# The Secret of Calmness (When Everything is Going Wrong)

> Source: [The Secret of Calmness (When Everything is Going Wrong)](https://youtube.com/watch?v=IQnd_A4O6gU)

## Summary

The video explores the concept of inner peace, arguing that external achievements and distractions do not provide lasting tranquility. It presents a framework called CSE (Surrender, Empty, Expand) to help viewers cultivate peace from within, supported by psychological studies and philosophical references.

### Key Points

- **The universal quest for peace** [00:02] — The video opens with a story about a boy disturbed by notifications and construction noise, illustrating how modern life disrupts peace. It states that every generation has sought peace, but today we seek it amidst notifications rather than in forests or exile.
- **Quiz: Are you at peace?** [03:46] — The presenter asks viewers to answer yes/no to questions about feeling relieved after work, relaxed on days off, etc. If all answers are yes, it suggests they are consuming temporary pauses (like movies or vacations) rather than experiencing permanent inner peace.
- **Money doesn't buy peace** [06:16] — Citing examples like Elon Musk and Kurt Cobain, the video argues that wealth and success do not guarantee inner peace. Forbes research shows half of the richest Americans are divorced, and celebrities like Michael Jackson struggled with sleep and depression despite fame.
- **The electric shock experiment** [09:21] — In 2014, Dr. Tim Wilson's study at University of Virginia found that 67% of men and 25% of women preferred to give themselves electric shocks rather than sit alone with their thoughts for 15 minutes, highlighting the difficulty of calming the mind.
- **Four reasons for lack of peace** [10:37] — The video identifies four reasons: 1) Stimulation era - constant distractions from smartphones and social media; 2) Work culture - stress from job insecurity and workload; 3) Brain evolution - our brains are wired for alertness from ancestral times; 4) Compounding of thoughts - suppressing thoughts makes them rebound (white bear effect).
- **The story of the child in the rain** [21:08] — A parable about a man searching for peace who finds it when he sees a child playing joyfully in a storm. The moral: real peace is not found in a quiet place but in a calm mind amidst a noisy world.
- **The CSE framework** [29:50] — The framework consists of: S - Surrender to the Present (be fully engaged in the current moment); E - Empty the Pressure (express and release suppressed emotions, e.g., through writing); E - Expand the Meaning (find meaning in small daily actions, not just big goals).

### Conclusion

The video concludes that peace is not a destination but a way of living. By surrendering to the present, releasing suppressed emotions, and finding meaning in everyday moments, one can experience peace regardless of external circumstances.

and stands up with irritation and says the same line that we all have said at one time or another. says the same line that we all have said at one time or another. This is not just a story of the possible. This is the story of every person who is
This is the story of every person who is see. Be it the era of Ramayana or the time of Gautam Buddha. Be it industrial or today's digital era. Every generation has sought only one thing: peace and tranquility. The
only difference earlier was that earlier people went to forests, gurukuls and exile to find peace. And today we are finding our peace amidst notifications. And perhaps that is why we try a new method every day. Be it meditation apps
or motivational videos, a morning routine or positive quotes. But even after doing everything, when we go to sleep at night, some voices keep running in our mind.
Friend, if everything is fine in my life then why does it feel like something is missing? why does it feel like something is missing? Why does every time I try to take a decision, it turns out to be wrong?
seem like it's just going on and on. , no shortcuts and no instant work techniques. But I'm going to
thousands of [music] participants in my workshops. And after using this framework, he says that he gets the kind of sleep that only a peaceful mind can get. The background noise in their lives gradually
And let me tell you this upfront that I will not try to comfort you until the end of this video. I will just introduce you to that peace. I will introduce you to what is probably already sitting inside you. Waiting for you to
sitting inside you. Waiting for you to recognize him. your peace. Why we are not able to live in a peaceful state and how can we make that peaceful state a
part of our life. How can we experience it? After that you will see life from a completely different angle. You will remain happy all the time and it wealth, be it relationships, be it your career. A peaceful state that will
transform your confusion into clarity. Your fear lies in confidence and your struggle lies fear lies in confidence and your struggle lies in growth. Greetings friends. My name is Him Ish Madan and for the last 15 years, all my video training programs, books,
podcasts have one purpose: to help you move forward. Whatever I learn and teach in corporates, I tell you all that through these videos [music]. And this is the purpose of today's video also. So let's start with the most important question of the video. Are
start with the most important question of the video. Are you at peace right now? Let's find out with this quiz. I will give some statements and you have to answer yes or no. If any of your work gets done, you will feel relieved. Yes or no.
