## Summary

## Transcript

Welcome to Hooies Garage, the dumbest
automotive channel in all of YouTube.
And this is a day that I really never
thought would come. I knew it was
coming. I knew it was a year away, then
six months away, then a month away, then
a week away, but I just never thought
the day would actually come where I
would have my last trip up to visit the
Car Wizard, my friend of almost 20
years. I'm a mechanic for over 15 years
is moving away from Kansas, slowing
things down a little bit, and relocating
to Los Cusus, New Mexico. And I don't
know what I'm going to do because
basically my entire adult life as far as
working on cars, it has been the car
wizard that has taken care of me when it
comes to my car issues for the most
part. Uh so much so that we had a TV
show on Motor Trend called Car issues. I
really don't know any other way to do it
other than bring the car up to the car
wizard. And that chapter of my life,
which is a big 15-year chapter, is
closing.
And it's it's very sad. I mean, it's not
like he's dying or anything like he's
moving away. He's healthy. He's happy.
He's doing what someone would normally
do in that season of life if they made
good financial decisions unlike me. He's
built up a million subscriber YouTube
channel and had all the success. A lot
of it for me writing checks for the car
repairs, but also by not making
disastrous personal decisions like
buying a Bugatti Veyron and stuff like
that. So, he's done very well for
himself. And he can do this. He can move
down, slow down, kind of scale things
down, but he's still going to be a
mechanic in New Mexico, but it's just
over 10 hours away. So, it's just not
practical for me to drive 10 hours down
for him to work on a car. But, I do have
a solution, and it's sort of a radical
step that I am going to unveil in this
video. I don't know if it's going to
work cuz this is a pretty crazy idea,
but it's going to be fun no matter what.
But the first word that pops into my
head for this situation is is scary and
unknown because forever I've had this
known solid person to take care of my
issues and and now I don't. This is it.
We are in the final days for you to
enter for a chance to win my beautiful
1992 454 SS Chevy pickup truck at
phantom.com/hoviesgar.
It is linked below. This thing is
incredible. Of the three years of
production, about 17,000 made from 91 to
93. 92, one of the most rare years, less
than 10% of production and the first
year of the coveted four-speed automatic
transmission. Gave you an extra highway
gear for better cruising, but also a
second faster 0 to 60 with that 454
cubic inch V8 under the hood. And this
thing has been redone. It is full out
show truck and just gorgeous fresh paint
job. And you can see in the back this
really beautiful custom wood treatment.
This is hand painted. It is artwork.
Same when you look inside of the bed,
more of that wood treatment and a bed
liner. So, you could actually use this
thing, but it is proper proper show
truck. Blended rear bumper there, dual
exhaust, custom wheels, and once again,
look at this beautiful paint job. Also
hopped up under the hood. The 454 cubic
inch V8. It's been out and rebuilt at
some point before I owned it. And it's
definitely a lot faster than stock. And
the car was just went through it, the
air conditioning, a bunch of other
stuff. So, it has his seal of approval.
And inside, it is just as gorgeous as
the outside. Oh, they certainly don't
make them like they used to anymore. or
you need a Randy Travis CD to pop in
there. But
I guess you don't need music with this
Berberly big block V8.
Oh, and you can own this thing. Just
enter for a chance to win. It is a
keychain or a mug and you can own this
454 SS pickup truck. And it's all being
handled by fan.com. They are an amazing
company. They've done several giveaways
for me so far. Let me turn down the
tunes. I think this is the seventh or
eighth one. They're a great company,
veteranowned and operated, and they do a
great job with these things. Now, prices
on these things have been going through
the roof. 40, 50, $60,000 for low
mileage examples. So, this is the most
expensive thing probably value-wise that
I have ever given away on the channel,
more than the Belling Continental GT,
which actually ended up on the East
Coast as someone's daily driver. So,
this really is an opportunity. All you
have to do fathan.com who hooies garage
buy a mug or a keychain a download and
you could own this truck. This is my
last sunset cruise in this truck. The
next one it'll be one of you and you are
going to love this thing.

Hello. Oh, of course you are. Are you
sorting through your funnels?
>> Trying to figure out which ones are
going to Los Cruus and which ones I'm
going to keep here.
