# Popular Artist Caught With Many AI Errors

> Source: [Popular Artist Caught With Many AI Errors](https://youtube.com/watch?v=YK0RvEjnUB8)

## Summary

This video analyzes a popular artist's work, pointing out numerous visual inconsistencies and artifacts that strongly suggest the use of generative AI without disclosure. The creator systematically reviews multiple pieces, highlighting specific errors like melting hair, anatomical anomalies, and garbled details, while also discussing the broader implications for the art community.

### Key Points

- **Artist Accused of Using AI** [00:01] — A popular artist with 70,000+ followers was accused of using generative AI in their process, leading to callout posts on Instagram.
- **AI-Generated Images Deleted** [00:43] — The artist deleted most of the obviously AI-generated images and has not given a public announcement, losing around 3,000 subscribers.
- **Odd Hair and Anatomy** [01:22] — Multiple pieces show odd hair shapes, melting designs, and inconsistent anatomy, raising questions about whether a human would draw such details.
- **Disembodied Thumb** [02:28] — A piece features a disembodied thumb that disappears into nothing, and a super long finger, which are unnatural for human anatomy.
- **Ear Anatomy Inconsistencies** [03:21] — The artist draws ears differently in every piece, with one ear cartilage looking like a dolphin diving into the ear, which is not typical anatomy.
- **High Rendering vs. Poor Anatomy** [04:39] — The artist exhibits god-tier rendering but poor anatomy, which is unusual because skills typically improve together.
- **Eye and Hair Artifacts** [05:06] — An eye looks like it has stitches, a red iris, and eyelashes over it, while hair strands loop and melt into each other, indicating AI generation.
- **Obvious AI Errors** [05:46] — A piece shows a straw inserted into the plastic of a coffee cup instead of the hole, and garbled alien English on a sign, which are clear AI mistakes.
- **Melting Hair and Shadows** [06:27] — A piece with hydrangeas shows hair melting into eyelashes, inconsistent shadows, and petals blending together, all telltale AI signs.
- **More AI Red Flags** [08:41] — Another piece has hair coming from the neck, an extra chunk of fabric in the sleeve, and garbled fingers, further confirming AI use.
- **Triple Eyelid and Missing Fingernails** [09:19] — A piece shows a triple eyelid, mystery stickers, missing fingernails, and a knee that bends unnaturally, making it very obvious AI-generated.
- **AI Painting and Stairs** [10:26] — The final piece has an awful construction job on stairs and an AI painting, with red flags all around.
- **AI and Art's Soul** [10:40] — The creator emphasizes that AI is trained on human-made art and cannot replicate the soul of a human, including the pauses and feelings behind art.
- **Stolen Styles** [11:33] — Two artists, Mika Pikazo and Yoneyama Mai, may have had their styles taken to create this artist's work.
- **Alleged DM Confession** [11:59] — Another user claims the artist admitted to using generative AI in a DM, but the DM was not posted as proof.
- **Recent AI Artifacts** [12:26] — A piece posted yesterday shows buckles turning into leg braces and a melting iris, indicating ongoing AI use.
- **Artist's Response** [12:40] — The artist hasn't made a public statement, turned off comments, and deleted obvious AI posts, which is telling.
- **Viewer Awareness** [13:06] — Many viewers didn't initially clock the AI, but now know what to look for, and can choose to support the artist with that knowledge.
- **Call for Transparency** [13:45] — The creator advocates for rules and regulations requiring disclosure of AI-generated content, emphasizing transparency.

### Conclusion

The video concludes that the artist very likely used generative AI without disclosure, as evidenced by numerous visual artifacts and inconsistencies. The creator urges viewers to be aware of AI signs and calls for more transparency in the art community.

