[00:01] of the easiest healers to start with and I would agree. But like all healers, the skill ceiling is quite high and healing is technically I think the hardest role in World of Warcraft. That being said, I think holy priest is a great way to [00:14] and this is coming from somebody who plays preservation and discipline priest and mistw weaver all the time. So if you're trying to learn some holy priest, strap in. It's going to be roughly 10 to 15 minutes till I think you can go [00:27] running off to a key and having fun. But if you stick around after that, we'll go over the crowd control, the bigger cooldowns, and some of the utility spells. But and like most of these videos, you can follow along down below [00:39] with a talent set that I'll provide. But that being said, there's a lot to Priest. So, you might not stick with these talents forever, but I want you to start here and experiment and have some fun. My name is Bowser the Healer, and [00:53] let's get into Holy Priest. Before we go into our core healing spells or anything, I'd actually like to review our mastery. Your direct healing spells heal for an additional mastery percentage over 4 seconds. This works on [01:07] basically every spell you cast. When you throw out a heal on someone, it provides your mastery, right? Your renew doesn't, right? Your heal overtime effect won't, but everything else you do is going to provide a tiny little mastery piece or a [01:22] gigantic amount of mastery. This is the bread and butter of Holy Priest. going to get a heal over time effect attached to it, helping you top off go to a new target, and let some work [01:36] theme with this spec. Let's start with the first basic three spells. Flash, heal, heal, and prayer of mending. Starting with flash, heal, and heal. These are your basic go-to healing [01:49] spells. Flash Heal is a kind of mana expensive move that casts pretty quickly and heals the target. There's not a lot to say here. It just works. It does a healing. It's strong. What's not to love? Heal, on the other hand, is a [02:05] slightly slower cast time move that hits a little bit harder. But while it isn't necessarily the most mana positive move, it is more mana efficient than slamming flash heals back to back. The problem is that heal is pretty significantly slow [02:19] when it's not boosted. But because of a talent lightw weaver, whenever we cast flash heal, we're going to get a stack of lightweaving up to four. This makes our next heal cast quicker and do more healing. This gets you a little more [02:33] bang for your buck for your mana bar, but also means that you can go flash heal, heal, flash, heal, heal back to back to back and kind of get the job done. There's a few more talents that are integrated into flash heal and heal. [02:45] And I want to talk about them. Now, first of all, Trail of Light means that you healed as well. So, if I flash heal this target and then I heal this target, you're going to notice the last target I hit gets 25 20ome% of that heal. This [03:00] essentially means you're always going to be cleaving your heals across targets. You can even like heal back to back between two people to kind of more evenly bring both health bars up. This is a majority of your AoE healing, so [03:12] you're going to get a lot of mileage out of this. If your flash heal is ever glowing, that means that it's going to be instant cast and have no mana cost based on heals that you do. And furthermore, 20% of your flash heal or [03:26] heal is going to be cast on yourself all the time. This is incredibly funny because one of your defensives is by casting flash heal on yourself, you get 10% reduced damage for 10 seconds. But if you flash heal anybody or heal [03:39] anybody, you actually get that effect. And it doesn't stack, but it does reset the timer. So by flash healing and healing, you're just taking 10% off the top, which is pretty powerful. Prayer of Mending is a basic heal with a 10 [03:52] something second cool down that's hasted. When you place it on a target, and when that target gets hurt, it'll heal them and jump to a new target. 63,000 healing doesn't sound very powerful, and I totally get it, but this [04:07] is the first time I'm going to say this. Background healing is busted. anytime background while you're doing something else is very powerful and holy priest actually has a ton of it. This is one of them. So, not only does your mastery [04:22] of mendings will help. They'll jump around and heal your targets. If you're your prayer of mending will always jump back to you because it doesn't like to jump to other targets unless they're in your party. So, if you're ever confused [04:36] in a party, you'll see these jumping all over the map, helping your allies out. My recommendation if you're new is to just use prayer of mending essentially on cool down and try to set up a couple [04:48] of them before a big damage event where