Uh, welcome to me working on
uh, streaming wirelessly from the Action
5. This is a test.
It may be useful in future environments.
And I want to see if I can get this
thing going. All right.

Um,
so what I've been working on is getting
the Action 5 camera
uh streaming to my phone
and then it's streaming from here
uh to the computer.
So, we're only really monitoring it
uh
uh from the computer.
But as I think my goal is that, you
know, we can do the podcast and not need
the computer here and be able to go to
friend's house and just as long as I
have Wi-Fi with the phone,
be able to have the Action 5 and be able
to stream on YouTube that way. Well, why
don't you just use your phone? Well,
you know, this is another fun piece of
technology.
like really um you know I haven't tested
uh uh YouTube streaming on on the phone.
Last time I tried to do uh live
streaming on the phone,
YouTube only allowed you to have a video
vertically.
And what I want is, you know, obviously
landscape and I also want to have two
mics to be able to uh uh record that
way.
So,
um, hey, it's Matt. Yeah. Sound check.
Uh, what's that built-in furniture
behind you? Well, now since we're
totally mobile
and um as long as I'm as long as I'm
within shot of the phone
uh and I can use the action 5 to do
this, you know, we can go around what's
what's behind me is a builtin office
and I can also turn on the overheads
which look like that.
Uh,
this is number shelves.
And
I guess I could have had the computer
here.
Um, but that's not good sponge,
you know, if you're beating off and then
someone just comes in behind you. Um, so
and also I don't think I think my
monitor is bigger than that space right
there. But then also I'm dealing with
having wires come down around here cuz I
think my nearest outlet is over there.
I'd have to have wires going around. I
mean, this would work and it's kind of
nice and imposing to have this here, but
then I'd also be dealing with uh
um these blinds right here. And then I
just like having my case here that I'm
always working in and out of. Um uh
please tell me that table is temporary
and you're getting legit. When you say
table, you mean this buffet table that
I've been using as a desk? No, that's my
permanent desk. I've been using that as
a desk since college. I'm very attached
to this buffet table. It follows me
everywhere. Um, it looks awesome for
writing a book. Yeah, it's very Wes
Anderson. Wes Anderson. Obviously, I
need more stuff on the walls. Um, but
that also means I could take my phone
with me
and uh go outside.
Um, someone says, "Is an LS swapped RX8
a good first car?" You're you're you're
just messing with me.
So, since you're with me, let's do a
test of the wifi.
Um
cuz the wifi it's going to get dark here
in a minute.
Uh the wifi
is
in here. This room was going to be the
podcast room. And I still do want it to
be this this way. And it's not a problem
to do uh an offline podcast to just use
the action five for that.
and then be able to
have this nice background in here. Also,
this chair is awesome. Um, it's not
mine. My friend K bought this thing for
like two bucks.
Two bucks at a thrift store
and uh he just says, "Yo, can I put this
here?" And I said, "Please put it here."
But the chair is amazing.
It's almost kind of like the chairs that
they have uh on the Adam Freeland show,
but this this this chair rules. I I get
into it and I don't want to think, but
since I moved from a very tiny house
into this big one, we have all this
empty space on the walls and it's been a
year since I moved in. So,
and and I still haven't decorated. Like
I have my little pictures here from the
old house that that nicely filled in
stuff. The only thing that fills in the
space is this gigantic mural on the wall
uh from the previous owners. Of course,
I need to go back to the back in the
office. And then check to see the stream
is still going. It's going good. Uh
Matto says, "Yeah, that's a steal."
That's the one downside. um doing the
stream this way since I can't check my
phone. Um
because my phone is locked in the DJI Mo
app
and
I'd have to log into YouTube. I actually
that's a test. Oh, we got a live we got
a
we got a pay me money thing. Durk says
give a uh give a good hoot for JS man if
not.
I I don't know what that means. A hoot
for jorts.
I haven't worn jorts in forever.
Mr. Regular, what are your thoughts on
the impact of AI from the pediological
perspective?
You know,
I've lived through the original dot
bubble and I'm ready for the bubble for
uh uh for AI as well,
but I think I need a beverage. So, let's
see how the wifi transfers
from the Action 5 to my phone
to YouTube. And I wonder if it would be
easier, since we're on a tether, for me
to
leave my phone
here,
right there,
cuz that's the phone is what's
sending
the stream signal, not the action five.
All the action five has to do is go
to my phone, right?
So,
but since I'm doing this solo,
I don't know if this is actually
working,
if just having it one room away is
enough.
So, what sort of beverage would I like?
I think
I'm going to get white girl about it
and pour myself
some
pumpkin spice.
What is this?
Pumpkin spice cream laor. Okay. So,
it's like uh
it's like eggnog
but not quite.
This is leftover from the party.
Honestly, I like this stuff.
And yes, this is the bar. Of course,
also if we can stream from the phone
like this and the stream's working
really well
and cuz that was our problem down
before. We didn't have enough Wi-Fi to
stream in the bar. But now if we do have
enough Wi-Fi because it only has to go
to the phone out there in the other
room, we could have two mics right here
and just do the podcast from here,
right?
That would be a goal. Of course, we
would also need someone down here on a
tablet or something just to monitor the
[music]
monitor the the chat going by, right?
So, I can talk to you.
We got into this stuff the other night.
Wild Turkey. It does make good whiskey
sours with like the pre- whiskey sour
mix. So, that's pretty good.
All right, let's go up and and see if
the stream because I can't actually see
what you're saying, chat. Let's go back
up.