If you suddenly get a few days off from work, will you feel relaxed? Yes or no. If you go to a restaurant once a week, watch a movie, or go out and enjoy yourself in any way, do you feel internally relaxed? Yes or
no? And if you get a nice trip in a few months, will you feel calm inside ? Yes or no. Now if you have thought the answer to all these four options is yes then congratulations. You are consuming something else in the name of peace.
Because surprisingly, whether it is a weekly movie or a cafe visit, a vacation or a good holiday. After all this, it never happens that you do not feel stressed, chaos or tired again. Meaning, all this actually does
not give you permanent inner peace but a temporary pause and it is not wrong. This is not a problem in temporary pause. Pause is necessary. But it is just like when a red signal is seen in traffic, the car stops but its engine remains on. Meaning,
due to these poses, stress starts becoming normal for us. Like it is normal to feel tired every day in the evening. It is a
normal to wait for that weekend to relax the whole week. But now remember my question once again. But now remember my question once again. how many breaks you take or whether your life is going well or not? What is the actual question
? The actual question is, are you happy every day before going to sleep? Are you satisfied with your day ? Is your mind internally calm and happy even amidst the problems and stress of life ? Do you feel peace and satisfaction from within about your relationships? Now if the
answer to these questions is no, then perhaps you have understood that we are far from inner peace. Now it friend, these are the problems of life good money, good lifestyle, successful life and no work stress, then
brother, we will definitely be at peace. When I started looking at real world data on all these things, the When I started looking at real world data on all these things, the my own belief about peace also changed. And this is where my
second question arises: why don't humans feel peaceful ? Eminem has a very popular phrase. Money doesn't buy happiness. It buys crazy as happiness. And definitely this is true. Money makes a lot of things right. By the way brother,
I have seen this thing. I don't chase money but I would advise everybody to love There is no doubt that after earning good money, you can get the house of your choice, the car of your choice , good status, respect in the society and everything
that makes you happy. But our question is, can a lot of money and status also give you peace? Majnu is everything given by God. There is wealth , there is city. In fact, if money really gave peace then Elon Musk would never have said this, 'It's so much
gave peace then Elon Musk would never have said this, 'It's so much
filed a petition in the court in 2018 that now she does went through heavy pain because of this. Elon married three times in his life but could not settle permanently with anyone and this is not just the case with Musk.
According to a research by Forbes, half of the top richest persons in the US are divorced. I mean, think about it, those who have so much money and all the luxuries are not happy in their relationship life. And not only this, but Kurt Cobain, the founder of Nirvana band,
everything was fine in his life. Fan following, good money, good family, everything. Still, he was battling depression and one night
that he was unable to find solace in his work. Michael Jackson himself, who reached the top of the world, used a drug called Propofol. Because without her he could not even sleep at night. In fact, that ultimately became the reason for his death.
Overall, there are thousands of examples which show that it does not matter how much bank balance you have. How much city do you have? What is your status? All this
cannot give you inner peace. Now the biggest question here is that in today's modern times, people can do whatever they want as per their wish. There is no restriction. Can achieve anything. is no restriction. Can achieve anything. Then why do they
yearn for peace? So let's put your imagination to work a little. Imagine you are made to sit in a completely empty, quiet room. No phone, no music, no screen. Just
you and your own thoughts. But you are not alone at all. There is one more thing with you. There is a button whose job is to give you an electric shock. If you press that button.
electric shock. If you press that button. Now logically who would want to shock themselves? When the option is to just sit quietly, why give yourself pleasure by pressing the button ? But when all this happened in real life, science's answer was completely different from logic.