you have to do a lot of healing. When usually the best button to press, but sometimes it could be useful. Prayer of background, which is why it's one of your core healing spells. It's also not [05:03] things and because of its cooldown, you're going to get that mana back basically 1 second after you cast it. So, it's not a big deal. I have a few before we get into our next big core mechanic. Renew is a simple heal over [05:18] second cool down. We have a talent that makes it a little more powerful and it'll reduce another cool down which is very nice. However, that does give it a small cool down. That being said, when a target has a Renew on them, they're [05:32] going to take 6% increased healing. So, you can use this to kind of make your target. We have other methods of getting renews out, but this is just the first way. And it's important you have the move. Excellent for oh, someone took a [05:45] Renew on them and let the Renew do its job. Power word life is a strong move that has a 15-second cool down, and it's only usable when the target has 35% [05:57] health or less. However, with the talents I recommend down below, it'll end up working at 50% or below. Powered life will also work with Trail of Healing, which is very cool. And of course, it applies your echo. This is a [06:10] very strong move and a great way to just instantly stop someone from dying if recommend keeping power word life around. Let's talk about our damage really quick because our damage is going to let us talk about our holy words. So, [06:23] going to press, it's holy fire. This 10-second cooldown does a significant amount of damage to the target that you hit. It'll also do some AOE damage and a quite a strong DOT that can stack and you're going to get some instant cast [06:37] cool. It's very strong. If you got one button to press, holy fire is the one to button to press, holy fire is the one to go for. Smite is a filler spell. This is just holy damage to the target. If you're coming from discipline priest, [06:50] this actually hits like a truck in comparison. And just spamming smite does a lot of damage. So like keeping holy fire on cooldown and hitting smites is definitely the way to go. So yeah, use a spell a lot. Shadowward pain is an [07:02] instant cast spell that'll put a damage over time on the target, but other than doing a little bit of damage while you walk around, it's not the best spell in the game. I only recommend this to tag a target that you need to tag from a mile [07:14] away and instantly hit it or just while you're on the move. Shadow word pain you wanted to just forget about this button, you could go map it to somewhere it. It's not too important. You're not [07:28] Don't overthink shadow word pain. Please. Holy fire and smite outdamage it by a mile and you'll probably lose damage trying to apply a shadow word pain rather than just using smite, which is why it's good on the move. And that's [07:41] about it. Now, let's talk about our final damaging word and our first holy word. Holy word chastise. By hitting this move, we'll do a large amount of damage to the target, will incapacitate the target, and we'll get access to two [07:53] instant cast holy fires. This is the core of your damage. By hitting out. You'll do some AoE damage. You'll burn one target in particular alive. And [08:05] ta, you've done your damage. That's almost all of it. We'll talk about halo later and it doing damage, but that's for the hero talents. For now, you've done it. But you might have noticed when I cast a spell, a little buddy came out. [08:19] This is an idol of Naru, or as I like to call them, Paper Ghost Buddy. Paper Ghost Buddy is going to try to follow up any spells you do. And it's not like Preservation Devoker where it genuinely copies a spell. Nah, Naru just tries to [08:33] follow up whatever healing or damage you do. You can power up Naru by using multiple holy words together back to back. You know that Naru gets bigger, too. These will fall off individually, but note that Naru will try to follow up [08:46] anything you do. This is actually the most important thing you learn about Holy Priest. Holy Priest's all about pivoting instantly on a dime from damage to healing. You can in a heartbeat decide that you don't want to cast that [09:00] damage spell and you want to heal someone or to finish a heal and swap to to think about it. And that's what makes holy priest so powerful. But also, these holy words are going to be used for healing and for damage. And they all [09:13] power up Naru, and they're all going to power you up. So, you can open a pole by running up, hitting your chastise, and then sending out your holy word fires, right? Or excuse me, your holy fires, do a bunch of damage, and then, oh, I got [09:26] to heal someone. And you can swap immediately to healing and then go back to doing damage. Now, let's talk about those other holy words. The other