[0:07] creating satirical storytelling based on [0:09] a video game does not mean you can write [0:11] anything and be praised for it we are [0:14] not doing the space Wizards thing on [0:15] this channel okay even he ended up [0:17] regretting saying that the point being [0:19] the deaft hand in which you can weave [0:21] substantive allegory caricature and [0:23] poignant explorations of insane patterns [0:26] or mundane cruelty in life is something [0:28] we should ask nothing but the best for [0:30] satire can be one of the most powerful [0:32] instruments to affect change in one's [0:34] mind or one of the most embarrassing [0:36] ways to reveal your own naive [0:38] perspective now I'm not a man who [0:40] demands realism for all these stories [0:42] nor cartoonish craziness for all of them [0:44] either I demand internal consistency all [0:47] that matters is what the story tells me [0:50] matters regardless of all that let's [0:52] have a chat about the new Fallout Show [0:54] Bud has an idea for three interconnected [0:58] vaults buds buds because the basic [1:00] obstacle to achievement has been the [1:02] brevity of the human lifespan it's [1:04] prevented us from working on projects [1:06] that take us entire millenniums into the [1:08] future buds buds will solve that so we [1:12] have Vault 31 releases Junior Executives [1:15] periodically when they've been unfrozen [1:17] to become overseers in vaults 32 and 33 [1:21] through many generations the plan is to [1:24] end up having a society of super [1:26] managers because the junior Executives [1:28] have been taught how to be managers and [1:30] they're going to teach everyone else how [1:31] to be managers everyone's going to be [1:32] managers it's going to be amazing people [1:34] who are good at management will create [1:36] the best Society that's what buds buds [1:39] is all about once everyone on the [1:41] surface is dead the super managers will [1:43] emerge and create a great society until [1:46] then vaults 32 and 33 will exchange [1:48] people periodically to ensure population [1:51] growth which means what Vault 32 and 33 [1:54] are just people to be controlled to be [1:57] bred to create super managers well 33 is [2:01] okay but 32 was filled with people [2:02] strangling each other oh gosh they [2:04] they're all dying there's blood on the [2:05] walls Jesus but 32 was not overpopulated [2:09] not like the rat Utopia experiments [2:11] playing on the video inside the Vault [2:14] instead they discovered the truth and [2:16] went mad they killed themselves and each [2:19] other and they tried to get into Vault [2:21] 31 but how did Vault 32 discover the [2:24] truth and why would discovering the [2:26] truth that instead of a vault in which [2:28] you're meant to be kept safe and secure [2:30] you are being trained to become a super [2:33] manager that will take over civilization [2:34] at some point why why is that like why [2:36] why why would that be the thing that [2:38] makes you want to kill yourself like yes [2:39] you've been lied to but ultimately [2:41] you're still in the exact same situation [2:44] only now you know that you're menant to [2:46] take over like this is a vault tech [2:48] personal project they they're guinea [2:50] pigs sure but they're very well-kept [2:53] guinea pigs however if we pop our [2:55] thinking caps on perhaps bud decided [2:58] that the crop of super managers in 3 2 [3:00] was so much less effective than those in [3:02] 33 that he culled them he forced all [3:04] their food sources to die out hoping to [3:06] then as we see in the show split 33 the [3:09] good crop into halves and repopulate 32 [3:12] but that doesn't really explain why they [3:14] killed each other or themselves nor why [3:16] they wouldn't have asked for help from [3:18] 33 during all of this hardship we see [3:20] how easy it is to get into an overseers [3:22] account how come they didn't try to open [3:23] the vault 33 door out of desperation [3:25] when they were willing to try it with 31 [3:28] if they know then they should know [3:29] there's only cryo tubes in there 33 has [3:32] food and water and people who are [3:34] willing to help but ultimately why [3:35] wouldn't they open their front vault [3:37] door to the Wast land when we know they [3:38] are perfectly capable of doing so since [3:40] Mula does it 2 years later from the [3:42] outside and Lucy does it in her own [3:44] Vault hell we find out Rose did it [3:45] without bud or Hank's permission with [3:47] Hank to follow her bud is apparently [3:49] incapable of stopping any of that and so [3:51] you want me to buy that not a single [3:53] person in Vault 32 was willing to Brave [3:55] the outside instead of starving to death [3:58] they must have had very specific and [3:59] strange knowledge to make all of this [4:01] fit but I still really don't know how [4:04] what did you know [ __ ] did you [4:06] find out that voltech blew up the world [4:08] cuz I mean I don't see how they could [4:10] possibly have found that out but I also [4:11] don't know why that would make them kill [4:13] themselves you know however they found [4:14] out they don't even have proof they [4:16] never got Vault 31 open how do they know [4:18] what happened and you know what if they [4:19] have an equal exchange rate of people [4:21] from vaults 31 32 and 33 then why [4:23] wouldn't they have questioned when they [4:25] have referenced the fact that they know [4:26] people come from Vault 31 that no one [4:28] goes to Vault 31 this all becomes super [4:31] [ __ ] when you take into [4:32] consideration that they start up a [4:33] saying for voting in Vault 31s for the [4:36] best results doesn't that highlights [4:38] this very strange coincidence as if they [4:41] want to make it further suspicious they [4:42] apparently tell all of the super [4:44] Managers from 31 to talk about how good [4:46] the [ __ ] potatoes are how you going [4:47] to tell me anyone believes this [ __ ] how [4:49] you going to tell me that there are any [4:50] stakes in the investigation the bag of [4:52] tricks from comedy can be useful you [4:56] know where instead of having people be [4:58] awesome why not have them be dumb if the [5:00] answer to this is everyone's [ __ ] [5:01] then why isn't Lucy's brother [ __ ] [5:03] and if they are sending people to Vault [5:05] 31 and they just get dealt with who's [5:08] dealing with them the [ __ ] brainbot [5:10] he's not doing [ __ ] so even if people [5:12] were periodically sent to Vault 31 Bud [5:14] brain ain't killing them so I I I don't [5:17] understand how did people not figure out [5:19] something weird was going on why did it [5:21] take grimy he's grimy don't fight this [5:23] so moldava wants to take her Raiders [5:25] into Vault 33 via Vault 32 with the Pip [5:28] Boy from Rose considering their wacky [5:30] approach why didn't they just go [5:32] straight into 33 they were willing to [5:34] raid Vault 32 so why not just raid Vault [5:37] 33 and then how insanely lucky is it [5:39] that everyone's already killed each [5:40] other ages ago in Vault 32 meaning they [5:43] have every opportunity to Simply take [5:44] over and pretend to be Vault 32 but then [5:47] why was everything untouched and unlived [5:49] in in Vault 32 since the deaths of the [5:51] Vault dwellers remember the Raiders [5:53] arrived and had to live there until the [5:55] date for the wedding that was organized [5:56] by moldava over the overseers terminal [5:58] with Hank I have no no idea how she was [6:00] able to pass any kind of basic check [6:02] from him by the way we see them fully [6:04] kitted out with Vault suits Pit Boys [6:06] exchange of information and fundamental [6:08] knowledge of the situation regarding the [6:10] vaults they even understand etiquette [6:13] somewhat meaning the Raiders lived in [6:15] Vault 32 and changed nothing they just [6:18] hung out with the corpses right next to [6:19] them as they conducted everyday life no [6:21] attempt to maybe move the bodies were [6:24] they lucky enough to arrive just a day [6:26] before the trienal schedule and Hank [6:28] agreed despite having no contact for 2 [6:30] years once you reach the end of the [6:32] season the notion that Hank would be [6:33] overprotective of Lucy is an [6:35] understatement you'd think someone like [6:37] him would discover as much as he could [6:39] about the man marrying his daughter you [6:40] know hopefully as a baseline you confirm [6:42] he's not a [ __ ] psychopath I guess a [6:44] man who chooses to Nuke an entire city [6:46] out of spite for his wife taking his [6:48] daughter away doesn't care too much [6:50] about who she marries I also think it's [6:51] strange that a pit boy for Vault 33 can [6:54] open the front vault door for Vault 32 [6:56] when there are very deliberately [6:58] separated vaults designed occlusion as [7:00] part of the experiment in fact I'm [7:02] surprised that everyone has the [7:03] potential to access each other's vaults [7:05] we've seen the denial of access in some [7:07] cases but why would someone outside of [7:09] Vault 32 with a 33 Pip Boy be granted [7:12] access why wouldn't bud have controls to [7:14] prevent the opening of all three vaults [7:16] surely the release of any super managers [7:18] is the final plan and so surely it must [7:21] be approved by him but okay so her plan [7:24] has now evolved into pretending to be [7:26] Vault 32 people to then perform a faux [7:29] wedding with the Vault 33 people to then [7:31] capture Hank mlan and take him back to [7:33] the observatory because he has the codes [7:35] to activate the cold fusion what a [7:37] wonderful plan except everyone's a [7:40] [ __ ] why didn't Vault 33 do any [7:42] systemic or rad checks with Vault 32 nor [7:45] did they recognize any of these people [7:47] despite making trades once per 3 years [7:50] what did everyone die and get replaced [7:52] with people who had a three-year growth [7:53] Spirit how the [ __ ] does any of this [7:55] happen wouldn't Hank have known about a [7:57] replacement overseer while in [7:58] communication with bud and the [8:00] Mysterious Silence from Vault 32 for 2 [8:03] years do you guys remember when they [8:04] split Vault 33 into two halves so that [8:07] they can do this same system forever do [8:09] you really think it would make a lick of [8:11] sense to them to not recognize anyone [8:13] after just 3 years is everyone stupid [8:17] none of you were capable of lifting your [8:19] arm up one time to check for radiation [8:21] and then on the Raiders side of the [8:23] retardation they just let anyone [8:25] casually walk into Vault 32 to see all [8:28] of the dead people why the [ __ ] would [8:30] you let anyone in to see the dead people [8:33] that literally ruins the whole [ __ ] [8:35] point all the Raiders had to do was say [8:38] ah [ __ ] you know what no one's allowed [8:40] in because we had a cold spread around [8:42] and there's a bunch of people in there [8:44] with a cold and you can't come in but [8:46] that never should have [ __ ] worked [8:47] cuz everybody would recognize these [8:48] aren't Vault 32s anyway the goal of the [8:51] Raiders was to infiltrate Vault 33 and [8:53] get access to the overseer because he [8:56] has the codes they need but if you [8:58] rewatch that episode they don't secure [9:00] him whatsoever they could have walked [9:02] him away to a one-on-one conversation [9:04] and knocked him out but instead they [9:06] send people into randomly kill they are [9:09] just blim blamming they're eating [9:11] they're shouting setting things on fire [9:14] blowing things up oh look a pregnant [9:16] lady with a fork in her eyes is shooting [9:18] everyone the overseer wasn't even [9:19] captured they don't make him a priority [9:21] they instead wait for him at the [9:23] entrance and hope what if he had been [9:25] killed that would have [ __ ] up the [9:27] whole plan when he arrives with his [9:29] daughter they don't kidnap them both and [9:30] then use her as leverage for him to [9:32] activate the cold fusion or anything [9:34] like that instead they say choose your [9:36] daughter or these people and he chooses [9:38] his daughter and so the people run away [9:41] wait they run away they're supposed to [9:42] die then the bad guys leave with him and [9:45] not her apparently they don't want to [9:46] liberate anyone from The Vault the [9:48] people who have been lied to their whole [9:50] lives some of these people are the same [9:52] people the Beloved Rose tried to save [9:55] the worst of it is that mava allows her [9:58] kettin to have the r of the place and [10:00] they almost kill Lucy several times is [10:03] this not one of rose's two children you [10:05] [ __ ] idiot what the [ __ ] were you [10:08] thinking are you honoring Rose and her [10:10] goals by casually killing the children [10:12] she tried to save when they had no idea [10:15] what was happening why didn't you go in [10:17] there capture and restrain one by one [10:19] until you can save them all from this [10:21] experiment why were you happy for all of [10:24] these people to suffer and die why [10:26] Little Miss power to the people were you [10:28] happy to Unleash Your Raiders into a [10:31] world filled with ignorant slaves to an [10:33] experiment watching everyone get sliced [10:36] diced and decked including some really [10:38] barbaric [ __ ] why why was this your [10:41] plan why it doesn't make any [ __ ] [10:43] sense at all why did you leave so many [10:44] of your own people in the vault how is [10:46] it even possible that your armed armored [10:49] and ambushing Raiders even lost it makes [10:51] no [ __ ] sense you could have taken [10:54] over the Vault you could have gotten [10:55] everyone out you could have taken [10:56] advantage of all the resources what is [10:58] wrong with you I this is going to be a [11:00] very unstructured rant where I just talk [11:03] about how much this show is terrible [11:05] since we're near the subject why don't [11:07] we talk about moldava the woman who [11:09] leads the NCR who wants to get Justice [11:11] for Rose and wants to provide free clean [11:13] energy to the people of the Wasteland [11:15] her plan was to go from The Observatory [11:18] to Vault 32 to Vault 33 back to the [11:21] observatory this Mission would involve [11:23] collecting Hank mlan she needs Hank mlan [11:26] because he has the code that will [11:27] activate cold fusion however she also [11:30] needs what Wilzig puts into his neck so [11:33] Mula organizes a very long system of [11:35] retrieval for Mr Wilzig she provides [11:38] Rufus with caps who then provides Tommy [11:41] with caps who then provides ma Jun with [11:44] caps who then agrees to provide [11:46] protection and escort to Wilzig to the [11:48] observatory now you may have one [11:50] question there why the [ __ ] didn't [11:53] moldava just pick up Wilzig herself she [11:55] and her team of Raiders went to Vault 32 [11:58] on foot that's where Lucy starts she by [12:02] chance bumps into him in Philly and then [12:04] takes his head to the observatory the [12:06] only reason an extended set of idiots [12:09] would have been paid caps by her to move [12:11] him from Philly is because she knew he [12:13] would be in Philly had she just waited [12:16] with her Raiders in or near Philly for a [12:19] day she could have taken him with her [12:21] but no instead of handling it herself [12:23] like she did with Hank she's going to [12:25] pay Rufus to pay Tommy to pay M June to [12:28] get him there is stupid we're supposed [12:30] to believe Mula loves Rose she says oh [12:33] you know Lucy your mother was so kind so [12:35] loving so curious so clever she says [12:38] these attributes were quite reflected in [12:40] Lucy if that's true then why the [ __ ] [12:42] didn't you care what happened to Lucy in [12:44] Vault 33 your Raiders almost killed her [12:46] several times and did you want your best [12:49] friend's daughter to be tricked into [12:50] sleeping with some random Raider as well [12:53] the [ __ ] second why didn't you liberate [12:55] her from Vault 33 as well as her brother [12:58] third why didn't you say the people [12:59] there in general fourth why didn't you [13:02] prevent Rose from going feral did you [13:04] not provide her the vials to stop her [13:06] skin from melting and then of course if [13:08] you care about her so much why the [ __ ] [13:09] you letting her live like this she's [13:11] half skeleton why the [ __ ] are you [13:13] letting this happen oh she was so kind [13:15] and loving and curious and clever and I [13:17] hold her hand at the end because oh we [13:19] achieved our goal [ __ ] hell you could [13:21] have put her out of in misery fifth why [13:23] did you want to blow up a bunch of [13:25] innocent people with that bomb you [13:27] psycho [ __ ] she literally provides a [13:29] personal threat to a pregnant woman how [13:32] is this in character six why did she [13:35] introduce herself as Le molda you'd have [13:37] to very shakily assume Hank never saw of [13:40] or heard of malula despite his company [13:42] having bought out hers pre-war and then [13:44] she would need to hope that he never saw [13:47] her or learned about her in the [13:48] Wasteland when he went to get his kids [13:50] and destroyed Shady sands on that note [13:52] how does malava even know Hank blew up [13:54] Shady Sands it could have been all kinds [13:57] of people outside of a single vault well [13:59] did he say he did it cuz like why the [14:02] [ __ ] would he do that and of course if [14:04] he did tell her he did it then he would [14:06] know her in fact this gets even weirder [14:08] because she almost expects him to know [14:10] her I think I know who you are everyone [14:13] knows who I am on one hand this could [14:16] literally be anyone looking for Revenge [14:17] For What Hank Did to Shady Sands rather [14:19] than Mula but on the other if it's an [14:22] obvious choice to think she is the Lee [14:24] moldava why did you give your [ __ ] [14:27] name when introducing yourself in an [14:29] attempt to trick [14:30] him and then there's the stupidity she [14:33] was willing to raid 33 and 32 but didn't [14:36] want to start with 33 for some reason [14:38] making her entire goal much harder and [14:40] don't forget she ditched her own people [14:42] after sending them to attack and kill [14:44] more innocent people why did she feel [14:46] the need to blow up the connecting vault [14:48] door for 32 and 33 but not the entrance [14:51] to 33 if she's trying to prevent them [14:53] from chasing her she would need to block [14:55] both doors also super lucky there wasn't [14:57] way more extreme security on the Armory [14:59] eh and to put a pit in that on one hand [15:01] she was apparently unable to recreate [15:03] the technology that she herself [15:05] spearheaded 200 years ago in order to [15:07] have versions that don't rely on voltech [15:09] control I guess she didn't hold back any [15:11] technology blueprints or intelligence [15:13] from vault tech when they bought her out [15:15] despite her hating them but on the other [15:17] hand she was able to create the [15:18] equipment required to facilitate cold [15:21] fusion as a source of power for an [15:22] entire electricity grid you understand [15:25] California got nuked several times right [15:28] did you reinstall and repair the power [15:30] stations Transformers substations and [15:33] pylons you then Network it all back to [15:35] the Griffith [ __ ] Observatory how why [15:39] the show would have you convinced that [15:41] Lee moldava is a Survivor carved out and [15:44] forced into harsh conditions by the [15:46] cruelty of voltech when in actuality she [15:49] is a completely [ __ ] collection of [15:52] random actions dependent on what imagery [15:54] they want to create at the time of [15:55] filming also how the [ __ ] has she been [15:57] alive for 200 years in any case Mula [16:00] dies the hero of the show apparently [16:03] despite all of the horrors she's [16:04] committed we're supposed to think she's [16:06] a good guy but let's be honest mulva is [16:09] dumb as [ __ ] and an evil son of a [ __ ] [16:11] which just so happens to be absolutely [16:13] against every last piece of spoken and [16:15] described characterization the show [16:17] wants to provide her and she's not the [16:19] only character to be assassinated it's [16:21] so obviously monstrous that you kept [16:23] Rose as a [ __ ] pet ghoul you witch [16:26] anyway let's talk about Hank mlan the [16:28] noble lead leader who will do anything [16:30] to save his daughter she is his world [16:33] nope he wants to ensure her safety [16:35] because she's the future of the super [16:37] manager Jean Pool we discover he will [16:39] destroy all nons super managers meaning [16:43] literally everyone else apparently he [16:44] fully agrees with bud and he must ensure [16:47] the future of super managers because I [16:49] guess that's the only society that will [16:51] work is super managers I guess he didn't [16:53] foresee the idea of some people having [16:56] different thoughts his wife left the [16:58] vault with his children and so he [17:00] decided to kill her when he knew she was [17:02] in Shady Sands he somehow managed to get [17:05] in there kidnap his children back and [17:07] then nuke the place and kill everyone [17:09] how did any of that happen I don't know [17:12] they say is he burned the city to the [17:14] ground he burn that City to the ground [17:17] because that's how vault tech deal with [17:19] competition that's how vault tech deals [17:21] with competition you know he's just a [17:23] mustache twirling villain he doesn't [17:25] want people to have energy and to live [17:27] outside of the people in the vault he [17:29] doesn't want anyone alive outside of the [17:30] Vault that's his character he's a [17:32] radioactive [ __ ] did he and the team [17:35] really not anticipate meeting anyone [17:37] outside of their own vaults only if they [17:38] did they would immediately nuke him this [17:40] is especially brain dead when he knew [17:42] better than anyone there are over 100 [17:44] vaults experimenting with the perfect [17:46] Human Society you are bound to encounter [17:49] some nons super manager factions with [17:51] every layer you peel back you can see [17:54] more of the [ __ ] molten core why did [17:56] Hank suggest it would be Lucy's kids [17:58] generation that would be able to go to [17:59] the surface and rebuild Society there [18:01] are people up there who know what he did [18:03] and hate him he should be more than [18:05] aware of the animosity toward him and [18:07] vault tech there's also plenty of [18:09] factions Hank would be aware of but to [18:11] be fair the Assumption right now is Hank [18:13] will nuke everything to get rid of all [18:15] of them but way his grandkids can't go [18:17] up then the radiation levels would be [18:18] reset and uh it just doesn't make any [18:21] sense and then there's the notion that [18:22] he spent a week looking for