# Camera Confidence Masterclass: Beat the Fear

> Source: [Camera Confidence Masterclass: Beat the Fear](https://youtube.com/watch?v=NX99TrvX9nY)

## Summary

This video is a motivational and practical guide aimed at helping aspiring content creators overcome the fear of being on camera. The speaker shares personal experiences and provides actionable advice on building confidence, improving delivery, and preparing effectively for video recording, all framed within a faith-based perspective.

### Key Points

- **The Universal Fear of the Camera** [00:02] — Many talented creators are unable to make videos due to fear of the camera, experiencing symptoms like an empty mind, dry throat, and fast heartbeat. This fear is common and not a sign of incapability.
- **Confidence is a Skill, Not a Talent** [01:19] — Confidence is not an innate talent but a skill that can be learned, similar to riding a bicycle. Successful YouTubers also experienced fear in their first videos but continued by pressing the record button.
- **The Algorithm's First 20 Seconds** [01:45] — YouTube's algorithm favors videos where viewers stay for the first 10-20 seconds, increasing the chance of virality by 70%. Appearance, voice, and body language in the first few seconds determine if a viewer stays or leaves.
- **Fear is a Mind Game** [02:26] — The fear of the camera is actually the fear of internal questions like 'What will people think?' or 'What if I get stuck?'. This is a mental game, and almost 90% of new creators experience this fear initially.
- **Action Before Confidence** [04:26] — Do not wait to gain confidence before making a video. Instead, make the video first, and confidence will increase with each recording. The world does not think about you as much as you think they do.
- **Prepare Like a Guest** [04:38] — Before coming in front of the camera, dress up well, clean your table, and groom yourself. This boosts your confidence and makes you feel good about your appearance, which translates to a better video.
- **Master Your Topic** [05:43] — Having complete knowledge of your topic is crucial. A memorized script without understanding leads to fear and lack of confidence. Mastery over the subject allows words to come from the heart, enabling confident delivery.
- **Body Language and Tone Matter More Than Script** [06:52] — Viewers note three things: body language, tone, and words. Many new creators focus only on the script, but body language and speaking style constitute 90% of the video's impact. Avoid rote learning and speak naturally.
- **Speak from the Chest, Not the Throat** [08:11] — People listen to your words, not your voice. Speak from the chest to produce a heavier, more confident voice. Avoid speaking quickly; speak intermittently and with a balanced pace, using pauses for emphasis.
- **Look at the Camera, Not the Screen** [09:36] — A common mistake is looking at the screen instead of the camera lens. Always look directly into the camera to connect with your audience. Use the back camera on your phone to avoid this issue.
- **Practice and Compare** [10:27] — Make 10-15 videos and compare your first with your last to see improvement. If you don't want to upload, record them on your phone and watch them later. This practice helps build confidence and identify areas for growth.
- **Spiritual Preparation** [11:20] — Recite a specific dua (prayer) before recording, asking for an open chest, ease in work, and fluency of speech. This prayer is said to make speaking easier and ensure the journey proceeds on truth.
- **Practical Tips for Recording** [12:32] — Take a deep breath before starting to normalize your heartbeat. If you get stuck, don't turn off the camera; continue and edit out the mistakes later. Keep a slight smile on your face to appear natural.
- **Self-Review and Learning from Others** [13:41] — Practice speaking in front of a mirror and record your voice to analyze your delivery. Watch other creators, like Adil Shahid's channel 'Bolchaal', at normal speed to learn tone and style. Consistent practice for 21 days will show significant improvement.
- **Pre-Recording Checklist** [14:33] — Before recording, do a 1-minute test video to check the mic, camera angle, body language, table setup, and colors. This prevents issues like forgetting to turn on the mic, which can ruin a recording session.

### Conclusion

Overcoming camera fear is a gradual process that involves understanding that confidence is a skill, preparing thoroughly, and practicing consistently. By combining practical techniques with spiritual preparation, creators can build confidence and enjoy the video-making process.

