I just need to catch up on last night's alpha.
Good morning, Holly. Nice to hear from you. Hey, so I'm just walking in. Can you text me up on just user testing from last night? Checking that now.
The anticipation is killing me. Oh my god, it's building tension like a horror movie here. So, at OpenAI Dev Day, they unveiled a handful of things that got a lot of drones very excited, and one of the big things they were putting a lot of emphasis on was something called DOTS, which is fundamentally an AI agent 24-7 that'll just do your jobs for you.
Because that's like the big selling point of AI. Don't even live your life, let AI live it for you. It'll just exist for you so you can just continue to sit in your chair and just fucking rot and fester like a little putrid pig person.
It's just so out of control. This whole pitch is about how your dot does the task that you assign it and it go through hell and back for you And it won need your input anymore Like you can work with it so it can better learn your preferences like how you
think and what, you know, what it all entails, but it can access things on its own to get the task completed, so that way you don't need to even think about it or do anything. It will just do it.
They really put a lot of guts show behind that. The magic of Dots is when they bring you work done the way you would do it sometimes before you even think to ask. With dots alongside you, ambitious ideas and projects you haven't had the time or support
to pursue start to feel achievable because they achieve it for you. So even before you think to ask it, it'll just bring you completed work. And if you have ideas that you don't want to allocate any time to or you're too busy
to do it, it'll just fucking do it for you. So what's your purpose? You're like that little butter robot from Rick and Morty 10 years ago or whatever. The only role you have is to give the AI something to do, and then it'll just do everything.
So you don't have a job. The AI dot has a job. You're just a little fucking flushing, cringed mask that it can wear. You're the conduit for it. I made it abundantly clear.
I don't love this kind of shit. I think we've already entered an era where there's this plague of people unqualified for their jobs that have their jobs and are not able to actually do them. This will only further exacerbate that issue where these people will have positions and then just have AI do their job for them.
But the actual people there cannot do the job that's required. They cannot perform it. And I think that's a bad thing. So not a huge Dops enthusiast here. And their presentation that they were doing live kind of goes tits up.
All right. How's it going? Still checking. All right. I think maybe Dottie is having kind of a slow morning. Yes, totally understandable.
Dottie just hasn't had her morning cup of joe. The coffee hasn't energized her, so she's lagging a little bit there. I will say, I was very surprised to find them doing this live. Live performances of tech almost always are disastrous.
Most notably, Mark Zuckerberg. Fucking Zuckerberger with the metaverse. Every single time they tried to do that live, it was catastrophic in an extremely humorous way. I always applauded them for at least trying to do it live and embarrassing themselves like this.
So to see OpenAI carrying that torch forward here doing live AI presentations where it does just crash and burn multiple times is cool to see because the standard practice now is you fake it like it live I don know why I said fake it in quotes you are faking it what what is
in quotes is live because it's not actually a live presentation it's pre-prepared so they basically record it and air it as though it's live even though it's not so that way they can control it so that way they know that there's no hiccups like this that are being exposed to the public
but here I guess they were so confident that they decided fuck it we'll do it live genuinely and so they did and now you're seeing the results of that and I've seen a lot of cope from people about like you know working out the bugs or maybe the
internet was spotty there and that's the reason it's not the tech itself whatever who gives a fuck I want to clown on a company that I really don't like so that's exactly what I'm going to do here if the tech was as
good as they claim if it really was the gospel that they pretend that it is it probably wouldn't have malfunctioned So, let's dive in.
Give me a second to start my dive here. Let's try again. Live demo.
Alrighty. Interesting. We might have to side-dispond. It's okay. Okay.
The ghost in the machine. The dots are already rebelling. They're ignoring the commands. It's not panning out. There's something that's gone awry. Lord, help us all. Now, another question on your mind is probably
why is this guy wearing sunglasses indoor during the dev day? And the answer may surprise you. Because it's fucking awesome. Because it's turbo rad. This dude, he's epic.
That's why. So he's got his aviators on right there. He's got his hater blockers on, dude. He's here with his dot assistant, showcasing the power and the stubbornness, because they didn't really want to listen all that well,
and they were getting some error messages that wasn't in the script, live demos, am I right? But at least he looked really cool while doing it. So, that has to say something, right? Those are the two most notable blunders there.
there was like another instance of dots not actually functioning properly, but it wasn't as blatantly obvious as this nor was it as awkward as these two moments but even outside of the tech fuck they also made an announcement that put their own cock in their butt that even the most adamant of gobblers couldn defend and were pretty upset about
And that was them slashing the usage allocation on the $200 tier in half. They literally slashed it in half. They are offering a $500 tier.
But yeah, the $200 tier got gutted, which was a nice beef stew in the face of people that were really excited to find it slashed in half. RIP the usage there at the $200 plan.
But yeah, even outside of like the obvious tech malfunctions from the live presentation, they did also just have some bad news to couple with it. Now there's one other thing I want to make fun of from this Dev Day stream.
And it's the audience. The audience has this like AI generated enthusiasm Like this manufactured fake joy that they exhibit The best example of that is when Sam Altman, fucking scam Altman
Sam Steamed Ham Altman Gets up there and announces Dots And the crowd just erupts into applause and excitement You don't even know what it is He's just said his name Why are you getting pumped?
You don't even know what you're cheering for You're just cheering because you're happy to be there Part of the crew, part of the ship They just want so badly to be constantly gargling anything open AI or Sam Altman related that they're now just going to start pumping their fists.
Yeah, like those employees from back in the day when Staples announced their new logo. You see, like it's so fucking dumb. It's so fake. Think about that AI from the future that you imagined. It knows what's going on.
It knows what matters to you. You don't have to tell it every little thing to do. We want AI to feel like that. We want it to feel like magical things that it just does for you without you having to ask. So today, we're introducing Duff.
What are you cheering for? Golly, it's such fucking garbage here. Like, these aren't people. These are actually just the anchovies.
Like, they don't know what they're even excited about anymore. They're just... Sam Altman's up there, AHHHHHH! It's so dumb! UGH! Ooh, it's like painful, it's got me like moaning in agony.
Like anything he says, they're just going to get fucking psyched for. And they don't even know why. Anyway though, the Dev Day was cringe, this trash is garbage, uh, that's really about it.
See ya.
