The Wall Street Journal also reported that the United States might prepare sanctions against the ICC, the International Criminal Court. Donald Trump does not want the ICC to have any power over Americans or American countries,
and these sanctions could bar U.S. companies from providing any money to the ICC. Same for Americans. The ICC, worth noting, was created in 2002 to prosecute individuals accused of genocide.
So this was right after 9-11. Prosecute war crimes, prosecute crimes against humanity. The United States and Israel have been really concerned about the ICC, mostly because of what's going on in the Gaza Strip, what's going on in parts of Lebanon,
and also some of the mistakes that have occurred in the strikes against Iran, including that school. And so there are fears that, remember that school strike killed 123 children, for example, but there are fears that reports of war crimes to the ICC and then prosecutions by the ICC
could be bad for Bibi of Israel or Donald Trump. And Donald Trump does not like any agency that has power that he can't influence. And there's a belief that the ICC might not be subject to U.S. power.
