# Fernando Collor: The Brazilian Psycho

> Source: [Fernando Collor: The Brazilian Psycho](https://youtube.com/watch?v=Glsb8qplKoM)

## Summary

This video analyzes the life and political career of Fernando Collor de Melo, the former president of Brazil, drawing parallels between his behavior and that of a psychopath. It explores how his family's media empire, charisma, and manipulation of public opinion enabled his rise to power, despite allegations of corruption, black magic, and even murder.

### Key Points

- **The Shell of a Psychopath** [00:03] — The video opens by describing the superficial perfection of Patrick Bateman from 'American Psycho' and draws a parallel to Fernando Collor, emphasizing his impeccable appearance and soulless eyes.
- **The Halo Effect and Psychopaths** [02:07] — Scientists explain the 'halo effect': beautiful people trigger dopamine release, weakening rationality. This makes charismatic psychopaths like Ted Bundy and Collor more likely to gain power.
- **Collor's Rise to Power** [03:30] — Fernando Collor was born into a powerful family. His father, Arnon de Melo, was a senator who killed a colleague in the Senate and got away with it, thanks to media manipulation by his friend Roberto Marinho.
- **Collor as a Marketing Product** [06:22] — Collor is described as a 'marketing product' who inherited the largest media conglomerate in Northeast Brazil, using it to promote his political career.
- **Inheriting Power** [08:13] — Collor didn't conquer power; he inherited it. His father's media empire and political connections paved the way for his rapid ascent: mayor at 29, governor at 37, president at 40.
- **The Lucifer Effect** [16:32] — After his father's death, Collor inherited immense power with no oversight. The Lucifer Effect explains how good people turn evil when given power without supervision, as seen in the Stanford Prison Experiment.
- **Manipulating the 1989 Election** [19:14] — Collor used his media empire to portray himself as a 'hunter of maharajas' and eliminate opponents. He even resorted to black magic rituals against Silvio Santos, who was removed from the race by a legal maneuver.
- **Globo's Manipulation of the Debate** [23:03] — Rede Globo edited the final debate to favor Collor, showing his best moments and Lula's worst, helping Collor win the presidency.
- **The Collor Plan and Corruption** [24:29] — On his first day as president, Collor implemented the Collor Plan, confiscating savings. Soon after, corruption scandals emerged, including embezzlement from LBA and misuse of public funds.
- **Impeachment and Aftermath** [26:28] — Collor's brother Pedro denounced him in Veja magazine, leading to impeachment. Collor tried to rally support but failed. After impeachment, key witnesses died mysteriously, including PC Farias and Ulisses Guimarães.
- **Return to Politics and Conviction** [36:18] — After 8 years of ineligibility, Collor was elected senator. In 2015, he was convicted for corruption involving Petrobras, receiving bribes through his media companies. He was sentenced to 8 years and 10 months but remains free due to legal maneuvers.

### Conclusion

The video concludes that as long as politicians have too much power and no oversight, the Lucifer Effect will continue to plague Brazil. Collor's story is a cautionary tale of how charisma, media control, and lack of accountability can allow a psychopath to rise and fall, yet still evade justice.

people, was arrested four times, escaped twice, and in the trial that condemned this man to death, the courtroom was full of women, all
hypnotized. Then in 1989, he was executed in the electric chair. And 1989 is a very interesting year because in the United States, the most famous psychopath in the country was executed, but in
Brazil, the most famous psychopath in the country was elected was elected president. How is this possible? Maav spoke in The Prince when the people ask for the impossible, only liars can
govern, but here in Brazil, when we ask for the impossible, we vote for psychopaths. He is handsome, he is smiling, he converses well. His hair is impeccable, his clothes are always neat, and his eyes are soulless.

