## Summary

The Witcher 3 Remastered introduces a long-awaited transmog system, officially called Reforging Gear, allowing players to change the appearance of armor and weapons while keeping their stats. This guide explains how to unlock the two Master Blacksmiths, Ioana and Hattori, and use their services to customize your gear.

### Key Points

## Transcript

The Witcher 3 Remastered is finally here, and one of the biggest changes is the ability to transmog and reforge your gear. It's something that players have been asking for since launch, and have used mods to jerry-rig on PC, and now it's a reality.
But in classic CD Projekt Red style, it's not quite as easy as just going to your inventory from the get-go. If you want to pull off a fit with the stats you want, it's going to cost you quite a bit. Quite a bit of effort, quite a bit of playtime, and quite a few crowns.
First up, it's not actually called Transmog. It's referred to as Reforging Gear, and it lets you change the appearance of both your armor and weapons
while retaining their original stats. The first step is unlocking the two Master Blacksmiths, Ioana and Hattori, each specializing in armor and weapons, respectively. The only other Master Smith in the game, Lafargue in Toussaint,
doesn't offer Reforging services. To unlock Ioana, the master blacksmith who will reforge your armor, first travel to the castle village signpost in Crow's Perch, Velen. To unlock her services, you'll need to be level 24 and complete the master armorer's quest.
If it's weapons you want to transmog, you're after Hattori. He's found in the Novigrad docks. Same as Ioana you need to complete the level 24 quest of swords and dumplings to unlock his services Speak to him inside his home and tell him you looking for a good swordsmith
Once you've unlocked either of these master blacksmiths, simply approach them and select them to use their crafting services. This will open up the usual crafting menu that now has the option to reforge existing
gear. If you want to transmog your armor, speak to Ioana, and for weapons, go to Hattori. Now all you've got to do is select whichever piece of equipment you'd like to transmog
via the categories at the top of the left side, and then pick what you'd like it to look like from the options below. Press to confirm the reforging process, costing you a small amount of crowns based on how much you want to change, and it'll be set.
Keep in mind that you can only select the appearances of items you've already acquired. For example, I mogged the Witcher feline armor into the Forgotten Wolf armor, the one based on the Netflix show. Looks sick.
You've got to go through the process of earning that set first. This is going to be so helpful when I'm looking to stunt on the lads in the continent. Fashion shows, watch your back. Let me know what you think of The Witcher 3 Remastered if you're playing it, and if
you get stuck, we've got guides for every corner of this massive RPG. Whatever you're looking for, you're in the right place. IGN.