In 2014, University of Virginia psychologist Dr. Tim D. Wilson and his team conducted the same experiment in the real world. In which he called 55 people as participants and explained the entire situation to them briefly. The
task was that they had to sit quietly in that room for 15 minutes. But the result was that within just 15 minutes, 67% of men and 25% of women ventrally
gave themselves electric shock. What is the reason? He could not sit alone with his own thoughts. He knew it would shock him, yet he felt it was better to do that than to sit quietly. But why? Why is this so? Why is it so difficult to calm one's
mind and keep it peaceful? same thing. 34th verse of chapter six: Arjun had asked, my mind is
very fickle. He is restless, powerful and stubborn. I can't control it. The same problem existed then also. So now when I researched this question about modern humans, I found four main reasons due to which we are not able to live in peace even if we want to. Of
course we will go towards the framework but when you are listening to these four regions and understanding them, you will feel that you have started getting clarity and on some regions you will feel as if you are looking at yourself from an outside perspective. You will be
able to go out of your body and see yourself. The first region is the stimulation era. The study I just talked about, where people could not calm themselves down even if they wanted to. In that entire research, when Dr. Timothy analyzed the overall results and came to the
final conclusion, he said that the biggest reason for not being able to sit quietly like this is biggest reason for not being able to sit quietly like this is today's heavy stimulation world. Meaning surrounding distractions. [MUSIC] But the thing to think about is when did this whole
experiment happen? In 2014 [music]. That means about 12-13 years ago. When neither social media was so booming nor was it the era of smart gadgets. But today, when 84% of the people globally have smartphones and 65% of them are already using social media,
then imagine what would be the result if this experiment is done again ? Where on an average every person checks his phone every 15 minutes. Some to find something to eat, some to order new stuff, some to book a ride,
some and most people to pass time and today we have literally become pass time and today we have literally become after AI, we are not even able to take our own decisions. Now think, if that experiment happens,
Now think, if that experiment happens, what will be the percentage of people who give themselves up to the hobby? And this is the reason why today 78% people believe that social media distracts and affects their lives. No doubt stimulation
is a big reason but apart from that [music] another reason due to which we do not get peace is commonly heard and that is work culture. Now it is not that people have just started working. Even 20-30 years ago, people used to work. Used to do
some work or the other. But he was much more relaxed compared to today. Two reasons are clearly understood in our work culture. First, 60 to 70% of the people are stressed because they do not have a job. Now if we look at the recent data,
in 2025 there were around 2400 seats in SSC exam and 29 lakh people had applied. And if we talk about Railway NTPC exam, there were 1.25 crore registrations for 11,000 vacancies. And if we talk about the corporate world, there is situation and
talk about the corporate world, there is situation and verse there. More than 60% of people do not feel peaceful due to their excessive workload, deadlines and insecurity. In fact, I share very interesting data from employees when they were asked whether they would
choose a high paying job or work life balance. So only 27% said high paying balance. So only 27% said high paying job. 83% chose the second option as work life balance. Now there is no doubt that to live a good life we need
good work, a good job. But the reason we are running after this with stress and we are running after this with stress and insecurities is not the fault of the people because the culture itself has become like this. The culture itself is supporting this thing.
sits free for some time, then according to people, he is wasting his time. If someone puts work aside and gives himself rest , just wants to relax without doing anything, then
technically he is called lazy, useless. If you sit quietly in front of people and have less inputs, you are considered less productive. Keep working all the time. I do , I am doing it while being sad and I keep working all the time while being sad.
Use social media in the remaining time and keep overthinking in the remaining time. These are all big reasons that if you are not giving rest to the world's most complex machine, then most complex machine, then
talking about the world's most advanced aesthetic machine , when we are talking about it, when we are talking about the brain, then let me tell you that the reason for not getting peace is not just external distractions or culture but also your own mind. The same question
that Arjuna asked Shri Krishna was why our mind does not allow us to be calm and the answer to this is linked to the structure of our mind. Third Region: Evolution of our brain. structure of our mind. Third Region: Evolution of our brain.
peace and tranquility meant safety. meant safety. Fear and worry about escaping from wild animals to survive. Now because of this, humans had to permanently keep their brains on alert mode. Had to be alert.
