- **Easter Egg: Black Widow Sneaks Up** [01:49] — Wolverine senses Captain America but not Black Widow, highlighting her super spy skills.
- **Wolverine's Brown Suit** [02:15] — Wolverine wears his brown and tan suit, designed by John Byrne for a more grounded camouflage look. His bone claws make a crunching sound instead of the classic 'snikt'.
- **Sponsor Segment: Hone Health** [02:41] — The video includes a sponsored segment about Hone Health, a TRT clinic for men experiencing testosterone decline.
- **Flashbacks to Weapon X** [04:01] — The episode shows flashbacks from 'Weapon X, Lies and Videotape,' referencing the film 'Sex, Lies, and Videotape' and Wolverine's missing memories.

- **Brood's Inability to Assimilate Wolverine** [10:50] — The Brood previously failed to assimilate Wolverine because of his adamantium. Now without it, they can infect him, but his healing factor slows the process.
- **Morph Turns into Sasquatch** [11:03] — Morph turns into Sasquatch, a member of Alpha Flight, to fight a mutated Brood bear. They gain the physical abilities of anyone they imitate.
- **Lady Deathstrike's Fox Myth** [11:40] — Lady Deathstrike tells a story about a magical shape-shifting fox, referencing the nine-tailed fox Kitsune from Japanese mythology, to mess with Morph's head.
- **Aliens References** [12:51] — The facility entrance scene evokes the movie 'Aliens' when the colonial marines enter Hadley's Hope. A dead scientist on a pool table may nod to Bill Paxton's death in 'Tombstone'.

- **Morph Turns into Puck** [15:10] — Morph turns into Puck, another Alpha Flight member, to attack aliens on the ceiling, then into The Thing to stomp an alien, nodding to John Carpenter's 'The Thing.'
- **Wolverine's Plan** [16:03] — Wolverine intentionally leads Morph to the adamantium infusion chamber, knowing he needs help to get his adamantium back, but can't trust Sabretooth and Lady Deathstrike.
- **Reference to 'The Thing'** [16:42] — Sabretooth's line 'one of those things?' references 'The Thing,' where paranoia about who is infected is central.
- **Weapon X DVDs** [17:09] — The DVDs contain files on various Weapon X subjects, including X-23, Ajax, Aurora, Phantom X, Silver Fox, and others, setting up future storylines.
- **Brood Experimentation** [19:21] — The Weapon X program experimented with the Brood to overcome the defect of human memory, making subjects more ferocious and easier to control.
- **Omega Red Reveal** [20:00] — Omega Red, an unstoppable Soviet killing machine, is revealed in a suspended animation tank, similar to Bucky in 'Captain America: Civil War.'
- **Morph Turns into Guardian** [21:05] — Morph turns into Guardian, leader of Alpha Flight, hoping Wolverine won't attack his old friend James Hudson.
- **Deadpool Nod** [21:33] — Morph turns into Deadpool, nodding to Deadpool's creation in the Canadian branch of Weapon X. The creators likely debated using him but saved him for later.
- **Sabretooth's Taunt** [22:15] — Sabretooth taunts Morph about their unrequited love for Logan, hitting a nerve.
- **Silver Samurai** [22:28] — Morph turns into Silver Samurai, a Wolverine villain. The sword is made of their body, so it folds and crumbles when stuck in a wall.
- **Debate About Logan's Soul** [22:54] — The fight becomes a debate about Logan's soul, with Lady Deathstrike claiming the real Wolverine is the feral beast, while Morph believes in his humanity.
- **Morph Turns into Cyclops** [23:35] — Morph turns into Cyclops to taunt Logan, knowing Logan is jealous of Scott and Jean's relationship. This provokes Logan to attack.
- **Sabretooth's Injury** [24:20] — Sabretooth is severely injured by Brood Logan, with skin burned from his chest, before his healing factor kicks in.
- **Morph Appeals to Logan's Good Side** [24:45] — Morph reminds Logan that he didn't leave them behind when Sinister took over, appealing to the good in him.
- **Morph Turns into Jean** [25:09] — Morph turns into Jean to reach Logan, mirroring last season when they confessed their feelings. It's heartbreaking that they must become someone else to earn his affection.
- **Adamantium Restored** [25:22] — The procedure restores Wolverine's adamantium, cleaner than in the comics where Apocalypse rebonded it in Wolverine #125.
- **Morph as Spider-Man** [25:35] — Morph turns into Spider-Man, faithful to his look from 'Spider-Man: The Animated Series,' which crossed over with the X-Men.
- **Wolverine Breaks Out** [26:01] — Wolverine uses his claws to make X scratches on the glass and breaks out, recreating the classic cover from Wolverine #1.
- **Emotional Confrontation** [26:14] — On the jet, Wolverine and Morph have an emotional confrontation. Wolverine sees himself as a monster, while Morph sees the man. Wolverine says he's the best at being a monster, a play on his catchphrase.
- **Reflection Shot** [27:05] — Logan looks at his reflection in his claws, seeing the warrior, while Morph in the background represents how others see him. The final shot of Logan looking over a mountain is reminiscent of 'Predator.'