>> You're not going to take all of them?
Some of them I need to leave for
Danielson. So, he has some funnels.
>> Okay. Well, and you have your your
drains and your pumps.
>> Swedish made pump here
>> and your inbalming machine. Is that
stand or is that going to Los Cruus?
>> It's going to Los Cusus.
>> How many times do you use that for a
car?
>> Really?
>> Yeah. We transmissions from the bottom.
We fill them with it.
>> Well, it's hard to believe, but after
almost 20 years, over 15 years you
working on my cars, you're moving away.
This is it.
>> This is it. And it's weird cuz other
than my cars, your workshop is empty
there.
>> Hello.
>> There's nothing in here.
>> It's empty. Yeah.
>> So, I know the Lotus is done from the
last video. There's a few things about
the hatches back on, but there's there's
nothing else for you to do.
>> No, I'm going to start boxing stuff up.
>> All right. Well, Daniel's son, he's I
know he's been crying every single day.
He's just so sad.
>> He's so sad. Yeah, I'm sure.
>> Definitely an end of an era for sure.
They're crocodile tears, wizard. They're
>> crocodile tears. That's right.
>> What did you do to Daniel? But tell me
about the Lotus because this has been
here for almost 6 months
and we do have a few little leaks,
right?
>> It does have some crimps on some oil
cooler lines that are leaking just a
little bit.
>> You're out of time for me to do that.
>> Out of time. Yes.
>> But the hatch is back on. It's running
great.
>> New clutch, rebuilt transmission. a lot
of things fixed, but it is a Lotus. Oh,
the roof. Yes. Lots of trouble. Usually
serious, but there's a lot less troubles
on this thing.
>> Yeah, it actually runs really good now.
>> Okay. So, you have a bill for this one?
>> Yes. And I have a bill for that one.
>> All right. The Elderorado, the
Elderorado 2.0, I guess. But this one
definitely hot rodded where somebody
took the 500 cubic inch engine and made
it into this insane thing right here.
It's It's unbelievable. It was probably
600 horsepower 500 cubic inch V8, but it
wasn't finished. So, the AC had to get
hooked up, but then it wasn't restored
on the outside, so it had some window
problems, some seat problems.
>> Daniel's son's wiring back up the
climate control, it looks like. Huh.
>> Yeah. He just had a melted wire. And I'm
trying to find out what the heck this
thing is.
>> That doesn't look happy.
>> Yeah, it doesn't.
>> So, we'reing some things up, huh?
>> Mhm. Getting close. Very, very close.
This is pretty much almost done.
>> Almost done. the old fuse and some
wiring. And is the bill ready for this
one too?
>> It is.
>> So, this is it. There's There's no more
Car Wizard inspections. There's no more
Car Wizard repair. You're going to lose,
New Mexico. It's a long ways to ship a
car.
>> It is a long ways.
>> This This is crazy. So, the last bill
pay as well.
Wow.
>> A lot of lasts all at once.
>> Wow.
>> Mhm.
>> Okay. Here's the Lotus bill.
>> Two pages, which means that's that's a
lot. But I know I put some money down on
this thing. So
>> you did. So
>> 2750 for the time water pump service and
all that stuff. And I provided the parts
for this.
>> Yes, you did.
>> So whatever it was, $4,000 in parts I
bought from Michigan. So $3,000. So that
means your total was just shy $6,000. So
>> the whole bill ended up being that much.
Yes.
>> Yeah. Your but then there were four
$5,000 in parts. So that's a that's a
$11,000 thing on the Lotus Spree V8.
>> Yes.
But wait, there's more.
>> That's That's Ferrari level. How's the
Cadillac? It can't be that bad.
>> Oh, not too far off.
>> Not too Well, that's that's pretty far
off. $2,65.
So, yeah, we had to finish out the AC
conversion. A lot of parts that VR valve
is $429.
>> Yes, you have to buy them online.
They're remanufactured. You really can't
just go out and buy one of those.
>> Jeez. Okay. And then the uh fixing the
windows, 500 bucks. All right. $2,65.
So, the last bill is a spicy one.