Even according to the data, among early humans, those who were more alert, more restless and more hyperaware had a better chance of survival. In fact, science has also said that it has affected our brain. This means that the part that
controls emotions has been trained for this purpose for thousands of years. Detecting the threat, keeping the body alert, being ready to react. In one line, one of the major emotions of our brain is alertness. Always stay active. Now this does
not mean that the problem is in our present brain. The problem is in our execution. What I said was that the problem is not in our brain. The problem is in our execution. Let me explain with an easy example. Imagine there is a
smoke detector installed in the house. What is his job ? His only job is to detect danger. Whenever you feel heat, become active immediately. When will the problem occur now? The problem will arise if the smoke detector starts ringing every time, even when you are making tea. There is
no fire anywhere yet the alarm is ringing. Nothing special happened, yet the alarm is ringing. Alarms are ringing over small things. Exactly this is the condition of our brain today. According to neuroscience, brain evolution is so slow that
our emotional brain has remained almost unchanged in the last 10,000 to 20,000 years. That's why the mind is still there. Only the surrounding has changed. And the result is that today
everything becomes quiet for some time. On silent work finished. If there is no demand, the On silent work finished. If there is no demand, the brain considers that silence as a bug. He thinks why am I not alert? Where is the movement? Why is no input coming
? That's why the brain creates something on its own. Random thoughts, some anxiety, some talk about the past, some worry about the future, some or the other thought bombards us. Or let's scroll something, grab the phone, scroll something. Why? Because what if this brain
needs something? Ca n't we calm our brain even if we want to? No. Nowadays, you can change and upgrade everything from your hair to your face as per your wish. So why can't we keep our brain peaceful in every situation
? We can train him too. We will go in that direction, we will come to the solution , we will come to the framework. But if we do not understand the fourth reason, then no matter how much you change the biology of the brain, no matter how much you change the surrounding situation or no matter
change the surrounding situation or no matter how much you change your work, you will not find peace. The fourth reason is compounding of thoughts. A lab scene. There is only one table in the room. A chair and a scientist in front. Scientists say that you should not think about a single thing for the next 5 minutes.
Volunteers ask what? Scientists call it white bear. The volunteer closes their eyes and at that very moment a white bear starts flashing through their mind.
I don't want to think about it. He doesn't want to think, but the more he tries to stop himself, the more the white beer becomes clear. This was psychologist Daniel Wegner's famous [music] white bear experiment. He published this study in 1987
where participants were asked not to think about white beer for 5 minutes. Try not to think of a white bear. And every time someone saw the white bear in their thoughts, they had to ring the bell. And the result was that on average, participants
average, participants rang the bell multiple times every minute. rang the bell multiple times every minute. Good [music]
think about white beer, those who had suppressed it earlier imagined that beer with greater frequency. This phenomenon was called Ironic Process Theory. Meaning, the more we push a thought, the more
it will rebound. This wasn't just a hot experiment. This was the blueprint of the human mind. Because the research did not stop here. A 1996 meta- analysis, which combined data from multiple studies, showed that thought suppression may
work in the short term. But in the long term, it increases those inner thoughts further. Meaning, if I explain it in simple language, when we try to forcefully remove a thought from our mind, then for a while we feel that yes, we have
won. But deep inside the mind keeps an eye on that thought and after some time the same thought comes close social media or ignore your biology, but the problems of life do not go
away and because of them white beers are generated. Someone's white bear could be some such breakup from the past. Someone may have a white beer when someone insults them. Someone's failure,
career failure, can make one jealous, jealousy does happen. We do not address it, we are ignoring it. But we are jealous from within or are not happy with ourselves but we are not addressing that thing. Somewhere or the other we try to run away from these things, not to
think, to move on, to say be positive or to become strong. But this can actually happen. It cannot happen. Because emotions are not deleted. They get postponed.
