[0:00] This beautiful thing is the new Pagani [0:02] Quadalonga Speedster. Only 10 will ever [0:05] be sold and the starting price is from [0:07] €11 million and that's before taxes. And [0:10] I'm going to tell you why it's so [0:12] special. [0:16] You might be thinking that Pagani have [0:18] taken the Quadral Coupe and just cut the [0:20] roof off. It's not that simple. So, [0:22] while it looks the same from the front, [0:24] it's not. The Speedster has this new [0:27] blade there for altered aerodynamics cuz [0:30] they've changed the arrow on this car [0:31] because it has no roof. Now, here at the [0:33] front, you have these wonderful big [0:34] flaps there. So, they are active [0:37] downforce, but they also help feed air [0:38] into the front radiators. Moving down [0:40] the side, one thing you notice is that [0:43] this windscreen is slightly lower than [0:45] on the coupe. It gives the car a more ra [0:47] shape. Another obvious change is this. [0:49] So, the coupe has gwing doors. This has [0:52] normal doors. They do look the same in [0:54] terms of the design, but the shape is [0:56] all new. And because they fitted these [0:58] new doors, they've had to alter the [0:59] wings at the front and at the back. So, [1:02] those body panels are all new. So, too [1:05] is the rear deck as well because we have [1:07] no coupe roof. And we've got vents in [1:09] there where you can just about see the [1:10] engine. Also, you got these huge scoops [1:12] there and there which do help that big [1:15] V12 breathe. Terms of wheel sizes, they [1:18] are the same as on the coupe. 20 at the [1:20] front, 21 at the rear. And look at that. [1:22] looks stunning. In fact, this matte [1:24] cream paint is just round the back. I [1:27] mean, this is a classic longtail. So, [1:29] it's 25 cm longer than a wirro, and it [1:32] just looks so good. Once again, with the [1:34] active arrow, just looks beautiful when [1:36] it's stationary, and then it looks [1:37] high-tech when it's driving. Another [1:39] cool feature is we have ceramic coated [1:42] exhaust pipes, but unlike the coupe, [1:45] this speedster adds two extra exhaust [1:47] pipes. They're actually hidden [1:48] underneath here. Look, there they are. [1:50] Now, they're added because this car has [1:52] more power than the quadalonga coupe, [1:55] but it's not about the power really. [1:56] It's about the noise. Little button in [1:58] the cabin, press it, opens up valves in [1:59] those lower exhaust for more sound. The [2:02] body panels and the exhaust are not the [2:03] only thing that differentiate this car [2:05] from the coupe version or quad longer [2:07] speeds at the moment are manual. And [2:09] because of that, they've had to alter [2:10] the car chassis. So, they've had to fit [2:12] this central spine here, which is [2:14] different than on the coupe. They've [2:15] made the pedal box wider so you can have [2:18] three pedals. Also, the manual gearbox [2:21] has a different bracket. So, the rear [2:22] subframe has had to be changed as well. [2:24] It's basically completely new. As with a [2:26] quadalonga coupe, the starting point of [2:28] this car is a wirer. So, the wheelbase [2:30] is the same as a wirer. However, because [2:32] it's a long tail, there's this extra bit [2:34] of chassis which is longer to [2:36] accommodate that longer tail. Unlike the [2:38] quadalonga coupe though, which uses the [2:40] Wira engine, this Speedster uses the [2:43] Utopia engine. So, six liter V12 twin [2:46] turbo power 864 [2:49] horsepower. Now, you can see the gold on [2:51] here. That's a nod to the Quadral Lunga [2:53] coupe. However, if you look here, you [2:56] will see this bronze on the gearbox. So, [2:58] this is the manual gearbox here. That is [3:00] a nod to the Utopia. Now, you might be [3:02] thinking, "Blime me, that's a lot of [3:03] carbon fiber, Matt." Well, yeah. This is [3:04] the biggest single piece of carbon fiber [3:07] that Pagani has ever made. It's 3.7 [3:10] square m. It's huge. The interior of [3:13] this car is just exquisite. So the [3:15] design is the same as the Quadrala [3:17] coupe, which means it's different than a [3:18] Wra or a Utopia. It's unique to the [3:20] Quadalonga series. And everything you [3:22] see and touch