## Summary

The video discusses the five core personality traits that distinguish successful content creators from those who struggle, based on the speaker's 10 years of experience on YouTube. It emphasizes that success is less about camera quality or attractiveness and more about learnability, communication, experimentation, networking, and persistence.

### Key Points

- **The Question of Success** [00:00] — The speaker introduces the topic: why some content creators succeed while others in the same niche fail. He notes his 10 years of YouTube experience and that success is often misattributed to camera quality or attractiveness.
- **Core Area 1: Love of Learning** [01:10] — Successful creators like to learn new things, whether through books, podcasts, or trying new experiences like ice baths. This constant learning helps them see things differently and stay sharp.
- **Core Area 2: Strong Communication** [02:19] — Being a strong communicator means taking ideas and making them make sense to the audience. It involves being mindful of word choice and sentence structure, as illustrated by two creators fine-tuning a hook.
- **Core Area 3: Willingness to Experiment** [04:09] — Successful creators are willing to try new things, which allows them to uncover new opportunities and rewards. The landscape of platforms is always changing, and experimentation is key to navigating it.
- **Core Area 4: Networking** [05:35] — Networking with other creators provides additional input and feedback. Having a network of 10 YouTuber friends allows you to bounce concepts off them and get real feedback, leading to more opportunities and even brand deals.
- **Core Area 5: Drive to Never Stop** [07:11] — Successful creators have a persistent drive. It can take years for things to work out, but persistence, combined with skill development and experimentation, eventually pays off.
- **You Can Develop These Traits** [08:24] — The speaker emphasizes that these traits can be developed. He encourages viewers to keep learning, adapting, and not stop, even if they are just starting out.

### Conclusion

Success as a content creator is not about innate talent but about developing five key personality traits: love of learning, strong communication, willingness to experiment, networking, and persistence. These can be cultivated over time, and the journey is a process that requires continuous effort.

## Transcript

and other content creators are not successful? everything goes well for them they're in the same niches as some of the people
topics and that sort of thing, If you ever wondered what that difference is, So I've been making videos for YouTube for over 10 years,
I've seen a lot of really successful content creators that started YouTube channels and they just can't make it work.
in these content creators because it's important for me to be able to express what it takes for somebody
will attribute success to camera quality, or maybe they're attractive Let me explain, when it comes to determining if somebody's
really comes down to five core areas With those five core areas. content creators is they like to learn stuff.
about ice baths and then trying ice baths for a while to see I'm gonna read X amount of books or I'm gonna listen to X amount of podcasts every month,
be pulling in more information. then that helps you see things a little bit differently. more clear when you have more information available.
when it comes to successful content creators, The way that we do things are always changing, There's better and new ways to do things,
So I think that if you are somebody that likes to learn, either you know professionally or personally, for this very first one, you're a really good candidate
But learning is just one side of this, and helps you stay sharp. The reason I think that being a strong communicator
is because you have the ability to take all of your ideas You are good at making things make sense. in their videos, they are still able
that they put into their videos. to being a strong communicator is also knowing and knowing how to end the sentences that you say.
and just being mindful of the words that are coming out For example, if you have content creator A, and just say it to get it out versus content creator B,
They'll say something and they'll put it out, and they're making sure that they said it the right way. with two very successful content creators.
and while we were sitting there trying to figure out the other person was on the side of the room as the person to say or their ideas for the hook,
and they were saying, "Okay, no, then people will think this And they were kind of fine tuning it back that was coming outta the person's mouth
But being mindful of how you say things important part of being a content creator. this is definitely something that you should be mindful
in how people respond to your content. that I've noticed over my 10 years on YouTube They're willing to try new stuff.
to the content that they're putting out. but there's actually a lot to this. They give themselves the opportunity to uncover things
that willingness to try new things. from that experimentation are a big deal, like a reward, to getting that reward, once you get it,
at this, this, this, this, to try this thing, which now made a huge difference Another thing that's important when it comes
and all those things is that the landscape It doesn't matter what platform you're on, and we have to learn how to navigate those features,
and we have to decide if we're gonna make But when you are open to those experimentations you're giving yourself that opportunity
of being a successful content creator. doing a lot of is networking. you only have your experiences to learn from,
maybe experiences from things that you read but you don't have any real experience that you can lean on However, if you have a network of 10 YouTuber friends
then in that particular case, you have 10 other people that you can bounce concepts off of. then in that particular case you can say, "Hey,
What do you think?" And then you can get real feedback with what it is that you're doing instead of having So you have that additional input that you can draw from.
is the opportunities that can come from it. that when I'm doing brand deals, they are on my list and I recommend them to the brands that I work with.
it is we're trying to accomplish?" So the end result is that we all end up making more money with each other and get to know each other.
of trudging along on your own, It can be pretty awesome, and it removes that loneliness The next thing that the most successful content creators
seem to have is a drive to never stop. or you are an entrepreneur doing a business Sometimes it can take somebody two years or three years
and for things to really start working out for 'em. But the idea is if you persist and you keep going then eventually down the road things end up working out
you've developed those skill sets, you've developed that you're trying to do, and then it ends up paying off and you understand how to do all the things related to it.
and keep doing the thing while experimenting, and you just kind of go through this loop. and repeating all of the processes that we've talked about
to do this for a long period of time in addition or if you've been around for a while of these traits that he's talking about.
Keep in mind that you can develop these things, right? to learn things, develop the ability to adapt and trying to learn these things.
And by all means, don't stop. as a hobby to connect with other people the way that you get there is you keep going
And really quick, I also tell you that it's possible. and turn it into something amazing. and things that you have to be willing to try.
but it's just a process that you have to go through But you can do this. on YouTube, then you have a lot that you're trying
I have a video where I talk about work-life balance and you can go ahead and click into that now. Go ahead and click into that video
Thank you so much for watching, I'll see you next time.