>> It is over five grand, but there's more
>> there. There is one more. I'm I'm
prepared for this. It's not a surprise.
And that is
>> rent for the building.
>> July.
>> First month's rent on this building in
Newton, Kansas. Cuz the car wizard is
moving away. I have my dealer's license
up here. So, it was either give that up,
which makes my YouTube really difficult,
or try and make a business out of it.
And Daniel and I just started talking
and
we're making a go of it up here.
>> Mhm.
>> It's going to be the Hooptilot with
Danielson. And, you know, Hooiey's
Garage continues as normal with
Danielson doing the work. But that means
you get $3,000 a month for me for the
rest of your life.
>> For as long as this whole never lasts.
>> I mean, I've been giving you thousands
of dollars a month for the last 15 plus
years. So it would feel weird to not
just send you money. I had to I mean I
have to just keep doing it for some
reason. So
>> Oh, so
>> all of these all together is that total
there.
>> $8,8227
the final bill from Wizard which not
really because every month
>> every month another one
>> you'll be calling me and I imagine if
I'm a day late you'll be driving up from
Los Cusus and and chasing me down.
>> Yes. I'll be chasing and finding out
where you went
>> or or Daniel break his thumbs first.
Well no don't break his thumbs right. We
need him for the work. So, I'm gonna
talk to you more, Wizard, in a little
bit, but Danielson Son, we need to talk
about our business and what we're doing
here.
>> Sounds good to me.
>> Okay, Danielson, I said the shop was
empty, but really your hooptie fleet is
kind of taking up a lot of space here.
>> Yeah, these are all the cars that I've
been collecting.
>> And this is your baby, the 240 SX.
>> Yes, this is probably my worst purchase.
>> The mechanic shop is going to continue
under Daniel Sun. I'm going to bring
cars up here just like I would be the
Wizard. There are going to be bills for
you to pay just like the Wizard. It's
going to be a little different because
I'm leasing the space and there's going
to be shared expenses with all that. So,
everything stays the same. The Wizard's
getting all new equipment, new lifts in
New Mexico. So, it's very nice that we
get to keep all this. Obviously, some
tools and stuff are going, but the big
twist is going to be the hoopt. So,
I I can't believe I'm saying this, but
I'm I'm back to being a used car dealer,
the used car salesman, and I've started
to gather nuts from Hoopty Auctions to
start selling. They're actually they're
actually outside. So, this is the first
few gatherings of the Hoopty lot, I love
Hooptie so much that going back to the
auctions, it just feels like home. And
buying these goofy things like an 03
Hummer H2, Nissan Armada, Buick Reneer
with just shy of 100,000 miles, little
lady special. These Acadias, I probably
looked at 10 or 20 of them with stretch
timing chains and bad transmission
before finding a good one. And this
one's a good one. And then the Nissan
Titan, the kind of stuff that people in
Newton, Kansas would be looking for,
wanting to buy, kind of cheaper cars
that'll get you from A to B. But then
also, there's going to be some specialty
things, some cool stuff that maybe we
sell online like this Buick Riviera,
which hop in this thing, Daniel. You
haven't seen it since it got cleaned up.
>> I just love the digital kind of Star
Trek display on this thing.
So cool. Of course, the camera's messing
with it because it's LED, but just a
time capsule 80,000 mi Buick. I've never
met a Buick that I didn't like. So,
>> dude, this thing is very, very clean
now.
>> It's It's very cool. And every once in a
while, well, I mean, it's pretty
regularly the opportunities like this
pop up where normally I wouldn't have
bought them cuz it's like, you know, I
don't think I'd make a YouTube video
about this, but still, it's something
really neat. So, there is opportunity
there for me to buy where, you know, it
is possible that I might make some money
on this. It it's it I mean there's a
small chance, but the goal is to keep
everything operating, keep Daniel busy
enough in cars, fixing things, and and
maybe not lose as much money when I was
just writing checks to the car wizard
for, you know, the tune of 100 to
$200,000 a year for the last 15 years.
>> So, um, you know, so no matter what,
it's going to be cheaper than that.
>> You think so?
>> Whether the business makes a lot of
money for me or not, I don't know. But,
but it's it's exciting. I mean, I'm sad
about the car wizard for sure leaving. I
mean, it's just almost a 20-year
friendship and all that stuff, but a
change needed to happen.