Lamborghini. He really likes being number one. He was the first president elected by vote, the first to suffer pitman's disease, the first to lose his political rights, the first to face a trial in the Supreme
Federal Court for corruption, and if everything continues as it is, he will... To be the continues as it is, he will... To be the first former president to be definitively imprisoned, to understand the life and mind of the most famous psychopath in our
country, we will tell a story on this channel. It's a success story filled with power and wealth, with lies, corruption, money laundering, drug trafficking, bribes, and murders never investigated. What do the Medellín CART
and the Italian Mafia have in common? According to the Italian inquiry, the president of Brazil, accused of sacrificing animals in black magic rituals and of embezzling
a billion dollars in his corruption schemes, from his political father so powerful that he killed a senator inside the Senate and got away with it, to his brother who denounced one of the biggest corruption schemes Brazil has ever seen. It's time to
tell the story of the man who took the savings of Brazilians, the former president, owner of the largest network of newspapers, radio, and TV in the Brazilian Northeast, partner of Rede Globo television, who admitted to manipulating the
1989 presidential elections for this man to come to power. Today you will learn the untold story of Fernando Collor de Melo. Fernando Collor is
a marketing product; we just want to kick Collor out. That's our moral misery, is n't it? But you still haven't answered my question. Answering it, you want me to answer, sir? Answer the following
question: are you corrupt? What do you think of the government's new plan? I'm liking it. Although I understand the plans very well, I'm liking them very badly. And the worst part is that something like this, a piece of crap like
that something like this, a piece of crap like this, becomes reality. Here in Rio de Janeiro, I think... Fernando Afonso Collor de Melo was born in Rio de
Janeiro on August 12, 1949. He graduated in economics. At 29, he was mayor of Maceió. At 33, he was a deputy for Alagoas, and at 37, he was governor of the
state. At 40, he was the youngest president in the history of Brazil. In the book 1984, Jorge Orelli reminds us that history is written by the victors.
And when telling the story of someone who was president of the nation and still owns the largest communication network in the North and Northeast, many writers forget important details. Three details, in fact: first, how did
this man reach power so quickly and so young? Second, what did he do to the internet that made him call himself "The Psychopath of..." Brazil and third. Why is Collor
still free? Jorge Orel, in the book 1984, teaches what is necessary for someone to quickly and youngly reach power. There we read: "Whoever controls the past controls the future; whoever controls the
present controls the past." Collor didn't conquer power; he inherited it first because Collor is the son of Arnold de Melo, former governor and senator. Arnold real estate broker, builder, and journalist. But Daniel, how can one be in power
Daniel, how can one be in power simply by being the son of a is 18 years old; he lives in Maceió, but he wants fame and money, so he moves
to the capital of Brazil, Rio de journalist at Avenida Vanguarda and Diário de Notícias. Soon after, the
de Notícias. Soon after, the 1930 revolution begins in by Jorge Uel, we discover the story of a farm controlled by humans. The
humans oppress the animals and are cruel, enslaving them and killing various species. A revolution happens; the revolted animals demand a change of power, and where does the power go? The pigs are in the right place at the right time, in the middle of a
revolution. They are the only animals that can read and write, so they seize power. Over time, the pigs become equal to, or even worse than, humans. And we learn that every revolution solves nothing; it only
revolution solves nothing; it only transfers power from one class to another. In the 1930 Revolution in Brazil, Arnold Mel was in the right place—the Arnold Mel was in the right place—the capital of the country at the right time, 1930—with the
right job, a journalist, to quickly get the journalist, to quickly get the money and fame he so desired. Fame comes first because, as a journalist within a political revolution and in the
capital of Brazil, he manages to interview famous politicians who were defeated, and he publishes everything in his book, "The Unemployed of Politics." But the book, "The Unemployed of Politics." But the peak of fame comes on March 2,
peak of fame comes on March 2, 1937, when Arnold Mel interviews the president of Brazil, Getúlio Vargas. The conversation between the two is read in newspapers throughout Brazil. Fame comes, but wealth is lacking, so he changes
jobs and becomes a real estate broker. The first step is to open São Marcos Comércio e Indústria de Construção SA, together with his friend and partner, Roberto Marinho. Marinho here owns the newspaper O Globo. Later, he will
own the entire Globo Television Network. After 10 years working alongside Roberto Marinho, Arnold Melo achieves the fame and wealth he so desired. But he wants more; he wants an empire. Think about it: where were the biggest empires in
Brazil built? In politics, with a hunger for enough money to become a candidate. Arnold Melo returns to Maceió and runs for federal deputy for Alagoas and Governor at the same time. He is elected to both positions. As a
Deputy, he is elected with 8,209 votes, and as Governor, he is elected with 56,962 votes. After 2 years working as
votes. After 2 years working as Governor, Arnold Melo then buys the most widely read newspaper in the entire state, the Gazeta de Gazeta de Alagoas. In 1960, he opens a radio station,
Rádio Gazeta de Alagoas. In 1961, the newspaper Globo, owned by his friend and partner Alberto Marinho, announces the radio and newspaper Gazeta de Alagoas as the most listened-to radio station de Alagoas as the most listened-to radio station and the best-selling newspaper in all of Alagoas.
