[00:08] This time bringing you the highlights for patch 2.5 for Cyberpunk 2077, which if I'm not mistaken is like the third final update this game has received, which is as good a time as any to mention my own personal fifth annual [00:21] farewell tour starting next month. But jokes aside, uh this update is meant to coincide with the release of season 2 for Edgerunners. and it brought with it a surprising number of changes. Now, in terms of like actual new content to [00:34] quests with the rest of it honestly features, things that I wish would have been there from the very beginning in going to talk about. Now, before we dive fully in, an important note is that I am [00:48] actually bringing you this video a bit before the patch itself goes live. It should be going live a little bit later today, and that is possible because of two things. Uh, for starters, CDPR did put up the official patch notes [01:00] yesterday, the time before you are seeing this video, so I was able to go done that, I'd still be able to bring you this video because CDPR did actually uh send me alongside many other creators the patch notes ahead of time, which I [01:15] actually got leaked. And so, in that sense, this might not actually be the first time you're hearing about this, even if you missed their official uh update and everything yesterday about the patch. But in any event, uh this was [01:27] ultimately just easier for me to put out today the day the patch is going live. But to that end, I'm going to be talking about some cosmetic rewards and some customization options as they did add a handful of them, but they will not be on [01:40] screen. And so feel free to just listen for the most part if you want to as many of these changes are simply not visual in nature. But with that out of the way, let's get on with it. As far as the edge runners content specifically goes, they [01:53] will be adding a new side quest, clampdown, which [clears throat] connects to the events in the show. And then they are going to be adding a new gear set based on the character King, which is your reward for completing that [02:05] quest. And on top of that, they are adding a new radio station, which will actually feature the music from the show. Speaking of cosmetic rewards, however, there's a lot of them just being added to the game in general. [02:17] There will be five brand new clothing collections arriving in the city. Uh, purchased in various places. They are adding hairstyles that were previously exclusive to specific NPCs to be available for you to choose from, though [02:30] something I thought was really cool is they're actually going to let you customize your hand cyberware. So things like mantis blades and gorilla arms, all that stuff. There will be a new NPC that you can go to to apply visual changes [02:43] this, which I thought was neat. And while not exactly cosmetic, just a really cool update as well. Uh they're adding a new perk to the cool tree, but it's going to allow you to dual wield pistols and revolvers from the [02:58] you'll be able to actually play the game in a new way if that's something you want to do. And they also expanded some photo mode options as well. But believe it or not, we are still not done because in I would say pretty big news actually, [03:11] they are adding cross-platform mod support. This is going to be powered by mod.io and will be available on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox Series X and S, and the Nintendo Switch 2. Being a primarily PC channel, modding [03:27] has never been particularly inaccessible for me, so not exactly huge news to me, enjoy them. But we also do have a little bit of content for the base world in terms of like quests and stuff. They are adding a new quest called Welcome to [03:40] Paradise, which is a side quest that will basically take you on a guided tour of the city narrated by Richard Knight himself. Though, you will have to get past the opening uh act of the game and then reach level 15 street cred for it [03:53] to unlock. And they mention there's a mystery at the heart of it. On top of that, they uh expanded the quest Fool on the Hill, the one where you go around that are hidden in places. that they're adding 12 new ones and you'll get an [04:06] extra reward for collecting the new ones. And then most everything else is like little quality of life stuff. That is definitely important, but not exactly huge game changers as far as content go. But I am going to start with my favorite [04:19] of all of these, which is actually that they adjusted how save games are presented. So when you go to load game in the menu, it will now separate out playthroughs or your different characters. And that is something I [04:32] games. I've actually mentioned this in a video or two before, uh, both parts actually, that I maintain a save file archive of all of my games played, as well as it being a pet peeve when this feature is not here. And that is because [04:45] it makes them difficult to sort through. When they are all grouped up in a list, down exactly what save you are looking for, just like from the menu even. And so having them organized and grouped up this way by default is incredibly [04:59] helpful in a very specific way for people like myself. But again, this would have been more useful when I was playing it more actively. However, that's not all. Uh they did add some item filters to apartment and vehicle [05:11] stashes. They have marked save files with a modded uh tag so you can actually this drops, which is helpful to know if you can like earn achievements and stuff and you know whether or not the save will load. They added an FOV slider on [05:24] consoles in particular, though they also changed up their uh available like upscaling options. In particular, FSR3 is no longer available, but they added support for DLSS 4.5. So, something to know, I suppose. Added support for some [05:38] specific 3D monitors alongside even improving HDR a little bit. Now, basically, everything else is slightly more minor stuff. Uh, they fixed an issue on Nintendo Switch 2 that could lead to a save game error alongside a [05:53] handful of other bugs and some localization issues. But all in all, I would say that is a pretty good look at what patch 2.5 has for you, which is certainly a nice little surprise update. So, like I said, the save game thing is [06:08] the biggest thing here for me personally, though I imagine overall the crossplatform mod support will likely be the biggest thing for everybody, and I am excited to see what people wind up doing with that, as I think easily [06:20] accessible mods on basically every platform are always something that can extend the lifetime of a game by a great deal. And given how much work they put into extending the life of Cyberpunk 2077, I can definitely see why they [06:34] would want to do that. But mostly just cool to see them continue to update this game. Though maybe this update will actually be the final update this time they have legitimately said that like I think three times at this point. So [06:47] guess. Either way though, that is pretty much everything this video has got for you. So certainly hope you enjoyed it. If you did, by all means like, comment, subscribe, all that YouTube jazz if you wind up checking this out for yourself [07:00] think of it. But regardless of any of that, truly just thank you so much for watching. I really do appreciate it. May you wander in wisdom and have an amazing you wander in wisdom and have an amazing day.
