[00:00] We're doing a full tutorial, beginning to end and starting an Etsy print-on-demand shop selling t-shirts. I'm going to show you every single step along the way. So if you've been sitting here wanting to do this for so long and you've just felt stuck and overwhelmed, [00:12] open your freaking browser, do things as I'm showing it to you. Like, this is how you're going to start, all right? This is the video that's going to help you do that. So today, we're going to go over the basics of opening up your Etsy shop. So if you have that part already locked down, you can skip a little bit ahead and jump in with me [00:26] when we start the whole researching design process. but we're going to go over opening up your Etsy shop, connecting to Printify, doing keyword and SEO research to find a niche that you can list in, the design process, and then actually listing it into your Etsy shop through Printify. You are going to come out on the [00:42] other side of this video with your first listing. Let's go. All right, so we're over at Etsy slash sell. This is the beginning stages. You're going to actually open up your Etsy shop right now. It sounds intimidating and scary, but it's not, okay? This is going to take five minutes, so you're [00:55] of click get started make sure you guys have an email that you are ready to use for this specific Etsy shop and just go through the prompts it's like Etsy's trying to make it so easy on you that it's obvious what you guys should be next um so fill out your shop preferences all of it was [01:12] actually there ready for me name your shop I'm just going to put Spencer Co you can change this don't overthink this and all you guys sitting here like oh my god I'm not ready to name my shop who cares. You can come back and change this anytime. Do not allow anything to stop you, okay? All right, [01:29] it's taken. They crashed. Let's do it. Save and continue. All right, so now Etsy's asking how they're going to pay you. So you need to give some personal information about your business, where your bank is located, if you have an LLC, or if you are a sole proprietor. Either is okay. [01:48] All right, you don't need to rush and go get an LLC right now, but I do highly recommend if you, Like there's a certain level of taking your business seriously when you get an LLC. It changes how you show up. All right. It changes how you feel about what you're doing. [02:00] I 10 out of 10 recommend going in your LLC. I do that with Taylor Brands. Like it is so easy. I have three LLCs with Taylor Brands. I will drop some information down in the description, but you could have your LLC ready and filed [02:12] in the next 10 minutes. It's really simple, not overwhelming. So I'll drop some information below there. But if you do not have, and you can come back and fill this in at a later date if you get your LLC filed. So I'm going to leave this as like a sole proprietorship because most of you guys, that's what you're going to have. [02:28] You're going to fill out information on yourself. If you are a sole proprietor, you want to make sure you put your social security number in here, okay? And then click save and continue. Now, the next page is going to have you connect with, and this is how you connect Etsy to your bank account so Etsy can pay you. [02:43] Now, this is a more than one day process, okay? So I want you to start this today and we'll come back and finish this tutorial at the end of this video. But once you connect it, you can do it manually using your routing and account number. It's going to put one cent in your account and you just need to verify what that small [02:59] deposit is. So once you see that in your account, you're going to come back, click enter deposit code and you're going to put that three letter code right here. Okay. And then you're going to click save and continue. It's not going to let you go ahead until I do that. [03:12] So now we're actually going to get into the fun things until our Etsy shop is formally set up. So what I need you guys to prepare is I need you to go to rankzero.com and you are going to sign up for an account there. Okay, you can just use your trial for now. [03:25] So we're going to go over what the back end of this looks like really quickly now as if your Etsy shop is up and running and not published over and the things you have to do on the tail end to make this listing perfect. But Rank Zero is going to be your SEO tool. [03:37] SEO stands for search engine optimization. We use a tool like Rank Hero to inform and tell us the products that we're going to design. We don't just sit here and be like, I'm a mom. I want to make mom t-shirts for other moms and post them on Etsy without doing any sort of research [03:51] because there are a billion t-shirts for moms out there. So unless you go and search for keywords that are highly searched but don't have a lot of competition, you're putting a bunch of stuff out there that nobody's ever going to find. [04:04] And then you're going to sit here and wonder why you're not getting any traffic, you're not getting any sales. is because you did not allow data to inform what you're designing and putting into your