## Transcript

really popular. They've garnered 70 plus thousand followers and then all of a sudden there was a couple callout posts that started populating on Instagram about this artist accusing this artist of using generative AI in their process.
again, please don't send hate to any parties involved. So there is this callout post and I really wish I could play the audio for you guys, but it's going to get copyrighted and they're going over this artist work into parts
of it that look odd captioning it being AI generated. And at the point that this video was made they had 75.5 thousand subscribers. They've since lost like 3,000. And so OP adds with more context.
These are all AI generated images posted by an account with a huge following. As of now they deleted most of the obviously AI stuff and have not given a public announcement. Highlighting how the hand doesn't make sense for holding
the burger, that the lashes are odd, what is this clip on the head? There's literally no way. How did the fingers connect? Like this is a thumb possibly, the rest of the hands? And they also highlight this like yellow mark on the
burger being like what part of the burger is this? Like maybe some cheese? And look, I just want to add everybody draws differently and every artist has artist that draws like this, that's you know, your own personal choice etc. But
at. We will look at multiple pieces from this artist and you'll start to recognize there are some elements that look really odd. First up again is this funky thing going on in the hair. Maybe it's a hair clip. Maybe the artist was
trying to be experimental with it, but the big question you have to ask is a them is would a human draw this? Would a human draw this and then have a bunch of
the designs melt? We have cracks in the hair clip as well and just the shape is very odd. Next up this eyelash. So we have one eyelash here and then we have have one eyelash here and then we have an eyelash going down like this like it
it like bends upwards like this and connects into the next eyelash and the artifacts in the eyes you know the little sparkles whatever these look like AI artifacts especially this white of the eye is like getting dragged across
the eye like this now that could be an artistic choice it looks a bit odd and have like the very uneven teeth happening we have teeth separation for one side of the mouth and just not for the other that could be artistic choice
could also be interesting but the real one I want to point your attention to is disembodied thumb that's floating over here because look what's happening down here with the thumb it just disappears into nothing so we have one super long
that's supposed to hold the burger because if you have your thumb looking the hand like this somewhere or the inside of the hand you'll see the palm you don't get a disembodied thumb like this and then what's happening here
because this is one super super short and stubby finger because we can already we've got like a thumb I don't know the tip of a thumb like this big and then the rest of the hand but then that means somebody's feeding her the burger
the burger this way she's taking a bite not to mention just the bun itself doesn't make sense for the burger because we have an astronomically large bottom bun and then normal size top bun not feeling real confident about this
piece I agree with OP next up we have this piece it is of a white-haired orangey yellow eye with their hands stretched out and they highlight that the ear anatomy is off and that shouldn't the subject's head be visible
it's not and the hair is blended together and there's oddities happening with the sleeve so let's take a look at this art piece looking at the ear anatomy yes the ear anatomy is quite off we have the ear cartilage kind of going
like a dolphin is kind of like diving into the ear that's not really how your ear cartilage looks like. And the other thing to point out is artists don't have to get anatomy 100% correct, right? Some artists will make design choices to try
to make it read a specific way. But you would find them then do that throughout with this artist they draw the ears differently in like literally every single piece. And yeah, next up between these two fingers, which this is like a
really long finger by the way. Like I know it's probably maybe artistic choice due to the fish-eye lens perspective happening here. But that's a really long And the reason again, right? You don't have to be perfect about anatomy. And it
just because an artist got anatomy all little messed up whatever, doesn't mean and accusing them of using AI. That's not cool. The reason I'm pointing it out here is because this artist exhibits a really high level of rendering and
composition. So typically with artists the skills improve together. So if the artist's rendering is this god-tier level of rendering, they should have a decent grasp on anatomy at this point. The last one is like the
garbled up discombobulated thumb here and then the super long index finger here looking a little odd. And then again, it's it's what would a human here's an eyeball, right? So this this looks like it should be an eye until you
look closer and it looks like there's a series of stitches on the bottom, one really red iris and then there's eyelashes over it. And it's a lot look odd? Maybe it's a character design thing. But then we have the hair. So we
thing. But then we have the hair. So we have this really long braid that then each other. We've got hair strands looping back and forth into each other and then it melts into what exactly? And next up again, the sleeve. The sleeve
for some reason is like double wrapped like this way. We have all these lace ruffle detailing question mark that only is around the center of the sleeve and happening around here. It could be a ruffle puff sleeve detail situation,
this one is really funny. This one had a lot of really obvious gen AI tail, so therefore got deleted. But, they're holding like a plastic to-go coffee cup for the straw, and the straw is inserted into the plastic. It's not in the hole.
Come on. If you're going to give any benefit of doubt, right? Like maybe you would put the straw through the straw hole. Come on. Come on. Inconsistent highlighting how it looks like they're holding a teacup with kind of like the
curl of the finger for a teacup. Maybe it's an artistic choice. But, we got a sign in the back with AI English, really, really garbled up alien English. here they highlight isn't the same. Now, we have this one. It's a girl kind of
looking up through some hydrangeas. Really warbled up accessories, shadows don't match and are melting, another inconsistent shadow, hair strands blending together, and petals that blend together. So, yeah, let's delve into
that one because I agree with Ryal, OP, on everything they pointed out. Once happening here? Okay, we got the telltale hair melting into the eyelashes. Yep, telltale AI sign right there. Again, I'm not saying like just
because some artists like to draw bangs that touch the eye- I'm not saying that. These are becoming the eyelashes. That's different. Girly needs some dry shampoo because what is happening with all the roots? Like typically when you have