and the best-selling newspaper in all of Alagoas. In 1962, Arnold is elected Senator. 63 Arnon didn't have so much power that in the middle of a political discussion he pulled out his gun and killed another Senator inside the Federal Senate and got away with it. The fight and the gunshots
you will hear now. Senator Arnon de Melo has the floor, Mr. President. Allow me, Your Excellency, to make my speech looking in the direction of Senator Silvestre Félix IG Monteiro, who threatened to kill me today,
Monteiro, who threatened to kill me today, starting today. the senators that there is a senator,
Carção, who is Susa Daniel, but since Arnon didn't get away with it, what are Susa Daniel, but since Arnon didn't get away with it, what are friends for, right? friends for, right? In this case, they served to exonerate him.
Roberto Marinho begins to publish articles defending Arnon. Arnon guarantees that the shot that killed Kairala did not come from his revolver, but the police prove it was Arnon himself who killed Kairala. But Roberto Marinho continues to publish
articles in defense of Arnon. In fact, the articles are titled "In Defense of My Father" and are written by Leopoldo de Melo, Arnon's eldest son. The plan is to manipulate the people and public opinion to do... Arnold Melo gets away with the
murder, and the news story works perfectly: Collor's father killed a colleague in the Senate but got away with it; the crime was covered up. Let's go back to business in '74. Senator Arnold Melo meets with President Ernesto Jesuel, the president
of Brazil. Then, on May 16, 1974, he publishes decree-law 7477, granting Fernando Collor's father the right to create the first and only TV station in Maceió, TV Gazeta, an affiliate of Rede Globo de
Televisão. The news story: TV Gazeta turns 38 years old. Learn a little about its history. Brazil that did not have its own television station. The inauguration of the then newest venture of the journalist, businessman, and politician Arnold Melo took place on September 27,
businessman, and politician Arnold Melo took place on September 27, sons to get involved. Leopoldo Collor de Melo, the eldest son, became a director at Globo. Pedro Collor, the middle son, took over the direction
of TV Gazeta, but for the youngest, Fernando Collor, Collor did not reserve anything. Collor, Collor did not reserve anything. Politics: Brazil was living under a military dictatorship, and Arnon... He goes there and makes a deal with the then-dictator of Alagoas, I mean, the
governor of Alagoas. The objective was to make his youngest son mayor of Maceió, and it works. On March 15, 1979, Fernando Afonso Collor de Melo is appointed mayor of Maceió, and Fernando's first action is to almost triple the
salaries of the city hall employees, and soon after, hire nine of his relatives and 19 relatives of his first wife to work at the city hall. At the end of his term in 1982, we will have the first direct election for
mayor, congressman, and governor. Let's think about it: Fernando Collor was put in power not by the people but chosen by a dictator. Now that people are going to vote, they will certainly choose another name, right or wrong? Because politics isn't
won with the best candidate, it's won with the best marketing. At that time, there were three ways to do marketing: newspapers, radio, and television. The biggest newspaper, the biggest radio station, and the biggest TV station in Alagoas belonged to
Collor's father. So the biggest media outlets start advertising for just one person: Fernando Collor, federal congressman, and it works. Fernando Collor is elected, and what is Fernando's first action as a congressman? He
Fernando's first action as a congressman? He named his mother the director of the Brazilian Legion of Assistance in Alagoas ( LBA), which was a government department that helped families of Brazilian soldiers from
World War II. In 1983, Collor's mother became the director of the organization, and his father died of supranuclear paralysis. When children
lose their father, they inherit what is already the largest communication and media conglomerate in the Northeast of Brazil. At this point in the story, what At this point in the story, what we call the Lucifer Effect occurs. In the book "The
Lucifer Effect: How Good People Become Evil," the author says that by giving power and turning off surveillance, any good person is tempted to do wrong things, and almost all succumb to unethical or criminal attitudes. To