Lucy and [18:24] grimy after having left Vault 33 through [18:26] the main door The Story Goes Hank [18:28] simulat a plague by quarantining [18:30] everyone to their apartments for what I [18:31] assume was a long bloody time if he [18:34] managed to convince people he dropped to [18:36] 128 which raises the question of how the [18:39] [ __ ] did he pull that off how did they [18:41] simulate a plague right at the moment [18:43] they needed it such that it was [18:44] convincing to all of the people in the [18:46] vault Bud's experiment is super managers [18:48] not plagues how do you effectively lie [18:51] to about 50 people about all of these [18:53] variables when there's just about two [18:55] people who can actually facilitate it [18:57] and then of course why does Hank a [18:59] junior executive assistant have not only [19:02] the codes to activate cold fusion but [19:04] the codes to launch a nuke on Shady [19:06] Sands do they all have that kind of [19:08] power seems pretty [ __ ] to me [19:10] fourthly and a half malava isn't even [19:13] phased by the fact that Lucy is the one [19:15] delivering wiig's head to her what she [19:17] wanted from him and her relationship [19:19] with him had absolutely nothing to do [19:21] with Lucy but she's like okay that makes [19:24] enough sense she doesn't ask a single [19:26] question as to how any of this [ __ ] [19:28] insan ity happened I had to make a [19:30] choice between their violent world and [19:33] our peaceful one you see Lucy we needed [19:35] a peaceful world so I nked everything I [19:37] know I made the right choice oh [ __ ] [19:41] this is his faction speech right he says [19:43] the when the world is factions the only [19:45] solution is to get rid of the factions [19:47] if the problem with the world is [19:49] factions then what is the solution but [19:51] to get rid of the factions if you do [19:53] that then there's only one faction left [19:55] and that's us and we can shape the world [19:57] how does this line up when by Design [19:59] they are creating factions in vaults all [20:01] over the world factions would be created [20:04] by the mere separation of vaults 31 32 [20:07] and 33 Hank you would develop smaller [20:09] factions in your own [ __ ] Vault but [20:12] more importantly what is your [20:13] understanding of humanity you stupid [20:15] [ __ ] Humanity will always split into [20:18] factions the more and more of them that [20:19] there are how do you not know this being [20:21] an expert manager oh and let's not even [20:23] talk about how [ __ ] lucky it is that [20:25] a headless suit just falls into the room [20:27] you understand that if this didn't [20:29] happen and if Lucy didn't become a [20:30] [ __ ] and not point out the fact that [20:32] he was putting it on he would never have [20:34] been able to escape ultimately Hank mlan [20:36] was introduced as a reasonable [20:37] intelligent attentive forthright and [20:40] caring man who wanted the best for his [20:42] people and his family while maintaining [20:44] Focus Under Pressure that Silo is [20:47] reminding me of a much better show if [20:49] they wanted to go the direction of Hank [20:50] being super evil in a DI hard super [20:53] manager then why would Lucy giving him [20:55] sad eyes be enough to convince him to [20:56] betray voltech like why would he do [20:59] something so antithetical to his belief [21:01] system just because his daughter told [21:02] him to when he believes she doesn't [21:04] understand the situation especially when [21:06] that code was probably all that was [21:08] keeping him alive it's his word against [21:10] mavas he can absolutely and easily argue [21:13] she is lying he can deny even having a [21:16] code I suppose it's lucky there wasn't a [21:18] contingency code set up by vault tech [21:20] that locks the entire system my dad [21:22] found out that I destroyed an entire [21:24] Community to save him that break his [21:28] heart it's sad that Hank in episode 8 is [21:30] a complete clown and this man was stolen [21:32] from us God it's such a shame Kyle mclin [21:34] deserves much better than playing a [21:36] [ __ ] [21:40] cartoon all right let's talk about the [21:42] wizig guy maybe I should have talked [21:44] about him first but this is unscripted [21:46] okay we're doing crazy things here okay [21:49] so Rogue Enclave man willig The Enclave [21:52] don't get a single explanation of [21:54] suggest what the [ __ ] they even are by [21:55] the way he is aligned with moldaver and [21:57] he hopes to steal Enclave tech for the [21:59] good of the Wasteland he does seemingly [22:01] jeopardize this Mission by trying to [22:03] take care of a dog that would have been [22:04] too small for standard intake he doesn't [22:06] create a solid place for the dog to be [22:08] hidden or leashed when he absolutely [22:10] could have like like look at this this [22:12] is what he has and he [ __ ] this up he [22:14] also didn't lock his door so some guy [22:17] blunders in and sees his naughty plans [22:19] and ruins everything like seriously if [22:21] he had locked his [ __ ] door none of [22:23] this would have happened in any case he [22:24] then awkwardly survives a gun turret [22:27] unloading what looks to be about a [22:28] thousand rounds at him while he shuffles [22:31] away how the [ __ ] did this man Escape [22:33] The Enclave how are you going to tell me [22:36] that this old [ __ ] waddled away from [22:38] this facility when one person with a [22:40] pistol could have stopped him if all six [22:43] agencies have the description of Rogue [22:45] Enclave man why the [ __ ] did he not lose [22:48] the glasses or change them if necessary [22:50] shave his head wear anything different [22:53] compared to his [ __ ] bounty image the [22:56] [ __ ] like he's spotted immediately [22:58] medely by the first man familiar with [23:00] the Bounty so he ends up with Lucy and [23:02] he does eventually give up he got his [23:04] leg shot off and he's likely going to [23:05] bleed out so he decides to take Cyanide [23:08] and he tells Lucy to cut off his head [23:10] there's a couple issues with this one of [23:12] them being that he is very familiar with [23:15] Vault dwellers and specifically her [23:17] Vault not only that he's directly [23:19] aligned with moldava this means that the [23:22] last person he would want what's in his [23:24] neck to end up with would be someone [23:26] like Hank mlan the father of the person [23:29] he is handing this to you need to start [23:31] acting like a surface dweller miss m how [23:34] do you know my name you'd think Ma June [23:36] when offering a thousand caps to kill [23:37] the ghoul would be able to spare some [23:39] change for contact to escort Wilzig at [23:41] least someone more reliable for him than [23:43] the daughter of the man who nuked Shady [23:45] Sands and by extension I assume the [23:47] woman he works for what even was the [23:50] escort plan was she just going to do it [23:51] herself also is he seriously dying in [23:54] this scene because they forgot to give [23:55] him a stim pack they clearly had one the [23:58] [ __ ] ghoul finds it on a desk where [24:00] they were working on him where shown it [24:02] stops bleeding it's like a cure all [24:05] their pay is contingent on taking care [24:07] of him I see we only sometimes play by [24:10] The Game's rules huh even stupider than [24:12] that however is that he takes cide [24:14] before explaining the situation he does [24:17] not ensure that she understands what is [24:19] happening and what she has to do and as [24:21] a result he dies during the explanation [24:23] because of course because that's writing [24:26] thanks to that Lucy doesn't know what [24:28] the f [ __ ] is going on but oh well it's [24:30] not like he was deathly invested in this [24:32] Mission being completed it's not like it [24:34] means freedom and power to the world I'm [24:37] sure he didn't really care that much the [24:39] Grim reality of a character like will [24:40] zig is that he isn't a character at all [24:42] he got pulled apart by the plot and the [24:44] need for other characters to have [24:46] Journeys by the end he barely had any [24:48] personal goals or motivations Beyond [24:49] being a quest Giver to the main [24:51] character pretty sad since Michael [24:53] Emerson is a very solid actor and he [24:55] only got the one episode being a mangled [24:57] doormat NPC anyway that's him who else [24:59] we got why don't we talk about Maximus [25:02] the best character I'm sure all of you [25:04] will agree everyone's favorite little [25:07] [ __ ] whether the [ __ ] razor blade in [25:09] a boot thing was him or the friend I [25:11] don't I don't actually care at all it [25:12] was so [ __ ] stupid I I wanted it to [25:15] happen is that wrong there's good and [25:17] all people there's good and all people [25:19] none of it makes any sense no one should [25:20] believe anyone could get wounded to that [25:22] extent by stupidly shoving their leg [25:25] into a razor bladed boot over and over [25:27] again second there's no way to think [25:28] that it was actually him that did it [25:30] like there's no real evidence but a [25:32] bunch of people do assume that it was [25:33] him and so he gets promoted he denies [25:36] doing it of course but expresses that he [25:38] wants it to have happened that is [25:39] expressly antithetical to the Creed of [25:41] the Brotherhood of Steel in this show I [25:44] I I I wanted it to happen is that wrong [25:47] yes it's also a blatant admission that [25:49] he's awful for this job on top of the [25:51] fact that we find out the old [ __ ] [25:52] think he probably did it anyway and not [25:54] that it matters but why did danne think [25:56] this wouldn't affect anyone like did you [25:57] actually think you could butcher your [25:58] own leg deny responsibility and no one [26:01] would be blamed and then when that's [26:02] actually brought up the conflict of [26:04] Maximus having taken the fall for D self [26:06] harm we get nothing it's erased [26:09] immediately but who cares time for a [26:11] promotion now he gets to be a squire [26:14] like why well you see it takes a lot to [26:17] sabotage your fellow Soldier and that's [26:19] that's taken power or or something yeah [26:22] sure whatever instead of having people [26:23] be awesome why not have them be dumb so [26:25] off he goes on his adventure and his kn [26:28] gets bored and so lands for no other [26:30] reason than [ __ ] it and then they almost [26:33] immediately bump into the exact Trail of [26:36] the guy they're following now bear in [26:38] mind when sent on this Mission the [26:40] Brotherhood are scouring the Wasteland [26:42] for Wilzig it just so happens that these [26:45] guys drop out on their way to one [26:47] location and they fall right on top of [26:49] wiig's Trail incredible so then Maximus [26:52] just lucks out because a yau decides to [26:54] ninja attack the Knight instead of him [26:57] when he's not wearing any [ __ ] Armor [26:59] at all and so the Knight is scared and [27:01] he runs away in such a way that he [27:02] [ __ ] kills himself I don't know he [27:05] like breaks his neck or he's bleeding it [27:07] doesn't matter it's just the ninja yau [27:09] is so stupid anyway the Knight needs a [27:11] stem to be alive and because this show [27:13] is written by shitty cartoon children it [27:15] it doesn't actually like make anything [27:16] make sense he is desperate for a stim [27:18] and so he decides while his Squire is [27:21] collecting it to tell him how much he [27:22] has failed and will be killed for it [27:24] it's written like [ __ ] he's like oh why [27:26] you taking so long to get a sim you're [27:27] just so bad at your job I can't wait for [27:29] you to get me my stem so that you can [27:31] then be killed for being bad at your job [27:33] you best get me that stem oh I'm going [27:35] to be mad if you don't get me that St [27:36] I'm going to die and then you'll you'll [27:37] be in less trouble if you don't get me [27:38] that stem so Maximus lets the night [27:40] bleed out and that's that why did he [27:43] leave The Squire back behind that thing [27:45] is filled with all kinds of he gets [27:48] contacted and supplied a replacement [27:50] Squire and tries to put on a voice to [27:52] trick the Brotherhood as to who they're [27:53] speaking to this is night [27:56] Titus over that voice doesn't sound like [27:59] anything let alone Michael rapor I'm [28:02] okay all good here what the [ __ ] are you [28:05] trying to do anyway the Brotherhood send [28:07] him a replacement and his reaction is to [28:09] destroy his direct communication with [28:11] them this is despite explicitly claiming [28:14] his path to Redemption will be through [28:16] getting the head to them meaning he will [28:18] need to maintain contact [ __ ] the new [28:22] Squire doesn't have any confirmation [28:24] checks nor does he question why the [28:25] comms are down for Titus literally one [28:27] of those Raiders could be in the suit [28:29] right now and he'd have no idea because [28:30] the Brotherhood are inept all right now [28:32] let's talk about this steel [ __ ] and [28:34] his battle with a ghoul in which he gets [28:36] his [ __ ] foot stuck in the floor how [28:38] did a total [ __ ] such as yourself get [28:41] past my defenses sorry no idiots of [28:44] aloud we like good conversation here you [28:46] can fly [ __ ] you kicked a rock [28:49] so hard it destroyed a building you can [28:51] absolutely step out from some wood how [28:53] does a man in power armor lose a fist [28:55] fight to a [ __ ] ghoul this fight was [28:58] was horrible it was embarrassing why not [29:00] have him be [29:04] dumb all he had to do was crush the [29:06] ghoul's head at any opportunity but no [29:08] he kept throwing him around so then he [29:10] bumps into a bunch of [ __ ] idiots [29:12] trying to get into his armor and he [29:14] fights them like he just decides I'm [29:15] going to take you on One V whole group [29:17] for some reason obviously he loses but [29:19] they don't kill him how lucky so he [29:22] comes back and the way they're going to [29:24] beat him this time is that they're going [29:26] to push him into his own Army so he can [29:28] kill them what the [ __ ] are you doing [29:30] Jasmine show our drooling friend the [29:32] door please so he takes the identity of [29:34] his Knight and he is sent a new Squire [29:37] because of course his Knight is dead and [29:39] he was The Squire you get what it do so [29:41] he decides they need to get on the trail [29:42] of the ghoul because these the one that [29:44] will lead them likely to the Head they [29:46] very cleverly point out they can follow [29:48] the radiated Trail of the ghoul allers [29:51] leave radiation Trails L the G to live [29:54] you've made it possible to trace the [29:55] whereabouts of the of the target you are [29:57] in the radiated Wasteland you are [30:00] surrounded by radiation what do you mean [30:02] you're going to chase him through his [30:04] radiated [ __ ] Trail oh lovely they've [30:08] sent me a [ __ ] they eventually get the [30:11] head because this show is [ __ ] [30:13] Maximus then feels he might just tell [30:16] his Squire that he's not actually a [30:18] knight The Squire points out that the [30:20] Brotherhood will probably kill him for [30:22] this and since Maximus has not yet [30:24] learned how to lie he fails miserably to [30:26] explain himself [ __ ] up so much that [30:28] he decides it's probably best to Simply [30:31] kill his Squire yes this is real this [30:34] show is [ __ ] real he manages to crush [30:37] his foot underneath the foot of a power [30:39] armor [30:42] suit this however does not subdue his [30:45] Squire who in turn manages to unscrew [30:47] and remove his Fusion core it is so [30:50] [ __ ] embarrassing and if you weren't [30:52] already convinced of that Thaddius for [30:54] some [ __ ] reason decided to not open [30:58] the mask execute Maximus with his pistol [31:00] pull out the body and use the power [31:02] armor for himself this would certainly [31:05] help the fact that he has trouble [31:06] walking it would help with his carry [31:08] load and it seems like he would be more [31:10] than justified in doing so when Max [31:12] killed his Knight and tried to kill him [31:14] and he was going to leave him for dead [31:16] anyway which I mean you might want to [31:18] finish the job in case he escapes we [31:20] also know that thus is absolutely [31:22] motivated and willing to Kill Max as [31:24] well as anyone who is standing next to [31:26] him it's all so [ __ ] up you are either [31:30] stupid or making fun of me either way I [31:33] will not waste my time in any case [31:35] Maximus is about to be eaten by Rad [31:38] roaches everyone is happy about this [31:40] finally the plot line can end only [31:42] luckily for him Lucy happens to stumble [31:44] into the scene and save his life it is [31:46] absolutely and entirely a coincidence [31:49] because she just happened to be in the [31:50] area so Maximus and Lucy bump into [31:53] fiends the two fiends shoot at Maximus [31:55] point blank one of them misses one of [31:57] them SHO shots him in the shoulder while [31:59] he shooting after they have drawn [32:01] manages to kill them both how lucky he [32:03] then clearly shows they have clothing he [32:06] could need knives he could need but nope [32:08] he only takes the gun how the [ __ ] [32:09] this accurate to fall out in any case [32:11] because he's too cool to heal he's just [32:13] going to let his bullet wound bleed like [32:15] a [ __ ] upon coming close to bleeding [32:17] out he happens to stumble across Vault 4 [32:20] with Lucy they heal them Supply them [32:22] with antibiotics and every single [32:24] Resource One could imagine needing what [32:26] crazy and insane luck to have stumbled [32:29] across something like this when you're [32:30] bleeding out so old maxipad decides to [32:33] have a shower eat some food relax watch [32:36] some TV everything is fine which is [32:39] weird when he's been trained by the [32:40] Brotherhood of Steel for the majority of [32:42] his life and he's surrounded by mutants [32:44] you'd think he'd take issue but he seems [32:47] very happy only later he spots Lucy's [32:50] captured instead of discovering any [32:52] context Maximus decides to go on a Todd [32:54] rage and save Lucy when she is clearly [32:56] [ __ ] fine try to imply he has to make [32:59] the decision between his own comfort and [33:01] Lucy's well-being as though this is [33:03] development for him when he knows so [33:04] little about what's happening that he [33:06] has no reason to assume he's not next [33:08] he's making the decision in this scene [33:09] as though he's read the script and [33:11] understands what the writers want him to [33:12] think he's going through rather than [33:14] what a person would actually think in [33:16] this scenario it's so [ __ ] bad so [33:18] upon exiting Vault 4 they decide to once [33:21] again get back on the trail of The [33:23] Squire The Squire with the head The [33:25] Squire that was well ahead of them [33:27] anyway The Squire that was calling in [33:29] the Brotherhood they somehow catch back [33:32] up to him imagine they were just 5 [33:35] minutes late the whole show would be [33:37] over this is also where the Squire [33:38] realizes he's a ghoul because the wacky [33:40] Doctor Who fixed his foot turned him [33:42] into a ghoul I guess in any case [33:44] realizing he's a ghoul means that he can [33:47] now not go back to the Brotherhood which [33:48] means he's more than happy to submit the [33:50] head to these two do you understand just [33:53] how astronomical all of these [ __ ] [33:55] coincidences are anyway Max decides the [33:57] head will go to Lucy so she can get her [33:59] dad back and the thus can get away he's [34:02] just he's not going to talk about what [34:04] happened to him so he ends up back at [34:05] the Brotherhood for punishment keep in [34:08] mind he's betrayed the Brotherhood [34:10] several times including but not limited [34:12] to the assumed violent [ __ ] up of the [34:14] leg of a squire to prevent them from [34:16] getting the position he then allowed his [34:17] Knight to die and stole his identity and [34:20] then lied about having the head to the [34:22] whole brotherhood despite that being the [34:24] one thing they really want and despite [34:26] knowing where the actual one really is [34:28] these betrayals would of course get him [34:30] killed yeah well the leader guy says [34:33] power is taken not given and you know [34:36] what Maximus has clearly learned that [34:40] and so if Maximus can complete the next [34:42] mission he can rule with the old dude as [34:44] his right hand man this has become so [34:47] [ __ ] funny he injures a fellow [34:49] Soldier and gets upgraded to Squire he [34:51] watches his night bleed out and just [34:53] takes his place he [ __ ] around in the [34:55] whole Wasteland and then he lies to the [34:57] whole Brotherhood and somehow achieves a [34:59] promotion for the sake of the [35:00] Brotherhood please listen him for the [35:02] sake of the brother this [ __ ] lied and [35:04] betrayed the brotherhood like three [35:06] different times oh he just so happens to [35:08] know exactly where what we need is the [35:10] very moment he's about to be executed H [35:13] oh I surely believe him now throw him in [35:15] the [ __ ] Brig give us the location of [35:17] the head and if you are telling the [35:18] truth we might not kill you but that's [35:21] for a world where things start to make [35:23] sense in any case and for reasons I do [35:26] not know how Maximus knows where moldava [35:29] is and so he directs the Brotherhood of [35:31] Steel over there there's a big war [35:34] everyone dies and then he somehow ends [35:37] up in a position where he's promoted [35:39] again like I'm not even kidding Maximus [35:42] fails miserably however he's seen as the [35:46] one who killed the enemy leader this [35:48] means that he gets to be a knight now he [35:51] got [ __ ] promoted again what the [ __ ] [35:55] what he just fails upward I guess guess [35:57] it's good the writers wrote what they [35:59] knew can't wait to see him in season 2 [36:02] what an interesting plotline filled with [36:04] twists and turns and absolutely insane [36:07] nonsense I assume I don't need to spend [36:09] much time on this Maximus is a shite [36:12] character a collection of random values [36:14] and actions perir the scene he's [36:16] currently occupying a pathetic [36:18] exploration of an admittedly difficult [36:19] toite character one whose self-centered [36:22] and power hungry thanks to a history of [36:24] understanding that the Brotherhood [36:25] represents that very power he never had [36:28] he likes the idea of being seen as the [36:30] stalwart hero of the people but can't [36:32] escape his selfish nature they awkwardly [36:35] and wonky walk him through