## Transcript

you have a great story, talent, and a lot to say. But as soon as this camera is on, everything is washed away. The mind becomes empty, the throat becomes dry and the heartbeat becomes unnecessarily fast.
This is the thing, the fear behind which the stories of thousands of talented creators remain stories of thousands of talented creators remain trapped. Even today, countless of you are unable to make videos due to fear of the camera and some people
leave it after making a few videos thinking that no friend, this is beyond my capacity. So this thinking is absolutely wrong. After watching today's session, the fear of the camera will go away, Insha Allah. How to come in front of the camera with confidence , how to talk, how to
start the video, what all things do you have to do before coming in front of the camera ? During recording, you have to know what to do, what not to do and how to talk in such a way that the other person feels what you are saying. He should feel that this is happening to him.
So don't miss even a single part of this session. watch the videos of many YouTubers and think that I wish I could speak like him. I could have
talked like this, could have made people understand like this. But believe me, every creator's voice shook in their first video. He was brainwashed. His throat felt happy. His heart beat also increased. But the only difference is that every successful YouTuber of today kept speaking by pressing the
recording button of his camera at that time. Whatever he knew how to say, and many of you still have n't been able to click that button. So the first thing you have to note here is that confidence is not a talent. It's a skill
you can learn just like you learn to ride a bicycle or a car, and science bears witness to this. So, in the video you are making, your appearance, your voice, the language of your body, all this decides within the first few seconds whether the
viewer will stay on your video or skip it. The science of YouTube's algorithm is that if someone stops for the first 10-15-20 seconds on your video, then YouTube itself says that the chances of your video going viral increase by 70%. So let me teach you how to play
this game. Before that, watch this video of when I started my content journey. After this, make 10-15 videos, watch them and after creating good content, watch the videos that start getting made. There is a difference between the three
which you must have felt very well. [Music] So first of all, you should clear this misconception that this fear is not just yours. When I started working initially, I also started trembling. My throat also felt happy. I
also shot the same video 10 times again but I did not stop. So this is not fear. This is a big misunderstanding on your part. Because you are not alone in this. Almost 90% of new creators are like this in the beginning. And this fear that you have inside you is
not the fear of the camera. This is the fear of those questions that keep echoing in your mind that people might laugh, that I might get stuck. People should not make bad comments. What will my acquaintances think? All these questions echo in your mind like fear due to which you are
unable to face the camera. That is why when you come in front of the camera, even if you have memorized two-four lines, they also go away. Your heart beats faster for no reason and believe me, your hands often start shaking and you are unable to even make eye contact with the camera.
So believe me, all this is normal in the beginning. There is believe me, this thing has been inside me not for a day or a month but for the first six or seven months.
Rest, getting stuck and forgetting the sentence, this is happening even today. Do you think all the sessions that have been made have been made just like that? The 10-15 minute session you watch comes from a two-three hour video. Yes. The 10-15
minutes of content that comes out is made up of sentences that have been repeated many times. thing in mind that I am going to talk about, then believe me, half of your fear will go away. So the reality is that the world does n't think about you as much as you
think about the world and what they think about you. You must have also heard the phrase that what will people say about the biggest disease in the world ? Who has the time? Every person is a victim of his own problems. He has his own motives , his own goals and your initial
videos may be watched by only a few people. Forget it after two-four days because you are not that well known. You are not famous but you can become famous. But if you do not start making the pond then you will never become famous. So remove the fear of the world from your heart.
This fear that you feel about being in front of the camera is not your own fear. This is all a mind game. Those questions that are echoing in your mind. What you think about you. All this mentality leads you to a fear.
Secondly, remove this thought from your mind that first I will gain confidence and then I will make the video. Make a video first. Confidence will continue to increase. When
what do you do before going? They dress up well and comb their hair well. So you have to do the same thing before coming in front of the camera. Hey, do not just sitting in front of a camera. Inshallah, when this video of yours reaches the first 10 people,
20 people, 100,000, lakhs of people, you will be talking to them and not to the camera. Now why did I talk about getting dressed up ? When you come in front of the camera all dressed up, one sentence comes out of your mouth , wow, how I look.
So this thing boosts your confidence level and you can give this confidence to yourself free of cost before sitting in front of the camera with closed hair. And believe me, this dressing up before coming in front of the camera is very important because Insha Allah,