shop, right? So we always start with a tool to inform the products that we're going to create. And the [04:18] tool that I love to use is Rhinestero, okay? You can use whatever tool you want, but all of my tutorials on my YouTube are always going to be based on Rhinestero. It's my favorite tool, okay? And I have, I'm pretty sure I have a code down here for you guys below. You get 10% off for life. [04:32] Amazing. The second thing you're going to need is a design tool. I'm going to use Kittle for this specific tutorial. Kittle is one of my favorite tools. It's really simple to use and essentially Kittle is a template-based design tool. So you come with your idea, you come with [04:46] your niche, and you look through all of the template library to find a design template that fits your style, fits what you know about your ideal customer, and then you plug in your own design to that template. So go and get an account at Kittle. You could also try that out [05:00] for free. I also have a code below for you to try that. 10 out of 10 recommend. And then we're also going to need a Printify account. And so Printify is free. We'll walk through the entire process of signing up for Printify, from connecting your Etsy shop. We're going to do that next. So we're [05:14] going to have those three things ready to go into the rest of this tutorial. Capisce? So here we are on Printify.com. Printify is your print distributor. What that means is with print on demand, when somebody purchases your product, you don't have that product on hand, right? I don't have [05:28] a warehouse in my closet full of t-shirts that I'm shipping out. No, that's the beauty of print on demand is you don't have to do any of that. So Printify is your print distributor and Printify is actually a network of distributors. We'll get into that. And so when a customer purchases [05:41] something from your Etsy, Etsy is going to tell Printify, hey, this product is purchased. You need to create this item and ship it to this customer. And Printify is going to do all of that for you. It's an automated process. It's beautiful. Okay. So Printify is a network of all of these [05:56] distributors across the entire freaking world. It doesn't matter if you're in the UK. It doesn't matter if you're in Germany, United States, Australia, there is a distributor that you can tap into to deliver your products to your customer, okay? So you can create an account on Printify [06:10] completely free. The only thing you ever pay Printify for is for the actual product. It's amazing. So you're going to come here to Printify and create a free account, and then you're going to add a new shop, all right? So you can add all of these shops. You can sell on Etsy, Shopify, [06:24] TikTok, Amazon, literally Printify pop-up shop, and I will have videos on my YouTube on all of these things very soon if there's anything particularly that you guys want to see specific to where we're selling drop it in the comment below and I'll [06:36] prioritize those videos okay so we're gonna click Etsy point in time you do not have your Etsy shop formally set up because the bank account situation has not been connected fully okay so you might need to hold up on this but it so easy And do not let this hold you up on researching and design because that part can take you a little bit of time okay [06:56] So once your Etsy shop is actually set up and it's live, you're just going to click Etsy and you're going to come in here and sign into your Etsy shop. And that's it. Once you sign in, it's going to be connected. And then the shop is going to be readily available for you to start adding products. [07:10] Really simple, all right? So now we're actually going to get into the fun part. we're going to start researching what products we're going to put into our Etsy shop. All right. And so as I told you guys, I use Rank Hero. I live and die by Rank Hero. It is my favorite SEO tool. [07:23] One of my favorite aspects of it is this niche finder. It makes it so simple to find high search goal competition niches that you can incorporate into your shop. And so if you click the niche finder, you're going to see all of these words that people are actively searching for [07:37] on Google, on Etsy, and their competition and search volume data. You can search, You can sort these things by competition, meaning if this number is super low, that means a lot of people aren't listing in this keyword. [07:50] And that's how Etsy works. It's a search engine that uses keywords for people to find products. And so there are all of these things that a single product ranks based off of why it's shown to a potential customer. [08:04] And that's a whole video that we're going to have to go into, but keywords are a piece of it. So if somebody searches for plasma donation and you've done your work to position yourself within that keyword, your product is going to show up. [08:17] All right. And so what you want to do is find keywords that have a lot of search volume and people are actively searching for this specific variation of this keyword and low competition, meaning there aren't a lot of people that are listing on it so that you can