is either metal, wood, [3:25] leather, fabric, carbon fiber. There is [3:28] no plastic in here at all. It's [3:30] absolutely gorgeous. Special shout out [3:34] to this fabric here. It's not your [3:35] average everyday fabric. Oh no. It's [3:37] actually embroidered by a special [3:39] machine, of which there is only one in [3:40] Europe. And there's four million [3:42] individual stitches to produce the [3:44] fabric in this car. The total cost. [3:47] Well, all this fabric, just this these [3:49] bits, same price as an average family [3:51] car. [3:53] It's nuts. Same with the steering wheel. [3:55] So, it's got a carbon fiber core like a [3:57] wirer and then they put mahogany over it [3:59] and then some aluminum bolts and they [4:01] just machine it all down. So, it just [4:03] feels luxurious. Same with the gear [4:06] shifter. In fact, let's have a little [4:07] go. Oh, so it's a dog leg manual gearbox [4:12] and I just love just seeing [4:15] seeing it working with the linkages. It [4:18] is glorious. Another thing to note is [4:20] this green color. Very, very special. [4:22] And you got two-tone here. So you got [4:24] different color green up there as on [4:26] those air vents and the air vents [4:27] themselves once again machined from [4:29] metal. If you look at the dials, they're [4:31] the same structure and layout as the [4:33] quadalonga coupe, but it's got special [4:35] green paint. It is unique and everything [4:37] that you just touch feels like even the [4:39] door latch. Oh, to open the door, [4:41] everything is a pleasure to use. I'm [4:43] just like pressing buttons randomly [4:45] because they just all feel so nice. [4:47] Never has applying a parking brake felt [4:49] so good. [4:51] All these switches, once again, unique [4:52] to the quad lunger. You don't find these [4:54] on other Pagani cars. The layout is new. [4:56] And we haven't got an overbearing [4:58] screen. You just got enough for your [4:59] Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Most [5:01] likely with customers Apple CarPlay. The [5:04] seats themselves are the same structure [5:06] as in a wirer, but completely new in [5:08] terms of the fabric and the leather [5:10] choices. There is one extra feature on [5:12] this car that's worth noting, and it's [5:14] the fact that sometimes you've seen [5:15] videos online of like hyperars bursting [5:17] into flames and stuff and then, you [5:19] know, people buying them to try and do [5:20] them up and then failing to do it. [5:21] That's not going to happen with one of [5:22] these because look, you got a fire [5:23] extinguisher here in the car. So, if [5:25] anything should happen, pop that and [5:27] everything's good. ish. Now, cars like [5:30] this, they don't tend to be practical, [5:31] but there's something about Bagani which [5:32] has a sort of boutique luggage feel to [5:35] it, and that extends to the car. So, [5:37] there's loads of little places to store [5:39] stuff. So, there's your glove box, but [5:41] then up here on the dash, you have more [5:43] space. Up there, there's some little [5:44] places there for your mobile phone. [5:46] Here, there's some more storage. Here, [5:49] there's some more storage. Up here, [5:51] there's some more storage. Here is some [5:53] bespoke luggage once again with the [5:55] embroidery and leather that's on the [5:57] seats. We have a suit bag here as well. [6:00] There's a place for your mobile phone [6:01] there and your USB sockets. But you [6:03] might be thinking, well, that's all in a [6:05] good mat. There's no place for your [6:07] drink. There is. There is. They thought [6:09] of this. Look, there's a cup holder [6:11] there. Perfect. But there's even more [6:13] luggage capacity on this car. It's more [6:15] practical than you think. But before I [6:17] show you that, I need to just let you [6:19] see the key. [6:21] It's a perfect model of the car. Look at [6:23] that. Wow. Don't lose that. To be honest [6:26] with you, accessing the boot is a bit of [6:27] a palava. So, you open the door, undo [6:31] these lovely leather straps like that. [6:34] Flick this. There we go. Then you have [6:37] to go around the other side. [6:40] Same procedure. Undo that. Undo that. [6:44] There we go. And then lifty