really big one you're going to use all the time is Holy Word serenity. Holy word [09:39] Serenity is a massive heal that'll just hit a single target like a truck and that's what it's used for to do a gigantic heal on a single target. Flash heal and heal will get its cool down to come back and you have to charge the [09:52] move and note that it takes I think roughly 5 and 1/2 flash heals to get a 1/2. I don't know if I know how to count. That being said, you can farm a mechanic coming up and you want to have an extra holy word serenity, you [10:06] can just kind of slam some flash heals and you will get it back. Holyward Sanctify is an AoE heal. With one of the talent builds down below, this might be less of a good heal, but it's okay. It's an instant cast AoE heal. One of the [10:20] only ones that you have, and it's it's all right. It's not the best. The best use of this though is to clean up some AoE healing, maybe heal while you're on the move, but also to kickstart your Naru, your paper ghost buddy, so that [10:33] you can get the heals rolling. I mean, starting a heal off with like a sanctify and then a serenity is a great way to kind of start your healing game and get things rolling. Then you can like throw in a chastise and keep going. It's [10:46] down with prayer of healing, which we don't take, and renew, and so it doesn't come back that often. So using your Renew is a good way to kind of start getting that cooldown back, but it's only a 45 second recharge. So typically [11:01] speaking, when you need this back up for a little bit of AOE healing and a little bit of Naru action, it's a good way to go. But you're not going to be over relying on this move too much, but keep it handy. Okay? And I mean this with my [11:13] whole heart, if you want to run into some heroics or some early mythic zeros or M2s or delves, you could. With that knowledge alone, I think you can start playing Holy Priest is to push up your teammates's health bars and push down [11:27] enemy health bars. And it actually is as shle as that, but there's a lot more you can do. We're going to go over crowd control, cooldowns, mana management, and more. So, if you want to learn about all those fancy things and the best spell in [11:40] the game, power infusion, you should stick around. Also, if you've liked the video this far, you should subscribe. I make a lot of stuff like this, and you know what? I'm going to make more of it. I love you. [11:53] other cooldowns or crowd control, let's get this one out. Power Infusion. This is a two-minute cool down that for 15 seconds is going to give you a flat 20% haste, which is only 15% off of a blood lust. Power infusion is a huge cool [12:10] down, but it casts on you and one other ally. If you cast it on an ally, you and that ally will get it. If you cast it on yourself, PI will find a target. I think blasting in cooldowns and it'll just give it to them. Power infusion or PI is [12:26] going to be used a lot of the times to buff your teammates's damage and that's use of it. But if you ever feel like you need to save this for yourself for a particularly hard healing event, feel free. It doesn't give you any actual [12:40] healing. But when you pump power infusion, yeah, you are significantly faster. And you can see me go through it right now. It's very very quick. So yeah, use power infusion as a healing cooldown when needed. Otherwise, try to [12:55] give it to your DPS for more damage. Next up on our major cooldowns is going to be divine him. This is a 2-minute with the way we talent, but there is a 3minute version of it that sends out a bazillion prayer of mending. So if you [13:07] want to play around with that, be my guest. It's cool as hell. That being said, divine him will channel for 4 seconds, healing everyone for 1.1 million with an asterisk because the healing received by those players will [13:20] be increased by 4% for 15 seconds stacking. Meaning when you are done channeling this hymn, everyone will have 15 seconds of boosted healing. And I cannot understate how strong this is. You're not going to be using Divine Hymn [13:35] to heal through an emergency situation, but you are going to use Divine Hymn to absolutely gigaboost your ability to heal and quickly bring everyone's health bars back up. You don't have a lot of AoE healing. And while this is a little [13:48] bit of AoE healing, who needs AoE healing if you just heal everyone up in a single spell? So, use Divine Hymn for certain damage interactions to kind of make it through to the end a little bit smoother. Apotheiois is a two-minute [14:03] that kind of similar to Divine Hymn makes you do all the work. After you hit Apotheiois, you'll get the charges back of your holy words. They'll cool down 200% faster and they have no mana cost. So, if you look at my bars right now, [14:17] you'll notice I'm getting my serenity charges back very quickly. And similar with Chast