show up in the first or second page of the Etsy search algorithm so people actually find the product. [08:36] So Niche Finder helps you find those products really easy. And so you can either sit here and scroll, or you can use my favorite hack, and that's Quad. And so I use the Quad extension on Chrome, and I have that open right here, and I would [08:49] just open that with it, like, and have Rank Hero open, and I would type in, search the Niche Finder in Rank Hero. Oh, we are ranked hero to find high search, low competition, potential niches I can sell in on Etsy. [09:09] Specifically for t-shirts. Avoid anything that is copyright. Okay? And we're just going to click. We're going to let that rip. And what Claude is going to do, it's going to take hold of my computer. [09:23] Like literally my hands are off and it's going to start going through all of the niche finder by itself without me. And it's going to give me a report out of some of those keywords. So I can either literally sit here and scroll all of it or I can use Claude, which I would much rather do. [09:37] So we're going to pause this and let Claude do its work really quick. So this is what Claude came up with. We have a lot to work with here. Okay. So we have identity-based keywords, marching band, passing NCLEX. [09:49] I don't know. Closing cost, lactation expert. That's not a bad one. I actually have a lot here. I don't want to show you guys all of these because actually it would be a disservice to Rank Hero because I pay for them. [10:01] I shouldn't be giving away all of their data for free. So we're just going to go with Lactation Expert because that is a great sub-niche, and I already have quite a few ideas on what we can do to design for that. But before we go and do anything, I just want to go over to Rank Hero's tag generator, [10:15] and I want to drop Lactation Expert in here and click search. essentially it's going to start looking for other keywords that I can put in my titles and my description that are similar to lactation expert. So obviously we need a lot more than one [10:28] single long tail keyword to put in our Etsy listing. So I'm going to leave that, do that work. And now we're going to go over to Kittle and start designing. So here we are on Kittle. This is going to be our design tool. This is your first time ever being in Kittle. I want you to take a [10:44] deep breath because this is such a robust design tool that I couldn't even possibly cover all of this in like five videos. There's so much here if you're on print on demand. There is image [10:57] generation, there's video generation, there are templates, there are starting from complete scratch, there is branding, there's so much. This is like almost like a one-stop shop hub for design in business and I absolutely love their templates. And so I want to just give you a brief [11:13] overview of where to find things and then we're going to dive into actually designing with a template. So right now I'm here on the left hand side. I'm under templates. Okay. They have templates for so much. We're going to, I have a for you area right here. It starts to learn the types of [11:26] templates that I like, which I love, like the street wear graphic, like graphic tee type, really simple designs on t-shirts. So I am constantly attracted to that. I sell a lot of [11:38] these styles of t-shirts. And so they're going to all pop up here. Your kid is going to start learning the types of templates that you're attracted to, all right? But you can head over to merchandise and click t-shirts or sweatshirts and hoodies, and essentially this is going to give you [11:52] a bunch of templates to start perusing from. Now, obviously, I'm going to expand this a little bit. You can sort this right now. It's sorted by trending. You can sort by most used, most recent, [12:05] by specific name, all right? I'm going to look at recent because Kittle's constantly doing research on what is trending right now, what people are buying and creating templates based off of those things. So when I sort by recent, I know I'm getting templates that are new and that are [12:20] based off of trends that are happening right now. And so all you need to do is scroll through and try to find a template that would appeal to somebody that is in the niche that you're designing for. Okay. So this is a template that I'm going to use. I love this template. This is [12:36] very trendy right now, like the whole postage stamp trend coupled with like all the small icons surrounding some bold text. Like if you spent five minutes on Etsy, you're going to see designs just like this in different niches. I absolutely love it. And I love that Kittle has a template [12:51] to make this so easy. And so you have the option to actually go in and change all of these pieces manually. Or you can use Kittle Agentic AI, which is what I use a lot because your girl just [13:03] sometimes doesn't have the vision to go and do these things manually. Some of us are great designers. Some of us are great business people that run the back end of the business. I'm over in that camp. I always need as much help as I possibly can on the design side and it'll