Now in such a situation, many people think that to find peace, I should start meditation. But they are released within three days. Why? Because as soon as they sit quietly, the pending data inside starts getting reloaded. Your brain starts
replaying those same emotions and thoughts. Because you have not trained your brain to sit idle. So how will you meditate? Of course you will get these answers in the last chapter. But before that, do you know completely about the thing that has brought you here
in the video and what you are looking for ? Do you really have no peace? What happens? What exactly is peace?
Many years ago, a common man would leave his busy life, full of work and noise and go in search of peace. To know what peace really is? Where can I get it ? And what is that thing or that work which, if done, will give internal peace?
He goes many miles away from his home. He meets many sages, gurus and saints. Reads many books. He gets a new and unique definition of peace from every person.
Someone tells him to find solace in meditation. So someone in the middle of nature. So some take him to the absolutely quiet mountains and some take him to a peacefully flowing river. But when he does not find peace even after searching everywhere, then he gets tired and
sits near a waterfall. Where many people come just for a walk. There the weather suddenly deteriorates and storms, lightning and heavy rain start occurring. Everyone runs here and there. He occurring. Everyone runs here and there. He also runs away. But suddenly he
also runs away. But suddenly he sees something that makes him leave everything and sees something that makes him leave everything and what happened? Couldn't you find peace? He replies yes I found it.
When everyone was running amidst that storm, rain and so much noise. Some were spreading their clothes and some were spreading their Some were spreading their clothes and some were spreading their belongings, but amidst all of them I saw a child far away. belongings, but amidst all of them I saw a child far away.
Instead of running away in such noisy rain, he was busy playing in it. Seeing him, I understood that real peace is Seeing him, I understood that real peace is not found in a quiet place but not found in a quiet place but in a calm mind in a noisy world. Listening again, real peace is
not found in a quiet place, but in a quiet mind in a noisy world. Now this entire story was fictional except for the two main characters. That child and that man wandering in search of peace. That
That child and that man wandering in search of peace. That person is you today. And that child is your version of 10-15 years ago, who may not have known the technical definition of peace, may not have known the technical definition of peace, but he knew very well how to feel peace.
If you remember your childhood for a minute, then think how much pain there was in it too. Father's scolding every moment, restrictions from family members, fear of some teacher or the other every day, homework after coming home from school, pressure for better marks, but
despite all this, there was neither overthinking in sleep nor any kind of stress or burden. Obviously, at that time we did not have as many responsibilities as we have today. But at that age if I compare it practically, if it rains today,
we will hide somewhere thinking about our phone, clothes and illness. And at that time, without thinking anything, we started playing in it. Now when something doesn't happen as per our wish, we get stressed and worried. At that time, when they did not get anything, they became more stubborn and said that now they had to have it at any cost.
Today, in the name of peace, we are going to parties, movies , vacations, mountains. At that time, we used to get that peace by sleeping with our head on mother's lap. It is the same thing that the thing which was always with you,
now you are searching for it everywhere in the outside world. Even Buddha himself said, Peace comes from within, do not seek it without. I mean, that piece, that feel is still with us. We can breathe that sigh of relief even today. Despite having all the cosiness in the world,
where is it within us? How will it get out? We don't know this. And this is will it get out? We don't know this. And this is our last question. How to find that inner mental peace ? How to find inner mental peace? Now if you go to Google to answer this question,
you will find many methods, many steps, many practices. Such as meditation, practices. Such as meditation, journaling, exercising, traveling. No doubt this is not wrong. But my point is that these are all tools. These are all ways to
reach peace. To reach that destination. So first that destination should be known about that destination. Where is that destination ? What is that destination? When I was planning this video, I thought I should ask this question to the people for whom I am
making the video. I mean from people. If I ask people, I asked the same question to my team member. So I asked everyone what would give you inner peace and that too not just
for today but for the whole life. So in the beginning, many people that if the money comes then there will be complete peace. Then I told him the same thing that we had discussed in the beginning that money is not equal to peace. So I asked the question and
clarified that if money is kept aside in this situation, then what will give you peace [music], inner peace. So I got said I would find peace with family [music]. If my family is always with me
and if they are all happy then I am at peace. The point is correct, who doesn't find happiness in the happiness of the family. One answer I got was that I will feel most at peace when everyone in my life loves me. Be it my family, relatives, friends
, partner or any random person. If someone comes to me, greets me with a smile loves me, then I feel at peace. No doubt, who wouldn't be happy with this? Now there are many more answers in the list, someone said that my friends are my peace.