coffee [36:37] stained photocopies of better scenes [36:39] where in theory his ethics would be [36:41] tested yet in actuality he continuously [36:44] stumbles around with a scornful face [36:46] until the story can come to a temporary [36:48] end what an unlikable piece of [ __ ] his [36:52] final significant Act was that of trying [36:54] to help Lucy by sending the Brotherhood [36:56] of Steel to the Observatory a place the [36:59] Brotherhood then bombard with all kinds [37:01] of artillery she could literally have [37:03] died within the first 5 minutes of the [37:05] assault and he doesn't seem to recognize [37:07] that at all when making the decision in [37:09] fact a good summary of Maximus as a [37:11] character would be to describe events in [37:12] episode one that his friend covers for [37:15] him and treats him well while everyone [37:16] else in the Brotherhood kicks the [ __ ] [37:18] out of him and when that same friend [37:20] gets promoted Maximus is so angry about [37:23] it he screams at a toilet the sad part [37:25] being Max's Elation and approval Ral of [37:27] danne's injury meaning we can't even [37:29] imagine he was angry that he'd be left [37:31] alone he's literally just a pathetic [37:33] jealous vacuum of potential he's [37:36] actually just like Finn only where he [37:38] was robbed of a trilogy's worth of [37:39] development in favor of sing for raid [37:42] Palpatine Max here was tanking his own [37:44] Potential from the first second he had [37:46] on screen [ __ ] Maximus he's a boring [37:48] loser but hey with him out the way it' [37:51] be nice to check out you know some some [37:53] of the good characters right why not [37:55] Lucy Everyone likes L Lucy great let's [37:58] talk about Lucy once she leaves the [37:59] Vault after that initial rid she ends up [38:02] setting up at night with a fire lucky [38:04] for her she happens to cross paths with [38:06] the main man of the show The One [38:09] everyone is after Mr Wiig he warns her [38:12] how stupid it is to sleep with a fire [38:14] out in the open at night when I would [38:16] argue it's monumentally stupider for him [38:18] to be sitting down next to her when he's [38:20] the most Wanted Man in the Wasteland at [38:22] that point he's very much not able to [38:24] defend himself and he's carrying [38:26] material that means open free and clean [38:28] energy to the people of California he [38:30] considers his mission to be of utmost [38:32] importance and he's gambling it all on [38:34] some lady he sees which kind of looks [38:36] like it would be a trap but I mean [38:38] writing is hard these days so shut the [38:41] [ __ ] up I just want to point it out this [38:42] man is directly connected to mava and [38:45] that is the exact person that Lucy wants [38:47] to see what a coincidence it doesn't [38:49] matter we're moving on Lucy decides to [38:51] check one place in one town and it just [38:53] so happens to be the place that has been [38:55] paid to protect Wilzig wow what a [38:58] coincidence and she just so happened to [39:00] meet him the prior night wow [39:02] unfortunately for them the ghoul is [39:04] sitting right outside and he wants [39:06] Wilzig too for the Bounty oh no how [39:11] inconvenient if only it had been [39:13] literally any other store in any other [39:16] town at any other time hell if only will [39:19] zig had walked in through the back a [39:21] gosh Dawn this just so happens to also [39:24] be the time that Maximus arrives all of [39:26] these events happening at exactly the [39:29] same time are the whole reason anything [39:30] happens in this show in any case she [39:32] ends up having to take the head because [39:35] Mr Wilzig kicks the bucket she settles [39:37] down for the night with a fire after [39:40] being advised not to because [ __ ] it oh [39:42] and she passes an assaultron look it's [39:44] an assaultron reference it has no [39:47] relevance to anything it's references [39:50] remember this and no story she is then [39:52] sidetracked and attacked by a gulper you [39:54] guys should seriously understand that [39:56] Lucy was lucky as [ __ ] to have been [39:57] attacked by this thing and not eaten [39:59] whole when it has the same ninja Powers [40:01] as the yau also had she simply walked by [40:03] this area the ghoul would have caught up [40:05] with her killed her taken the head and [40:07] the show would have been over that gulp [40:09] is Saving Lives the ghoul eventually [40:11] catches up to her and they have a tussle [40:13] she bites off his finger and so he cuts [40:16] off hers I got that [40:20] H bit me lucky for her just minutes [40:24] later she gets a new finger from a Rob [40:27] robot that wants to carve her up for [40:28] organs anyway that makes sense you see [40:31] the ghoul wants to trade her in for [40:32] vials so that he doesn't go feral [40:34] regardless she's strapped down at the [40:36] arms but not the legs allowing her to [40:39] escape with ease by somehow kicking the [40:41] saw into her restraints to then [ __ ] up [40:44] the robot with a defibrillator not sure [40:46] that any of that works but whatever she [40:49] then forces the release of ghouls who [40:51] are kept in cages and are feral as a [40:54] result of this everyone dies and she [40:56] doesn't seem to realize it's her fault [40:58] my name is Martha your name is Martha [40:59] why did you say that she even kills one [41:03] herself and doesn't deal well with that [41:05] fact for about a minute and then it [41:06] never comes up again the irony being [41:08] that she provides vials to Mr ghoul [41:11] outside without realizing that she could [41:13] have given them to Martha who is like a [41:15] ghoul inside instead of just shooting [41:17] her it's amazing that Lucy just keeps [41:20] winning Despite All Odds that she should [41:22] lose at least she earns it right it's [41:24] not like it's insane luck every single [41:27] SLE [ __ ] time I didn't even mention [41:29] the time that Maximus outran a [ __ ] [41:31] bullet to save her not to mention the [41:32] ghoul deciding not to kill her a million [41:35] times in a row whereas he would have [41:36] killed anyone else but I mean whatever [41:38] she's quirky she's fun she's aloof she [41:41] makes she's a funny decision I mean [41:42] credit to the actor but the writing is [41:44] horrendous oh for [ __ ] sake Lucy [41:46] didn't even loot the super duper M man [41:48] how do you forget to do that in a [41:49] Fallout show she didn't grab up [41:51] additional clothing water food ammo guns [41:54] or even a [ __ ] bag for anything she [41:56] might find but she sure did grab a [41:58] reference something she drops in just [42:00] over an episode without using remember [42:03] this remember this remember this and no [42:04] story oh she walks out of there like she [42:06] owns the place and leaves every valuable [42:09] resource to the next scavenger that'll [42:11] simply waddle by anyway she's about to [42:14] die from radiation but she stumbles [42:16] across maximus in his suit pleased to [42:18] make your acquaintance actually let's [42:20] get the other bit of politeness taken [42:21] care of shall we what the bloody bloody [42:24] bloody hell are you doing here and she [42:26] does this when he's about to die by [42:29] being eaten by Rad roaches wait hang the [42:31] [ __ ] on hold the [ __ ] phone this [42:33] ain't even some big coincidence it's a [42:35] good old gosh darn plot hole fadus left [42:38] in the night with the head and Lucy is [42:40] following the tracker she placed in the [42:42] head she would then trace it to its [42:44] realtime location meaning she should be [42:47] far away and moving in a completely [42:50] different direction how do you [ __ ] up [42:52] so much in your stupid goddamn show I [42:55] really want to believe you but [42:57] practically every person I've met up [42:58] here has tried to kill me woman this is [43:01] the one man who took 25 bullets for you [43:04] in [43:11] Philly they have a conversation while he [43:14] is tanking bullet after bullet for her [43:17] how the [ __ ] does she not remember this [43:19] she cited this and so they happily save [43:23] each other by her releasing him from the [43:25] suit and him providing her here right [43:27] away so she bumps into the fiends with [43:29] Maximus and then they end up in Vault 4 [43:31] because they're looking for a solution [43:33] only Lucy's end of the story is that she [43:35] spots that the people of Vault 4 drink [43:38] blood and decorate themselves in the [43:40] ashes of the Dead while saying blood [43:42] must spill to bring Shady Sands back [43:45] what did they mean by this now seriously [43:47] what did you mean by the people who like [43:48] the NCR and Shady Sands being obsessive [43:51] naked blood drinking Ash bathing weirdos [43:53] anyway she tells Maximus none of this [43:55] while saying they should leave this is [43:57] what we call [ __ ] she wasn't allowed [43:59] on floor 12 and yet she went to floor 12 [44:03] where there was like horrible [44:04] experiments and stuff it turns out the [44:05] experiments aren't actually experiments [44:07] they just they're trying to save people [44:09] or something it just it looks really bad [44:11] but it isn't actually that bad it [44:13] doesn't really make any sense cuz of [44:14] course why would you just tell people [44:15] that's what's going on instead she [44:16] assumes the whis and tries to stop them [44:18] throws some acid in someone's face it's [44:20] this whole thing anyway after all of [44:21] this they decide they can just let them [44:23] go like Lucy [ __ ] all of that up and [44:25] then Maximus does the Todd rage thing [44:27] where he breaks a bunch of [ __ ] he also [44:29] happens to steal I'm not kidding about [44:31] this steal their entire source of energy [44:34] he just pops in in his power armor and [44:36] he's like yeah it's mine now you'd think [44:37] there'd be consequences for something [44:39] like this but Vault for just let him go [44:41] with their energy source I feel like I [44:43] should explain the cosmic fuckdy that is [44:46] Vault 4 at this point the gist of it is [44:48] this Vault was run by scientists who [44:50] believe they were the best fit for the [44:52] head of society they ran unregulated [44:54] experiments on their vault dwellers and [44:56] eventually those same Vault dwellers [44:58] killed the scientists ever since the [45:00] future generations of those very [45:02] experiments have now taken in any way [45:04] with Souls passing by and falling into [45:07] their traps they take care of them and [45:09] they Supply them with anything they need [45:11] the vault is actually filled with people [45:13] who are extremely welcoming however they [45:15] have a mysterious level 12 in which no [45:18] one is allowed to go but anyone can [45:20] enter in level 12 they have people [45:22] recovering from the experiments [45:24] conducted all those years ago and you [45:25] know they have a little cult me to pray [45:27] to mulva to recover Shady Sands because [45:30] many refugees from that event came to [45:31] live here and desperately want their [45:34] home back they drink and bathe in blood [45:36] while smothering themselves in ashes of [45:38] the Dead while chanting bring back Sands [45:42] blood [45:45] must and somehow the denisons of Vault 4 [45:49] don't see what all of that and level 12 [45:51] would mean to someone with no context [45:54] they punish Lucy for being terrified and [45:57] trying to help people she thinks they're [45:58] trying to hurt obviously the common [46:00] counter for this is but they're [ __ ] [46:02] which is actually a common defense for [46:04] most of the characters in this show why [46:06] not have them be dumb but it's uniquely [46:08] frustrating in the case of Vault 4 with [46:10] their understanding of the situation [46:12] their great grandparents had to escape [46:14] Horrors and as a result we are shown the [46:17] people who remain understand the value [46:19] of Social and humanitarian programs they [46:21] save surface dwellers and they try to [46:23] bring people destroyed by [46:25] experimentation back to a quality of [46:27] life for causing harm to a fellow [46:29] Survivor you are hereby sentenced to [46:32] death not a huge surprise when she's [46:34] [ __ ] up a society without discovering [46:36] more context I suppose unfortunate but [46:39] there we are [46:41] death by banishment to the surface I get [46:46] this is fun for shows where the stakes [46:47] go as far as being late for school or [46:50] missing your first date or you get [46:51] scenes where people misunderstand [46:53] everything leading to a payoff like this [46:55] but these people have been through back [46:57] they know how social cues work they [46:59] aren't trying to scare anyone which [47:00] means the only real defense of Vault 4 [47:03] is that they are complete [ __ ] idiots [47:05] kind of spits in the face of them [47:07] overthrowing scientists it also makes [47:09] you wonder how they've gotten this far [47:10] when they're so easy to take advantage [47:12] of mulva and her group of Raiders could [47:15] easily have taken Vault 4 if they [47:16] stumbled into it and the world is filled [47:19] with plenty of groups like that it's a [47:21] bit odd to portray them somewhat Savvy [47:23] in human interaction health and security [47:25] to then do the opposite of that straight [47:27] away I mean it's funny how the peaceful [47:29] loving understanding people of Vault 4 [47:31] grab a [ __ ] Harpoon the second a [47:34] person who's been experimented on might [47:35] have gotten out of their cage it [47:37] definitely matches their approach and [47:39] their characters and it's not at all a [47:40] thing that happened to bait and switch [47:42] the audience why do they not have [47:43] Security on their entire Energy System [47:46] why would you reward people with freedom [47:47] and two we supplies when they actively [47:49] try to sabotage your Society why tie her [47:52] up why have a rig a rooll of a ceremony [47:54] and word everything in such a way that a [47:55] person being punished would believe they [47:57] are about to die when that is entirely [47:59] the opposite of your intentions why [48:00] wouldn't they show newcomers what they [48:02] do on level 12 instead of letting people [48:04] stumble across it I already know yeah [48:06] they're [ __ ] that's how this whole [48:08] show Works everyone we've just met is [48:10] now a complete joke despite the [48:12] histories they share nothing that took [48:14] place meant anything for both weight and [48:16] consequence outside of a small hiccup [48:18] our characters made decisions that they [48:20] should reckon with but don't and it's [48:22] all because this was like a side mission [48:25] in a video game and S attire apparently [48:27] means tossing [ __ ] at a wall this [48:29] defensive and reflexive shutdown of [48:31] Standards means the show no longer [48:33] requires dramatic weight consideration [48:35] or consequence once the plot line is [48:38] over and the writers want to do [48:39] something else we can pull the its [48:41] satire card and be done with it and I [48:43] think we all know that if this show [48:45] actually behaved just like a video game [48:47] with characters walking around like NPCs [48:50] or experiencing loading screens or [48:52] choosing to enter prior saves it would [48:54] not be considered a boon to the [48:56] experience [48:57] that would destroy the already very [48:59] crippled TV show Stakes turns out they [49:02] are different mediums it also turns out [49:05] it's much more complicated as to what [49:06] the correct decisions are when balancing [49:08] tone and maintaining stakes in an [49:10] adaptation but you throwing enough [49:12] references and it doesn't matter anymore [49:14] that's why they're willing to let the [49:15] whole society die with the two newcomers [49:17] leaving Lucy convinces Maximus to give [49:20] back the power source though so I guess [49:22] there's that do you know Maximus only [49:23] has the power armor here because the [49:25] people of Vault 4 picked it up and we [49:27] found his armor our surface foragers are [49:29] bringing it back now how the [ __ ] did [49:30] you find that armor how did you know it [49:33] belonged to Maximus which is funny cuz [49:35] it Doesn't how the [ __ ] did you move it [49:37] back and move it back so fast the thing [49:39] weighs tons why are you so invested in [49:42] getting it back to him why did any of [49:44] this insane [ __ ] happen because we [49:46] don't do consequence [49:49] here so Lucy's all about doing good [49:51] deeds right and she finds out that [49:53] Maximus L A man bleed to death and he [49:55] took his armor when he was sworn to [49:57] protect him he was threatening me so [49:59] instead of helping him I watched him die [50:00] he mentions he was threatening him but [50:02] he also rejects the idea that he's a [50:03] good man which is correct I mean part of [50:06] why this is so frustrating is that he [50:07] just lies to her probably should have [50:09] put this in the Maximus portion but [ __ ] [50:11] it he aims the gun and doesn't shoot he [50:13] aims again and doesn't shoot he then [50:14] thinks about aiming and doesn't shoot he [50:16] then aims and doesn't shoot yet again he [50:19] then watches as his Knight is being torn [50:21] apart by the stupid [ __ ] yaay clearly [50:23] thinking about how happy he would be if [50:25] he could just get into that suit he [50:27] absolutely chose to abandon his Knight [50:29] to the yau leading to his death well [50:31] before he threatened him and besides in [50:34] actuality the threat Titus gives him is [50:36] just a description of the repercussions [50:38] the Brotherhood will have for Maximus [50:39] thanks to his inaction during that [50:41] sequence the same Brotherhood that Lucy [50:44] says Maximus should follow the values of [50:46] the show thinks Maximus was not only [50:48] telling the truth here but that he's [50:50] developing as a person and getting some [50:51] repercussions for his actions you know [50:54] taking accountability which he's [50:55] absolutely not doing he lies and then [50:58] the show has Lucy equate her experiences [51:00] with his just threw acid in an innocent [51:02] man's face the Wasteland sucks yeah [51:05] absolute [ __ ] to get back to Lucy though [51:08] it is a problem that she doesn't care [51:10] it's like one of the most obvious ways [51:11] to have had an interesting conflict but [51:13] they just have her not care about it at [51:15] all she doesn't want to know any more [51:16] context she just wants to move on they [51:18] made it clear that she appreciates [51:20] context when judging conflict but I [51:22] guess she doesn't anymore especially [51:24] since she gives up on it entirely when [51:26] it comes to malava but we'll get to that [51:29] instead of her pursuing more information [51:31] she says oh I threw some acid in an [51:34] innocent man's face the Wasteland sucks [51:36] as if what she did is even remotely [51:38] close when she was under the impression [51:40] for good reason that these people were [51:42] being experimented on against their will [51:44] meanwhile Maximus just wanted more power [51:46] it's pretty boring lame and totally not [51:48] in her character but whatever let's go [51:50] so Lucy and Maximus end up with thus [51:53] like I said I cannot understate just how [51:55] incredibly [ __ ] lucky these idiot monges [51:57] saw throughout the whole show but [51:59] whatever it's fun fun fun fun so after [52:00] they split up she enters the observatory [52:03] safe house and sees It's a Wonderful [52:05] Refuge where everyone is safe and happy [52:07] a lot is revealed that we can go over in [52:09] a moment and she realizes her dad is a [52:12] bad man though she manages to watch her [52:14] dad open up power armor and toss out a [52:16] dead man while jumping in even though [52:18] it's the one thing she absolutely would [52:20] not want him to be able to do like this [52:21] whole thing happened right in front of a [52:23] field of view what are you doing anyway [52:25] Lucy by the end of the season has no [52:26] clue what the [ __ ] she's doing and has [52:28] to rethink basically all of everything [52:30] but she did say okey doie which made it [52:32] all worth it outside of the obvious [52:34] being Ella Pell is an awesome actress [52:36] let's talk about this character I may [52:38] end up looking like [52:42] you I'll never be like you when looking [52:45] back you can see exactly what the plan [52:47] was for Lucy she's meant to be the aloof [52:49] naive fish out of water moving through [52:51] the world with fun reactions to all [52:53] kinds of silly and serious events [52:55] eventually she'll learn the world is [52:57] Harsh and cruel and she'll need to [53:00] become a killer there you are you little [53:07] killer we see a lot of this throughout [53:10] exemplified by her compliance in almost [53:12] everything Vault related but the [53:14] progression is entirely wonky and often [53:17] times a straightforward assassination [53:19] you can't have the fish out of water [53:21] girl who is naive on every single event [53:24] in the show while also having her [53:26] starting scenes be that of a deep and [53:29] horrifying event in the totality of her [53:32] first interaction with people from [53:33] Beyond The Vault she witnesses her [53:35] lifelong friends and family getting [53:38] horrifically attacked and murdered on [53:40] top of her father getting kidnapped and [53:42] all of that after sleeping with a man [53:44] claiming to be someone he wasn't right [53:46] before he tries to kill her this has [53:48] almost no effect on her approach to [53:50] anything she talks to everyone as though [53:52] they'll be very cordial and friendly [53:55] including but not limited to a man who's [53:56] actually killing people right in front [53:58] of her just before she speaks to him not [54:00] entirely dissimilar in style to what she [54:02] previously experienced you have that you [54:04] have the impact of a chopped off finger [54:06] being entirely forgotten in just an [54:08] episode you have a missing out on [54:09] several opportunities when it comes to [54:11] standard interactions and her attitude [54:13] in general you have this girl this [54:15] bubbly fun girl from a world where [54:17] violence is as rare as a birth she's [54:20] happily holding a severed human head and [54:22] chatting with it not long after simply [54:24] deciding that yes she will SE it off [54:26] it's a fun performance but it's nowhere [54:29] near the behavior you develop when [54:31] having lived this person's life nor is [54:33] it representative of that person having [54:34] experienced the trauma that she did [54:36] Lucy's awkward demeanor is highlighted [54:38] by even her fellow Vault dwellers and [54:40] stands in direct opposition to the much [54:42] more normal