make [13:15] that really easy. So my strategy, my cheat code is I like to take a screenshot of this. Where's my screenshot thing? Why isn't one of you take a screenshot? Hold on a second. There we go. Of [13:27] this design, okay, and then I take that over to quad. Let me delete that. I have this over in quad okay I dropped it in here and it said be an expert in graphic design I designing a lactation consultant lactation expert niche and want to use this template from Kittle Can you give me five ideas that would appeal to somebody that works in the field [13:46] And what icons can I use, et cetera? Give me a thorough prompt to use with Kittle's agentic AI to generate this image. I will drop this prompt down in the description. Okay. You can just use it. And Kittle and Claude gave me a thorough way that I can change this that would appeal to a lactation consultant. [14:03] It's so simple, okay? And you can get a little more detailed with your prompt if you need to. The better that you know your ideal customer, the better these types of prompts will work, okay? Because I'm, like, I'm not in the lactation field. [14:15] Like, if I'm starting to design in this niche, I would definitely, absolutely definitely do a little bit more research than I am before I post something in it. But for the sake of the tutorial, this is what we're doing, okay? So it also gave me some icons to use, and then it gave me this agentic AI prompt. [14:30] So I'm going to copy this entire thing over. He gave me colors. How freaking cool. And then we're going to go back to Kittle. Okay. So down here, I'm going to select, like I'm going to select the whole image. And then it's going to say, describe what you want to create. [14:44] And make sure you have agentic AI selected down here. And I'm just going to type, like put this entire prompt. And we're going to click go. And so it's going to start thinking. And in a hot second, it's going to basically create a second canvas with a brand new design. [15:02] based off of my prompt. It's going to tell you exactly how long it's going to take, and it's going to start generating, okay? I'm going to pause this and come back when it's finished. And there we have it, folks. Isn't that cute? Isn't that so cute? I love it. I've used lactation [15:16] filter before, and so I do recognize all of these things. I think it's solid. All of the text turned out perfect, okay? You know, I'm in the United States. I don't use KG, but that's [15:28] probably fine. Maybe it did KG because I was looking at London. I don't know. But I love it. This is very on trend from what I've seen on Etsy. And so what we're going to do is we're going to remove the background so that we can export this and head over to Printify. So now we're over on [15:42] Printify.com. Okay, we're going to go over to catalog and we're going to find a t-shirt that we want to list this on. So I'm going to do a very brief overview of the t-shirts that I would recommend and maybe a few that I might not recommend. So let's just go to women. Most of [15:59] these t-shirts are unisex. You can, you know, just choose the size based off of sex, but you would use the same t-shirts for men and women. Okay. There's a bestseller tab on some of these t-shirts for a reason. It means that people keep buying them. They're good t-shirts, but some of them, [16:14] you know, I think lend to certain t-shirt styles and certain situations and certain issues than others. And so this is the type of thing that you start to get to know the longer you're in the industry. Comfort colors are probably the most popular t-shirt. They are like an oversized, [16:30] vintage, washed style t-shirt. They are thicker in nature. They are heavier. It's not something I would ever want to do for like a workout t-shirt or like a t-shirt that people tuck in really nicely. You know, this is a thicker, heavier streetwear style t-shirt, but my favorite, [16:45] I sell the most out of proper colors. This would be a t-shirt that would fit well with a t-shirt, I think. The Gildan 64,000 is a very soft, slightly lighter weight t-shirt. It's by far one of the cheapest on Printify. I also sell a lot of these. There are a lot of colors, [17:01] but it doesn't give that like vintage wash feel. There are a lot of like heathered colors and solid colors. This is a really like typical standard t-shirt that you would find pretty much anywhere like Walmart and you know, all those things is Gildan soft style. Gildan Heavy [17:15] cotton tee is another bestseller. These are way heavier in nature and a little rougher. Your comfort colors is thicker, but it has like a very like lived in feel. Your gildan is not going to have that lived in feel at least like right off the shelf. It takes a little bit of [17:31] time to get that. And then lastly, the Bella and Canvas is a really thin, lightweight t-shirt. Very, very popular. Bella and Canvas is used in a lot of workouts and just like a lot of relatively cheaper t-shirts. They're really soft, but they're thin, okay? And I find like [17:46] Bella and Canvas to be a lot more fitted than other t-shirts. And so those are like the top four that I would consider depending on what