>> No, he wants to retire and then he's
making a way for somebody, you know, to
be able to grow, somebody new, so giving
an opportunity to somebody else.
>> So, it's very nice for him to give us
this shot where all the equipment stays
in reasonable rent and these cars could
keep Daniel busy as far as outside of my
Hooie's garage cars. he can keep them
busy, you know, fixing them up and then
putting them on the lot and selling a
few and hopefully making some money. The
the getting them, the buying them, I can
do that. The fixing them, he can do
that. The selling them and making money,
that's that that's the part that I've
always struggled with, but it's it's
certainly possible. You're always Bob
and so many others make a living doing
it. So, that's that's what's going to
happen. I'm I'm back. I mean, I am full
dived in head first into hoopties again.
And it it feels it feels oh so good. So,
you need Yeah, you can grow your beard
out, dye it orange, you know, work on
your innuendos a bit.
>> Okay. I'll start working on it.
>> It'll be perfect. But Daniel's son, he's
he's sticking around and the world it
kind of stays the same.
>> Kind of.
>> Kind of. Okay, Wizard. I'm not done with
you yet because I spent hours pouring
through the internet.
>> Oh, yeah.
>> To trace back our almost 20 years
together.
>> It's been that long.
>> It's been that long. It starts in 2009.
I found it. February 12th, our very
first interaction where you post on
Mercedeshop.com that you bought a 240D.
>> Wow. I I now remember now that I see it.
I would have never even remembered any
of this.
>> Just introducing myself. I bought a 8 A3
240D from Kansas City for 1,200 bucks.
Nearly rust-free body. You're talking
about maybe converting it over to veggie
oil, that kind of stuff.
>> That was cool back then.
>> Everybody is welcoming you, including
me. But I am jealous because I saw that
car on Craigslist. I was going to go
look at it and I was curious if it was
the same one and then tell you from
Holstead, Kansas, and realized you're
the first Fris Swarm that's within a
stones throw from me.
>> Mhm.
>> So, this is back in 2009, right before
Valentine's Day.
>> Wow.
>> And it's our first interaction. You do
reply to me and you're a little bit
snarky. It's funny because you did say,
"Hey, this guy said somebody else was
coming to look at it and I beat you to
it." and you you smoked me and you were
kind of you were kind of bragging about
it.
>> I had gotten up there first and snagged
it from you. Yeah.
>> So, I know we interacted a little bit on
the forums, but typical for you, you
didn't keep that car for very long. I
mean, for you, maybe a year. It was a
long time for you. Yeah.
>> But then you moved on. You made this
really hard to find cuz then you deleted
your your like profile and things. So,
it took a lot of digging for me to find
this. But you posted back up actually.
So maybe you didn't delete it yet
because on November 14th, you said, "I
am opening my own shop."
>> Yes. That's when it all started.
>> 35minute drive north of Witchah. You're
basically doing your spiel. What I love
about this post is you're saying your
shop rates are $45 an hour for repairs,
$45 for a computer diagnostic.
We What happened?
>> Inflation
time.
>> Uh-huh.
>> 45. That's I couldn't survive on that
today.
>> No. It's it's it's insane that uh back
in 2011 it's a totally different world
where $45 an hour seemed like a lot.
>> Well, back then mechanic shops were like
75 an hour 80 and that was pretty high
then. So,
>> and now they're $400 an hour for
specialty shops and things. It is it is
pretty crazy. So,
>> I replied saying, "Hey, I'm giving you a
shot. He's got my 2001 Discovery 2 that
I purchased last week for pennies." And
I remember this thing. It was
ridiculously ridiculously clean. A
little over 100,000 miles. I remember
it. Yeah.
>> But failing head gaskets. Look at that
interior. I think I bought it for like
1,000 or 1,500 bucks. You fixed the head
gaskets for around 1,000 and then I sold
it for I don't know 3,500 4 grand. Not
very much back then. I was like, "This
is going to work."
>> So I sent you another one that I knew
had been overheated. And because I I
sold that one, bought another one, said,
"Hey, let's just keep doing this. Let's
keep fixing discoveries." And it was it
was a total disaster. I'm sure you
remember that, right?