disposition and attitude of [54:44] her father the man who would have had [54:46] the biggest influence in her development [54:48] people try to explain her by saying [54:50] she's a vault dweller when she can come [54:51] across as strange even to them her [54:54] reactions to every one of the people she [54:55] loves and has lived with for years [54:57] getting murdered is very restrained in [55:00] the opening I understand they did this [55:02] deliberately I think it's a mistake they [55:04] won't let her portray a more powerful [55:06] set of emotions as her life is being [55:08] destroyed in front of her eyes it's [55:10] downright awkward when her father is [55:12] drowning a man in front of her she's [55:14] like oh well she watches a friend get [55:17] his neck torn out and she doesn't seem [55:19] to care all that much about him the time [55:21] they allow Ella a chance to show what [55:23] she can do emotionally is when her [55:25] father gets kidnapped probably one of [55:26] the best few isolated seconds of the [55:29] entire show you are my [55:35] world but this stands in opposition to [55:38] her prior emotional engagement and it [55:40] continues in her incredibly subdued [55:42] reaction to the world for the first time [55:44] she sees it as far as she knows anyway [55:47] witnessing a landscape outside of the [55:49] Vault a horizon the sky the insane [55:52] nature of this Wasteland I feel like we [55:54] had better reactions from Rebecca [55:55] Ferguson in Silo and she was only [55:57] looking at pictures of the outside world [55:59] and this issue permeates through to the [56:01] smallest of stuff like how Lucy will [56:03] walk by a Brahman and just sort of smile [56:05] it should already be special to her as a [56:08] cow but it has two heads she'll show [56:10] less emotion when seeing people murdered [56:12] than when she decides to help out [56:16] Wilzig gosh damn it okay her curiosity [56:20] and shock are incredibly selective and [56:22] I'm inclined to believe it was entirely [56:24] a direction problem because I know what [56:26] she's capable of and some of the [56:28] reactions are just strange and it makes [56:30] it so much harder to take any of the [56:32] heartache she experiences seriously we [56:34] don't see any kind of emotionally [56:36] charged decisions representative of the [56:38] trauma she sustained instead she [56:40] continues to behave as the Lucy [56:41] archetype they built in episode 1 until [56:44] the finale realization it's not about [56:46] her continuous reference to do unto [56:48] others as you would have them do unto [56:50] you it's about how she continuously gets [56:52] taken advantage of and surprised when [56:54] she simply doesn't have the back story [56:56] to support it the show wants you to [56:58] think she has it but you need to Simply [57:00] remember what's happened to her I [57:01] assumed she had at least learned [57:03] something by the time of reaching [57:04] Maximus but those assumptions were [57:06] dashed when her willingness to trust the [57:08] fiends rather than keeping a gun trained [57:10] on them almost costs Maximus his life [57:12] especially when he warned her [57:14] excessively Lucy will actively baffle me [57:16] in that she will explain just how much [57:18] she absolutely cannot bring herself to [57:20] kill the ghoul or leave him to die you [57:23] see those actions would be outside of [57:24] her ethical system all right gotcha but [57:27] then not seen later she has to be [57:29] convinced to save a man who is not only [57:31] offering to save her life but has taken [57:33] as many as 25 bullets for her previously [57:36] Maximus is a [ __ ] but she has no reason [57:39] to think he's anything other than a [57:41] saint and so Lucy's ethical system will [57:43] dictate that she will save the mass [57:45] murdering ghoul in a heartbeat but when [57:47] it comes to a man who saved her life and [57:50] is currently suffering while offering to [57:52] save her life again well apparently [57:54] she's going to need some convincing for [57:56] that one Lucy often gets reset because [57:58] they don't want to lose the bubbly [58:00] nature until we're closer to the end she [58:02] went through something more horrific [58:03] than many wastelanders have they utterly [58:06] squander the characterization and it's [58:07] propped up as something special we [58:09] missed out on one of the only [58:10] interesting conflicts of morality she [58:12] could have had with Maximus cuz the [58:14] writers didn't know how to handle it and [58:15] then she swallows hookline and sinker [58:17] the entire story Mula feeds to her which [58:20] is probably my biggest problem with how [58:22] they wrote this character Lucy is now [58:24] looking at the woman who is respons ible [58:26] for the death of many of her lifelong [58:28] friends and family what she hears from [58:30] Mula about her interests don't come [58:32] [ __ ] close to being representative of [58:34] her actions in the vault she could have [58:36] dropped a necklace on a random ghoul she [58:38] can easily lie about Lucy's father in [58:40] any way shape and form ultimately Lucy [58:43] has no clue nor reason to believe any of [58:45] this yet she buys in fully a huge [58:48] betrayal of the way they built her [58:49] throughout they imply her connection to [58:51] her mother is stronger than with her [58:53] father this is despite the fact that she [58:55] spent the vast majority of her life with [58:57] her father and not her mother it's [58:59] actually extremely annoying that Lucy is [59:01] convinced by such a shitty story you see [59:04] her mother realized there was a [59:05] civilization outside because their water [59:08] was being siphoned off when that can be [59:10] explained easily by a loss of water [59:12] through damage through someone siphoning [59:14] it from within the Vault or through some [59:16] animals getting at it in fact there are [59:18] countless explanations before thinking [59:20] Humanity has reemerged besides the show [59:23] supports that she was correct but Vault [59:25] 33 is in the middle of a wasteland [59:27] desert there's no town for Miles who is [59:30] actually siphoning the water what was [59:32] happening and even if it were happening [59:34] Hank was absolutely right do not wander [59:36] the [ __ ] radiated Wasteland to Simply [59:39] check if there are people outside and if [59:42] you decide you have to you need to [59:44] confirm it's safe do not randomly [59:47] endanger the children are you insane in [59:51] any case if Rose truly believed there [59:53] were people outside that she just had to [59:55] get to then why does nobody else in the [59:57] vault know this story why is it that [59:59] Rose would have left with the two kids [60:01] and not told anyone about this [60:02] incredible news would she not convince [60:05] them as part of the goal of the Vault [60:07] that they need to get out there and [60:08] restart civilization wouldn't she at [60:10] least leave them a note nobody should be [60:13] buying this story and it's a Pity Lucy [60:15] does though not the only instance [60:18] considering she also bought the story [60:19] from Vault 4 after a few seconds of [60:21] explanation and a contextless clip it's [60:24] as though despite her stating other wise [60:26] that she has no idea people can lie [60:28] she's also supposed to be so Adept at [60:31] conflict deescalation along with [60:33] experiencing some of the worst pieces of [60:35] [ __ ] in the Wasteland I guess she didn't [60:37] listen to the ghouls advice as what [60:39] people say they [60:41] did and what they really did somehow [60:44] we're now at a point where people who [60:45] spend the entire show dead are being [60:47] assassinated as well look if you want to [60:49] have it so that she realizes she can't [60:51] even trust her father as some kind of [60:53] Arc you can't have it so that mava the [60:55] Hy murderer convinces her he's a piece [60:57] of [ __ ] that doesn't make any [ __ ] [61:00] sense and it's indicative of the [61:02] absolute laziness of this script and no [61:04] I'm not even in the adjacent dimension [61:06] of accepting Lucy unlocked all of her [61:09] memories and realized the truth when she [61:11] saw mother ghoul as an explanation when [61:13] it comes to something this important you [61:15] cannot rely on your garbled perspective [61:18] of your own early childhood memories [61:20] especially when someone you absolutely [61:22] cannot trust who has a vested interest [61:24] in you joining her side is manipulating [61:26] you and what a convenience that the [61:28] six-year-old simply didn't remember any [61:30] of it before now consequently it would [61:33] have gotten in the way of the story [61:34] otherwise but of course they then later [61:36] have Cal mclin confirm it all through [61:38] just the shittiest dialogue they rushed [61:41] the end and as a result Lucy is just a [61:42] tool of the writers to encourage a sense [61:45] of haha Fish Out of Water but oh wow [61:47] deep character realizes father bad wow [61:50] oh boy this Wasteland is tough but hey [61:52] that's okay we haven't gotten to the [61:54] best character yet have we the [61:56] if we fast forward to when he's in the [61:57] town it's so strange that he's willing [61:59] to attack basically everybody when if [62:01] they get one shot in his head he's just [62:03] dead which by the way is very easy for [62:05] anyone to pull off but they don't it's [62:07] kind of crazy because he just shoots [62:09] everybody but when it comes to Lucy no [62:11] no no no he'll consider He he'll think [62:13] about it which is odd considering his [62:15] history you'd think Vault dwellers are [62:17] not exactly people he cares about that [62:19] much I mean we see him try to kill her [62:21] several times it's just that whenever he [62:23] has a chance to actually do it he [62:24] doesn't in any case after Mr Maximus [62:26] tanks the shot for Lucy Mr ghoul over [62:29] here decides he's not going to stop I [62:31] was trying to count it in the scene I [62:32] think he fires nearly 30 rounds at the [62:35] power armor it's absolutely [ __ ] nuts [62:37] mainly because they don't do anything [62:39] the only reason he has a chance at [62:41] surviving this fight is because Maximus [62:43] is [ __ ] and he gets his foot stuck [62:45] though it is curious that the ghoul [62:46] wants to defeat maximus in a one-on-one [62:48] and spends 30 shots on him not killing [62:51] him it's almost as though he's unaware [62:53] of a very obvious weak spot that he [62:54] could take advantage of seriously he [62:56] keeps chucking him instead of crushing [62:57] his head so anyway when catching up to [63:00] Lucy she's accidentally had the head get [63:02] eaten by some giant fish thing this [63:04] means the ghoul tries to use hair as [63:06] bait to get the fish up so he can try [63:08] and get access to the Head oi you [63:10] [ __ ] goober are you aware that bait [63:12] is supposed to be on the hook for this [63:14] to work oh wait we can't do it that way [63:16] cuz Lucy would have died unless you luck [63:18] out and it just eats the hook how the [63:20] [ __ ] you strong enough to pull that out [63:22] of the water what unfortunately because [63:24] he's a hyper [ __ ] he leaves his vials [63:27] in his bag next to the girl next to the [63:30] monster like look at this shot here he's [63:31] left his bag which has all the material [63:33] that prevents him from going feral right [63:35] in the middle of the fight between the [63:37] girl and the giant fish so unfortunately [63:39] the vials get destroyed my goodness what [63:43] sudden and dilapidating retardation [63:45] maybe he would have had better luck if [63:47] he just shot the [ __ ] thing with his [63:49] gun instead of trying to poke it there [63:51] wouldn't be any concern of damaging the [63:53] head when he's a sharpshooter and [63:55] there's a a difference between this [63:56] thing's head and its stomach however [63:58] lucky for him when he trades the girl [64:00] for vials she does that whole insane [64:02] escape and then she provides vials to [64:05] him he gets enough so that he can [64:07] actually get into the Super mod and take [64:09] advantage of a full chest of vials he [64:11] starts putting them in his [ __ ] hat [64:13] just take the chest anyway he sleeps for [64:15] just too long and gets knocked out and [64:17] kidnapped by people who want him dead [64:19] though he doesn't die [64:21] because they're [ __ ] yay you did yes [64:26] why not have him be dumbb the lucky [ __ ] [64:28] is then allowed to sew his finger back [64:30] on and then they try to kill him and he [64:32] somehow escapes [64:34] because what can I even say the funny [64:36] thing is they want to kill him for what [64:38] he did at the super duper Mt but he he [64:40] didn't do it he could have said he [64:42] didn't do it there was nothing to lose [64:43] it almost comes across as him covering [64:45] for Lucy but he could just make up a [64:47] person that attacked the place he could [64:49] you know lie and say he stumbled in [64:51] after which is actually partially true [64:54] it felt like there was nothing that was [64:55] going to drag him into the main story [64:57] again so they had to just spawn these [64:59] guys and spawn them they did and kill [65:01] them he did only to then spot a wanted [65:04] poster of mulva someone he recognizes [65:07] from his past but then why the [ __ ] is [65:09] this the first time he's seeing this [65:11] he's a bounty hunter she's famous you're [65:13] telling me he gets woken up and [65:15] discovers as much information as he can [65:17] on a bounty that was spread across six [65:19] agencies but he's never come across Mula [65:22] AR we told several times that she's like [65:25] world famous this is the first he's come [65:27] AC okay whatever fine he then somehow [65:30] found and killed Rufus a man who was [65:32] sent by molda to pay Tommy who he then [65:35] also found to find out where Mula is the [65:38] ghoul then kills Tommy because Tommy [65:41] wanted retribution for his brother [65:42] something the ghoul predicted but then [65:45] he turns his back and slowly walks away [65:47] from the father whose Sons he just [65:49] killed I guess there's no worry of [65:51] Retribution there the next significant [65:53] time we see him he kills a whole [65:55] Battalion of Brotherhood including three [65:58] power armor suits by hitting them in [65:59] their weak spots the way they edit it [66:01] you'd be forgiven for thinking he killed [66:03] like seven of them absolutely sad and [66:06] pathetic if you're so good at killing [66:08] them why'd you waste 30 shots on Maximus [66:11] and don't give me that [ __ ] about [66:12] armor piercing rounds [ __ ] [66:14] clearly has those same rounds in Philly [66:16] and even if he didn't why did he then [66:18] retardedly spend 30 shots on Armor he [66:20] knows he can't penetrate it's not like [66:22] ammo is precious in the Wasteland anyway [66:25] the ghoul has Hank on the ropes and [66:27] chooses not to shoot him in the weak [66:28] spot instead grazing him in the face [66:31] when this is lampshaded as antithetical [66:32] he says he's going to follow him like a [66:34] stuck pig which first of all is not how [66:37] he's done anything in this season but [66:39] second why not get your answers now how [66:42] the [ __ ] you going to follow him you [66:43] didn't shoot him with a Tracker you [66:45] grazed his face which takes us to the [66:47] end of this season for the ghoul he's [66:49] going to chase Hank and he's going to [66:50] take Lucy with him now for some reason [66:52] he's also got dog meat like if I was to [66:54] trace this story he stabs the dog to [66:57] death he then stimpacks it back to life [66:59] he then ditches it at the spooky monster [67:02] head sequence which doesn't make any [67:04] sense they want me convinced the dog [67:06] will follow him this far but then she [67:08] just decides to stop as he slowly walks [67:10] away after the giant fish pot regardless [67:12] the ghoul then picks the dog back up [67:14] because he coincidentally stumbles [67:16] across here in a nacac cola coola thingy [67:18] I assume from there the dog will be His [67:20] companion in season 2 but like did the [67:22] writers watch the show the dog was [67:24] brought up in entirely by Wilzig she [67:27] would have loved him more than anything [67:28] entirely as loyal and as passionate as [67:30] one would expect a dog to be the ghoul [67:32] injured the hell out of Wilzig and the [67:34] dog attacked him for it he get the stab [67:37] he then provides the instant heal which [67:38] she's not going to understand and she [67:40] doesn't continue attacking the guy [67:42] [ __ ] stabbed her shot her master the [67:45] dog would not show trust or loyalty to [67:48] the [ __ ] ghoul the worst part is how [67:50] the dog doesn't seem to give a single [67:52] [ __ ] about wiig's well-being she just [67:54] moves along to team up with the ghoul [67:56] none of this is emotionally satisfying [67:58] and none of it makes any sense I think [68:00] there was an idea of the dog following [68:02] wiig's sent to his body hence the [68:04] ghoul's reaction here to now having a [68:06] lead only that falls apart because if it [68:08] were true he obviously would have caught [68:10] up to Luc and Wilzig considering how [68:12] ridiculously slow they were moving [68:14] instead they show them leaving at [68:16] nighttime why that means they waited so [68:19] long they didn't leave until Wilzig had [68:21] died if the dog wanted to find her [68:23] master then why is she not only not [68:25] attacking the ghoul but waiting around [68:28] for him they even want you to think the [68:29] ghoul is using the dog to find the head [68:31] through her interest in following Wiig [68:33] scent in episode 7 the scent of this [68:36] [ __ ] head I feel like they knew they [68:38] just had to have a dog and didn't give a [68:40] [ __ ] to write anything for here because [68:41] people like dogs and it's a reference to [68:43] dog meat and that's enough just more [68:45] wasted potential anyway the ghoul is [68:47] just carried by Walton Goggins everyone [68:49] knows that it's got nothing to do with [68:51] his journey or how it's written he's a [68:53] guy who can make a scene work no matter [68:55] how much stupid [ __ ] is happening in it [68:56] I am genuinely thankful he made the show [68:58] more bearable and let's be honest it's [69:00] hard to assassinate someone like the [69:01] ghoul because he just does anything [69:03] anyway there's not many actions he can [69:05] take that someone can say is [69:06] definitively out of character but [69:08] believe me before the series is over [69:10] they will find a way personally I [69:11] couldn't give less of a [ __ ] if he finds [69:13] his family but then I struggle to care [69:15] about anyone in this show maybe I'll [69:17] find substance in Cooper we'll get to [69:19] him soon enough the ghoul however is [69:21] hollow entertainment something I welcome [69:24] in this bog I'm just happy to see Walton [69:26] goggin shooting people in great makeup [69:28] while acting you probably get two [69:29] worthwhile scenes the first being his [69:32] reflection on his past and future though [69:33] this did feel like a scene that could [69:35] have come up in any episode at any time [69:36] it's essentially a meaning freebie to [69:38] bank whenever you want to have the ghoul [69:40] watch his past self play a character [69:42] that would have killed his current self [69:43] in a heartbeat to reflect on his [69:46] corruption as a moment it is solid then [69:48] there's the scene of him shooting his [69:49] friend and eating his flesh the text [69:51] being he just shot him to eat him the [69:53] subtext being he just saved his friend [69:55] from a horrible fate and is ultimately [69:57] being pragmatic about eating him even [69:59] giving him something good to think about [70:01] before killing him obviously reflecting [70:03] on his own potential fate still he could [70:05] have been so much more but in a show [70:07] with characters either entirely lacking [70:09] potential or ending up inconsistent When [70:11] comparing almost every connecting scene [70:13] I find it refreshing that they managed [70:15] to make one that is universally liked [70:16] through essentially the Bass Performance [70:18] they didn't even have to write much of a [70:20] story and to be honest the ghoul doesn't [70:23] really have one but maybe he will in in [70:25] season 2 so yeah those are the three [70:27] main characters the stories are mostly [70:29] them bouncing around random [ __ ] [70:31] happening Until the End suddenly arrives [70:34] their choices what few there are seem to [70:36] be a bit of a lottery and you can see [70:38] it's not so much they want to tell a [70:40] story with three characters going on [70:42] Journeys it's more so that you just want [70:43] to have stuff happen to these people [70:46] random stuff just keep having random [70:48] [ __ ] happen because at some point [70:51] someone might realize nothing's [70:52] happening we could talk about Lucy's [70:54] brother he's another character I suppose [70:57] his name was grimy he stayed in the [70:59] vault and he was demoted for being [71:01] Reckless with the door he seemed [71:03] suspicious of stuff he went over to [71:05] Vault 32 which has not been secured by [71:08] Betty despite her knowing the truth but [71:10] then again maybe she didn't in fact [71:13] what's incredibly odd about the entire [71:15] scenario is the utter disinterest shown [71:17] by Vault 33 as to the situation in Vault [71:19] 32 you'd think that after the raid [71:21] they'd be interested in getting to Vault [71:23] 32 as fast as possible to confirm the [71:25] front vault door is closed and secured [71:28] that was something that in the council [71:29] scene they seemed passionately [71:31] interested in you'd think they'd be [71:32] interested in collecting The Pit Boys [71:34] considering they all act as keys to the [71:36] Vault doors for some reason and maybe [71:37] they'd want to secure the Armory you'd [71:39] think they'd want to just be a tiny bit [71:41] invested in checking to see if anyone is [71:43] alive in there perhaps hiding perhaps [71:45] they need to deal with the dead it's [71:47] honestly bizarre that none of them want [71:49] to check to see what happened I mean the [71:51] water chip gets broken and for some [71:53] reason nobody including smart boy grimy [71:56] suggests using the water chip from Vault [71:58] 32 but like you know they're [ __ ] [72:00] right that's why all of this definitely [72:02] makes sense though considering the [72:05] nature of both Betty and Harper did they [72:07] know was there any interest from Betty [72:10] or Bud as to what the [ __ ] happened in [72:11] there with no contact for so long I [72:14] suppose I'll have to continue on with [72:15] both