designs you're trying to go for. So we're going [17:58] to go with the comfort colors because they're my absolute favorite. So you're going to click the t-shirt that you want. You're going to click start designing. And then what you're going to do is you're going to drop your design. Oop, that's not what I wanted to do. [18:10] Drop your design right on this canvas, and it's going to upload. While that's uploading, over here on the right-hand side, you can see all the variations of this t-shirt. Okay, there are so many colors, right? [18:24] One thing that I would do is I would talk to Claude. If you're not really well-versed in color combinations, what color would look good with this design based off of, like, through the lens of a graphic designer eye, okay? [18:38] Because just because it looks good to you doesn't mean it's a typical color combination that is used in the t-shirt world. And this is, like, a really important skill for you guys to develop if you're going to be selling new t-shirts. But I'm going to put this on ivory, okay? [18:50] You can't go wrong with red, blue, and ivory. I think that's absolutely beautiful. I'm going to come over to preview and we'll see what that looks like. Really, really cute. Nice oversized t-shirt. That's what I would probably sell this as. Shrink this up a little bit. [19:02] and then we're going to click save product. We want to make sure that high resolution, we see that, okay? This is where you're going to pick your mock-ups. Now, I've said it a million times, we are not going to be using Printify's mock-ups, okay? [19:15] These are kind of cute, but we're not going to be using Printify's mock-ups because a billion other people are, and there are so many other ways to create cute quality mock-ups that aren't just using basic ones from Printify. [19:27] And so we'll go do that now before we finish up the rest of this listing. So what we're going to do is actually download a copy of Pernify's mock-up right here. I'm just going to save this onto my desktop. [19:39] And then we're going to head back to Kittle, okay? We can just use the same page that we're on. Head back down to the prompt box, and I want you to put that picture of the T-shirt right in this agentic box. And I want you to type in a prompt very similar to this, all right? [19:53] I'm just going to create a photorealistic mock-up of a girl with brown hair wearing this T-shirt. Don't show the face. I don't want the face on. cut the mock-up beneath her nose and make it trendy and I just described what I want her to [20:07] look like all right so then we're going to click go and that's going to get back to thinking and it's going to create another canvas for us with a mock-up and there we go we have ourselves a mock-up okay this just like created a canvas down here as you guys can see and so it took that mock right here and turned it into exactly what I described and so now I going to take this and turn it into a video So I clicking generate video on this mock and then I [20:32] saying turn this mock-up into a video with the girls walking towards the camera maintaining the focus on the center of the t-shirt. This is going to take a hot second so we're going to generate that and while we do that I'm going to download this mock-up and we're going to head back over [20:46] to Printify and you are going to upload the mock-up here. Okay. And so I'm just going to drag and drop that. And now my mock-up is going to be added to Printify. And so we're going to click continue. I'm going to link that to the color. So I'm not actually going to offer this in white. I [21:02] should take that out, but I'm going to link that to ivory. And so when the customer clicks the color ivory on Etsy, it's going to show this specific mock-up. You will definitely always want to link it to make the user experience really easy. Not leave any questions in your [21:15] customer's mind as to like, what is this color? What does this look like? And so that's going to be my main mock-up. And so we're going to click save selection. Now the fun part happens. Okay. I'm going to opt out of that right now. And so I would definitely recommend offering way more than [21:29] one mock-up. Okay. We're not just going to stop there. But now we have to do all the fun stuff, like add in our listing details. And so we started this process over on rank zero on the tag generator. Okay. There, you know, I found a bunch of related key terms. And so we're going to, [21:46] we're going to sort this based off of competition. And our goal is to find, you know, lower competition keywords that have moderate to high search volume. So I'm going to select lactation expert. I'm going to select breastfeeding expert, breastfeeding support. I'm going to pause this and go and [22:03] select all of my keywords and I'll be right back. So I have all of my tags here and I'm going to copy this and so as you guys know um or maybe you don't we want to make sure that the keywords in our title our descriptions and our tags are all overlapping so I'm going to drop that here this [22:19] is likely all a little too long for Etsy but I will cut them as I need once I kind of get that keyword