>> Yeah. I could It was terrible.
>> I think one of the cylinders slipped it
sleeve because it was so bad. They
cooked it really bad.
>> So, I called you about it cuz you were
fighting it and I was doing some
research on the internet and I think I
called you when you were sitting down
for family dinner. It wasn't because we
weren't texting all that much yet. So,
this is my first text message to you.
Sorry to bother you at dinner again, but
apparently you can crack a cylinder in
the exhaust. So, I'm talking about how
this engine on this Discovery is
probably dead, right?
>> My in my first ever text message to you
in 2012.
>> Mhm. because otherwise we were just
calling each other because like texting
wasn't a thing yet for older people. I
mean I guess it was by 2012 but I just
didn't text all that much. So that's our
first text message.
>> Yes.
>> But now there's this. This is my first
photo of you.
>> I remember going there. Yeah.
>> On my phone.
>> Mhm.
>> Amelia Island in uh 2016.
>> We drove straight through all the way
there
>> in my 300 SD which is my very first
YouTube video before you converted it to
a manual transmission. And there you are
with a mura and an Aventador at Amelia
Island.
>> And we went to the Dupont Registry
lifestyle party.
>> And we sat down with these really rich
people. And they said under their
breath.
>> What did they say?
>> They said, "Well, we sat at a table that
had a lot of trash from somebody else
that sat there and they looked right at
us, specifically at me, and they said,
you know, they really should sack the
trash here and get the trash."
>> I I remember and I remember them saying
also, "Oh, they just let anybody in here
now."
>> Yeah. Yeah. And it was just and it was
it was just clearly being snoody and
directing it towards us who were, you
know, were the commoners at the DuPont
Registry lifestyle event.
>> And uh I I remember flirting with the
guys kind of trophy wife that was quite
a bit younger and all that stuff in the
buffet line just to try and make him
mad. But that that was our first kind of
trip together. And this is right before
before YouTube. So that
>> any gray hair?
>> No gray hair. You got some hair on top
still.
>> Nice. So, I found this text, too,
because this is when I posted my very
first YouTube video, and you sent me
some encouraging notes. It was very nice
of you where you said, "Awesome video.
Love the rowboat song where I'm saying,
"Row, row, row your gears and and uh,
you know, did a lot of goofy things."
You were you liked a lot.
>> So, I've been Mercedes dieseling for
nearly 10 years now.
>> You're being generous because
>> it's awesome. It's like Star Wars, but
if it had a Jar Jar Binks,
>> it would be the automatic transmission.
>> But my delivery is not very good. The
editing is really weird. You're saying
it's good editing, but uh you
complimented the Barry White, which you
can't use copyright music now, but there
it is looking at the manual
transmission. That was the first kind of
conversion job you did for me. You
weren't in the video, but I mean, your
work was here for my very first YouTube
video.
>> Mhm.
>> But
>> what's with the pig?
>> This is your very first appearance on
Hooie's Garage right here.
>> Hey, Biggy. Biggy.
>> Somebody had a pet pig in town. That's
right. in H Hallstead at your first
blacksmith shop.
>> Mhm.
>> There was this pig
>> and
>> definitely a pig.
>> I I went and basically I'm visiting you
with a $300 Jeep and we're putting a
starter in it
>> and it's it's already established that
I'm not going to be doing the work. U
It's kind It's kind of funny. Yeah.
>> After Dave confirmed the motor wasn't
locked up, we dove in on replacing the
starter. By we, I mean Dave did all the
work and I
supervised.
you had a much higher voice back.
>> My my octaves have changed a little bit,
but I think I can still slip it up there
if I want to. So, I'm just hanging out
watching you work, which became the
theme of the next 10 years basically. It
>> in the YouTube channel.
>> Uhhuh.
>> But
we didn't know this thing was running. A
starter got this thing going. Obviously,
the head gasket was bad. Figured out
pretty quickly. But there's a very young
looking me.
>> It is young. You're like you're in high
school still.