the idea of Betty knowing and not [72:17] knowing at the same time in any case all [72:20] of what happened in Vault 32 could have [72:21] been revealed but it just isn't if [72:24] anybody ask what we we're all have a [72:25] heart attack like it's really strange [72:27] that he goes over there and discovers [72:29] that everyone's been dead for way longer [72:31] than they could have been if the Raiders [72:32] had killed them all you've got to do at [72:34] that point is you know tell everyone and [72:36] that easily could have happened even [72:38] with Betty knowing that was a potential [72:40] but whatever they weren't lucky enough [72:41] to discover the truth because the people [72:43] who died in 32 only scrolled we know the [72:47] truth and we know what's in there in [72:50] Blood on the walls like what kind of [72:52] [ __ ] discovers the truth and then with [72:55] the goal of informing we know the truth [72:58] on the walls what the [ __ ] is wrong with [73:00] you of course you killed yourself so [73:02] anyway grimy knows something weird is [73:04] going on and it was prompted by the way [73:06] because a Raider said hey you know what [73:08] the Vault 32 people weren't so innocent [73:11] he heard that and then just like didn't [73:13] ask him a bunch of further questions you [73:15] I would personally ask him a bunch of [73:17] questions so anyway then Vault 32 is [73:19] like cleaned up in a day What A [73:22] Difference A Day Made even grimy doesn't [73:25] know how the [ __ ] they pulled that off [73:27] Betty and Hopper couldn't have done it [73:28] on their own we see no Mr handies in any [73:30] of the vaults and if it was Bud that [73:32] sorted it all out I think we're all [73:33] wondering how the [ __ ] that would be [73:34] possible obviously now he's very sus he [73:37] even asks about his mother's pit boy [73:39] because that was used to ENT to Vault 32 [73:41] this by the way is not worrying enough [73:43] to Betty like she doesn't think grimy is [73:45] compromised even though asking about [73:47] that is like it's very obvious that he's [73:49] discovered something in fact I'd argue [73:51] it's downright out of character for him [73:52] to have asked such an incriminating [73:54] question to the the person he's quite [73:56] suspicious of when there's no real [73:57] reason he would expect to get any [73:58] information that would be useful to him [74:00] at all also the Raiders get poisoned so [74:02] there's no more getting information from [74:04] them or using them as proof so then [74:06] Betty splits Vault 33 into two she sends [74:09] the other half to Vault 32 when knowing [74:12] Bud's plan this is bizarre there are [74:15] just 35 people left after all the death [74:18] and destruction with as many as five [74:20] Beyond a viable age that means bud has [74:23] 15 people per vol to restart their [74:26] populations there is no option here [74:29] other than Reawakening many managers I [74:31] suppose that's a problem for season 2 [74:34] something season 1 didn't deal with [74:36] however is Betty and Bud's decision not [74:39] to pursue Hank when his knowledge not [74:41] only allows their key competition to [74:42] unlock Infinite Energy but that she's at [74:44] least somewhat aware of their operations [74:47] and intent but they seem to think that's [74:49] all fine and they can continue as normal [74:52] that's a bit weird why don't they just [74:54] nuke the the NCR again considering the [74:56] characters as written that would solve [74:58] all of their problems have them be dumb [75:00] anyway grimy decides to Simply hack into [75:03] the overseer's account and discuss [75:04] things with the overseer of Vault 31 [75:06] this is an insane breach of secure [75:09] information as well as sensitive data [75:11] that he simply does because he does a [75:12] little video game thing look it's a [75:14] reference it's like the mini game look [75:16] at that that's an excuse to have [ __ ] [75:18] writing I guess nobody thought to ever [75:20] do this in the entire history of Vault [75:22] 33 I also guess there's no no way of [75:25] stopping it brilliant bud has no checks [75:28] no clarifications no secret code or [75:31] message for confirmation nothing secure [75:33] because he's come on he what is he come [75:37] on he's [ __ ] yes you know if it is [75:41] this easy to just hack past [ __ ] then [75:43] why not hack past the code vault tech [75:45] dropped on the cold fusion let's get [75:47] Grim be on that save the whole world [75:49] buddy so grimy gets an invitation to [75:51] Vault 31 and he enters the defenses are [75:54] pathetic IC and the secrets are not [75:56] guarded at all Bud the brain is aware of [75:59] how sensitive this information is and so [76:01] traps grimy in the room the room with [76:04] the information and the controls I guess [76:06] the stupid brain [ __ ] wasn't smart [76:09] enough to just lock the door in the [76:10] first place grimy wouldn't have found [76:12] anything if he just closed that [76:15] door you know something that bothers me [76:17] to no actual end with this [ __ ] is [76:20] that bud just locked grimy in the only [76:22] room he can have leverage in had he [76:24] locked him between the vault door and [76:26] this room grimy is [ __ ] instead in [76:29] here he can threaten to kill managers [76:31] and that would ruin Bud's entire plan [76:34] that he idiotically explained not [76:36] moments ago because the future of [76:38] humanity comes down to one word [76:40] management grimy can also threaten to [76:42] Simply wake them all up to cause chaos [76:45] maybe they would demand to be released [76:47] after what grimy would tell them but you [76:48] know what grimy can just threaten to [76:52] [ __ ] kill bud just pick him up and [76:55] threaten to drop him upside down and [76:57] he'd be dead it's all so [ __ ] [77:00] [ __ ] bud has essentially provided [77:03] him the console I'm sure season 2 will [77:05] handle whatever happens next in a very [77:07] intelligent Way the show is only kept on [77:11] life support by coincidence it is filled [77:14] with them left right and Center [77:17] constantly shoving anything and [77:18] everything on screen whenever the [77:20] writers have run out of gas remember [77:22] this remember this remember this and no [77:24] story not that it had much gas to begin [77:26] with considering Lucy Max and the ghoul [77:29] all happened to meet up at exactly the [77:31] same time and place not to mention [77:33] essentially everything about all the [77:35] characters plot lines take the ghoul for [77:37] example like how he's heading to the [77:39] observatory from this guy's house only [77:41] to end up passing through the exact same [77:43] gas station as thadius allowing him to [77:45] get the dog back or like how Lucy and [77:48] Maximus head back to the entrance of [77:50] Vault 4 to drop off the fusion core in [77:52] mere frames before easily catching up to [77:55] thadius they traveled from here to here [77:58] to here instantly moments like this are [78:02] throughout and they make the Wasteland [78:04] feel [ __ ] tiny I think something that [78:07] bothers me and bothers a lot of people [78:08] to be honest is the fact that there are [78:10] no consequences in this show only it's [78:12] more so that there are no consequences [78:14] most of the time there will be [78:16] consequences when the story is allowed [78:18] to progress for example the water chip [78:21] is broken leaving the Vault dwellers [78:23] with a ticking clock and this doesn't [78:24] doesn't account for the water needed for [78:26] the prisoners don't worry it doesn't [78:28] come up again the funny thing is the [78:29] solution is the water chip in 32 but [78:31] haha it's a game reference they told us [78:34] basically nothing about The Enclave but [78:36] like if that's where Wilzig is smuggling [78:38] the cold fusion from and they're aligned [78:39] with vault tech then how haven't they [78:42] cracked Infinite Energy shouldn't they [78:43] now be the dominant faction in the world [78:45] oh no that will be the Brotherhood of [78:47] Steel because who else would it [ __ ] [78:49] be ghouls now requiring a specific drug [78:51] to prevent going feral is a bit [ __ ] [78:54] because consequently there should be [78:56] barely any nonf feral ghouls at this [78:58] point how are they all going to get [79:00] access to something so specific how did [79:02] they all even find out who is [79:04] maintaining the supply and how the [ __ ] [79:06] did Koopa manage it when he was one of [79:07] the original ghouls the whole show has [79:09] Shing his radiation it'll be allowed [79:11] into the plot when there's a solution [79:13] prepared but other than that [ __ ] it [79:15] pretend it's not there in the world of [79:17] Fallout I think it's weird that Lucy a [79:20] clearly naive idiot Vault dweller is not [79:22] accosted by many people regularly in her [79:24] travels who would simply want to kidnap [79:26] her and find out where her vault is [79:28] since those are essentially resource [79:29] gold mines I also think it's weird that [79:32] someone is careful as Barbara realizes [79:34] that her pit boy is sending out [79:35] information somewhere when the work she [79:37] does is incredibly sensitive and she [79:39] doesn't really care all that much it's [79:41] suggested the boys can figure it out for [79:43] her and she's not interested because [79:44] she's going to find the transmission [79:46] location herself which like what why are [79:48] we not reacting to this for what it is [79:51] that could be Espionage it could be [79:53] [ __ ] company SP Highway it could even [79:55] be Bud doing some weird [ __ ] why the [79:57] [ __ ] would you establish that and then [79:59] have her take it into one of the most [80:00] secret meetings ever conducted [80:03] consequences to switch gears but to stay [80:06] on theme the Brotherhood believe that [80:08] Maximus wanted his friend sabotaged [80:10] which goes against what they believe in [80:12] entirely and instead of returning to [80:14] training he receives a promotion Maximus [80:17] fails his job as a squire several times [80:20] and he ends up with the suit Lucy [80:21] threatens the ghoul and he shoots to [80:23] kill literally any one raising a gun on [80:25] him but when it's here he doesn't except [80:28] of course when Maximus is ready to take [80:29] the bullet do it kill her Maximus [ __ ] [80:32] up his fight with the ghoul [ __ ] up his [80:34] suit [ __ ] up the fight with the people [80:35] trying to steal the suit and everything [80:37] goes all back to normal thank goodness [80:39] the attackers put him in his suit so he [80:41] could kill them otherwise there would [80:43] have been consequences both the ghoul [80:45] and Lucy get their fingers taken off and [80:48] reattached very soon after perfect shape [80:50] size length and that thing looks [ __ ] [80:54] CTIC I guess nobody gives a [ __ ] Maximus [80:57] is shot at in Point Blank Range by two [80:59] people who fire first and he only takes [81:01] one shot to the arm that's healed the [81:03] second he and Lucy look for anything [81:05] that can heal it the second they need it [81:07] they stumble across what is the Fallout [81:09] equivalent of Heaven the ghoul is [81:10] knocked out and kidnapped by people who [81:12] want him dead and through insane [81:14] circumstances he escapes Lucy is [81:16] kidnapped by the robot who's going to [81:17] chop her into pieces and yet through [81:19] insane circumstances she just escapes [81:21] just [ __ ] properly sedate your victim [81:24] like any normal self-respecting serial [81:26] killer robot she ain't going to stay [81:29] still when you're sowing her organs out [81:31] it's a miracle you've harvested anyone [81:33] up to this point I mean from the [81:34] perspective of the robot and you know [81:36] had Lucy entertained for even an [81:38] additional second that she could [81:40] negotiate or run away from the ghoul she [81:42] actually would have easily escaped since [81:44] he would have collapsed right there [81:46] fadus his foot is crushed by power armor [81:48] and for several episodes he just walks [81:50] the Wasteland not bleeding out not [81:52] fainting from the pain how lucky same [81:55] thing with the branding he got over that [81:56] [ __ ] in about 5 [82:00] seconds so pretty hot Lucy attacks and [82:03] disrupts an entire society's operations [82:05] and receives their ultimate punishment [82:07] two we supply of food and water and [82:09] freedom Maximus then steals the source [82:11] of their power and he gets to go free as [82:13] well when thus suggests that he could [82:15] kill the doctor and steal his medicine [82:18] but the doctor says Ah but I know which [82:20] ones will save you and which ones will [82:21] kill you you know what fair enough but [82:23] then he uses the the medicine takes the [82:25] payment and slowly leaves why establish [82:28] you were thinking of taking the medicine [82:29] and the payment and then not address the [82:31] obvious you kill him once he heals you [82:34] hello this scene is so [ __ ] odd is [82:37] Thaddius even the kind of character that [82:38] would kill a doctor a doctor offering to [82:41] save him is that something the [82:43] Brotherhood teach bear in mind thus does [82:45] not know this man [ __ ] chickens and by [82:47] threatening to kill this doctor and [82:49] steal his supplies youve put yourself in [82:51] a position where I would expect him to [82:53] poison you and yet you just swallow up [82:55] that magical [ __ ] also why the [ __ ] [82:58] did you offer the fusion core's payment [82:59] first could you not barter for like 5 [83:02] Seconds despite saying otherwise he [83:04] should be able to offer caps we were [83:06] shown a squire has supplied them you [83:08] could offer elements of your clothing [83:10] you could offer bullets the fusion core [83:11] is so valuable and you're in the [83:13] Wasteland can't you pretend to have a [83:15] brain for like Fu you're [ __ ] right [83:17] right he's [ __ ] I get it I get it [83:18] Fus fires 15 shots at mid-range on Luci [83:21] and Maximus and misses every single shot [83:24] they clearly show Maximus shooting [83:26] directly at the ghoul but they won't [83:27] show any damage when one well-placed [83:29] shot would put him down for good I guess [83:31] he missed all those shots too sometimes [83:34] in the game you shoot it just misses [83:36] sometimes you shoot 15 times and it just [83:37] misses only when characters need to be [83:39] they are suddenly an a shot like when [83:41] Maximus bullseyes the ninja yay or when [83:44] Lucy saves Maximus by killing all the [83:46] radroaches I guess the whole accurate to [83:48] the games thing is a bit flimsy now we [83:50] have plenty of examples of people [83:52] actually succumbing to their wounds even [83:54] Wilzig got a sort of fix for his leg but [83:57] he died soon after but thus was fine for [84:00] ages Lucy gets a stim pack and some [84:02] Staples and she's in tiptop shape [84:04] Maximus on the other hand needs days to [84:06] heal and for antibiotics to take effect [84:08] it turns out it's not at all about being [84:10] accurate to the games it is instead [84:12] accurate to whatever the plot needs you [84:14] have the ghoul acing head shots here and [84:17] there but suddenly sometimes he's just [84:19] unable to kill the main character how [84:21] about that well it's not just here is it [84:23] it's also Max Imus the other main [84:26] character the ghoul himself escapes [84:28] death Against All Odds several times and [84:30] no no amount of telling me that the Dead [84:33] characters versus the alive characters [84:35] are just a matter of who puts stats into [84:37] luck but Muer it's referencing fridge [84:40] boy did get a Jorge oh that's why it [84:42] makes sense Maximus tank a nuke with a [84:45] [ __ ] fridge raise your storytelling [84:47] standards Maximus faces the Wrath of the [84:50] Brotherhood for presumably attacking one [84:52] of his own allowing a knight to die Ste [84:54] stealing his identity sabotaging the [84:56] mission to retrieve the head while not [84:58] accounting for his own Squire that they [84:59] clearly would have seen running away and [85:01] they obviously saw Lucy running away [85:03] with a head they could have chased her [85:05] picked her up and ended the whole story [85:07] right there especially when they know [85:09] the truth about Maximus which Thaddius [85:11] obviously told them about when he called [85:13] them in thus even thanks him for taking [85:15] the head despite knowing it's absolutely [85:17] the one thing Maximus wants it's almost [85:19] as though he doesn't get to be a [85:20] consistent character at all and the plot [85:22] decides every last thought he's allowed [85:24] to have have crazy that so considering [85:26] all of that insane nonsense on top of [85:28] Maximus pleading for his life with the [85:30] knowledge of the head's current location [85:32] he's promoted again Maximus is a part of [85:35] a mission now that's going to lead to [85:37] his highest elevation in terms of rank [85:39] and then DNE is punished by being put on [85:42] this Mission how do you keep punishing [85:43] people with promotions it's so [ __ ] [85:45] they put a [ __ ] ghoul with a pistol [85:47] against three power armored Brotherhood [85:49] of Steel boys and he wins struggled with [85:52] Maximus though huh and then if not the [85:53] best example of an insane amount of lack [85:56] of consequences the ghoul wipes out [85:58] everyone in that room except Maximus [86:01] Maximus is rammed face first into a wall [86:04] thanks to a punch from power armor and [86:06] not only is he not dead he's getting [86:08] promoted again he has managed to stumble [86:12] into the [ __ ] highest ranks of the [86:14] Brotherhood throughout the season no it [86:16] is not satisfying to watch it makes the [86:18] Brotherhood look like [ __ ] idiots [86:20] which is rather well supported in that [86:21] Max can't even hold on to his [ __ ] [86:23] gun on top of that at any moment of [86:25] their choosing a squire can completely [86:28] disable a knight to the point of killing [86:30] them the armor is strong enough to toss [86:31] debris like the Incredible Hulk but [86:33] can't punch a yau to death that just so [86:35] happens to actually die with one shot to [86:37] the head so much for that game accuracy [86:40] we get to a point where Lucy has more [86:42] control than Maximus over his [ __ ] [86:44] power armor and as much as she read [86:46] about power armor in Pre 277 history [86:49] books that doesn't explain why she's [86:50] calling him a knight in episode 2 I [86:52] don't mean to interrupt but was that a [86:55] knight how does she know to say that the [86:57] Brotherhood of Steel is not a pre-war [87:00] organization and then there's the [87:01] smaller stuff that's still just weird [87:04] like how this guy gets shot in the heart [87:06] but the ghoul comments on how he's [87:07] obviously been shot in the neck they [87:09] really want to show us he has four [87:10] chambers in his gun only to have him [87:12] fire seven without [87:16] reloading ghouls can straight up die [87:19] when shot in the shoulder but not if [87:21] you're the main character look at this [87:23] hook throw where the [ __ ] is it going [87:25] what the hell did he wrap it around to [87:26] make it this [ __ ] angle also how can [87:29] you be this fat in the rationing world [87:31] of a vault Lucy mentioned they had a [87:34] famine was that you even that opening [87:36] scene is weird there's the flash from a [87:38] bomb not being picked up by anyone [87:40] because of a flash of a camera that is [87:42] not how that works when the flash hit [87:44] you you could see the x-rays of your [87:47] hands through your closed eyes in the [87:49] process of hands over your eyes you saw [87:52] every bone in your hand that's smoke [87:54] Janie it's just a fire yes Cooper the [87:56] entire city just happened to catch fire [87:58] what what the [ __ ] are you talking about [88:00] then the shock wave finally arrives and [88:02] blasts shots of glass at ridiculous [88:05] speeds into a room full of children and [88:07] nobody's even grazed to then show Koopa [88:09] trying to outrun four nukes on a horse [88:12] instead of getting into The Fallout [88:14] Shelter because he's [ __ ] I grant it [88:16] may be difficult to get into the shelter [88:18] but one would try rather than braving [88:20] the nukes speaking of which I have a new [88:23] topic you see and I quote it's the [88:26] result of this fruit bearing [88:28] collaboration that we're able to make [88:30] America great that is the opening line [88:32] of a discussion between fat cat [88:35] capitalists talking about the end of the [88:37] world you see vault tech sell vaults [88:40] vaults are much better when the world is [88:42] being destroyed if not for the simple [88:45] reason that that's when they're going to [88:46] protect you and so as they say rumors of [88:49] Peace have set us back for sure it would [88:52] seem that the potential financiers of [88:55] vault tech are a bit worried why invest [88:57] in a company that's only valuable during [89:00] wartime besides the Fat Cat don't [89:02] understand vaults won't people just eat [89:04] you when you come back out all of the [89:05] feral Stone Age level people just [89:08] running around eating flesh you know [89:09] well the solution there is that you stay [89:11] in your Vault for so long that [89:12] everything outside dies yes isn't that a [89:15] tempting Prospect they're going to win [89:17] the game of capitalism as they actually [89:20] say by outliving people that is how we [89:23] will win the great game capitalism not [89:24] by out fighting anyone but by outling [89:26] them because capitalism is all about [89:29] killing everyone only there's a problem [89:31] Mr House says oh you can find rats and [89:33] they'll end up eating each other who [89:35] says they'll even survive the vaults and [89:37] so vault tech solution is that all of [89:39] them can play out several ideas across [89:41] more than a 100 vaults to create the [89:43] perfect conditions for Humanity no one [89:45] needs to know how unethical it is May [89:48] the best idea win to which Mr House says [89:51] there's a lot of earning potential with [89:53] the end of the world what the [ __ ] are [89:54] you talking about you stupid Goblin man [89:57] how the [ __ ] is there a lot of money to [89:59] be made at the end of the world that [90:02] would mean the world has ended are you [90:05] [ __ ] we could over crowd of vaults [90:07] so people have to compete to survive [90:10] inside it what the [ __ ] does that idea [90:12] have to do with making money how are you [90:14] this bad of a capitalist you've been [90:16] developing a robot that delivers milk to [90:18] the front door I would like to see a [90:19] vault governed by it delivering so not [90:22] only