count and so we're going to go back over to rank hero and go to the description generator I'm going to type in what I'm selling full tint t-shirt I'm going to put the tags that I just [22:37] found and drop them in here. I want a balanced length. I want like conversational and it's going to create a description. While that's doing that, let's head back over to Kittle and see what our video looks like. It's so freaking cool. Nice and short video. This is going to go on Etsy. [22:54] As somebody scrolls by our products, they're going to see our like thumbnail move because it's going to quickly jump to the video. And so this is going to be the video that we upload on Etsy when the time comes. So where were we? We're back at, thank you. So I'm going to copy this. We're going to go [23:11] back over to Printify. I'm going to replace this part and I'm going to make sure it all looks good. I may just need to like reformat this a little bit and make sure we get rid of these dots. [23:24] And then we are going to make sure that we leave all the actual details of the product. and I always like to add this product is made to order. [23:37] Please reference delivery timeframes and return policy. And you'll want to make sure you set your return policy and like all the shipping and all that stuff information [23:49] so your customer knows, okay? This is not a personalized product and I'm going to head down to pricing. I'm not going to dive into pricing here. There's like, you know, a lot to get back within a pricing strategy and getting to know pricing within your niche and doing research [24:03] it's not something you should just do on a whim or copy my pricing that's like not what you do um so we're just going to leave all of that set and then we're going to click publish right now our store is not connected because we're still waiting on the banking thing but as soon as we [24:17] hit publish that is going to go directly over to etsy okay so what i did was just i published this over onto one of my other Etsy shops just so we can now go through the process of what it looks [24:31] like on the back end. So I just copied that listing over into one of my mock Etsy shops. So if I can show you what the back end looks like so we can finish off this listing with a bang. Okay. So Printify published everything that we put in the Printify side over to Etsy, [24:46] but there's a few remaining things that you guys got to do over here. First is to add that Kittle video. Okay. So we're going to do that. And that's going to add the video to the listing. You need to make sure that all of your attributes are selected. [24:59] Our title is finished. Our description is finished. I have those whites in there, which I didn't want to have the whites in there. But all of our item and variations and pricing is finished. Tags, I should have put over on Printify, but because our Etsy wasn't connected to Printify, [25:14] it didn't give me that option. But you pull those tags from Rank Theory, the ones that you put into your title. You can either add these to Printify or you can add them right to Etsy, okay? [25:26] So you want to make sure that you have all 13 tags and they pretty much align with what your title is. Make sure you have, you know, the material based off of what your T-shirt actually is. Any additional, like, as much information as you can provide to Etsy, any of this that you could possibly add, you want to add, okay? [25:44] Your pricing here, made to order, all of our shipping, all of that stuff is ready. Then you would just click publish. And that's it, guys. That is the whole beginning to end process, okay? the connecting of the Etsy shop to your buy, the research part, the design part, [26:00] actually adding it to printify and then listing it onto Etsy, okay? That is high level. This is macro. There are a million details that go in between to make this a very effective, streamlined process that you can replicate really quickly because you're not going to make $1,000 on a single product, right? So what do you guys want to see first? Do you want to dive into SEO? [26:27] Do you want to get really freaking good at designing? Do you want to understand how to do this really quickly so you can bang out 20 listings in a single day? Drop a comment below on what you want to start seeing deep dives on, and I will prioritize that, right? [26:40] This is for you guys, okay? This is for you. If you actually listed your first listing with me, please tell me in the comments. I want to celebrate you. You don't understand how many people. You know, I have over 200,000 followers on TikTok. off. I can't even tell you how many people are just like, I'm frozen. I don't know what to do. [26:55] I've been sitting on this idea for a year now, two years now, and they don't do anything. If you just did something and took action, I want to celebrate with you because that is so much more than so many people take and you really should be proud of yourself. All right, guys, I will see you guys [27:08] in the next video. Please make sure you subscribe. Am I supposed to be saying that? Still new to YouTube. Check that out over here. And I'll see you guys later.