prove this, he creates an experiment: Stanford Prison. A real prison is simulated at Stanford University. 24 students
are divided into prisoners and guards. The guards receive uniforms, sunglasses, and batons, while the prisoners are handcuffed, their names are replaced by numbers, and they wear prison uniforms in the first instance. On the first day of the
experiment, everyone was supervised. So everything went perfectly, no crimes were committed. But from the second day onwards, the supervision ended, and now the guards began to commit crimes. They
began to torture, abuse, and commit cruelties against the prisoners. First, they forgot to give the inmates water and food. At night, the guards wouldn't let any prisoner sleep; they would shout, make noise, and order the
prisoners to clean the toilets with their bare hands. Some prisoners were left without clothes, forced to endure the cold and remain naked. Others, after days without food, received spit. Stanford Prison was supposed to last
14 days, but it lasted six. No prisoner could endure such cruelty, and they prisoner could endure such cruelty, and they called it the Lucifer Effect. With so much power in their hands and no one to watch over them, good people begin to act as
watch over them, good people begin to act as if they were evil. Collor's father may not have been so good, but after Arnaldo Mello died, we were able to answer that question: why do we call Collor the psychopath of Brazil? With his father alive, his
father made him work and get his hands dirty, but after his father died, he inherited the largest communication companies in the country. Northeast, he thinks, " Why should I get my hands dirty if I already have the dough in my hands?"
Finishing his term as a Deputy, he runs for governor of Alagoas and wins. But being governor of Alagoas wasn't what Collor wanted; he was eyeing the presidency. Three years before the
first presidential election, and we have another problem: with three years to go, Collor isn't the favorite for president. The favorites are Leonel Brizola and The favorites are Leonel Brizola and Ulisses Guimarães. The question then is, how am
I going to overtake these two competitors? Eduard Bernaz, the father of propaganda, says in his book, "The intelligent manipulation of mass opinion is very important in a democratic society." Translating, to win an
democratic society." Translating, to win an election, we manipulate a nation. First election, we manipulate a nation. First step: with a single decree, Fernando abolishes the Secretariat of Culture, Transportation, and Irrigation, fires 25% of
all public employees in Alagoas. And the second step: propaganda, my friends! Only a great man can be a good politician, and Collor is a great man. He is the president Brazil needs; he is the president we
deserve. Let's color this black and white Brazil now! Globo TV affiliates throughout Brazil begin... Reporting on the incredible government of Alagoas, they call this government the "hunter of maharajas," the hunt for maharajas. Alagoas has never
been so happy, the government has never been so good, the people have never received so much help, and so Fernando Collor steamrolled his opponents and became the most
famous politician in Brazil. We arrive in Brazil. We arrive in 1989, at the first presidential election with direct voting in Brazil. Fernando Collor is very confident that he will win
these elections, but a problem appears, and the name of the problem is Carrot Bravanel. I intend to act first with common sense, second with justice, third with
honesty, so that together we can make this country a more prosperous country and this people a people who have better living conditions. In '89, Silvio Santos of the republic and completely changes the political game. Now Silvio Santos is
in first place in the polls and has a large lead over all the other politicians. Fernando Collor is now in second place, and he needs to find a way to remove Silvio Santos from the presidential race. As
Barroso said, elections are not won, they are taken. But how can Collor manage to take the how can Collor manage to take the elections? His wife answers, Rosan Collor. He recalls black magic rituals against Silvio Santos, and then it came out in the
news that Silvio Santos was going to be a candidate. Fernando panicked, and candidate. Fernando panicked, and as he always does when something bothers him, when something worries him, he called
Mãe Cicília, the spiritual leader, because Silvio Santos couldn't be an obstacle.