### Conclusion

The episode is a deep dive into Wolverine's psyche and his relationships, particularly with Morph, while setting up future storylines with the Brood and Weapon X. It masterfully blends Easter eggs from comics and previous series with emotional character development.

with Easter eggs and shows us how Wolverine could debut in the liveaction Ryan Air, and this is all of the Easter eggs, references, and little things you might have missed in season 2, episode 5 of X-Men 97. First, let's break down the
new opening credits of this episode, and I'll talk about some of the episodes of the original series that the episode is drawing from. Morph does the previously >> because this really is their episode to shine. Their faith in Wolverine saves
his life and probably saves the world. But as we'll talk about later, it's a hollow victory for them because emotionally they are devastated by the this episode from last season when Magneto rips the adamanththeium from
Wolverine's body. And this is of course adapted from the classic comic X-Men 25, which led to Wolverine leaving the team a week later in Wolverine issue 75. Now, this sparked a story line that went on for years of Wolverine learning to work
ways to get it back. After almost six years, Apocalypse finally pits him against Saber-Tooth in single combat. And as a reward for winning, Apocalypse puts Saber-Tooth's adamantium skeleton into Wolverine's body. It's a victory
for Logan, but bitterly ironic because a part of his worst enemy is always going flashback, we hear Logan say, >> "The brave always die first." Magneto in season 1, >> "The brave are always the first to die."
And then we see Wolverine from episode 1 when he had his pharaoh look. Now this actually started in Wolverine issue 100 when Cable's son Tyler, the villain Genesis, tried to give Logan his adamantium back, but when his body
rejected the process, it overcompensated by making him more beastlike than ever. postredit scene from last episode, a nod to this cover from Uncanny X-Men. And here's an Easter egg that I missed. When Wolverine sees Cap, he says,
>> "Smelled you coming a mile away, boy scout." But Black Widow, a super spy, is actually able to sneak up on him. >> Down, boy. >> And then the opening credits return us to the main team now that everybody is

mission where they were on a Black Ops team called Team X where Wolverine was teammate Maverick behind. And we actually see a clip of that mission in these opening titles. However, this opening also adds this scientist, which

they're separated, this is when Logan is infected by the Brood. So, let me take a second to explain the Brood because they are one of my favorite X-Men villains, comics. They first appeared in Uncanny X-Men 155, and they were created by
They're inspired by the Xenomorphs Aliens in that they lay eggs in your stomach and then use the human body to reproduce. The key difference is is that similar to Invasion of the Body Snatchers or John Carpenters, The Thing.
In the very first Brood story in the comics, the X-Men became infected and her own mortality and reckon that even though she's a teenager, she can die. It's a great story. Now, the brood were ultimately defeated when they infected

mutated brood bear, Morph turns into Sasquatch, a member of Alphalight. that they gain the physical abilities of anyone they imitate, making their Sasquatch form very strong. Logan leaps in and tries to stab the bear, but
notice his bone claws have little effect. This shows us one, why Wolverine wants to get his adamanthium back. He still fights in his own style, and it makes him a liability in combat. And two, Saber-Tooth, who doesn't have to
rely on his claws, can just snap the bear's neck. So, the clear lesson here is that to beat guys like Saber-Tooth, Wolverine needs his adamantium to be at claws, Euro says, >> "Impossible.

>> "Or clawed their way out." Now, notice the gashes on this man's chest are similar to the claw marks that Wolverine cuts into people. I think this is just a small visual clue to link Logan to the monsters. It's a way of saying that he
is just another beast created by Weapon X and to hint that he's already been also be a reach, but the dead scientist laying on a pool table might be a nod to Bill Paxton. He famously died in aliens.
>> Game over, man. It's game over. >> Which is a line that Maverick says later >> Game over. That's it. It's game over. But Bill Paxton also died in the movie Tombstone and he died on a pool table.
Then Morph discovers a woman with her arm ripped off. Never saw that on Saturday mornings. And it's important that they are shocked here. Morph never always playing the role of the goofball. This is likely the first time they've
ever seen a death this savage. And it's all building up to the emotional climax of the episode when they realize that the man they love, Wolverine, is also a monster that is capable of creating this level of mayhem. So, they diffused the

Just like in this episode, that movie takes place in an empty facility on a cold landscape where an alien infects humans by assuming their form. And later paranoid that one of them could be the alien, just like what happens in The

Saber-Tooth, and Maverick in the comics. And I love this detail. This is the Winter Soldier, who at this point in time is probably still on ice in a Russian facility somewhere. Here's another hero from the MCU. Weapon 6 is
also cenamed Project Power. They conducted the experiments that gave Luke the name power man in the comics. We also see of course Wolverine Silver Fox and then of course we see Garrison Kane. RIP.

