[0:04] middle and at the end of your videos
[0:06] once you get 4,000 hours of watch time
[0:08] and 1,000 subscribers then you can join
[0:10] What's called the YouTube Partner
[0:12] program then YouTube will pay you a cut
[0:14] of the revenue and that's what we're
[0:15] going to be talking about in this video
[0:17] how much you actually make now I
[0:19] personally run a ton of different
[0:20] YouTube channels and I did some research
[0:22] into both my own channels and other
[0:24] people who've uploaded videos talking
[0:26] about how much money they make per
[0:27] thousand views and the answer is that
[0:29] channels make between $1 and $30 per
[0:32] th000 views so the average Channel based
[0:34] on my research makes
[0:36] $115.50 per th000 views but with that
[0:38] being said most channels from my
[0:40] personal experience only get around $5
[0:42] to $10 per thousand views that you make
[0:44] now in order to make more money per
[0:46] th000 views you can do a couple things
[0:48] first of all you can create a channel
[0:49] and what's called a high RPM Niche now
[0:52] RPM is how much you actually make per
[0:54] thousand views and depending on the
[0:55] niche that you're in some advertisers
[0:57] pay more money to put ads on videos than
[1:00] others for example apple is one of the
[1:02] top advertisers on YouTube and they're
[1:04] likely going to be putting their ads on
[1:05] technology videos and Expedia is another
[1:08] one of the top advertisers and they're
[1:09] likely going to be putting their ads on
[1:10] travel videos now here's a list of some
[1:12] of the highest CPM niches so feel free
[1:14] to pause this and screenshot if you want
[1:16] they include Finance make money online
[1:18] technology Health investing travel legal
[1:22] Insurance makeup marketing real estate
[1:25] Cars movies and DIY and tutorials but
[1:28] with that being said some channels in
[1:30] lower CPM niches can get more overall
[1:32] views some examples of low RPM niches
[1:35] include pranks scary videos gaming
[1:38] videos depending on the game that you're
[1:39] playing and general top 10 videos
[1:42] another way to make more money per th000
[1:44] views is to create videos longer than 8
[1:46] minutes then you can go to your YouTube
[1:48] Studio then go to content and then go
[1:50] down here and select any of your videos
[1:52] once you're monetized go down here to
[1:54] the monetization tab and then from here
[1:57] you can add multiple different ad breaks
[1:59] if you click manage mid rolls right here
[2:01] and you can put multiple different ad
[2:03] breaks throughout your video as you can
[2:05] see in this video right here since it's
[2:06] longer than 8 minutes we have 1 2 3 four
[2:09] ad breaks instead of just one if the
[2:11] video was shorter than 8 minutes and I
[2:13] recommend spacing out your ad breaks at
[2:14] least every couple minutes so it doesn't
[2:16] interrupt the viewing experience too
[2:18] much with that being said don't just
[2:19] make videos for the sake of them being
[2:21] long so you can put multiple ad braks
[2:23] because there's a trade-off if you make
[2:24] long videos without actually providing
[2:26] value so if you make a longer video make
[2:28] sure to only make it longer by providing
[2:30] in more value to the end viewer and
[2:31] remember value can be either educational
[2:33] or entertainment value and keep in mind
[2:35] videos at every length can go viral now
[2:37] I'm going to let you in on a little
[2:39] secret and that secret is that this
[2:41] channel that you're watching right now
[2:42] makes over
[2:44] $200 per th000 views now you might be
[2:46] saying Matt how in the world is that
[2:48] possible if channels typically only
[2:49] range from $1 to $30 per th000 views and
[2:52] let me let you in on a secret this is by
[2:54] selling a digital product with my
[2:56] channel which is my YouTube course tube
[2:58] Mastery and monetization and we we
[2:59] average around $100,000 per month with
[3:02] this channel whereas ad Revenue only
[3:04] brings in like $6 to 12,000 per month

[3:13] that you could potentially use to make

[3:20] how much YouTube channels could be
[3:21] earning this channel right here called
[3:23] chills uploads videos within the scary
[3:25] Niche and I'm using an extension called
[3:27] vid IQ to see how many views per month
[3:29] that they get so if I click this they're
[3:30] getting 6.5 million views per month now
[3:33] if we copy this number and open up a
[3:35] calculator I'll show you exactly how to
[3:37] do the math on this you take the number
[3:38] of views per month they're getting
[3:39] divide it by a th000 and this will show
[3:42] you how many thousands of views per
[3:43] month they're getting and then we
[3:44] multiply this by their likely RPM and in
[3:48] my opinion their RPM is probably $2 to
[3:50] $3 per th000 views so let's say $3 per
[3:53] th000 views since this is a little bit
[3:54] of a low CPM Niche this channel would be
[3:56] making about $20,000 per month and this
[3:59] channel called new money uploads videos
[4:01] in the investing Niche and related to
[4:03] finance and if we see how many views per
[4:04] month they're getting they're getting
[4:05] 1.9 million if we do that same exact
[4:08] calculation where we take this divide by
[4:09] a th000 and then multiply by their CPM
[4:12] which I would estimate to be around $ 20
[4:13] to $30 per th000 views since investing
[4:16] make money online and finance is a
[4:18] really high CPM Niche let's say $20 per
[4:20] th000 views that means this channel
[4:22] would be making
[4:24] $309,000 per month and that's just from
[4:26] ad Revenue not counting if they sold a
[4:28] digital product so as you can see this
[4:30] channel could be making more money per
[4:31] month than that first channel we looked
[4:33] at even though it's getting less views
[4:35] this channel Tech Zone uploads
[4:37] technology videos and the channel pulls
[4:39] in 46 million views per month and if we
[4:42] do the same exact calculation but this
[4:43] time putting in an RPM of say $10 per
[4:46] th000 views that means this channel
[4:48] would be making almost half a million
[4:50] dollars per month which is crazy and in
[4:52] this video I used RPM and CPM kind of
[4:54] interchangeably but RPM is how much you
[4:57] actually make per th000 views and when I
[4:59] say CPM I really mean RPM check out this