hair, right? When hair falls forward, a lot of it falls from like one part that bunch of different parts at the bunch of different cowlicks. But, it's like every chunk of hair like is coming from a different section. It's folding like
clothing rather than actual hair. Next up we have the flower clips, which are also melting into the hair. And we've got What is this as a barrette? We've got somehow a barrette that looks like this. You don't commonly see that one.
Now, we have all of the bang hair. What's going on here? Why are they all melting into the ear? This strand is literally becoming the ear. And speaking again look wrong? She's got cauliflower ear on boxers get boxed in the side of
the head, the ear cartilage will puff up and they'll become this like cauliflower shape. But that's the point that I was making, the artist doesn't draw ears the anatomy works, wouldn't you just make the same ear across all your pieces? But
no. And then again, yes, we have shadow confusions because the sun is hitting like top down. But somehow we have a shadow from this set of hydrangeas should be like this one. These these batches that would be like casting a
happen it would imply there's also a light source this way, which maybe a shadow doesn't make sense. Not only is this shadow not for these flowers, these themselves. So, they wouldn't be making these shadows. And then we look at the
flowers. We got flowers not attached to anything. These petals are melting like OP was saying, and we got hair strands kind of like melting into each other. irises as well. Again, that can be an artistic choice, but we've seen this
work and it's looking a little suspicious. So, not confident about this piece either. Next up we have this piece. The hair is again coming from all the neck OP is saying must be a new language. The sleeve fold, exactly.
They're saying the sleeve fold should be even like this, but there is like an extra chunk of fabric that comes out that just wouldn't appear. And all the fingers are garbled up here. Next up we have this one that's also deleted now.
And look at the plushies. Look at all the melting plushies in the background. That's too funny. Next up this one also deleted now. The rings being merged together. Why does one ear look bigger than the other? Next up this piece. So
garbled up. The clothing folds don't add up. And what is this? This is like a knee. This one to me is really obvious because what There's so many things going on here that don't make any sense whatsoever. We've got the dreaded like
triple eyelid happening. Three four eyelids. Hey hey, I woke up with three happens sometimes. You don't often see artists draw that. It's very uncommon to draw that in. And then we got what is mystery sticker over here, more mystery
stickers on the skateboard. What is this supposed to be? Again, when a human draws things, even if it is like they're drawing it more simpler to, you know, cut corners because it's not going to be the focal point of the art piece, you
trying to draw. I don't know what that is. We've got missing fingernails. Bro's got a wobbled fingernail here and then just no fingernail. Like this is not a This one to me is really damning. We have the buckle of the strap or whatever
melting into the rest of the jacket. And then the knee arm thing. Your elbow doesn't bend like that. It doesn't. That's not a knee though because it's coming from over here. So why is it bent like that? And then the AI painting for
what is what is this? Red flags all around for this piece. And the final one. What in the awful construction job is happening back here with the stairs? writing, AI is trained on real human-made art. Artists spend their
everything from scratch, and working hard building their skills and knowledge. Time and effort are what makes art. AI will never be able to replicate the soul of a human. The pauses between lines or the feeling of
It doesn't know the feeling of touching the wrinkles of an aging loved one and calluses from repeating the same thing over and over again. It's just there, an please the one who prompted it. A regurgitation of the hard work of
desensitized that they simply do not care what they consume as long as it looks good enough or it gets done faster. Soon there will be no art and AI will cannibalize itself into absurdity and then we will realize what we have
done. Why are there no guidelines against AI generated content? And why isn't there explicit labels for AI content? And why should I care? And it reads, then they came for me and there was no one left to speak for me. And
they highlight two artists who possibly had their styles taken to create this other guy's work, right? One by the name of Mika Pikazo. I hope I'm reading that right. I don't think I am. And another one, Yoneyama Mai, whose work is
extremely notable. Another user also had made a post writing, "An artist that Inuko San follows asked them if these two pieces are AI." And they said, "Yes." This is again alleged because there is allegedly a DM proving this,
but OP didn't post the DM. This was the second piece. But again, in my personal DM saying, "Oh, yeah, I used generative AI." because like you can take a look at what's happening with a lot of the art
the buttons don't line up properly on the clothing, which again, a human would we're back at it again with the hair stuff. And this was a piece posted literally yesterday by this exact same artist, where again, we have the
artifact details like buckles that turn into the leg brace, and then an iris eye is just melting. And to wrap it all up, the artist hasn't come out and made really obvious-looking posts off their page, and they turned off all their
comments, which that kind of does it, honestly, because everybody was commenting under their pieces like, "Yo, this looks AI-generated." And well, you right? So again, this again is not to bully or harass. Don't bully or shame
Because like at the end of the day, if you're scrolling or swiping, sometimes might not clock that as generative AI, and you're like, "Oh, wow, it looks artist." Only when you take a closer look, and then you're like, "Wait, there
off in this art piece." There were also a lot of people in the comments who were like, "Wait, I didn't know. My gut told me something was up, but I wanted to that an artist was using generative AI and just, you know, not disclosing it.
So, I didn't question it." That happens a lot, too. So, don't fault yourself, for it all the time. But now you know, and now you can choose to support this
artist if you want to with the knowledge that it is very likely the images are AI It's up to you at the end of the day, but knowledge is power, and that's what transparency of all of it. I don't support generative AI, but if you are
again, I do not support, at least disclose it, bro. At least disclose it which is why it's a little iffy to me. And I agree that there should be rules and regulations about declaring whether
more transparency about what is posted video, I'd appreciate it if you like and subscribe, okay? I hit 300k on YouTube really appreciate it. I appreciate all the support for this channel. It means a
lot. We've been at it for 2 years, I think, now. Yeah. Yay! Thank you. Thank you. But yeah, I also stream on Twitch 3 days a week, Mondays and Saturdays at 6:00 p.m. PST, or Thursdays at 7:30, where I do a podcast with my friend. So
I'll be catching you all there on another video. Peace.