Deadpool. And I bet the creators actually debated whether or not to use thing they didn't use him because the animated series debut of Deadpool would everything else that happens. He and Warf would have been trading barbs the
the chemistry of the episode. I should note too that Deadpool never really really brief cameos. So, I'm betting that now they're saving him for to abandon Logan, Saber-Tooth knows how to hit Morph right where it hurts.
>> And he's just got you this whip. >> Remember, Morph is in love with Logan, return their feelings. That's why they had to turn into Gene to tell him how >> I love you, Logan. >> Then he turns into the silver samurai, a
of Daredevil, but became a primary villain of Wolverine. His halfsister, Maro Yoshida, was engaged to Wolverine in the comics. And Wolverine also episode, Lotus and Steel. And by the way, notice that during the fight when
Moor's sword goes into a wall, it just kind of like folds and crumbles. I'm made up of their body. So, it's kind of like putty. So, this fight turns into a debate about Logan's soul. >> That monster in there, that's the real
>> Logan is a character that is always at war with himself. There's the Wolverine who constantly fills the pool of his savage side. It's why he likes to go deer. But his human side is why he enjoys being an X-Men. It's why he's
friends with Morph. It's his way of keeping close to his humanity. Now, Death Strike tries to say that the real Wolverine is the feral beast inside. And then Saber-tooth points out >> he was in the adamantium chamber, the

reasons. Logan always bristled under Scott's leadership. >> You know nothing, little man. >> And he's obviously jealous of Scott and >> And he's obviously jealous of Scott and Jean's relationship.

the chance to actually kill his oldest enemy. >> Time I put you down once and for all, >> which was just silly. Logan could always survive a simple stabbing, but brood Logan shrugs it off immediately. Notice
that when Saber-Tooth gets up, the skin has literally burned from his chest, exposing his organs. And this is before his healing factor can kick in. Then, when Morph is trying to talk Logan down and appeal to the good in him, they say,
"When Sinister took me over, you didn't leave me behind. You came for me. Tried >> And they're referring to season 2 when Mr. Sinister brainwashed Morph into becoming a villain. But Logan never stopped advocating for them to rejoin
the team. >> Goodbye, Logan. Morph, wait. >> But it turns out that Morph just doesn't mean that much to Logan, but Jean does. Jean. >> This is a mirror of last season when
their feelings to Logan. It must break their heart to have to become someone else in order to earn his affections. And of course, the procedure works and his adamantium is restored. This is all a lot cleaner than how it happens in the
comics where Apocalypse rebonded it to him as a reward in Wolverine issue 125. Omega Red Buren flanked by the brood who, as Morph said, they can't harm him, so he's using them. Morph fights him by turning into Spider-Man and actually a
pretty faithful reproduction of his look from Spider-Man the Animated Series. Remember, Spider-Man actually met the X-Men in the Neoenic Nightmare arc. >> I help them accept who and what they are. Accept it, but I don't want to be a
freak. And then he's back, baby. Wolverine uses his claws to make the iconic X scratches against the glass, and he breaks out just like in the videotape. Then he recreates this classic cover from Wolverine issue 1.
I'm back, baby. >> The team barely escapes, blowing up the base in the process. Again, similar to the ending of Aliens. Symbolically, the confirmation that Maverick is staying dead, unless they resurrect him for a
future program. on the jet. Notice that Saber-Tooth's chest is now healing, but think the true climax of this episode is the emotional confrontation they have on the jet. Wolverine says, >> "I ain't like you, Morph. Some of us got
>> And then Morph replies, >> "And you're only what, an animal with >> Morph has always seen something more in Logan. They saw the man, not the monster. But for Logan, he believes his value to the world is only what he can
do as a monster. He does the dirty work to spare boy scouts like Cyclops from then he ends with >> that's what I'm the best at being >> a play on his iconic catchphrase that I mentioned earlier. And after saying
>> Morph goes to sit with Death Strike, which is a way to acknowledge that she was right about the myth of the tomo. And then we get this incredible shot of Logan looking at his reflection in his claws with Morph in the background. It's
a way for Logan to see his two selves. In his claws, he sees a reflection of the warrior. and then morph a reflection of how the other person sees him as a Logan looking out over the mountain seems to be lifted from the haunting
final shot of Predator where Dutch looks into the distance fully changed by the fight that he's just won that also cost him his innocence. Well guys, that's all found any, let me know in the comments below or find me on Twitter, Blue Sky