I will remain at peace. There was also a very different answer that if I get free will then I will not have to run after anything. Do n't be in a hurry anywhere. I just want to be able to do what I love. I would find great peace in that kind of life. This
is also correct. If you are doing what you love. Then you will get peace. Someone only peace [music]. Absolutely correct. And someone said if I can be of use to others. I want to do charity. I want to open an NGO. I will find solace in that.
That is also correct. After hearing all these answers to [music], the biggest biggest question that came up was that the piece is different for everyone. And if that is the case, how can we find a way to find peace
? Actually, it is neither like this nor like that. Look, I asked this question to many people and all the answers you heard now had one thing common in all of them. Everyone had some benchmark, some target, some situation in their mind
which they had thought about for the future. If this happens, I will feel relieved. If this happens, I will feel relieved. If I find that, there will be peace. If this happens then that will happen. And here lies the secret that we cannot understand.
A very perfect quote from AJ Mast comes to mind here. There is no way to peace. Peace is the way. [Music] Even in this video I mentioned a shloka that Arjuna asked Shri Krishna. My mind is very fickle. He is restless, powerful and stubborn. I can't control it.
So now the answer given by Shri Krishna to this, i.e. in Chapter 6, Verse 35, means that our mind is fickle and it is difficult but it can be controlled with continuous practice and difficult but it can be controlled with continuous practice and detachment
and this is the thing in which we make mistakes. I do n't know how many of us spend our entire lives running in that crowd, hoping that this should happen, I should reach here, that should happen, and in the end, the biggest regret we have is that we had time but we could
not live it properly. Remember, when we were young, we used to look at the elders. I used to look at my elder brother and find solace in him that the day when he would be earning like this or would have a life of free will and would be able to stand on his own feet, that solace would come.
[Music] That's who you are today. And today, remembering our childhood days, we say, friend, there was peace completely remove the distractions of the world [music]. Neither can you overcome the biology of your brain so easily nor can you stop your thoughts from coming.
So what can you do? One thing you can do is be present in the things moving before your eyes. This is what happens when we go to a hill station and this is what happens when we are sitting with our favourite person and the same thing happens when we are doing
something which we are enjoying a lot, at that time we feel peaceful, we feel relaxed, the reason is because we are completely in that moment, at that time we are neither sitting with the fear of the future nor with the tension of the past, there
nor with the tension of the past, there is no way to peace, peace is the way, it is possible that many of you have understood this point here that where is peace. But if I want to simplify it further, then as always I will
started giving that framework to people in my workshops, they immediately started feeling the piece [of music] and later told me that after this framework, instead of getting confused, they started getting sorted out. Kept experiencing peace. His sleep started getting better. So I am
sure that if you have reached this far then you are ready with all your heart to understand this thing, to feel it, to know it, so get ready as I do. You will have to stand face down with both your hands on your neck.