Eyes, you'll cool this move down so quickly. And with the talents I give you, you'll actually extend your apotheiois timer by casting holy words, [14:32] which can be very useful. Now, that being said, there is another talent next little bit stronger at healing instead of extending the duration. And I leave this one completely up to you and how you want to play, but apotheiois giving [14:47] allowing you to immediately start healing and get those charges back quicker can make something that is lethal totally survivable. But it doesn't just magically fix the party. When you hit apotheiois, you're the one [15:00] their holy priest cooldowns don't actually magically save the day. They day. So, make sure you use these effectively. But, we have another big cool down to talk about and a cheat death to talk about. So, let's get into [15:15] those. Next up is lightwell. This is a 2-minute that will last 2 minutes, just floor and waits for people to take damage. If they take damage within 40 [15:27] yards of it, 75% health or less, it's going to hit them for 149,000, and give that. That means they do a small amount of healing, but then they put a heal over time on them. That makes them take 6% increased healing. Remember when I [15:42] said background healing is busted? Here you go. light well and prayer of mendings and your mastery all working together. Yeah, it's a ton of healing. The cooldown is also reduced by 3 seconds every time you cast holy word [15:56] serenity or holy word sanctify or after it heals 15 times. Do note, by the way, you ever have a light well out and there's like training dummies or Onara from the Onarin Plains if you were playing in Dragon Flight, oh boy. It'll [16:10] just heal those targets instead and just dump all the heals. So, be careful. But there it is going to work. Background healing is busted and I think lightwell have another recommendation for those who are more experienced. But I like [16:24] light well because just how much utility provides in the background. And again, it's up pretty often and if it's not doing its job, it's literally waiting to recommendation is right before a big pull or right before a boss fight, just [16:38] slam this on the ground and let it go to town. And note that it isn't a totem, so it's not going to like accidentally pick up enemy aggro. I believe that that doesn't happen anymore, at least not often anymore. But if you're from like [16:50] classic or something like that, light well is not a totem, so you just drop it. It's doing its job. One more big healing cool down to talk about, guardian spirit. This is a 3minut that will call down a guardian spirit and it [17:03] gives them wings. So if you ever want to see double wings on a Dra Theory, there you go. but it also provides a 60% healing amp, making it a really, really [17:15] strong cooldown for keeping someone alive. If the target dies, the guardian spirit will be used, restore the target to 40% health. However, while this can be cast from stunned, which is huge, it's a 1 minute if it doesn't cheat [17:29] death. So, as long as the target doesn't die, this is actually a one minute healing amp. And note that it's off the global cooldown, meaning you can use this to save a life very quickly or use it on yourself. Now, why would you use [17:42] it on yourself? Well, a maybe to stay alive, but b you're always healing a heal. So, if you want a trail of light to people while also giving yourself 20% of your own healing that's then boosted by 60%. Yeah, you can get a lot of work [17:57] move handy. It's one of the strongest cooldowns in the entire game. And I'm not even kidding. Being able to save someone's life and hand them a cheat death is really powerful. Before we get into defensives, I want to go over mana [18:11] management really quick because the answer is you regenerate mana 10% answer is you regenerate mana 10% faster. Yippee. So, use enlightenment by just doing damage when you don't need to heal, not spending just flash heals. [18:24] stacks. The more you save on mana by efficiently healing, the more benefit say you're dipping into your mana bar. Things are getting a little hectic. Hey, everlasting light heal restores up to 15% additional health based on your [18:39] missing mana. This effect is pretty powerful and you're going to get a ton of use out of it if the going's getting rough. But honestly, you'll be like in a pull and like the going will be rough and you'll be like 40% mana like oh no, [18:53] to get your mana up. And then the next pull's like easy and you get like all of your mana back. And and that's kind of the trick to Holy Priest is having it's really tough, just drink some [19:06] water, get your mana back, and go again. In a pinch, if you need more mana, you can use symbol of hope. This is a 3minut that will restore 30 seconds of a major defensive ability for everyone in your party and regain 10% of their missing [19:19] party and regain 10% of their missing mana over 3.2 seconds. So, let's use my major cool down here and then hit symbol of hope. And I'll zoom in right now, but I'm channeling it. And look at how fast that goes down. It's pretty cool to [19:31] watch. Use symbol of hope to restore your mana or to get your defensives back to know they got their defensives back. So, if you want to have a weak aura that yells at everyone that you're casting the spell, feel free. Shadow Fiend is a [19:44] dude to come out and start punching punching something, they're going to be giving you mana back every time they auto. But also note that they're healing. Essence devour as a talent [19:56] means that they do a little bit of healing while they're autoing. It isn't noticed, but remember background healing is busted. So this and the light well and the prayer of mending and your mastery, you get the idea. This is doing [20:11] healing cooldown and use it to get your mana back. If you just need a little bit of assistance during a big damage phase, just send this little guy out and side of things, we already talked about [20:24] how flash heal and heal will give you a little bit of healing yourself, which triggers this talent, protective light, that gives you a 10% DR, but you also have a move called fade. This reduces your threat and reduces enemies [20:37] attacking range against you, so you can sneak past mobs. Fade plus Mind Soothe, second, is borderline invisibility. But fade has another purpose. Fade will also reduce 10% of damage you take. So if you flash heal [20:53] anyone and then hit your off the global cooldown fade, you can almost instantly have 20% damage reduction for 10 seconds. That's basically always online, making priest a little tankier than you might have expected it to be. But let's [21:07] you have guardian spirit as a cheat death, but you also have desperate prayer. This 1 and 1/2 minute cool down is going to increase your maximum health by 25% for 10 seconds and it'll instantly heal you for that amount. This [21:21] you'll just immediately heal all that healing up. So, when the going's rough Trail of Light, Guardian Spirit on you, and you're just trying to get through it all, hitting Desperate Prayer is going to be all you need to do to keep [21:35] yourself alive for a little bit longer while you top everyone off. Now, let's talk about crowd control. My favorite section. You got one, and I'm not even kidding. You don't get a kick. You have dominate mind, but we're not [21:47] taking that right now. And you get this cool tendril ability in in um PvP, but you're not going to be using this in dungeons. Nope. Welcome to Psychic Scream. This 30 second cool down will make everyone within 8 yards fear you [22:01] for 8 seconds. Now, damage is going to immediately interrupt it. And if they're undead or they're a machine and and only some machines, they will be immune to the fear. Congratulations. Welcome to Priest. That being said, a lot of Priest [22:15] Priest. That being said, a lot of Priest players will pick a racial based on its bit of extra crowd control. But I want to make this super clear right now. Pick game. The only time you really need to change your race in World of Warcraft [22:30] for content is bleeding edge rating. in bleeding edge world record pushing keys. I don't want to hear anything from people telling me, "Oh, well this one's think that high mountain torren are [22:44] probably optimal because bull rush is a disgusting crowd control move. I play Drath because I like dragons and yes, we get a knock back on a 3minut which is a little bit rough. Feel free to play panda if you want quaking palm. High [22:57] mountain torren are excellent. But that being said, no matter what you pick, try you really do only have one crowd control ability. So if you are flexible one with crowd control just to make your life a little bit easier and that'll pay [23:12] itself forward for a bazillion years. But play what you like or else if any of you have to play this." Bring them to me. I'll devour them in the comment section. I swear me mom, don't let anyone tell you how to play this game. [23:26] First of all, purify is a standard dispel. 