Time for a new chapter with my one of my
favorites. I named Apollo 911. So after
blowing the LS or blowing the 911 engine
and then swapping it into an LS,
>> which is like roughly driving
>> and I'm reading from a sheet of paper
here. That's why it sounds so artificial
and it's raining.
>> Driving at a high performance track.
You're standing here staring at me.
>> Here comes the stare.
>> But before my Porsche motor is yanked
and shipped off.
>> I don't know why I did that.
>> Automotive CSI. He won't stop. happened.
It's a lot of people think this is
>> I was so afraid I think of screwing up
your video cuz I this was completely
alien to me. A lot of metal shavings
caught up in
>> still
plastic pieces caught up in there.
>> I don't know what to do.
>> Scraping away the plastic guide rails.
>> Am I breathing?
>> There we go. Yep.
>> Take a look inside the filter.
>> But listen to this part filter off and
see what we got in here. Listen.
>> The car wizard.
>> First time.
>> The first time.
>> The first time.
>> That's where my name came from. Then
>> you'd call me that before this video.
>> Yes, but not on camera.
>> Yeah.
>> It's more like a kaleidoscope that's
going to put your kid through.
>> That is a dead engine there.
>> Is that engine still sitting around here
somewhere? You finally saw it off.
>> Actually, I think Jared King has it.
>> Oh, okay.
>> So, you Ellis swapped it.
>> Oh, 10 seconds or so. Okay.
>> Actually, it looks like I was helping
you a bit with my dirty hands.
>> Dirty hands. Yeah.
>> So, first big project in the garage for
you as far as like a total custom
fabrication LS swap, which
>> pretty cool though.
>> Pretty cool. But
>> the Bentley was the first time we ever
did a bit together.
>> There's Dino, the dog. He's such a sweet
dog.
But this Bentley spent 10 years in
Russia and I didn't know when I bought
it unfortunately and it had the odometer
rolled back several times, several
accidents. It was a goner. We junked it.
But since it spent time in Russia, we
thought, well, let's do a bit for the
first time, the two of us.
>> Sugar might be a different kind of
medication I wasn't thinking about.
>> So, we're pretending there's Coke in the
back.
>> Oh, wa. Awesome.
>> And you stuff one of your revolvers in
there. I don't even know if you could do
that on camera.
>> You know, I don't I don't know. We'll
see if this gets hit. So, there's your
personality coming out.
>> Mhm. Starting to come out.
>> Then carefully.
>> So, yeah, things were starting to go
viral at this point. You know, 2018.
>> So, this Prius,
there's my feet of strength here.
>> I think you could pick it up easier
today than back then.
>> I I might be a little Look at Look at
that flat butt of mine. Anyway,
>> so this is
>> sort of buying hoopies, fixing them,
that kind of stuff. We're starting to
get into the viral years are starting to
kick in here around 2018.
>> All these iPad size things along with
the old blacksmith shop,
>> but clearly I shouldn't be doing
wrenching.
>> And after getting distracted for a
moment, I began installing the
replacement cells.
>> I'm doing a TV show. So then it
transitions into getting an email
basically saying, "Hey, you want to do a
TV show?" And we ended up shooting three
seasons of a show which was on History
and FYI and then Motor Trend,
>> right?
>> Out of nowhere. I mean, 200,000
subscriber YouTube channel, wasn't it? I
mean,
>> there was a lot back then, but it was
weird to get a cold email from someone
in Hollywood wanting to make a show.
>> It was almost unbelievable.
>> Junkie for a good deal.
>> I just car issues. There it is.
>> Got a lot of cash in here for you. I
bought a Viper. Wa. Bonus points if it's
something unusual. A 700 horsepower
station.
>> It feels like it was a couple years ago,
but it's like 10. It's about 8 years
ago. 2018.
>> Kill me. That's a clip.
>> They're sinking. Turn it off. I hope
>> I smell gas. My name's Tyler Hoover.
I just broke it.
>> And I've got car issues.
>> They seem to dry when you buy them.
>> It's just crazy how quickly things just
sort of exploded.
>> It is. Excuse me, sir.
>> This is when we sort of with the TV show
>> and then that sort of gave the concept
of the wizard inspections and the fixes
>> which I feel like this is the first
version of that where really were into
the format that we used for the next
eight years as far as
>> it was in your barn. You're going to
start working on it again. Yeah.