How did you like my joke? So the framework is CSE. It's simple. S is surrender to the present. Surrender to the Present. There is an interesting study by Harvard psychologists Matthew and Daniel. In 2010, they conducted a study
In 2010, they conducted a study in which 2,250 adults received push notifications on their phones randomly throughout the day. With just one question, what are you doing right now? And are you actually thinking about that? The
actually thinking about that? The result was that 47% of the time people were thinking about something else rather than their work. Meaning it was either in the past or in the future. And people who had this pattern of mind wandering were
significantly less happy. Meaning a wandering mind is an unhappy mind. wandering mind is an unhappy mind. Wandering mind, sad mind. The point is to stay in the present. Living in the present means surrendering. Meaning, when you are eating, just eat, no
surrendering. Meaning, when you are eating, just eat, no phone, no reel, when you are talking to someone, just listen, get into the conversation, are you planning a reply or your attention is going somewhere else or you are thinking about your own thing, no, just listen, when you are doing any work,
just do it, keep the fear of the result aside temporarily and devote yourself to that work, this is the same thing saw in that story, playing in the rain without any care, without thinking about the future, without thinking about the past, being in the present itself is a
living peace. Of course awareness, meditation, trainings all these help you. But what is the purpose? Where does it deliver? Living in the present. Now let's come to E Where does it deliver? Living in the present. Now let's come to E Empty the Pressure. Remember that white beer
the more it will rebound. That much more the white bear will be visible. So the solution is not repression. It is an expression. The solution is not repression. Don't press. Expression is [music]. Have to take it out. Have to
empty it. There was a research by psychologist James at the University of Texas. They asked people to write about their deepest feelings and unresolved emotions for just 15-20 minutes daily. their deepest feelings and unresolved emotions for just 15-20 minutes daily.
failure or any old pressure that he was carrying in his mind. Only after 3 days [MUSIC], after 3 days. It was observed that his immune function started improving. His stress markers, meaning stress, started reducing.
Overall, his physical and mental health improved only when he started releasing. We understood in Thought Compounding how our peace gets disturbed. And here the point is that whatever is filled inside will have to be taken out.
If we suppress it, it becomes white beer. But when we release it, we experience freedom. Again, if you feel these kinds of emotions, unresolved emotions that are suppressed within you, then there can be many ways to
I suggest and get done in my workshops is to write. Grab a paper and write down whatever comes to your mind regarding that thing without judging yourself. Write. Write down is disturbing me? Why don't I feel peace ? If there is any unresolved emotion or
expression, write it down. Now after writing, see whether it is real or imagined. It's true that my mind is just making up stories, is there any fear, is there something? And ask yourself one more question at the same time. Can I do something about this?
If I can, what is the small action I need to take? Release it. I will take action. And if I can't do it then what's the point of even thinking about it ? I will have to leave this. I have to do Amputee [Music]. And E is Expand the Meaning. This is the biggest shift.
Remember when I asked the question to my team members. So everyone had kept the definition of peace in the future. On getting something, on meeting a person, on meeting a situation. But people who are actually at peace have
a different pattern. This is a very powerful book by Viktor Frankl. He was a survivor of the Nazi concentration camps and is a world-renowned psychiatrist. He wrote his book Man's Search for Meaning. It was written in it that the people who survived the camps were
not those who had better food or more strength. He was the one who had a or more strength. He was the one who had a region. There was a meaning. So expand your meaning means identifying the things in your daily life that
matter to you right now, at this very moment. I am not talking about big goals here. There is no problem with big goals. Keep it, it should be there. You should grow yourself every day. Efforts should be made. But peace should not be linked to these. Peace lies
in the small actions of every day. Peace lies in the lessons of each day. It is finding meaning in small things, what I am trying to say is that even that cup of tea that you enjoy, which you somehow manage to take out time to drink in the morning. Are you
actually in that moment at that time? Whether it's the person you're talking to at night, or your parents you're sitting with, you're present. You are taking the meaning inside it. Do you know why you are doing the work that you do?
You have a meaning behind it. When you are not just passing your life, it is not that you are just doing it, the activity is going on, the day is passing by and you don't realize it, then life is passing by, but you start living your life when you attach your meaning to the work that you are doing,
why am I doing it, I like this thing, I like this tea, I like this family time, when you have a reason and a meaning behind the small things of your daily life, the things that you like, the things that you are doing, then you do
not need any condition for peace that when this happens then there will be peace. You are already living the peace. Peace is not a destination for you. Peace is a part of your life. There is no way
to peace. Peace is the way. Peace is the way when you surrender to the present. Peace is the way. When you keep taking out whatever is inside. Peace is the way when everything you do, you know why you are doing it.
You have meaning behind that. I hope, like every effort of mine, this video too will help you to move forward in your life.