8second cool down. Only goes in cool down if it does something. Removes magic and disease. With the way we're talented, you also have a purge. This has no cool down and it will dispel a [23:40] beneficial magic effect on a target. By the way, the shielded mobs in theater of spears, they'll just one-shot just about anybody. Yeah, you can just do half their life bar by dispelling that shield. So, you're welcome. Use dispel [23:54] magic. Mast dispel is a two-minute that will remove all magical effects in a will remove all magical effects in a 15ard radius and it'll also remove magical beneficial effects on enemies and it'll do all of the above. There are [24:06] some limitations if you read the tool tip. However, yeah, you just cast this and then boop, you get it off of everyone. Powered fortitude is the priest raid buff. increases stamina by 5%. And if you're playing Archon, you [24:20] will get an additional 5% out of that for a total of 10% increased stamina, which is pretty dang powerful. Mine soothe is going to reduce a target's ability to see humanoids, dragonkins, and a few other ones. Dragonkins, right? [24:35] Is that what it said? Yeah, dragonkins. That being said, there's some raid bosses that you can mine to. there's a bunch of weird targets and if it doesn't work on a target, it'll simply say that the target is immune when you hit it and [24:47] anything like that. So, you can just try it on a bunch of stuff. Now, there is more going on with priest, but I'm going to leave you to explore some of the other passives and spells on your own. I want to talk about our hero talents [25:00] these hero talents might want to know what's going on. And the long and the short of it is Archon's the easiest and Oracle is my favorite. I'm going to free to read through all of these yourself, but the long and the short of [25:13] is when you hit Halo, it does a bunch of healing and damage, which is awesome. bonus healing while they're under the effects of it. So, you kind of get an extra 1 minute out of the deal. And this is some [25:27] of the only AoE healing on Holy Priest. Use it to heal through some particularly bad damage and healing events. And yeah, go to town. This is a very easy hero couple of nice buffs, some damage. It gives you the stronger power and [25:42] health. But if you'd like to play Oracle, stick around. I'm going to go through its basics really quick, but this one does require a little bit more learning, but I think it's going to be worth the learning. Oracle Priest is my [25:56] couple of unique things going for it, but we have to explain them. To start off, you have Premonition. This move cycles in the same order through four different buffs. It's going to start with premonition of insight, then piety, [26:11] then soloulless, then clairvoyance. You have two charges of this move, and you get a charge back every 45 seconds. If you want me to make this easy for you, premonition of insight is going to be utility. Py is a healing cooldown that [26:24] makes you 20% stronger. Solless is a defensive utility style move that gives a shield and a DR. And then clairvoyance gives you all of them. So it can go gives you all of them. So it can go utility healing utility healing. So use [26:37] piety and clairvoyance as healing cooldowns and you're good to go. But let's talk a little bit more about how they work. Insight reducing the cooldown of your next three spells by 7 seconds means you could say send out a bunch of [26:49] little worry. But note that premonition of insight won't waste itself on a smite or a flash heal. It'll only activate if the move actually has a cool down. Heidi does increase your healing by 20%. And 70% of that overhealing will actually [27:04] remember, you got all this extra background healing going on, your spilling over onto the targets that need it is very useful. Premonition of soloulless will make any of your single target heals create that gigantic 1.9 [27:19] million shield and give the 15% DR. So you could say hit a Renew on the tank, give them a shield, and give them a damage reduction. So find a place to use it to help out, but try not to overthink this one. Clairvoyance giving all of [27:32] them means it's another healing cool down. If you can maximize the usage out of this, great. But just using clairvoyance as py 2 is absolutely fine and kind of how I use clairvoyance. So feel free to give this a shot. And [27:46] before we depart, it really is push up your ally health bars and push down the enemy ones. Find times to do damage and when the going gets rough, swap right my god, am I flash healing too much? Am I healing too much? Should I have hit [28:01] serenity there?" You probably should have. It really is that simple sometimes. But the skill ceiling really is as high as the other specs. You're going to have find so many ways to your solution. Which one's the best? Which [28:14] to leave that up to you. You're going to find other builds and potentially other differently. And that's totally totally fine. I hope by following along, you were able to learn quite a bit. And I promise you, dive into that delve. Jump [28:29] into that plus two with some friends and give it a go. Holy Priest really is a great way to start. It's fast, it's quick, and sometimes it can feel really intense, but the reward when you do it right, Holy Priest makes it look like it [28:43] was easy. And there's nothing cooler in the world than looking sick while doing it. Thank you so so much for watching. If you like the video, please again That's going to do it for this one. I'll [28:56] That's going to do it for this one. I'll see you all soon.
