# How to Find New Crypto Coins Early (Before They Pump)

> Source: [How to Find New Crypto Coins Early (Before They Pump)](https://youtube.com/watch?v=TgBSpTOoEkM)

## Summary

In this video, the creator explains how to find new crypto coins before they pump by using Reddit. The core idea is to stop relying on popular or trending posts and instead sort by New to spot early discussions, while still doing your own research.

### Key Points

- **Reddit as a Crypto Research Platform** [00:02] — Reddit exposes you to diverse opinions and news about cryptocurrencies, but there are pitfalls: coins like Shiba Inu and Solana are rarely mentioned until after they explode.
- **The Upvote Trap** [00:50] — Your exposure on Reddit depends on upvotes. Coins with more investors get more upvotes, so the coins you repeatedly see already have large numbers of holders — meaning the biggest returns are usually gone.
- **Popular Posts Sabotage Early Entries** [01:33] — A post about a future 100x coin (e.g., Solana in 2020) would never make it to the popular section before it exploded. Relying on popular posts means you miss the early entry.
- **The Fix: Sort by New** [02:00] — The simple solution is to sort Reddit posts by New instead of Hot or Top. This surfaces fresh information that has potential but hasn't yet gone viral.
- **Expect Noise on the New Page** [02:16] — You will see a lot of low-quality content on the New page; that's why people default to Hot or Top. But if something has already made it to the hot page, you've already missed the trade.
- **New Posts Are Leads, Not Signals** [02:45] — Treat posts on the New page as leads. You still need to do your own research and due diligence before investing.
- **Check Daily to Spot Patterns** [02:59] — Scanning the New page frequently — at least daily — helps you spot patterns and significantly increases your chances of getting in early compared with scanning popular posts.
- **Apply the Strategy to All Platforms** [03:29] — The same approach works everywhere. Constantly ask yourself: 'Am I using this platform or is it using me?' If you only consume popular posts, the platform is pushing its agenda and serving high-engagement content for ad revenue.

### Conclusion

Finding early crypto opportunities isn't about chasing what's already hot; it's about filtering the noise on the New page, doing your own research, and staying consistent — while remembering who controls your feed.

## Transcript

this quick video and talk about how you can find new coins before they pump by using reddit so reddit is a great platform to expose
yourself to you know different opinions and news about cryptocurrencies but there are some pitfalls that you need to avoid um you know usually many people on reddit complain about how
coins like shiba or solana are never mentioned until after they explode right once they explode there are tons of popular posts about it but there is nothing before they explode
you need to understand is you know what's happening is entirely you know if you think about it your exposure to posts on
reddit is a result of how many upvotes those posts you receive and you know the the more investors um a coin has the more up votes so
the coins you repeatedly see here already have large numbers of holders and usually you don't get massive returns by investing in um something that everyone else already owns
so you know uh by looking at the popular sort of uh sabotaging themselves um a little bit sabotaging themselves um a little bit um you know for example a post from
uh let's say 2020 talking about selena would have never made it to to the popular section of reddit never how are you supposed to hear about that
100x altcoin early enough um what you need to do is simple you just uh you just need to sort uh you know posts by new here uh this way you're actually you know
exposing yourself uh to new for new information that has potential one thing i want to make clear is you're going to see a lot of crap here right
that's why people usually you know go to the hot or top section but like i said if something already made it to the hot page you already missed the trade
so um like i said you're going to see a lot of crap here but you need to consider the posts on the new page as leads so you still need to do your research you still need to do your due diligence
but eventually if you look at it frequently enough by frequently enough i mean you know daily at least frequently enough you're going to end up seeing patterns
and you know your chances of jumping on the train early on is much higher compared to you know scanning the popular posts on i don't even look at the popular posts anymore
you know i i usually just scan the new page uh this kind of strategy applies to you know all of the other platforms as well uh when i use a platform one question
uh when i use a platform one question uh that i constantly ask myself is am i uh that i constantly ask myself is am i using this platform or is it using me if you are only consuming popular posts on a
platform that means the platform is using you right they're pushing their agenda on you and they're serving serving you the highest performing posts because
those posts have the highest engagement and you know therefore they have those posts have the highest potential to keep you on the platform and the more you stay you know the more ads you see uh which
means more more revenue for uh for reddit since the uh they they monetize all right folks that's it for this video if you're interested in tactics like this one subscribe to this channel