upy. [6:49] And now you can access the luggage pods. [6:52] Look down here. So once again under the [6:55] strap. [6:56] And now drop this down. And there is [6:58] your bespoke luggage once again with [7:01] that wonderful embroidering. And then [7:03] when you done that you um you have to [7:05] put it all back together again. [7:08] Okay. But do you know what? You don't [7:09] really mind. And I'll tell you why you [7:11] don't mind because you just have a look [7:15] at the beautiful engineering and [7:16] craftsmanship. There's something about [7:18] seeing the the top of a tire. If you [7:21] have a car where you can see the top of [7:22] the tire, you're living your best life. [7:24] I'm wondering what's under the clamshell [7:25] bonnet, though. So, to open that, it's [7:27] the same procedure. Undo the buckles. [7:30] There is definitely a luggage theme with [7:31] this car. Do the clip, run around, [7:37] clip, and up. [7:42] Now, I'd normally say there's no point [7:44] going underneath the bonnet because [7:45] there's no storage. But it is quite nice [7:46] to look at this carbon fiber, isn't it? [7:48] Especially if you've gone for a solid [7:49] color like on this car. There's [7:51] something about Pagani and their carbon [7:52] fiber. It's definitely worth [7:54] appreciating. Look at the way that's all [7:55] lined up there. [7:59] I think they have OCD at Pagani. Now, [8:01] you might be thinking, "Yes, Matt, [8:03] lovely car, but it's roofless. What [8:05] happens if it rains or it's cold? You [8:07] can only take it out in good weather." [8:08] Well, no, because you can get it with a [8:10] roof. This is the roof for the car. [8:12] However, it does take two people to fit [8:14] it and you need to know what you're [8:16] doing. So, this is Lorenzo from Pagani's [8:18] special projects division and he is [8:20] going to show me what we need to do to [8:21] fit the roof. So, what's the first [8:22] thing? [8:23] >> So, the first thing is to close the [8:24] front bonnet. [8:25] >> Okay. [8:26] >> So, we just need to lift it down. [8:28] >> Yeah, [8:30] I'm good with this, I think. [8:32] >> Yeah, close it. Perfect. Then fix the [8:36] latch. [8:39] Okay latched. [8:41] >> Then we just need to close a little bit [8:43] the door without closing total. [8:45] >> So just a little bit. Not not completely [8:47] closed. Do we shut this down? [8:48] >> No. Just maintaining it open. [8:51] >> Okay. [8:52] >> And close the mirror a little bit. [8:53] >> Close the mirror a little bit. [8:55] >> Yes. [8:55] >> Okay. This is very specific. Right. [8:57] Good. Correct. [8:58] >> They feel nice, by the way. [9:00] >> Which side do you want me on? [9:02] >> I get the one. Okay. [9:03] >> This one. The right one. [9:05] >> Lift it up. [9:06] >> Lift it up. It's really lightweight. [9:08] >> Yeah, it is light. Are you sure you [9:10] can't do it on your own? [9:12] >> Um, no. Because it's really large. [9:14] >> Oh, yeah. [9:15] >> So, okay. Right. [9:18] >> Yeah. This is nerve-wracking. [9:20] >> Then you can see there is a metal cone. [9:23] You You need to put the metal cone [9:24] inside the recess. [9:26] >> It's gone in. [9:27] >> Got it. Perfect. And then just [9:29] >> Wait, wait, wait. You clipped something [9:30] there. [9:32] >> Oh, [9:33] >> no. Yours, your your size clicked. No. [9:37] Okay. [9:37] >> Is it open? The handle? [9:38] >> Yeah, the handle's open. [9:39] >> Okay. Then there is uh a handle here. [9:42] Just open it. [9:43] >> Where? [9:44] >> Here. There is a handle. [9:45] >> Okay. Yeah, I've got a handle. [9:47] >> Yeah. [9:47] >> Wait, I can't get it open. [9:48] >> Pushing the Okay, I got it. That feels [9:51] nice. [9:51] >> Then close it here. [9:53] >> And then close also the handle at the [9:55] back. [9:55] >> Right. So, you got to do that in order. [9:56] Oh, perfect. Done. [9:58] >> Everything feels so gorgeous, doesn't [10:00] it? [10:00] >> We just need to close this one before [10:02] the door. [10:02] >> If I done that the wrong way round, what [10:04] would have happened? Uh, probably you [10:06] could scratch the rear trunk. [10:08] >> Right. Good job you said that, Lorenzo. [10:10] That could have been catastrophic and [10:12] very expensive for me. And now just clip [10:16] that