are they hyper unethical capitalist [90:24] they're also hyper clowns what about [90:26] using a vault to develop a super mutant [90:29] Soldier using illegal immigrants why [90:31] would anyone be excited by that idea [90:34] when trying to increase the capital of [90:36] their company why do they all want a [90:38] post-apocalypse once they're told they [90:40] could experiment with people but [90:42] mutually it's referencing Vault [90:43] experiments from the game I don't give a [90:46] [ __ ] if they are superficially [90:47] referencing something from the game I am [90:49] talking about the writing in this scene [90:52] the characters I am trying to figure out [90:55] how the [ __ ] the acid drenched piss [90:57] Factory masquerading as a brain came up [90:59] with this oh boy they're all just super [91:01] evil which is actually a pretty [ __ ] [91:04] statement considering that if he's on [91:05] board with this whole plan that means [91:07] he's on board with nuking the whole [91:08] world for capitalism believe me my good [91:11] man the more people are alive the more [91:13] markets function the more opportunity [91:15] you have to take advantage of every last [91:17] buck in circulation the better off you [91:19] will be as a fat cat capitalist you are [91:22] not going to benefit from from the [91:24] entire world being nuked and I can't [91:26] believe anyone would have to explain [91:27] this to any of these people but you know [91:29] what at least he had a sliver of [91:31] creative thinking what if they invest in [91:33] the vaults and there is no War what was [91:35] the point of their money then how can [91:37] they guarantee [91:39] results by dropping the bomb [91:42] [Music] [91:45] ourselves it's so stupid why make [91:48] trillions when we could [91:51] make billions people have comp paired [91:54] Fallout as a satire to Austin Powers [91:57] saying that it is no less effective at [92:00] making fun of villainous caricatures [92:02] clearly proving they haven't watched [92:03] Austin Powers in 20 years nor are they [92:06] aware of the concept of tone listen to [92:09] Just the soundtrack [92:12] here I mean look at it Cooper is having [92:14] an existential crisis while realizing [92:17] his wife is Satan this is not Dr Evil [92:20] announcing his desire for sharks with [92:22] freaking laser beams attached to their [92:24] heads why the [ __ ] would you even say [92:26] that you plan to drop the bomb in front [92:28] of an entire Board of people whose [92:30] companies rely on things not being nuked [92:33] do you trust them to not simply say [92:35] you're a [ __ ] monster and I will [92:37] never let you destroy the world or are [92:39] we relying on knowing they are [92:41] capitalists meaning of course if there's [92:43] a buck to be made there's a nuke to be [92:46] dropped for the record I am actually [92:48] okay with the idea that there is a [92:50] friendly bomb being dropped on friendly [92:52] soil if you can just justified in the [92:54] writing what we're being told here is [92:56] our team of capitalist retards think [92:58] they can make the most money ever when [93:00] the whole world is nuked and of course [93:02] if natural tensions and War doesn't [93:04] provide this situation for them they [93:06] will simply nuke themselves to make [93:08] money they are sacrificing Top Dog [93:10] positions in a capitalist Society filled [93:12] with countless people ready to make [93:14] money from so they can run an insane [93:16] nonsense experiment that destroys [93:18] everything because money because in [93:20] countless Generations Earth will somehow [93:22] be better off because as you and I know [93:25] every hyper capitalist on Earth wants to [93:26] end up in a hole with limited resources [93:29] and activities in order to increase [93:30] their bottom line they couldn't think of [93:33] a way to write this this is the most [93:35] cartoonish and [ __ ] possible way to [93:37] justify this Revelation this isn't space [93:40] balls [ __ ] a nuclear event would [93:42] be a [93:43] tragedy but also an opportunity you know [93:46] what would be a pretty good capitalistic [93:48] opportunity a functioning economy when [93:51] we are the only ones left there will we [93:53] no one to fight a true Monopoly [ __ ] [93:56] kill me the ultimate capitalist where [93:58] everyone except me is dead this is our [94:02] chance to make war obsolete yes let us [94:06] make war obsolete because everybody will [94:08] be dead what are you talking about war [94:11] never [94:13] changes [ __ ] if you think War needs to [94:15] be made obsolete because it never [94:17] changes then how do you account for the [94:19] [ __ ] modus operandi of the super [94:22] manager vaults nuking anyone who isn't [94:24] them you have over 100 volts working to [94:27] compete as is your intention you think [94:29] that can't lead to war you think there [94:31] will be no war when even one Vault [94:34] reemerges and repopulates and controls [94:37] the entire world no conflict do you know [94:40] literally anything about humans and I [94:42] know I know I know the writers would [94:44] probably say haaha but that's the point [94:47] the character is wrong that nuking the [94:49] world is a good idea a conclusion [94:52] reached as a result of the corrupt of [94:54] capitalism if I had a character who [94:56] passionately believed we could solve gun [94:58] violence by chopping off everyone's [94:59] fingers and that this is the result of [95:01] the corrupting influence that is the [95:03] peaceful mindset as opposed to the [95:05] individual's values and potential mental [95:07] issues I can then make my show say he's [95:10] wrong too but that character would still [95:12] be a complete and utter [ __ ] [ __ ] I [95:15] hope you guys understand that if I had a [95:17] top hat wearing mustache twirling [95:19] capitalist fat man announced that he's [95:21] going to drink the blood of babies in [95:23] order to a profit in America and make it [95:25] great again and that it turns out he's [95:27] actually just doing it cuz it's fun I [95:29] don't get to say oh but it's good [95:30] because satire satire does not mean [95:33] [ __ ] you don't get points for saying [95:35] capitalism bad socialism bad fascism bad [95:38] or communism bad you get points when you [95:40] do something poignant or intelligent [95:42] with the commentary grow the [ __ ] up and [95:44] write something worthwhile instead of [95:46] telling me that the ultimate capitalist [95:48] goal is everyone being dead except me [95:51] and my team in the vault what a sad B [95:53] [ __ ] pit The Fallout franchise's Dove [95:56] head first into it isn't hard to Lampoon [95:59] capitalism but you make it look bloody [96:01] impossible do the writers even know who [96:03] they work for we are adapting it uh for [96:06] Amazon which is you know not lost on us [96:08] the absurdity of it all it would have [96:10] been so much better had they stuck to [96:12] lampooning corporatism but even then it [96:14] fails as meaningful commentary and how [96:15] absurd they take it without bringing the [96:17] tone with them if this were Austin [96:19] Powers and they had a fat guy wearing a [96:21] top hat and a monocle on Dr Evil team [96:23] who suggested nuking the entire world to [96:26] increase profit margins it' probably be [96:28] really [ __ ] funny but here they [96:30] reveal the plan and the show plays this [96:32] as the biggest most serious dramatic [96:35] realization for the whole story they [96:37] want to be critical of capitalism by [96:39] expressing fundamental values through [96:40] these insane characters as so invested [96:42] in increasing their bottom line that [96:44] they will happily go as far as killing [96:46] everyone the people who wrote this treat [96:48] as a revelation in the show there's a [96:50] series of quotes that relate to the [96:52] ideas of raising cap cap private [96:54] ownership utilizing markets creating a [96:56] market for products that are financially [96:58] unsupported making products out of [97:00] anything everything buying selling and [97:03] well winning all of this churned up with [97:05] the notion of nuking the planet attitude [97:08] towards capitalism which I feel like is [97:09] coming back in a cool way no offense but [97:11] it sounds like some [ __ ] commi [97:14] gobbley go and as if that's not bad [97:16] enough they decided to rope in Mr House [97:18] the fundamental idea is simply too [97:20] broken to function why would anyone on [97:23] this entire board let alone vault tech [97:26] think that erasing 99% of the world [97:28] including the vast majority of all [97:29] infrastructure in all Industries every [97:31] last trade route and system that was [97:32] previously available and all of the [97:34] people who can spend their [ __ ] money [97:35] would lead to a world where they make [97:37] the most money and aside from that the [97:39] many basic pleasures of life are gone [97:41] friends family and social Gatherings are [97:44] significantly cut down and of those that [97:46] would remain they are secluded limited [97:49] and thoroughly [ __ ] miserable by [97:51] comparison then there's the almost [97:52] complete destruction of luxury items the [97:55] loss of lavish vacation spots the [97:57] enjoyment of sports and activities that [97:59] simply won't be available anymore they [98:01] won't have their Awards ceremonies to [98:03] celebrate themselves and freedom would [98:06] be fundamentally annihilated why why [98:09] would any of them seriously consider [98:11] this well because they get to watch a [98:13] 100 people kill each other as an [98:14] experiment in some Vault lucky they all [98:16] want to see [ __ ] like that so much [98:18] they're willing to set the world on fire [98:21] they don't entertain the vaults can be [98:23] an investment that they are an [98:24] incredibly valuable item on the brink of [98:26] War sure but they are valuable as [98:28] insurance regardless people like [98:30] creating owning or buying literal [98:33] Fallout shelters it's not an entire dead [98:35] end hell are we pretending now that [98:37] there was no interest in using Vault [98:39] technology for space colonization but [98:41] the dead end doesn't even make any sense [98:43] because they established vault tech has [98:44] so much power it can direct the [98:46] government so the US government has [98:48] outsourced the survival of the human [98:49] race to voltech voltech is a trillion [98:51] dollar company that owns half of [98:53] everything and after 10 years of war the [98:54] US government is Broker Than a joke if [98:56] we are to believe vault tech acts as a [98:59] contractor for the government we know [99:01] there are many contractors in the world [99:03] that work directly for the US that [99:05] create tools systems and weaponry that [99:07] may never get used this doesn't work the [99:09] same way as a supermarket selling [99:12] [ __ ] chicken this is a major project [99:14] contracted for a feared eventuality and [99:17] vault tech did their job and would have [99:19] been paid thoroughly this is not just a [99:21] project for impending War but a project [99:23] for the entire future of humanity the [99:26] military-industrial complex is no less [99:28] primed for criticism as any large [99:30] governmental system but this show can't [99:32] even grasp the very basic form of what [99:34] it's criticizing capitalism which is a [99:36] shame because Fallout as an IP as we [99:39] know from history is primed and ready to [99:41] tackle this what they think they [99:43] achieved with this part of the show was [99:44] the very simple logic of Peace leads to [99:47] vaults making less money so let's nuke [99:49] the world to create demand for them [99:52] killing almost everyone destroying [99:54] civilization and ending the very concept [99:57] of any functioning Market in order to [99:59] Lampoon capitalism you didn't write good [100:01] satire you wrote a depressed teenager's [100:04] backward ass thesis on cartoon economic [100:06] systems with no more value than a [100:07] rotting meme on Tumbler look Board of [100:10] crazy characters just ask yourselves [100:12] even ignoring the Apparently far too [100:14] complicated concept of supply and demand [100:18] once you destroy the world and make all [100:21] the money what are you going to buy buy [100:24] what can you buy there's still so much [100:27] left for example our All American Cowboy [100:30] who does eventually become the ghoul [100:31] starts this show in his movies killing [100:34] commies I hope you like the taste of [100:36] lead you Comm son of a [ __ ] [100:38] unfortunately for his show Bob is fired [100:41] and the writing is getting worse Bob's a [100:43] bit of a communist communist our little [100:47] capitalist Cowboy then starts to promote [100:49] vault tech strong enough to keep out the [100:51] RADS and the Reds [100:54] if I may say I I you all are doing um [100:57] God's work here only as time goes on he [100:59] starts to lose faith in promoting [101:01] voltech he finds out he's helping to [101:03] promote Bud Askins yes the very same [101:05] buds buds man you see Cooper fought in [101:08] the War and he was provided westtech [101:10] power armor suits that failed through [101:12] design flaws in any case this is where [101:14] Bud talks about how time is the ultimate [101:16] killer anyway as Coupe decides to go [101:18] further with these ads he starts to lose [101:21] opportunities actors shun him and he get [101:23] as many movie deals it seems he's almost [101:25] selling his soul to capitalism and [101:27] everyone who's critical of his failing [101:29] principles is being called a red [101:31] including an old friend of his Charlie [101:33] White knife but what's crazy is he [101:35] served with Charlie how is it possible [101:36] that he's a commie son of a [ __ ] [101:38] Hollywood Reds you even got your friend [101:40] Charlie White knife are you kidding me [101:42] Charlie but at least he has Matt Barry [101:44] as a friend you're a product I'm a [101:45] product the end of the world is a [101:47] product to those of us who can [101:49] successfully Embrace that I'd say the [101:51] future is golden I'm having trouble [101:52] figuring out who the good guys and the [101:54] bad guys are anyway Cooper's wife [101:56] explains that she's working with Cooper [101:58] and vault tech despite all of the [102:00] horrible ethical implications because [102:02] she wants a good slot in the vaults [102:03] Cooper obviously points out he's super [102:05] rich so that's unnecessary they could [102:07] just buy one anyway but she says she [102:09] wants a good spot in one of the good [102:12] vaults that is an incredibly suspicious [102:14] thing to say and unfortunately for the [102:16] audience coper is a [ __ ] and doesn't [102:18] ask her anything else about that Koopa [102:20] then meets up with his friend who [102:21] explains to him what fidu AR [102:23] responsibility means that the US [102:25] government have outsourced the survival [102:27] of the human race to voltech and voltech [102:29] is a private corporation that has a [102:31] fiduciary responsibility it must make [102:34] money for its investors and how does it [102:36] make money and how does it make money by [102:38] selling vaults that's called capitalism [102:40] Charlie oh boy yes it is but you can't [102:42] sell vaults if peace happens so in this [102:45] case capitalism needs War it has a [102:49] fiduciary responsibility to prevent [102:52] peace yeah how are they going to do [102:54] that I don't know well you see vault [102:57] tech has a lot of power so the world may [102:59] just burn down if the people don't do [103:02] something about it our little capitalist [103:03] Cowboy is now having a bit of trouble [103:06] understanding his own principles so he [103:07] goes to one of these communist meetings [103:10] communist meetings come on man you [103:12] should come to a meeting you should [103:13] learn the truth about where your wife [103:14] works and those principles how much did [103:17] vault tech pay to take them off your [103:19] hands you see he sold out to vault tech [103:22] he's he sold his Integrity to ads but he [103:26] has a worthy rejoiner in that he points [103:28] out I'm not ashamed to earn a living [103:30] there's a lot of money in selling the [103:32] end of the world yeah apparently since [103:34] that motivates all the capitalists in [103:36] this [ __ ] show well I'm sure there's [103:38] a lot of money in selling a political [103:40] ideology that ends in breadlines fascist [103:42] okay they called him a fascist how do [103:44] you know my wife my research company was [103:47] acquired by her division so moldava here [103:49] explains that it was actually koopa's [103:52] wife that bought out her cold fusion [103:54] technology she was literally going to [103:57] solve energy and Barbara from voltech [104:00] stopped it capitalism she apparently had [104:03] multiple companies working on this she [104:05] would have saved the world but vault [104:07] tech remember they they want to blow [104:08] everyone up so they don't want infinite [104:10] energy to get to anybody did you ever [104:11] wonder why as a writer of course that [104:14] when trying to tell the story of the [104:16] capitalists nuking their own planet and [104:18] the Communists being the greater good [104:20] you had to write in what is tantamount [104:22] to [ __ ] magic it's getting to the [104:25] point now where vault tech are so evil [104:27] that they will do anything for money [104:29] unless that thing is also helpful to [104:31] people they could patent and sell [104:33] infinite energy to everyone on Earth and [104:35] instead they want to [ __ ] blow it up [104:37] in any case she's trying to convince [104:40] Cooper that his wife is a monster she is [104:42] by the way but that's besides the point [104:43] she wants him to spy on her to learn the [104:46] truth that the wife is a horrifying [104:48] capitalist that our capitalist Cowboy [104:50] here is a useful [ __ ] idiot who [104:52] doesn't even know how economic systems [104:54] work hey I wasn't the one who said it do [104:55] you know what fuci your responsibility [104:57] means I have no [ __ ] idea I play a [104:59] cowboy for a living and hey maybe he [105:01] should consider switching sides I mean [105:03] the conversation does end with this [105:05] Banger I'm not a communist Mr Howard [105:07] that's just a dirty word they Ed to [105:09] describe people who aren't insane this [105:11] line comes from the character who bleeds [105:14] out desperately trying to provide the [105:16] people freedom and power she's [105:18] absolutely the show's Hero by the end [105:20] it's [ __ ] fascinating so she [105:23] convinces him to spy on his wife which [105:26] he does giving you the capitalists [105:28] decide the most money they can make is [105:30] at the apocalypse scene which then [105:32] connects up with the prologue he is no [105:34] longer with his wife out of principle he [105:36] stops doing ads with vault tech but he [105:38] isn't back in movies presumably because [105:40] of what he mentioned earlier about [105:41] actors not respecting him anymore our [105:43] Cowboy capitalist who began shooting [105:45] commies and accusing people of being [105:47] Reds has now been flipped come on Dam [105:52] pinko [105:53] yeah he still took my money and the next [105:55] time you see him he's red how about that [105:58] red that's red this plot line is once [106:01] again worthwhile because Walton Goggins [106:03] treats it seriously he's convincing as a [106:06] man who is genuinely trying to learn [106:07] more and make the right decision [106:09] unfortunately it's no less filled with [106:11] nonsense than every other part of the [106:13] show first of all if vault tech have [106:14] enough corporate power and money to [106:16] change and direct policy in the [106:17] government to the point of starting a [106:19] [ __ ] War then surely they have enough [106:21] power to Simply envelop the market just [106:24] buy out everyone else in every industry [106:26] become the market which by the way when [106:29] including loopholes would be a far more [106:30] accurate and interesting lampooning of [106:32] potential holes in corporatism and [106:33] economic systems hell it could be [106:36] interesting to have a character that's [106:37] essentially a reluctant president at [106:39] that point the president of the United [106:41] [ __ ] States of America who do you [106:43] think I was talking about the [ __ ] who [106:45] is what I should kick your [ __ ] ass [106:47] who is this but oh well they want to [106:49] make more money and so the dirty [106:51] capitalists will encourage total nuclear [106:54] Annihilation okay Cooper spends most of [106:57] it well acted sure but he's far from a [106:59] Discerning human being acting within his [107:01] own values and interests he simply [107:03] believes communism lady that the device [107:05] she gives him allows him to hear the [107:07] truth from his wife unfortunately he's [107:10] too brain dead to realize a woman who is [107:12] in Direct Corporate competition with his [107:14] wife who is ideologically opposed to his [107:17] wife and has expressed interest in [107:19] sabotaging voltech including his wife [107:21] just handed him what she called a [107:23] listening device and he doesn't even [107:25] entertain that she's the one who will be [107:28] listening he has no idea who is [107:30] listening Beyond him and he has no idea [107:32] whether she did this to Simply use him [107:34] she doesn't even say it's compatible [107:36] with the pit boy she just said it's a [107:37] listening device he's such a dumb [ __ ] [107:40] gullible idiot that he actively helped [107:42] perform corporate Espionage on behalf of [107:44] a communist that directly harms his own [107:46] wife it leads to him discovering that [107:48] vault tech intends to blow up the world [107:51] that's pretty stupid but let's go with [107:52] it why did he not use his incredible [107:54] star power and influence to tell the [107:56] world could you imagine how many people [107:59] would want this story The Very spokesman [108:01] the very poster child the pit boy [108:04] himself is turning on vault tech it's [108:06] almost as though he didn't even try to [108:08] stop vault tech from enacting this plan [108:10] did he not warn people that the vaults [108:12] are intended as [ __ ] experiments [108:14] including but not limited to torturing [108:16] people it's very weird that he'll go as [108:18] far as leaving his wife for her immoral [108:20] decisions but he wouldn't warn the world [108:22] of a [ __ ] thing and then of course [108:23] how do you think you can have Barbara [108:25] rant and Rave about how she's doing all [108:27] of this every last part of it to protect [108:30] her daughter to then [ __ ] have the [108:31] nukes go off with her daughter facing [108:34] the brunt of four of them unless she [108:36] truly didn't care cuz it really was [108:38] about getting that grand capitalistic [108:40] Monopoly after all I just why would [108:43] vault tech not be fundamentally [108:46] interested in infinite energy why [108:48] wouldn't they finish up cold fusion and [108:50] use it for themselves as a way of [108:51] boosting their capitalistic Empire could [108:54] you imagine the sheer power they would [108:56] have as heads of a clean and infinite [108:58] energy they could patent it and use it [109:01] to go to the stars but nope they instead [109:04] want to be crammed into a hole in the [109:06] ground causing Untold pain to random [109:08] people it's a Pity that as a result of a [109:10] war hard fought the manifestation of [109:12] distrust for the people of the Fallout [109:14] World in using communist as an average [109:16] insult has now become a wedge for the [109:18] writers of this show to drool their [109:20] awkward dissertation on the true blight [109:22] of human ity for you see in actuality [109:25] the capitalists are the ones who want to [109:27] drop bombs on America makes sense then [109:30] there's the multitude of shitty dialogue [109:33] you're a coward we all are [109:35] Norm that's why we live in a vault your [109:38] ancestors lived in a vault to avoid [109:40] being blown apart by capitalist nukes [109:43] you live in one because you were born [109:44] here and now you want to help this woman [109:46] raise a fatherless child that is not [109:49] cowardice you Dopey [ __ ] goon why [109:51] even pick chat to say the coward line [109:53] when he was the only one to offer to [109:55] help Lucy in the Wasteland he's [109:56] literally the only [ __ ] in the [109:58] entire Vault who would leave for her [110:00] they took the door control from him [110:02] because of his decision to help her [110:03] during the raid I got into storage space [110:05] and I hid does that make you angry oh [110:08] you know what I I need to explain the [110:09] idea that smart people getting angry is [110:12] more dangerous than stupid people [110:14] getting angry I know I'll talk about how [110:15] regular boys they they get angry and pee [110:17] on the wall but clever boys oh you don't [110:20] want to see where that can go regular [110:22] boys [110:24] can't get angry and they'll just pee on [110:27] the wall well how about Maximus not [110:29] knowing how his [ __ ] Works gets all big [110:31] and hard like a big pimple and then it [110:32] pops that's actually completely normal [110:35] it's gross there's only so much cringe I [110:37] could take when we are the only ones [110:40] left there will be no one to fight a [110:42] true Monopoly that's called capitalism [110:43] Charlie [ __ ] Ki gobbly go how about [110:46] Fat's backstory they must have worked [110:48] real hard on this one and I quote I got [110:50] beat up a lot and this new guy came came [110:52] in and I said let's beat him up funny [110:55] idea and it worked I was really popular [110:58] it was great I just wish he lived long [111:00] enough to beat someone else up [ __ ] [111:02] kill me speaking of which there is [111:04] plenty of painful humor come back here [111:07] right [111:08] away that didn't work just the weirdest [111:11] circle jerk I've ever been invited to [111:13] but what does molder want with you I [111:14] mean she steals dads he left an [111:17] impression on me that is the gentleman [111:19] who showed me his butthole Lucy mlan [111:21] it's Lucy nope it says Goosey you'll [111:25] never find [111:27] out oh he's going to find out it was [111:29] also really weird that they front-loaded [111:31] a bunch of incest dialogue messing [111:33] around with your cousin it's all well [111:35] and good for kids but I have been unable [111:37] to find a suitable marriage partner what [111:39] I'm not related to after 10 years of [111:41] cousin stuff I'm definitely excited for [111:43] the real thing it's not a sustainable [111:45] long-term sexual practice you [111:48] know yeah I know that's way more [111:51] dialogue than we need to understand [111:52] understand the importance of not [ __ ] [111:54] your family to increase population I [111:55] guess they thought that was too funny [111:57] not to include although it was weirder [111:59] in the marketing and your kids can mate [112:01] with other Vault dwellers it's the best [112:04] dating pool on the planet in conclusion [112:06] I think you should have fun with this [112:08] show enjoy the action scenes or the [112:11] scenes with the explosions or Pit Boys [112:14] in the Wasteland and the power armor [112:15] suits waddling about to be honest I [112:17] don't care what I care about is the show [112:19] being heralded as an example of a great [112:21] gaming adapt ation and a well-written [112:23] story it is neither of these things and [112:26] that's made much worse by the show being [112:28] explicitly Cannon to the games this is a [112:30] product that wants to show you a bunch [112:32] of Fallout iconography that barely even [112:34] belongs to the people who are making it [112:37] your grandma didn't even wanted to blow [112:38] up Shady Sands the first thing that [112:39] bring that up you're like what do you [112:41] want to [112:42] do even if we buy the awkward [ __ ] [112:45] continuity of the implied years of the [112:47] destruction of shady Sands and focus [112:49] entirely on definitive information we [112:52] have have plenty to talk about we're [112:54] careful about the timeline there might [112:55] be a little bit of confusion in some [112:57] places why does the NCR have such a [112:59] limited presence why is Shady Sands in [113:01] an entirely different location why is [113:03] the nuking of one city implied to be the [113:06] destruction of the entire faction [113:08] outside of a handful of people that was [113:10] a moment that landed in the show that [113:12] also moved things forward in terms of [113:15] what's going to be happening in the [113:16] world to Fallout no shut the [ __ ] up [113:18] what happened with the obvious power [113:19] vacuum where were the Hub and junk town [113:21] if Vault 30 1 32 and 33 were so close to [113:24] the Santa Monica Pier both of which are [113:26] NCR Vault 4 is close to Shady Sands and [113:29] anything but secret why don't they come [113:31] up when figuring out what options are [113:32] available to get the water chip in [113:34] Fallout 1 the Master's plan was all [113:36] about cracking vaults and finding pure [113:38] humans to expose to fev to then turn [113:40] into intelligent super mutants his main [113:42] base was south of the Boneyard and he [113:44] was active for years there's no way [113:47] vaults 31 32 and 33 all escaped the [113:49] master his spy Network and his super [113:52] mutants especially when they're all out [113:53] in the open and Vault 4 takes people in [113:55] at random allowing full access to the [113:57] place I can't have a perfectly good [113:59] Prime normal and not make it one of the [114:02] chosen ones now can I after you tell me [114:06] where your vault is the whole show is [114:09] hinged on their own description of cold [114:11] fusion even though microf Fusion cells [114:13] have been an ammunition type for ages [114:15] and serve a very similar function to [114:17] what we're shown granted it's not [114:19] Infinite Energy but even the fusion [114:20] cores are portrayed as such with Vault 4 [114:23] using theirs as a power source for more [114:24] than 200 years and if that's the case [114:27] which is entirely not how they're [114:28] portrayed in the games Mula should [114:30] probably look into this then there's the [114:32] Brotherhood of Steel instead of seeing [114:34] the best warriors in the Wasteland they [114:35] all come across as goofy self-centered [114:38] bumbling [ __ ] the Brotherhood of [114:39] Steel aren't fervent holy Warriors that [114:42] are comprised of only men and throw [114:44] their own people literally to the Bears [114:46] they are a sect of ex-military soldiers [114:48] who decided to rebel against the former [114:50] government and their experiments with [114:51] super mutants they are basically trying [114:54] to retain technology to keep it out of [114:55] the hands of maniacal power hungry [114:57] people and they even help the original [114:59] Vault dwellers in Fallout one apparently [115:01] they now don't teach it or they don't [115:02] know [ __ ] all about vaults as well I had [115:04] no idea people lived in those vaults [115:06] what did you think was in them monsters [115:09] don't know how the [ __ ] that happened [115:11] now the Brotherhood of Steel have simply [115:12] been made into yet another bad guy [115:14] organization and that's even if we [115:15] forget the cannon they pick bloodthirsty [115:18] stupid and pathetic people to promote to [115:20] high ranks they have dramatic Inc [115:22] consistencies in gear to the point they [115:24] forgot their armor has [ __ ] [115:25] flashlights maybe you would have been [115:27] able to kill one ghoul between the 10 of [115:30] you had any of you remembered to use it [115:32] do you really think the power armor [115:34] would just trap its user as though it's [115:35] a [ __ ] coffin when the fusion Coe was [115:37] removed just a blatantly inept [ __ ] [115:40] design floor don't even get me [ __ ] [115:42] started on the power armor they are [115:43] seemingly crap hyper effective and then [115:46] crap all over again in just a handful of [115:48] scenes they have Squires who don't know [115:50] how their [ __ ] work despite making Mak [115:52] sure we understand they wank in front of [115:54] each other you want to make my [ __ ] [115:55] explode now they clearly established [115:58] that weakness is found when damage is [116:00] done to a fellow brother but that's all [116:03] Maximus continues to do with promotions [116:05] being [ __ ] thrown at him left right [116:07] and Center they clear out everything in [116:09] the observatory on site but they decide [116:11] they want to listen to a speech from a [116:13] [ __ ] ghoul a ghoul they hate ghouls [116:17] Maximus himself had a personal powerful [116:20] motivation to blast this [ __ ] [116:22] away on site it's like the show doesn't [116:24] even remember the downright Down [116:26] syndrome boss fight they [116:31] had and I got to say thanks for dropping [116:33] the pridwin into the show real good [116:35] reference it has no substantive reason [116:38] to be there no effect on the future [116:39] events of the season and it could have [116:41] been labeled [ __ ] anything else [116:43] however it has the fun bonus of making [116:44] the railroad and Institute endings of [116:46] Fallout 4 absolutely non Canon thank [116:50] goodness we got the reference remember [116:51] this remember this remember this and no [116:53] story also ghouls aren't Immortal beings [116:56] with Wolverine healing superpowers [116:58] created by drinking magic chicken [ __ ] [117:00] juice they are often slow withered old [117:02] men and women that just so happen to [117:04] live a very long time and are extremely [117:06] resistant to radiation why have this [117:08] take place in California you have so [117:10] much of this world to explore and yet [117:12] you are here again it's like Star Wars [117:15] in its obsession with Tatooine and the [117:17] funny thing is you can easily add to the [117:18] law without stepping on pre-established [117:20] stories if you just [ __ ] off somewhere [117:22] else obviously the Great War was not a [117:25] vault tech inside job it was an [117:27] extension of the Cold War there was an [117:29] ongoing proxy war with America on one [117:31] side and China on the other it is [117:33] confirmed in multiple games and by the [117:36] original games creators that China nuked [117:39] America First that started the chain [117:41] reaction that led to the Wasteland we [117:43] were winning too and then those damn [117:46] Reds launched we barely got our Birds up [117:49] and then there's what they did to Mr [117:51] House give 20 years and I'll reignite [117:54] the high technology development sectors [117:57] 50 years and I'll have people in orbit [118:00] 100 years and my Colony ships will be [118:03] heading for the stars to search for [118:05] planets unpolluted by the Wrath and [118:08] Folly of a bygone generation there's a [118:10] lot of earning potential with the end of [118:12] the world why is it that Mr house was [118:14] only able to mount a suboptimal defense [118:16] of Las Vegas as a result of the bombs [118:18] arriving before the Platinum chip when [118:20] he is now a member of the board and [118:22] fully aware of who is dropping the nukes [118:24] and when [118:27] [ __ ] this show will rely heavily on [118:29] video game knowledge to fill in gaps [118:31] generate head Cannon and excuse awful [118:33] writing yet you are punished for knowing [118:35] anything about the games because the [118:37] show actively [ __ ] with them at every [118:39] turn now that's not to imply the law was [118:41] perfect before this bowel movement [118:43] slithered onto Amazon I understand [118:45] nothing has been perfect for a while and [118:47] bethesa has been [ __ ] around for a [118:48] lot longer than that but man if it isn't [118:51] some of the most egre just free flow [118:53] adaptation vomit that I've seen in a [118:55] long time this next part is something [118:56] I'm going to read out from a user named [118:58] zorz from the character rant subreddit [119:00] the original post will be linked in the [119:02] description the new California Republic [119:04] was created as a direct result of the [119:06] actions of the character in Fallout 1 [119:08] they inspired the daughter of the leader [119:09] of shady Sands to inspire her father [119:12] aradesh to reach out to near Ling [119:14] settlements to organize and work [119:16] together we saw the results of this in [119:17] Fallout 2 tendy is now an old woman and [119:20] the ncr's second president Shady stands [119:22] which was built from scratch not on the [119:24] ruins of an old city had become a city [119:26] they had working crops working water [119:28] purification electricity and following [119:30] the defeat of the original Enclave they [119:32] would keep growing unifying most of [119:34] California with their own gold-backed [119:36] currency ultimately these growing [119:37] tensions grew to a clash with the [119:39] Brotherhood of Steel on the west coast [119:41] whom similarly to the NCR had started [119:43] expanding outwards they disliked the [119:45] propagation of Technology among other [119:47] factions The Enclave had already hurt [119:49] their previous high horse position and [119:51] the NCR was now threatening to take on [119:52] their duties as well only more [119:54] egalitarian and way more liked by the [119:56] average wastelander as they weren't a [119:58] techn feudalistic cult the Brotherhood [120:00] of Steel NCR war was devastating But [120:03] ultimately the NCR left it Victorious [120:05] the remnants of the Brotherhood of Steel [120:07] fled to their remaining bunkers and [120:09] isolated themselves from the world the [120:11] future of California was in the hands of [120:13] the NCR however before the Brotherhood [120:15] lost they slagged the ncr's gold Reserve [120:18] something that crippled their economy [120:20] especially as the bottle cap had been [120:21] favored out to limit the influence of [120:23] the water baronss in the hub but it was [120:24] now forced to have a comeback enter New [120:27] Vegas the last Mainline game by obsidian [120:29] who wrote the NCR at this point the NCR [120:32] is in danger famine alongside resource [120:35] shortages and growth pains have forced [120:37] them to send out Scouts in the hope of [120:39] finding new resources especially water [120:41] and electricity which leads them to [120:43] Hoover Dam and the war with the legion [120:45] while Vegas is open-ended it was clear [120:47] that the NCR did have some troubles [120:49] however it's still a huge Nation even if [120:52] it lost it's not clear it would fall [120:54] especially as their army would have [120:56] shorter supply lines and easier [120:58] reorganization at this point they [121:00] existed for a century enough time to [121:02] create a national identity of sorts even [121:04] if there was unrest and many critiques [121:06] it was not doomed yet now we have the [121:09] Fallout TV show instead of dealing with [121:11] trying to explain what happened or how [121:13] they would have collapsed they were just [121:14] randomly nuked off screen all of the NCR [121:17] seems to be gone Shady Sands at this [121:20] point is apparently a pre-war city as [121:22] well and that's that it's gone the [121:24] Brotherhood of Steel which were at the [121:26] brink of defeat were brought back to the [121:28] pseudo antagonists because God forbid [121:30] the Brotherhood of Steel isn't a major [121:32] player or the most powerful faction [121:34] Around The Enclave is also back which [121:36] while we know Chicago still existed they [121:38] were [ __ ] in their old form in Fallout [121:41] 3 and it just breaks the heart we had [121:43] this faction that while not perfect [121:46] greedy sometimes morally gray but [121:48] overall was a symbol of rebuilding of a [121:50] faction moving on from the [121:52] post-apocalyptic setting that actually [121:54] tried to create a working system and it [121:56] just got deleted it makes me think of [121:58] the sequel Trilogy the new Republic was [122:00] lasered in one movie the achievement of [122:03] the entire original trilogy and we [122:05] didn't get to see it for more than 5 [122:06] minutes sure the NCR could be failing I [122:08] wouldn't mind that being depicted in [122:10] other ways but the Way It Was Written [122:11] just reeks of the same as the new [122:13] Republic a weak gut punch to bring in [122:16] the status quo and the notion of which [122:18] factions should be allowed to have a [122:20] spot or not at this point in Canon the [122:22] entire us is basically just run by [122:24] Brotherhood of Steel factions because [122:26] there are none other left like it's the [122:28] same [ __ ] situation east to west the [122:30] West Coast felt unique because it didn't [122:33] have the Fallout three and four [122:34] Brotherhood of Steel whom grew up into a [122:36] regional power it had other factions [122:38] other groups and [ __ ] seriously this [122:40] just makes me mad as someone who likes [122:42] will building the Brotherhood of Steel [122:43] has interesting culture too but it's [122:45] shown in every single [ __ ] game at [122:48] this point it's barely changing because [122:50] Beth has gone with a mixed douche b/ [122:52] Savia Dynamic with the Brotherhood of [122:54] Steel what is even the difference [122:55] between West Coast and East Coast [122:57] Brotherhood of Steel at this point not [122:58] to mention this exact thing happened in [123:00] dial of Destiny 2o Indy's son was just [123:03] killed off and barely mentioned I get [123:05] this can happen but the way it's [123:07] presented is just jading from nowhere [123:09] and it just feels shallow empty and that [123:12] is the end of the post for those who [123:14] don't know part of why this is so [123:16] frustrating for Fallout fans is that the [123:18] show is Cannon to the games this is not [123:21] a different continuity what they say [123:23] goes for the show goes for the whole [123:25] IP's history when showrunner gram Wagner [123:28] was asked about nuking Shady sanss he [123:30] said quote I think it would have been a [123:32] mistake to go from the retrofuturistic [123:34] America to another America that has been [123:36] fully civilized and the NCR is doing [123:38] everything great we love Deadwood I [123:41] think if there was a fourth season of [123:43] Deadwood there'd be insurance companies [123:45] there'd be traffic and it wouldn't be a [123:46] western anymore we wanted to live in [123:48] that first season of Deadwood space of [123:51] like what's going to happen where is [123:53] everything end quote he also said quote [123:56] it really was our belief also that [123:58] though there are the events of the games [124:00] it's not frozen after that history is [124:02] not static it keeps going and entropy is [124:05] a constant which is a less flashy way of [124:08] saying war never changes end quote [124:10] wonderful let us not remain static in [124:12] history by ensuring every last piece of [124:15] progress is blown back to the Stone Age [124:18] one might assume they have a bias for [124:19] particular eras and particular games and [124:22] if I were the showrunner responsible for [124:24] this compost tornado I would likely want [124:26] no one to be aware of just how much that [124:28] bias had bled into my work I then uh got [124:31] very into 34 and New Vegas um I hope [124:34] that doesn't make fans angry with me who [124:36] prefer one and two but uh don't say your [124:38] preferences I think considering his [124:40] Illuminating comments here the show [124:42] speaking for itself and his quote El [124:44] swear instead of having people be [124:46] awesome why not have them be dumb it's [124:48] become quite clear there may very well [124:50] be a more zealous reason for what we [124:52] have seen But much of it can be [124:53] explained by a set of creators that not [124:55] only have no [ __ ] clue what they're [124:57] doing you know maybe if we were smarter [124:59] we'd be more daunted but part of like [125:01] maybe why we were selected is we were [125:03] just guess enough to uh to wander into [125:06] this they only see value in a [125:08] post-apocalyptic Fallout Wasteland if it [125:10] looks the same forever we can only see [125:13] fledgling communities and partial [125:15] settlements with roaming Bandits scary [125:18] creatures and ruined architecture [125:20] anything progressing any further needs [125:23] to be reset otherwise the entire genre [125:26] is apparently ruined a spit to the [125:29] spirit of the franchise a completely [125:31] embarrassing lack of nuance and a total [125:33] misunderstanding of said genre resulting [125:36] in a broken disaster acting as a tumor [125:38] on a franchise desperate to progress but [125:40] hampered by custodians who couldn't care [125:42] less for its future as long as they get [125:44] to bathe in their own radiation [125:46] capitalism all bethesa want the [125:48] post-apocalypse and they will destroy [125:50] anything that even even looks like the [125:52] post postapocalypse that gets in their [125:54] way regardless the story that binds This [125:57] Together the very thing I am trying to [126:00] assess is [ __ ] balls and deserves no [126:03] respect it is a fumbled [ __ ] swamp of [126:06] malformed idiocy that has no interest in [126:09] respecting your time or investment but [126:11] absolutely hopes you are distracted [126:12] Enough by everything