Silvio Santos was removed from the presidential race. But it wasn't because of the animal sacrifices that Collor performed, no, no, it wasn't because of Fernando's treasurer, Eduardo Cunha. Cunha participated in
affiliated with the same party as Eduardo. So Cunha filed a request with the Supreme Electoral Court to demand that the only party that accepted Silvio Santos be dissolved, consequently the
candidacy of Senor Abravanel would be revoked. The request was accepted and Silvio Santos was removed from the presidential race after eliminating all his competitors. Finally, Brazil will be colorful, but
in politics anything can happen, and Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva happened. Lula was already a strong name in politics, he starts competing with Collor and now he's going to the second round... To resolve this, ask Globo to manipulate
the elections. There are two days left until the second round of voting, it's the last debate, and it's on Rede Globo. They recorded and aired a debate on the Jornal Hoje at lunchtime, but the audience was average. When
evening came, when Jornal Nacional showed the entire debate to the largest audience in Brazil, voters saw a debate dictated with the best moments of Collor and the worst moments of Lula. Rede Globo presented an
edit that clearly favored Fernando Collor de Melo, both in the selection of moments and in the time given to each candidate. And it didn't stop there. Lula was also the target of personal attacks in maliciously
money and power along with the largest TV, radio, and newspaper network in the Northeast, using it to promote himself, running over his opponents, manipulating the elections with TV Globo, and sacrificing animals in black magic rituals.
sacrificing animals in black magic rituals. Fernando Collor de Melo is Fernando Collor de Melo is elected president of Brazil, receives the presidential sash from former president José,
and what does he do? The next day he puts the Collor Plan into effect. It's time to confiscate all the money saved and deposited in Brazil. President Collor makes profound changes in... Economically, we have no
makes profound changes in... Economically, we have no alternatives. Brazil will no longer accept defeats; now it's win or win. Most of the new cruzados will remain stuck in the banks. Less than a year of
government. Another problem: the first corruption scandal. Do you remember the corruption scandal. Do you remember the LBA? Well, the news is: the LBA of Alagoas embezzled 1 million. My cat left, but the video isn't over yet.
Collor's wife was responsible for managing the LBA at the time, and she was accused of... She embezzled money from LBA and was ordered to pay R$. 00.000 6 months of Collor's government and yet another turbulence, the Folha de São Paulo newspaper made a complaint that the president only
hires the same advertising company that he owns, and the Folha de São Paulo also reported that in the last 5 months of his government in Alagoas, Collor spent... 100,000 in banquets, hotels, food, clothes, and flowers a day after Folha
de São Paulo made this accusation, and the federal police raided Folha de São considered the newspaper his enemy, authorized the operation amidst so many accusations of corruption. Collor went on Argentine television, gave an interview,
and at that moment he was more frozen than Windows 98. On the night of stated to the Argentine television network Telef that he had ordered the punishment Telef that he had ordered the punishment of the corrupt, no matter who it

considered the most important political magazine in Brazil, denounced his brother Fernando Collor and his treasurer, Paulo César Farias, known as PC Farias. The accusation showed how they used people's money
and public money to enrich themselves in the video tape he recorded for Veja magazine. The brother of President Pedro Collor de Melo makes accusations against businessman Paulo César Farias, known as PC, and accuses
the president of having a partnership with the businesswoman from Alagoas. President Collor responds to all these barbaric accusations all these barbaric accusations by asking for a sign, a sign of support. He
asks the people to take to the streets wearing green and yellow, "Let's flood this Brazil with green and yellow! Let's show our flags!" This is a message I am now directing to all of Brazil: go out next Sunday wearing something in
one of the colors of our flag. The people went out, but they didn't wear green and yellow; they wore black, and it wasn't a sign of support, it was a sign of defeat. The demonstration began early in front of the Brasília Cathedral. People
occupied the Esplanade of Ministries, predominantly wearing black, predominantly wearing black, flags, and banners. For five months, every day across Brazil, there were protests demanding the resignation or impeachment of President Farias, until
the same one Collor had run over (yes, Ulisses Guimarães was now president of the Chamber of Deputies and leading the movement to impeach Fernando Collor). But Fernando had hope: PC Farias. Italy suspects money
came from a deal with the mafia. In the Collor case,
Videl in Uruguay and withdrew 5 million dollars in cash. That would be like withdrawing 30 million reais in one day. Why? To buy the necessary votes and keep Fernando Collor as President. How did the justice system discover this? The
money was sent to Uruguay by a mafioso named Angelo Anet, administrator of an international drug trafficking network of the
the vote began, Ulisses Guimarães announced that the votes would be public and not secret, even if the votes of the deputies had been bought. When Ulisses Guimarães announced that the session was public, who would have the
courage to keep Fernando Collor in power? Few did. And on power? Few did. And on September 29th, the chamber voted for Pachamama with September 29th, the chamber voted for Pachamama with 441 votes in favor. 33 against 441
deputies said yes and decided to approve the impeachment request of the President of the Republic. The vote in the chamber lasted a little over two hours. It was the end of a president. Journalists throughout Brazil reported the news.
