[00:01] Rockstar's parent company weighs in about GTA 6 going all digital. Meanwhile, plenty of people are still buying Nintendo games physically, and another major box office record. Let's get into it.
[00:25] in gaming is the move away from physical media. And while Sony is catching flak biggest games leading the all-digital charge is Grand Theft Auto 6. Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of Rockstar Games parent company Take-Two Interactive,
[00:38] decision, but he did explain the reasoning behind GTA 6 launching with no disc. During a Q&A with analysts, Zelnick stated, "Our business is well already a digital business. So, at certain instances, especially if it's a
[00:52] big game, discs just, and note I said discs, don't really make sense for the consumer. Also, most instances, you have to register online to play anyhow. So, if you download digitally? It's all the same, and it's much more convenient.
[01:04] opinion, and I think Sony understands that. We certainly understand that. It editions now and then. I'm sure we will, in the same way that there's still vinyl in the recorded music business. But, in other instances, it just won't make
[01:17] sense. So, maybe we'll get a physical version of GTA 6 on an actual disc at if it ever exists, into a console will still prompt you to download a massive while back that GTA 6 launching without physical versions was a deliberate
[01:31] Zelnick ruled that out, stressing that it's really just a matter of what makes meanwhile, is still committed to selling games on physical media. Though, there whether that means you're buying a box with a cartridge with a game on it, a

[01:57] 38.5% are still sold in a box. With that many customers sticking with physical keep up that side of the business, but this is a 2.2% dip compared to previous digital direction for them, too. Just maybe not so fast. IGN recently ran a