when you buy a good camera, every single thing is clearly visible inside those cameras. Clean your table. Wear good clothes. If you come well groomed with your face and hair etc. then all this matters come well groomed with your face and hair etc. then all this matters
thing you have to remember is that if the lighting and paint etc. of your room is in dark color then you should sit wearing light colored clothes. If the environment is light then you should sit wearing dark colored clothes. This makes you very visible as an object in the video
and the viewer is able to make contact with you. [Music] explain by giving the example of two people. The first one is the person who read some news at night,
saw some update, wrote a script about it and memorized it. So when that person comes in front of the camera, he will not be able to talk with confidence because he does not have much knowledge about that thing and he lacks words. It is a memorized script due to which you will
feel scared inside. Will not be able to face the camera properly. So due to this incomplete knowledge, he will not have that confidence in his video and secondly, he will make the entire video with fear. Now, when the other guy here starts making the video, he has mastery over the
topic he has chosen before making the video. He has a good knowledge about it. So, words come from the heart. The camera's eye meets the eye. The person speaks with confidence
and this knowledge, this ilm is something that cannot be copied. is earned from. So if you want to get rid of the fear of camera, then whatever you are going to say in front of the camera, you should have complete knowledge about it. One should come fully prepared.
watches it, his mind notes three things. Your body language, your tone and your words. Many new creators put all their emphasis on the script while forgetting body language and speaking style,
which constitute 90% of your video. The result is that you read the script by rote and neither speak it properly nor in a proper manner, then the viewer says that the thing is right but I did not enjoy it. This was my situation in the beginning. There was a
lot to say but his style was dull and he hesitated in front of the camera for a long time. So whenever you have to come in front of the camera, do not just come by rote learning. The way of speaking , the way of talking, the tone like how are you? How are you, friend?
How are you? The meaning is the same in all three sentences but the style is different, hence these things have an impact on the next one. And one more thing about your body language matters a lot. Do one more thing about your body language matters a lot. Do
so that the person in front of you gets respect and feels that the person has not come in a casual manner but has come with proper manner and style. And whatever you are saying, bring happiness on your face while talking about happy things. They should feel the problem. If you feel threatened by something dangerous, then keep
They should feel the problem. If you feel threatened by something dangerous, then keep So whatever you are saying, your face should be supporting those words. But remember one thing here that you should not act. Whatever needs to be done should be happening naturally.
Whatever needs to be done should be happening naturally. they think their voice isn't good. So take note well that people do not listen to your voice. They listen to your words. So whatever words you have to utter, do
not speak them through your nose, do not speak them through your throat, but say them from your chest. Right now, whatever videos you have seen, I have sound will be like this. But as I am talking, it is coming from the chest. This
brings a growl to your voice. The voice is heavy. So when you talk actively instead of lazily, you will enjoy talking and the other person will enjoy listening to you. Secondly, whenever you speak, do not speak quickly. Speak intermittently.
Pronounce the words slowly. During the video, it should never become too fast or too slow. Keep speaking with a balanced voice. And a hidden trick is that And a hidden trick is that whenever such words come, that is,
give a slight pause here. These breaks will give you more confidence in talking and you will also enjoy listening to the other person. The second is to avoid the same tone. Do n't speak in the same tone like a robot. Where there is enthusiasm, speak with enthusiasm; where there is seriousness, speak
with seriousness; and where there is pause, speak with pause. So all these things together will create the magic of your voice which will bring confidence in you and the listener will bring confidence in you and the listener will also be able to relate to you. The
they start their first video is that they are looking at the screen instead of the camera while making the video. So you should not make a video by looking at the screen. So what I am saying also means that if you are
shooting a video from your mobile then shoot it from the back camera. Firstly, the video will be good and you will get relief from the screen problem. And whatever you have to say, you have to say it in front of the camera. If you are using this LR camera then do
by looking at the screen you are talking but you are not able to connect with the person sitting there. You are but you are not able to connect with the person sitting there. You are So whatever you have to say, you have to do it by looking at the camera and not at the screen
and this confidence will come gradually. Make the first video, make the second, make the third, keep making them. When you have done 10-1 videos, compare your first video with your last video. You will feel the difference. You
