> Source: [The Average American Won't Make It Without This](https://youtube.com/watch?v=dS8gEizVpWU)

## Summary

The video discusses the erosion of the American middle class and argues that financial security now requires more than a traditional job. It emphasizes the necessity of side hustles, investments, or entrepreneurship for almost everyone.

### Key Points

- **Don't Be Average** [00:02] — The speaker contrasts the average American's financial and health status with the desire to avoid being average, urging viewers to strive for more.
- **Middle Class Erosion** [00:16] — The middle class has shrunk compared to 20-30 years ago, making it difficult to achieve a career and even below-average living standards.
- **Entrepreneurship Not Just for Some** [00:31] — The speaker previously thought entrepreneurship and investing were only for certain people, but now believes that's changing.
- **Necessity of Multiple Income Streams** [00:43] — It's now less of a luxury and more of a necessity for almost everyone to have an investment vehicle, side hustle, entrepreneurship journey, or secondary job to produce income.

### Conclusion

The video concludes that relying solely on a traditional job is no longer sufficient; diversifying income through investments or side hustles is becoming essential for financial survival.

## Transcript

could get rich. Right, if you look at the average American, we're broke, fat, whatever. Right? It's a whole list of nastiness. What I just tell people is who else wants to be average? Don't be average.
>> Yeah, the the middle class is just eroded. There's just less of a middle class than there was 20 or 30 years ago. It's very difficult to get a career and even below average now. >> I also used to think that
>> I also used to think that entrepreneurship and/or investing isn't for everyone. That only some people should or need to do this. And there's probably still an argument to be made for that being true.
But I believe we are in a time now where it is less of a luxury and more of a necessity for almost everyone to have some sort of for almost everyone to have some sort of investment vehicle, side hustle,
entrepreneurship journey, or a secondary job to help produce income.