down. That's clipped. [10:18] Just close the door. And there it is. [10:20] And with the roof on, the car looks like [10:22] a coupe. It does, doesn't it? It's [10:24] lovely. So, can you tell me what what [10:26] exactly is the idea behind this car? And [10:29] what does the special project division [10:31] do? So this car is part of the Gandhi [10:33] Complication family. Gandhi Complication [10:35] is the special project division in [10:37] charge of working on few off car as well [10:39] as oneoff car. This car start as an open [10:43] roof evolution of the Kodalunga coupe. [10:45] Maintaining exactly the same design [10:47] approaches in terms of simplicity. The [10:49] car looks like uh hand molded or [10:51] sculpted by the wind. We have removed [10:54] everything was not necessary. No grills, [10:56] no aerodynamic elements, no wings. [10:58] Everything was like sculpted by the [11:00] wind. a real timeless car. [11:02] >> There's certain features on it which [11:03] really stand out such as this paint. [11:05] This is just not your normal Pagani [11:07] paint. Like when you're configuring a [11:08] Utopia, you can't select this paint, can [11:10] you? [11:11] >> No, this paint is custom made for this [11:13] car. Uh the name is called Veres Pitster [11:16] and we have done more than 60 samples of [11:19] color tone before choosing the right [11:21] one. [11:21] >> So, how long did that take? [11:23] >> It's really long a long process. [11:25] >> Obviously, customers, they won't [11:26] necessarily be going for this green. Has [11:28] some gone for this green [11:29] >> right now? No, because we wanted just to [11:31] keep it as a prototype, but many clients [11:34] are asking it. [11:35] >> Really? Okay. We said many. There's 10 [11:37] cars. 10 have been sold. How many of the [11:40] 10 customers have asked for this green? [11:41] >> Many of them. But till today, no one [11:43] will have it. [11:44] >> Really? But might you change your mind? [11:46] >> Let's see it. [11:47] >> Do you know what? Every single Kala [11:49] Lunga speed is going to be in this [11:51] green. I tell you cuz it looks great. [11:53] What else is special about this car [11:54] then? There was a very important uh [11:57] thing about the design that is the [12:00] central tunnel that evolves to the roll [12:02] bar and we when we have designed the [12:05] central tunnel we wanted to create a [12:06] sort of link between the exterior and [12:09] the interior. This is the reason why we [12:12] have a sort of color fold that from the [12:14] rear part of the trunk goes down till [12:17] the upper part of the front end. This is [12:19] very nice. [12:19] >> Well Lorenzo, I mean this is an [12:21] absolutely stunning car. All cars have [12:23] been sold. It's not surprising. Did you [12:26] have all cars sold before you even [12:30] started building the prototype [12:31] >> in the way? Because we have considered [12:33] it secret till the presentation last [12:36] July. After the presentation, we had so [12:39] many requests and for having one of the [12:41] Kodalongas pista, you need to be on the [12:43] top tire client level. [12:46] >> So, not all the client could have one, [12:48] only specific clients. [12:50] >> There's even levels within Pagani. I [12:52] mean it is insane but what a beautiful [12:54] beautiful car. Thing is though one for [12:56] me an open top car you get to hear the [12:58] noise. I I prefer an open top car. I [13:00] would rather have the speeder than the [13:02] coupe if I was ever in that situation. [13:04] However, I must say there is one Pagani [13:07] that I've driven which I know even [13:09] though this will sound great. It won't [13:10] sound as good as this Pagani to find out [13:12] what the Pagani is. Just click on the [13:13] video window to check that out cuz it is [13:16] insane. You got to hear the car. Anyway, [13:17] listen. I hope you enjoyed the video. If [13:19] you did, give it a like. Let me know [13:20] what you think of the Quadlunga [13:22] Speedster in the comments. If you [13:23] haven't done so already, make sure you [13:24] subscribe to this channel because we've [13:26] got a very special Pagani video coming [13:28] out soon. Anyway, thanks for watching [13:29] and I'll see you next