else we have a [126:14] plethora of examples of insane plot [126:17] armor inconsistent and embarrassing [126:19] mechanics character assassinations [126:21] boring stretches of scenes with [ __ ] all [126:23] in them broken World building [126:25] insufficient explanations essentially [126:27] providing us the grand experience of [126:29] knowing [ __ ] all about the Wasteland the [126:31] people there what they think and feel [126:33] about how everything functions or rather [126:35] how it doesn't the Intrigue and reveal [126:37] of Vault 33 wasn't merely the peak of [126:40] wasted potential it was one of the [126:41] stupidest reveals in all of TV history [126:43] the dialogue the atmosphere the editing [126:45] it all needs work the choice to have the [126:48] first episode both inside and out of the [126:50] Vault was a stupid one the reveal of [126:52] Lucy entering the Wasteland is [126:54] absolutely undermined the acting while [126:56] good for several of the participants in [126:58] this circus could use some work in that [127:00] reactions to pain are highly [127:02] inconsistent there are many examples of [127:04] weird or funny reactions when Grievous [127:07] injuries show [127:10] up do you hear that he kind of went H [127:14] however sometimes you get more [127:15] appropriate reactions and then you get [127:17] heavier reactions to things that aren't [127:19] even injuries and let's not forget this [127:21] bang a delivery from ADR Kyle mcclin in [127:23] episode 8 it was everything the Vault [127:25] had promised she is lying I'm a human [127:28] I'm a human male she is lying the gore [127:30] often seems gratuitous instead of [127:32] meaningful and entirely inconsistent I [127:34] am all for Gore but Gore for the sake of [127:37] Gore is kind of boring and edgy and this [127:39] show has that in Spades there will at [127:42] times be just awful CGI when they have [127:44] no excuse though despite feeling fake as [127:46] [ __ ] here and there some sets were [127:48] awesome and the costumes including [127:49] makeup were topnotch which is is almost [127:52] more of a shame oh and I'm not kidding [127:54] there is a full set of Zack Snider [127:56] Wonder Woman yodel for the ghoul it's so [127:59] bad and I'm going to force you through [128:00] all of it [128:02] [Music] [128:09] [Applause] [128:41] [Music] [128:48] and let's not forget how much they [128:50] played maximus's is one flashback I [128:52] experienced it so you have to [128:55] [Music] [128:58] too to hurt the people who hurt [129:11] me your entire life you've been looking [129:14] for a [129:16] home sh s [129:22] Indiana Jones remains can be found [129:24] inside a fridge the characters need so [129:27] much more work in general so much of [129:29] their Journeys are damaged by basic [129:31] interactions jokes attempts at being [129:33] shocking or of course their actual [129:35] developmental scenes being bked from [129:37] beginning to end as though the writer [129:39] has many wonderful ideas but has no idea [129:42] how to make them coherent this of course [129:43] spreads to its themes everyone wants to [129:46] save the world they just they disagree [129:48] on how one being something of an [129:50] exploration of many different Minds [129:52] approaches to saving the world you get [129:54] the approach of nothing but trust and [129:56] care all the way over to getting what's [129:58] yours no matter what saving your own [130:00] world so to speak I find this pretty [130:02] meaningless in that nothing coherent is [130:04] said or understood about how we will [130:06] tend to contextualize saving our fellow [130:08] man or the world we're all a part of [130:10] most of it is random actions by [130:12] characters the writers thought were much [130:14] more meaningful in their Journeys than [130:15] anyone else did with major points [130:17] retaining the subtlety of pulling teeth [130:20] look Vault 31 32 and 33 have to solve [130:22] the Dilemma of dealing with prisoners [130:24] because they usually accept absolutely [130:26] no one look Mula takes in all of [130:29] everyone and her only goal is to provide [130:31] power to the people look Hank just wants [130:33] everyone who isn't him and his to die [130:35] making the world a peaceful place look [130:38] Koopa just wants his family that's his [130:40] world look Lucy just wants to treat [130:42] everyone as she would like to be treated [130:43] look Maximus just wants to be safe comfy [130:45] and happy with Lucy I guess their [130:47] romance was so [ __ ] pathetic these [130:49] explorations of approaches are all [130:51] undermined by Insane actions from the [130:53] characters at every turn and a [130:54] half-baked execution damaging any sense [130:56] of earning any payoff related to them [130:58] Vault 31 32 33 and especially Vault 4 [131:02] should have been taken full advantage of [131:04] by now and their unadulterated presence [131:06] in the Fallout world is almost an [131:07] impossibility alongside their attitudes [131:09] being at complete odds with the world [131:11] they've experienced the leadership in [131:13] all of them have absolutely no worldview [131:15] that comes even close to anything other [131:16] than embarrassingly distorted [131:18] caricatures mava is a foul witch who [131:21] causes more harm to people than most but [131:23] the show completely missed that and [131:25] thought she had a point of view that [131:26] pushed for helping the many at the cost [131:28] of the few when we clearly see her hurt [131:30] people that are not only not in her way [131:32] but that she is supposed to care deeply [131:34] for and then the less said about the [131:35] three main characters the better at this [131:37] point they push even through the [131:39] previously on that this show is all [131:40] about the Wasteland forcing people to [131:42] adapt and change in order to survive I'm [131:45] sure they think this is coherent in that [131:46] Lucy goes from Happy gol lucky to oh gez [131:49] a shot Mama which was the unequivocal [131:51] correct decision here when she is more [131:53] suffering skeleton monster than person [131:56] in any case any sense people have to [131:57] make sacrifices or change their very [132:00] nature in order to survive in this world [132:02] is excessively undermined by every last [132:04] decision in this cinematic steaming [132:06] demon excrement being Infested by [132:08] retardation the show may have said some [132:10] things about trust and how the world is [132:12] made so much worse by a cycle of the [132:14] distrusting in gendering more and more [132:17] distrust that was far from properly [132:19] achieved in Lucy primarily but almost [132:21] all of the characters changed their [132:22] approach to many situations despite [132:24] being at odds with where their prior [132:26] experiences would have influenced them [132:28] and don't even get me started on how [132:29] much they [ __ ] up war never changes as [132:31] a theme holy [ __ ] the show had so much [132:34] meaning to make use of and so much to [132:36] say yet tripped over its many many [132:39] failings to Simply slot itself into a [132:41] garbled mess a foul sewage Katamari [132:45] slathered in Fallout iconography tonally [132:47] speaking this is a train wreck we have [132:50] all kinds of incredibly serious [132:52] deliveries with the writing crashing in [132:54] like a drunken clown looking to beat its [132:56] ideas into the scene whether compatible [132:58] or not the music will sometimes be [133:00] awkwardly placed well before a [133:02] realization damaging the experience of [133:04] learning more about a situation Benjamin [133:07] this is Lucy and Titus hey guys just [133:10] wanted to say hi why the [ __ ] is the [133:12] music so Sinister he's not evil he's [133:14] abnormal welcome to Vault 4 just some [133:18] housekeeping a few things to be aware of [133:20] having one eye is isn't even that huge [133:22] of a deal in Fallout you'd be surprised [133:24] as to the creatures you come across okay [133:26] that should cover it any questions and [133:29] this treatment in many of the scenes [133:31] will make the twists and turns less [133:33] surprising because the music is already [133:35] rushing ahead this while also having [133:37] Stakes as big as death betrayal or small [133:39] misunderstandings all exchanging at [133:41] seemingly random their own tonal [133:43] accompaniment leaving the average viewer [133:45] to Simply say oh boy things are [133:47] happening which explains why people find [133:49] episode 8 so disappointing out side of [133:51] how bad many of the scenes are you see [133:53] when you're being fed structurally [133:55] incoherent imagery and performances it's [133:57] entertaining for as long as it keeps [133:59] going once the ride stops and the [134:02] questions are answered you have to think [134:04] about what you saw and many people had [134:06] no [ __ ] clue what they thought [134:07] outside of having fun which is wonderful [134:10] but not very meaningful and diminishes [134:12] in retrospect now let's talk about [134:15] satire I'm not entirely sure of what I [134:17] have to say when it comes to that aspect [134:19] of this show they certainly want their [134:21] serious impactful cake while eating [134:23] their sarcastic satirical nonsense cake [134:26] too however the problems obviously run [134:28] deeper than anything like that it would [134:30] appear the writers simply aren't [134:32] familiar with the weight of their [134:33] writing versus the weight of the [134:35] presentation of said writing through the [134:36] medium of a TV show you are set to take [134:39] this as a serious yet playful at times [134:42] representation of human beings going [134:44] through hardship learning about [134:45] themselves and acting on values hardened [134:47] by both pre and post-world War yet they [134:50] will say and do do such stupid [ __ ] [134:52] that's entirely antithetical to anything [134:53] they could have an interest in that I [134:55] end up wondering if we randomly trade [134:56] out writers during lines let alone [134:58] scenes for example there is a scene in [135:00] Vault 4 with the overseer that [135:02] essentially goes like this I don't like [135:05] foreign people I hate their smelly food [135:08] their stupid ideas and their annoying [135:10] culture I want to call them names but [135:12] they get offended and so when I do call [135:14] them names and make fun of their history [135:16] I have people upset because they don't [135:19] get my jokes but you have to tolerate [135:22] them in order to be elected I want to [135:24] close off the borders but I can't [135:26] because of policy that existed before I [135:28] came into Power satire watching Lucy [135:31] just star disapprovingly at this boring [135:34] stereotype slapped onto a random [135:36] character that shouldn't even have these [135:37] values whatsoever and bears no [135:39] consequence on anything is as cringy as [135:41] it is forced but I'm sure someone found [135:44] it funny and of course it's nowhere near [135:46] as bad as I'm not a communist Mr Howard [135:49] but all of the people everyone calls [135:52] Communists are right [ __ ] hell we [135:54] used to have examinations of these [135:56] topics that were not only bound to the [135:58] tone of the story but the specific [135:59] subject matter at hand it is genuinely [136:02] incredibly [ __ ] sad that we have [136:04] countless examples of what are engaging [136:06] fun thoughtful extensive dramatic [136:09] comedic and downright [ __ ] [136:11] inspirational stories that relate to [136:13] starzing these topics whereas now now we [136:17] are willing to accept any slop that has [136:19] the right label what seems to have [136:20] happened here is the shitty dramatic [136:22] writing gets full protection from the [136:24] nature of the satirical elements even [136:26] though those suck ass as well this [136:28] defense didn't work for Cinema Sins nor [136:30] did it work for Glass Onion and it sure [136:32] as [ __ ] ain't working here if the [136:34] Fallout show is any indication of the [136:35] quality of satire we have to endure [136:37] these days then maybe Barbara had the [136:40] right idea the fact is we're not making [136:42] an unrealistic absurdist comedy here [136:45] we're making a dramatic satirical [136:47] post-apocalyptic adaptation of a video [136:49] game story with comedic INF fusions [136:51] right that takes skill you can't just [136:54] poop out your Half Baked edgy ideas on [136:56] who the good and bad guys of Life are [136:58] because you have a Fallout skin we have [137:00] several examples of very serious and [137:02] specific dramatic realizations that they [137:04] want to have dramatic [137:08] [Music] [137:14] weight calls me [137:17] Han when certain people die [137:25] when characters go through specific [137:31] hardships they often play the show very [137:34] seriously this is not a show in which we [137:36] just forgive every last [ __ ] [137:38] nonsense bit of writing because satire [137:41] because oh it's not supposed to be [137:43] realistic how about it [ __ ] respects [137:45] itself Hot Fuzz is one of the greatest [137:48] films of all time and it absolutely [137:50] satiz is cop films along with the action [137:52] genre as a [137:56] whole that's what I'm talking about the [137:58] goal was clear the NCR vaults nuca Cola [138:02] stim packs jet Brotherhood of Steel dog [138:06] meat Raiders the pit boy ghouls Airship [138:08] caps junk jet rad roaches ver bird cram [138:11] mini nuke power armor Grog neack [138:13] bobblehead Shady Sands NCR Ranger combat [138:15] armor New Vegas Skyline hacking miname [138:18] water chip protectron robot death claw [138:21] remember this remember this remember [138:22] this and no Story the vast majority of [138:24] the iconography isn't even beers because [138:27] they often [ __ ] everything up they [138:29] couldn't even get the aim of a [ __ ] [138:31] crossbow right or deage a person without [138:33] making them look as blurry as the [138:34] background of army of the Dead get you [138:38] playing basketball with bricks is [138:39] [ __ ] [ __ ] but it's the only piece [138:41] of subtle consistent writing because it [138:43] would take an organization as brain dead [138:45] as the Fallout TV show Brotherhood of [138:47] Steel to not only come up with this but [138:49] to also find it fun you can seriously [138:51] end up in a spiral thinking about how [138:53] [ __ ] the show is like they never [138:55] gave a reason for will zig being the one [138:56] with personal access and use of cold [138:58] fusion they establish ghouls need one [139:01] vial per day to stay sane how are all of [139:04] the ghouls in the world getting that why [139:07] was there no visual check on grimy for [139:09] entering Vault 31 his entire plan falls [139:11] apart if there's just one brain cell [139:13] working on this whole operation look at [139:15] this guy shoots up and then flips in [139:17] editing to shoot this guy and if you [139:19] need any evidence of of how war never [139:21] changes went from a theme to a meme just [139:24] look at how long the pause lasts before [139:26] she says it War [139:33] well war never changes clapped I clapped [139:37] when I saw it Oh you see the ghoul's [139:39] accuracy is a reference to the vet [139:42] system it's actually accurate to the [139:44] games he doesn't even have a pit boy you [139:45] stupid [ __ ] and no no amount of walto [139:48] goblins or Ella pel Alita ey are going [139:51] to convince me this pile of [ __ ] is [139:52] worthwhile TV demand better literally [139:55] all the show had to do was make the [139:57] [ __ ] ghoul reference side quests and [139:59] everyone's tripping over their soy and [140:00] crusted Pip Boy bobbleheads to praise it [140:03] oh boy he typed in the 10th of October [140:05] 97 that's when Fallout one came out the [140:08] game this show couldn't be further from [140:10] just think for a second about how Lucy's [140:12] philosophy is only tested in the sense [140:14] that throughout the show people are mean [140:16] to her and so will she continue to be [140:18] nice to those mean people and people in [140:21] general the writers miss any remote [140:22] sense of exploration of these ideas when [140:25] there are countless examples of books [140:27] shows movies and games that have already [140:29] provided blueprints if Lucy spares a man [140:32] even saves his life and that man goes on [140:34] to kill another man's family a family [140:37] who are trying to help people what is [140:39] her responsibility in that interaction [140:41] will she ever have to face a grieving [140:43] father asking her why will she be [140:45] challenged on the repercussions of the [140:47] golden rule being applied to any one [140:50] person who who then has the very [140:51] opposite effect of it on the next if [140:53] Fallout 1 2 and New Vegas addressing [140:56] philosophy is comparable to a pretty [140:58] good restaurant The Fallout show is [141:00] absolutely the McDonald's of philosophy [141:03] but like all the workers are children [141:05] and they died years ago of Shame an [141:08] absolute gushing waste of money blasted [141:10] onto a project not worth a [ __ ] cap [141:13] also it is outright cowardice that [141:15] Amazon didn't want to mention China [141:17] regarding the law of [ __ ] Fallout but [141:20] thank God they gave us the law origins [141:22] of the pit boy thumbs up for [ __ ] sake [141:24] The Fallout IP as a whole is about the [141:27] failure of pre-war ideas and the Fallout [141:30] of those failures economics religion [141:32] politics tribalism philosophy resource [141:35] Warfare and well human nature greed [141:38] power hunger dogmatism arrogance [141:41] Prejudice callousness The Fallout of [141:43] these ideas now have their descendants [141:45] trying to rebuild in the very same world [141:48] torn apart by an almost inevitable War [141:51] combine that with its dark humor [141:53] thoughtful commentary consequential [141:54] decision- making and the quintessential [141:56] retrofuturistic aesthetic and what do [141:58] you get well you get a loyal fan base [142:01] one that looks forward to every [142:03] installment a fan base that is then [142:05] greeted with this The Fallout show is [142:08] bad and you should feel bad that it's [142:09] being praised to helenback because when [142:11] sludge like this gets recommended it [142:13] puts us in a position of having to [142:15] appreciate adapted piss fumes from what [142:17] could have been nothing short of great [142:19] thank goodness they got the the [ __ ] [142:21] references in there the writing will [142:23] come later I am never going to praise [142:25] this pile of [ __ ] just because it has a [142:27] Fallout skin Amazon and bethesa [ __ ] [142:30] this up big time and it ain't hard to [142:31] see why this is all of Television Now [142:34] you kind of you make it almost to feed [142:36] the conversation online The Fallout show [142:39] has protein in urine and they know it [142:41] for those pointing out that all of the [142:43] bad writing is here because it's [142:44] adapting a video game stop video game [142:47] adaptations don't have to be [ __ ] we [142:50] have so many examples now so many video [142:52] game adaptations being treated with [142:54] respect while nailing satirical elements [142:56] do not eat this diarrhea just because [142:59] there's corn in there this [ __ ] was so [143:01] bad they assassinated the character of a [143:03] [ __ ] dog capitalism is when explode [143:06] Earth communism is when person's sane [143:09] any tiny detail within the games that [143:11] really appeals to you and is important [143:14] to you even if it's something small that [143:16] you want to see on screen just the sort [143:18] of '90s attitude towards capitalism it's [143:21] boring you're boring everybody quit [143:23] boring everyone mark my words this [143:26] Show's fate will align directly with [143:28] that of the Mandalorian season 2 will be [143:31] worse and season 3 will have everyone [143:33] wondering how we got [143:37] here we got here from a shitty season 1 [143:40] Fallout got [143:44] flanderized dad you killed the zombie [143:47] Flanders you was a zombie the sheer [143:49] thoughtfulness breadth and nature of [143:52] this Series has over time been whittled [143:54] away until the surface level iconography [143:56] has become so oversimplified and removed [143:59] of context that it now constitutes the [144:02] entire experience a sad [ __ ] fate but [144:05] not one entirely dissimilar to many in [144:07] our culture this show is the direct [144:09] result of taking the thinking man's [144:11] Fallout games and ignoring their Spirit [144:14] entirely no amount of slow-mo hyper [144:16] violence while playing 50s music or [144:18] Johnny Cash is going to change my [144:20] [ __ ] mind you worthlessly creatively [144:23] bankrupt vampire [ __ ] [ __ ] this [144:25] terrible show steer clear of it if [144:26] you're looking for something new watch [144:28] the gentleman or Shogun or silo or Hell [144:31] watch paint dry it'll be more [144:40] productive well that was bracing wasn't [144:42] it I mean what were we expecting from [144:44] the talent behind that Tomb Raider and [144:47] Captain Marvel regardless thank you for [144:49] watching and I am absolutely not joking [144:51] when I say this video was only made [144:53] possible by many incredibly talented [144:55] people helping to put it together entire [144:57] sections of visuals were created by Goa [145:00] cat hamper Mark the cyborg lazy lensy [145:02] capitalo opinions and indigo gaming you [145:05] guys are all absolute Legends thank you [145:07] so much for helping me get this project [145:08] completed I also want to give a thank [145:10] you to the many people who reached out [145:11] with Fallout law I got a hand from many [145:13] users on Discord too considering I am [145:16] nowhere near an expert but I think this [145:18] video needed to get out there this was [145:20] an insane nightmare project for me done [145:21] in record time to have a place to point [145:23] to when it comes to discussing this show [145:25] and its flaws and make no mistake this [145:27] Abomination [ __ ] melts the more you [145:30] think about any damn moment the more you [145:32] watch any damn scene believe me I know [145:35] it's a project no worse than the Halo [145:37] show in many ways however here the music [145:39] the aesthetic and the performances have [145:41] shielded it to the degree that it is as [145:43] critically acclaimed by some as [ __ ] [145:46] Arcane that's deranged fans of The Lord [145:49] of the Rings out write rejected rings of [145:51] power and I fully recommend Fallout fans [145:53] do the same with this trash anyway if violence in your [147:06] movies if you only let the bad guys use [147:07] it the bad guys win oh no the writers [147:10] are fans of movie Bob