Eli became nationally known as the man who removed Collor from the presidency. He went on the J. Soares program soon after to talk about politics. He is Fernando, or Fernandinho to his friends. Therefore, if he was elected, he has now been
repudiated by the public. He was repudiated from the presidency of the republic. He repudiated from the presidency of the republic. He is no longer President. It's Fernando, it's Fernandinho. But 13 days after the impeachment, on October 12,
1992, Ulisses Guimarães mysteriously died in a helicopter crash, and his body was never found. Exactly in that location, the helicopter was last seen heading in that direction. Angra airport is
exactly 2 minutes away by plane, but on the day of the accident, visibility was zero. It was impossible the background, and the pilot had no way of knowing the correct direction. Daniel is saying there was revenge. If there was revenge... Whether or not I know, but
before coming to power, Collor resorted to black magic. After he left office, he resorted to it even more. On March 12, 1993, the Brazilian newspaper published an interview with the brother of the former president. [ Quote from Pedro Collor's book: "Collor's book links
Quote from Pedro Collor's book: "Collor's book links brother to drugs and black magic."] Rosane threatened to tell the press that she was inserting suppositories with cocaine and Fernando. [Quote from Fernando Collor: "The news continues. Fernando Collor
promoted periodic black magic sessions in the basement of Dinda's house, where he stuck needles into dolls that symbolized his adversaries. The attachment to witchcraft is one of the facets revealed in his brother's book.] And then comes the
curse of Collor. It's real, according to his ex-wife, at least. People who declared themselves enemies of Collor died or disappeared mysteriously. What do you call
the curse of Collor? People who tried to harm him, right? Several examples, uh, died strange deaths. Guimarães was the first. But he wasn't the last. In
last. In 1994, Pedro Collor died at the age of 42 from brain cancer. Doctors explained that the tumor had been dormant for a long time, and when it was located, it was what is called a
melanoma. It had already grown considerably, but this rapid progression—32 days—is extremely rare. The this rapid progression—32 days—is extremely rare. The president of the impeachment process was his brother, who denounced the scheme. It was already over, but one person was missing: PC Farias, to
completely destroy the evidence of corruption. There was only one problem: Farias was. He was being accused in 41 criminal cases, had an arrest warrant issued since June 31, 1993, and fled Brazil.