can use this formula even if you don't want to upload videos. in your phone. Then watch that first video and the last video. You will definitely feel the difference. And when you feel that yes, you have gained good confidence from here to here. If the
then start your journey from here. Delete these nine videos. Understand that this was your practice. And also remember that you are not talking while looking into the camera lens, rather this lens is a curtain
behind which, Insha Allah, your audience of millions is waiting for you. Who will hear and see you from behind this camera in the coming days. [Music]
Prayers, water and peace. Many people must have understood. And this is the formula through which you will not be afraid at all of coming in front of your camera. Your confidence level will go up to this level and you cannot even imagine the fun you will have in making videos and talking.
So the first thing you need to do before you sit in front of the camera is You can cut those things. Second thing, before speaking in front of the camera, you are Kalam. With the praise of Allah Taala, recite this dua every time
before making a video, the translation of which is O my Lord, open my chest for me. Make my work easy for me. Open the knot of my tongue so that people can understand what I say. In this prayer you have asked for everything that a creator needs.
You asked for the expanse of the chest. He asked for freedom in panic. Ease of work and fluency of speech were also included in this prayer. So when you start by reciting this dua, two miracles will happen. Speaking will become surprisingly easy and words will start flowing automatically and
what is more than this, no lie will come out of your tongue because the journey which you are starting with the devotion of Allah Taala by speaking Ham Kalam, then this journey, Insha Allah, will proceed on truth only, from this you will get only benefits, you will get confidence in front of the camera, there will be fluency
in words, risk will be halal and you will see yourself growing, Insha Allah. note down some tips here, your fear of camera will go away and you will also enjoy working, so take a long deep breath before coming in front of the camera. Whatever tensions you have left, leave them aside for some time.
Remove it from your mind, forget it. All these activities will normalize the heartbeat and your body will get the message that there is no problem. You often get stuck while speaking. No issue. Get stuck as many times as you want. Do not turn off the camera. Do not turn off the audio.
Let that video play. Where your cuts are coming from. Those things will get cut in editing. It should not happen that you say something wrong, turn off the camera again, turn it on again and then speak again. You will not be able to work like this. Let only one video play. Even if there are
100 cuts in it, it is not a problem. Believe me, even today there are hundreds of cuts in the videos of this fellow dancer. And whenever you sit in front of the camera, a slight smile should always be on your face. It should not happen that even if you are talking about happiness very seriously,
it all seems artificial. So this is the complete training through which you When you apply all these things to yourself, then that person will say Assalamu Alaikum. in such a way that the viewer
But if you are at the level right now to n't be afraid, don't panic. Say Bismillah, let's start. This fear is a matter of a few days and will end. Have you ever stood in front of a mirror?
talk to your. Watch how you speak. How is your speaking style? How is your body language? Sometimes record your voice and listen to it. Feel the delivery of the voices. Where is there a need to improve? And here I would like to mention one guy.
My brother like friend Adil Shahid has his channel Bolchaal, visit it my throat got sore too, so go to Adil Bhai 's channel, open two, four, five, ten of his videos, watch his videos in normal speed, not in fast forward,
his videos in normal speed, not in fast forward, one forgets the things and is feeling his tone, so just try to inculcate these things in yourself and believe me, if you do all this work for three weeks i.e. for
21 days, then in 21 days you will feel a huge difference between the person you were on the first day and the person you are on the 21st day first day and the person you are on the 21st day which is very important that whenever you have to sit in front of the camera, you have to
record a 1 minute video once, in the beginning you have to check whether your mic is working properly or not, your angle in the camera, your body language, your table, whether everything is clear or not, how are the colours coming, you have to look at all these things, whether you Whether you record a 10 second
minute video, after watching it you have to because this happens not only with me but with many creators that they complete the video. They forget to turn on the mic.
Sometimes some things are left lying on the table. Some wire remains. Some you can clear later in editing. But then that feeling does not come. And secondly, if you have recorded the entire video and the mic was not on, then when you record that video again,
you will not be able to capture these expressions. Because if the person gets irritated and angry then that kind of video cannot be made again. So that's why you have to prepare everything and sit without any worries. If you pray to Allah, drink water and sit down, then
Insha Allah, confidence will definitely come. So this was our session today. How did you like this session? Be sure to tell us in the comments what you learned from this video. Write all the points because it is possible that what you have written may motivate other people