If the camera was stationary or is it
fine when you were moving around it was
crackling?

from me touching the mic
or was it crackling when me touching the
camera? Interesting.
I think it may be the mic's crackling
and not have the Wi-Fi signal. Okay.

I still have my phone on me. Yeah. When
we take a jaunt to the kitchen
and take this pumpkin spice lor stuff
and give it a zap, see what it tastes
like.
I am freaking hungry
because I'm still on this diet.
And the diet uh is me trying to get to
169.9 lbs so I can get under 70. I
weighed myself this morning at the gym
before I was hydrated and I was 172.4.
So in terms of morning weigh-ins, I have
three lbs to go.
I've been on the diet since
uh throughout the entire month of
January. [music] So, all right. How does
this pumpkin spice lor taste? Warm.
Still too warm. Too warm.
A little different.
How you guys doing? Um,
I really want to drive the giveaway car
more. It's the uh 95 Toyota Starlet.
It's right now under the porch protected
from the weather.
But in order to get it out, we would
have to dig a path through the yard. And
like most of the country, what's been
going on out here is that the or most of
the East Coast after the first light
snow, then came sleet. And the sleet
compacted and in some parts, it's enough
to support my weight so you don't sink
into the snow. It's like sheets of ice
out there. Now, thankfully, my roommates
and I were able to clear everything out
with help from the snow [ __ ] 9000,
which is what I named my new to me
snowblower. Growing up, my parents never
allowed me to have a My dad was against
snowblowers,
but he wasn't against letting the
neighbors
bring their snowblower over and giving
us a hand. He was fine with that. So, I
went on a Facebook marketplace and
brought bought a Craftsman snowblower.
This ancient thing put furry stickers on
it. Anybody who comes over with a
Sharpie can I felt something sticky. Um,
can come over and spray stuff or spray
stuff. What am I talking about? Can
write stuff on the snowblower. and the
snowblower made it through the the first
bit of the
uh the big snow day and then the
self-propelled
uh feature stopped working. Thankfully,
my roommate Holly figured out that it
was the idler pulley that had gotten
loose and was throwing the drive belt
off. Quick tighten that up. Putting the
belt back on. Great. The snowblower
drives itself again. Right now, it's
only running with half choke. It won't
run on itself. It'll need the choke. So
that means uh that uh one of the jets is
probably clogged in the carburetor. So
good thing about these they're not
Yanmar engines. They're um to come see
something or other. And the jet you can
take out without taking the carburetor
off or even the float bowl out. It's
just a screw underneath supposedly. Just
unscrew and it comes right out. Of
course you're going to have to drain the
carburetor, drain this little fuel tank
right there.
and take that out. Carb cleaner will
stick and hopefully it'll run fine after
that. And then after that, uh, I guess
everything else I'd have to do when the
summer's over is just lube everything
about this. I have a pimple right here,
which is weird for someone over 40.
Normally, you don't get these things.
Um, I'll tell you right now, when you
reach middle age, if you do get a zit,
it will be a seasoned veteran.
It's not going to go quietly into the
night.
So, let's take care of this.
See if I can figure it out. Oh. All
right.
I'm also thankful for uh one of my
friends Disparity
for
shaving my head the other day. There it
goes.