>> And there's that Alzheimer's Rolls-Royce
>> where the guy hacked the wiring and then
got put in the home.
>> It was bad. I couldn't fix it. It was
too much.
>> So, this is really close to put free
Willy in there is going up. But this is
basically what the format became for the
next 8 years
>> more or less the same where we're
looking underneath
>> doing that and and once again in this
very viral period where this video I
think two and a half million views the
previous video 2 million views
>> and things were just explosive.
>> So, should we take this drove it into
the hole.
>> So Garage is firing on all cylinders
now. We're we're in the groove here. But
this is
>> buried and that's where it's been ever
since. Now I think it's like we decided
let's just bury a car.
>> So
>> and I had the land to do it.
>> It had holes in it. It was mechanically
total 10 times over. There were Lever
people so angry at me for burying this
thing. But I know
>> the fact that it's just to bury a car
and see if it'll start a year later.
>> We just And you had the land. So we we
we had to do it. I mean
>> honestly a lot of people have done that
lately on YouTube channels. I think you
were probably the first.
>> There was Yeah, I think so. That you
know in the here's everything wrong is
>> spray a little starting fluid.
>> Ready?
>> And
there it goes.
>> It's started up.
>> Mhm.
>> Yes. Let's see if the radio comes on.
Wow.
>> Been buried basically in hell for
>> how was that a year?
>> Forever.
>> Yeah.
>> So that's viral for movies garage. But
this
>> was a big thing.
>> It was huge.
>> Car trek.
>> Mhm.
>> And this is your first appearance in
Carre.
>> I poofed in. We started doing
>> this is the address
>> in Las Vegas during co Las Vegas was
shut down. So weird. Who is this magical
person here that's supposed to tell us
all the things wrong with our cars?
>> Oh,
wizard and he appears.
>> I don't think I could carry today back
almost.
And now I'm Where am I?
>> You're not in Kansas anymore.
>> Be in Las Vegas, baby.
>> Vegas.
>> Yes.
>> Amazing. So, next question is why why am
I here?
>> You're doing a lot better now with your
expertise your knowledge. Oh, you think
you're you know what to do with your
hands now?
>> Yeah. Just don't stare at the screen.
>> Nice.
>> Well, I think it's kind of interesting
what we say here.
>> So, how many of these do you think we've
done Wizard?
>> At least 100.
>> Maybe 200. Yes. This is our contribution
to pop culture, I guess. So, what are
your concerns?
>> Well, not much. Is
going on service records. Everything
that's supposed to be done has been it
is a little oily underneath here,
though.
>> Well, we're going to find out today that
the flashlight is truly miter than the
sword.
So 15 years of wrenching, 10 years of
YouTube, three seasons of television,
>> ducks for the turbos,
>> 10 car tracks that you were in like
engine oil,
>> I think. You didn't need to taste it.
>> Oh, I know that now for sure.
>> Why am I so weird?
>> I've been through a lot already.
>> But this I am super super
>> This is my favorite video of us
together.
>> Get set.
>> Yeah. Laying on the ground.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> I'm about 100 miles. Hardest probably
ever laughed.
>> And luckily I made it home. But uh
>> bad head gasket on the Toyota Previa.
The engine's down there. It's a
mid-enine supercharged.
>> Oh yeah.
>> But you took out the spark plugs to try
and get the water out of it. And
>> we all get lucky.
>> Here we go.
>> It's going to squirt.
>> Oh.
>> Holy crap.
>> Just blasted the camera.
>> Good god.
>> Was explosive diarrhea. Think it got the
camera too. Oh, you poor people.
>> You got sharded. Full out hooptie.
>> That was pretty good.
>> I
>> That's YouTube gold right there.
>> I was I was just hysterically laughing
for way longer than this. I edited it
down. I just
>> a van sharding. I just
>> cuz I have like 8-year-old bathroom
humor still as a 40-year-old man.
>> Yeah,
>> that's great.
>> Okay,
you guys are right. But I also have my
favorite Car Wizard video.
>> Oh, yeah.
>> Because you started six years ago with
the car wizard channel.
>> There's slow-mo.