For 22 days, 150 million Brazilians have been wondering if PC will really go to jail. "Oh no, let's arrest all the guys who stole in this country; there's no place to put them all!" For 90 days, the people were mobilized: radio, newspapers,
Interpol—everyone was looking for the same person, and nobody found him until person, and nobody found him until someone found him. Who was the man? The Lena, the machine, the caged beast? Roberto Cabrini... SBT wasn't here, it was Roberto
Cabrini from Rede Globo. PC Farias looked like this last month when he was discovered in London by reporter Roberto Cabrini. 39 days later, a new face. PC Farias once again has a mustache, a stubble beard, and his gray
hair is accentuated. Then the following happens: in '94 PC is arrested. This is the place where Paulo Farias was arrested here in Thailand. Paulo César Farias was sitting here at this table when he was approached by the authorities of the
Thai immigration department. Several witnesses from the investigation of the first scheme died. In '95, the police open a new investigation into another scheme, and PC Farias makes a deal to help the police investigate
Fernando Collor. In '96, three days before testifying in an important investigation, PC Farias is found dead. Paulo César Farias, 49 years old, was found dead
next to his 28-year-old girlfriend, Suzana Marcolino. The news: Who killed PC Farias? Learn about one of the most serious cases in Brazilian politics. Opens quotes: In the week
of his assassination, PC Farias was going to testify before a CPI; the treasurer would reveal the names of the businessmen who fueled Fernando Collor's corrupt schemes. Melo closes quotation marks. "Well, yes, but he didn't hand it over because
he was killed. The Alagoas police said PC was murdered by his girlfriend, and she committed suicide. A coroner named Badan Palhares produced a report stating that it appeared to be murder by the girlfriend followed by suicide, but PC's family
said that all of this was impossible. All the investigators who contested Badan Palhares' report reported having received threats. Until the news broke that the former governor of Alagoas confirmed that Badan received
money to forge the report. The former governor paid him and said that PC Farias' brother, Augusto Farias, paid R$ 400,000 to the coroner to produce a false report. So Augusto Farias and eight others are indicted, according to the news.
Another news report says that Augusto Farias offered R$1,000 to be freed from the accusation of killing his brother. Amidst all these accusations, Augusto
Farias then decides to start his political campaign to be elected federal deputy for Alagoas. And when Augusto Farias' political campaign begins, who is there?" On his side, Fernando Augusto was elected, and the
Alagoas police decided to close the investigation due to lack of evidence. The coroner, who received R$400,000 from Augusto to fabricate a report, complains, "I was the only one convicted." Well, but do you remember that PC Farias withdrew R$30 million
the day before Collor's impeachment? The press went there and asked Collor if he knew anything about PC Farias' involvement with the Italian mafia, and that was his answer. And this connection they want to make between
him and the Italian mafia is another fantasy, a delusion, a midsummer night's dream. Time passed, Collor was acquitted of corruption charges but was sentenced to be ineligible for 8 years. After 8 years, the dust settled, and
Fernando decided it was time to return to political life. Now he's running for senator for Alagoas. My people, today, September 1st, marks the day of our reunion, a reunion surrounded by emotion but also full of faith and
hope, but of course, never alone. The news: a spiritual leader reveals that he helped Collor become senator and that... He sacrificed 400 buffaloes for the former president. But he was elected, right? Only in 2015, a ghost returned to Collor's life: accusations
of corruption, now for diverting money from the public square. Three cars are seized: a Ferrari, a Lamborghini, and a Porsche. And first comes a conviction, an action to prison. The news: STF condemns Collor for corruption at BER Distribuidora. Collor was convicted of
receiving approximately 30 million reais in bribes for deals involving the Petrobras subsidiary. As everything bad can get worse, the STF continues the investigation, and the news: Collor used a Globo affiliate to receive bribes,
says STF. Quote: According to the Supreme Court, the bribes were paid directly into Collor's account and into the accounts of TV Gazeta and the Gazeta de Alagoas company, both owned by his family and with the former senator as the main shareholder. End quote:
Investigation concluded. Fernando was sentenced to 8 years, but he was a Senator. He took the opportunity to go to the Senate to give a speech, and in his speech, he said beautiful words about the police officer and public prosecutor who uncovered
all his crimes. You can check the statements there. Slanderous and defamatory son of a [ __ ] Daniel. But he was sentenced to 8
years and 10 months in the final instance. And why hasn't he been arrested yet? I'll explain: the former president is trying to push the argument that some of the crimes have expired. Which would lead to impunity and would at most oblige him to
perform community service. So even after being sentenced in the final instance by the Supreme Federal Court to more than 8 years and 10 months in prison, he hasn't gone to jail. Daniel, I don't know, I'll guess he knows too much, but whether he goes
to jail or not, one thing I'm sure of is that the power dynamic won't change. Whoever controls the past controls the present and the future, and as long as politicians have too much power and no one to supervise, the Lucifer effect will
to supervise, the Lucifer effect will loom over Brazil. Thank you very much for your attention and until the next video.