I've shown it on the stream before, but
this is the jungle bathroom
with the original wallpaper to the
house. Very, very loud wallpaper.
I should really check the uh status of
the stream after doing that just to make
sure the chat is fine.
Should also be having like a laptop or
something like that.
I'm noticing though that the quality of
the stream is not as good as when
streaming to your phone
as it is when you have the wire going
directly from
the when you're bypassing your phone
completely and just running a wire
directly from the the camera into the
computer. Gee, I wonder why.
Um, oh, we had a super chat right here.
Uh, Alex says, "Would you work for
someone like Makeshift to create your
finance bird flush?" I talked to someone
at Megaplex. It's not Makeshift if
somebody else who wants to do a finance
bird plush. So, yes, I do want to do
them. I haven't heard back from them in
a while. So, yes, I do want to do one.

Crackled when you move the camera.
Um, no. When you're moving around the
house. Would you review an ebike? Uh,
yeah. I'll do an ebike.
Uh, it just crackled right now, too. So,
maybe not Wi-Fi or dropping packets.
Don't hear a crackle right now. You're
near the kitchen now. Mat says, "Is a
signal crackle for sure, but I was in
the Bunnings parking lot garageed me."
Interesting. LOL. East Coast kitchen.
Hell yes it is. Signal drop for a
second. Cut out for a second.
Interesting.
Kitchen is brown. Lots of crackles.
Crunch back. Crackle and lag when
there's a lot of movement like with the
cleaver. Maybe lowering the resolution
settings. Given you have at least three
wireless links going on at the same time
is bound to be interference. Well,
that's true.
Huh. Okay. crackle is happening right
now when you're in a kitchen talking
about a snowblower. Okay,
interesting.
Um, also the crackle. Hey, I want full
Wi-Fi here. No problem. You're a bit
choppy on the audio.
Okay.
All right.
So, we're learning that
that while the wife while the mobile
nature of
the action 5
does work, it's not a substitution for
just running things directly from the
wire and bypassing all this Wi-Fi
signals going around right now.
Yeah, it's still crackly still. Hello,
RCR. Okay.
Um, but the audio is getting cracked
more often. Sad life, man. Okay. Might
reconnect the mic. Well, the mic is like
this. I'm talking like barley now.
Everybody likes the streamers just take
the mic and just eat it like this. Isn't
this awesome?
Uh, if you had to choose between a fifth
gen 4Runner Limited and a GX 460, what
would you choose?
Well, we talk Oh, fifth gen. No, the the
only fourth gen that I think the only
Yeah, it's the fourth gen, but the
fourth gen also has
um the 2Z. No, I would take the Lexus
every single time. Yeah,
it's definitely a mic connection issue.
You know what? That makes sense. That
makes sense because this mic is
wirelessly going to this camera, but the
camera is sending a Wi-Fi signal to
here.
So, we've got this guy in the middle
[ __ ] up the program.
So, maybe that's what's going on.
So,

this stream and restart it with the
Action 5 just as a normal camera. We're