>> So, here comes here comes my favorite
car wizard video.
>> Okay.
>> No, not that one. It's going to be
comedy. It's not going to be
informative. There won't be anything you
doing comedy.
>> How's it going, boys and girls? Here we
are. So everybody
>> Tiger King was during too long ago
>> is watching Tiger King trying to get
things fixed for folks when they come on
down.
>> And what were you thinking?
>> I don't know.
>> Why did you Why did you You called me up
and said, "Hey, I got a script. Come up
and shoot this."
>> Look at you.
>> You're some kind of wizard.
>> That's what they say.
>> You brought one of your cars down.
>> You just went along with it.
>> Got a Lamborghini.
>> A Lamborghini?
>> I went I went full crackhead on it. Yes.
>> Oh boy. Oh boy, that sounds like
>> Where did you find the zoo?
>> I had it for a costume years ago.
>> Like Joel exotic.
>> They're going to know me around the
world.
>> You get arrested.
>> Exotic,
>> but you know, first the musical in blue.
>> But in this video, you're going through
basically your history with the shop and
me and kind of like what we're doing
now, but in the lens of of this, you
know, Tiger King.
>> I could completely forgot that I did
that.
>> It's so cringey. What were you thinking?
But there's there's a prophetic
statement in here that I I found
fascinating that I totally forgot that I
said this.
>> Okay.
>> But anyway, once we get through the
music here,
>> you guys are going to hear from me.
You're going to hear about this for me.
>> You're getting arrested like Tiger King.
>> Yeah.
>> Why don't you go?
>> Yes, sir.
>> Oh.
>> Well, goodness. What are we going to do
now? Well,
I know a lady down in Florida that can
bankroll this thing, but it's under the
condition that I take over as owner
operator of
>> You are now
>> Omega Omega
Clinic.
>> Well,
let's do it.
So,
>> your 2020 video where we were joking
about me taking over with Carol Baskins
is uh Well, I guess Daniel can be Carol
Baskin in this,
>> I guess.
>> So, anyway, that's that's our history.
That's 17 18 years. I mean,
>> Mhm.
>> what what a ride, man.
>> It's been quite a ride. I think we're
both in a place we never thought we
would be. That's for sure.
>> For sure. And I mean, I'm so
appreciative for everything you've done
for me. I It's from, you know, helping
me with the car dealership having
affordable mechanic work to the infancy
of YouTube to the explosive success and
everything else.
>> You're right by my side for all of it.
So, I really don't know. Like,
>> I know that this is happening and you
know, changes changes happen with
everything with life, but like I I'm I
really don't know what I'm going to do.
It's it is really sad. And I do also I
love you.
>> Oh, yeah.
>> I love you. So, thank you so much for
everything and thank you for setting me
up for success
>> uh with this
>> and having something to look forward to
again like me.
>> The compressor kicking on right in the
emotional moment.
>> Let me turn that off again.
>> Yeah, you can turn it off.
>> It's terrible.
>> I was about to I was about to kiss you,
wizard. I was about to finally
Everybody's been waiting for it for
years, but now since the compressor
ruined the mood, I'll I'll put my tongue
back in my mouth, I guess. But it's very
poignant. I'm I've been there have been
moments of like I'm excited for this new
chapter, but at the same time, I'm just
very I'm very very sad to see you go.
And so it's a it's a it's a big both
ways, you know.
>> Well, I wouldn't be uh doing any of this
if it wasn't for you. The whole idea of
car wizard, my YouTube channel is
directly result of that that meeting we
had on on the internet.
>> How weird is it? It is a form. I mean,
you met your wife on the internet. I
know a little chat room. So, but I mean
for like
>> like if if you didn't go on if I beat
you to that car on Craigslist.
>> It would have never happened.
>> None of this would have happened.
>> That car was pinnacle.
>> That's that whatever wherever this 240D
is probably scrapped and just, you know,
10 cans by now. And
>> it's just it's weird the little things
that set off I mean changes the entire
course of your life so dramatically
because the same for me none of this
would have existed. None none of it with
me. So
>> anyway that's that's it. I mean the next
videos are going to be very very
different but very fun. Thank you so
much for watching.
