## Summary

This video offers a practical strategy to overcome procrastination by doing the bare minimum of a task, such as going to the gym without exercising or studying for just 10 minutes. It emphasizes breaking the avoidance cycle and rejecting perfectionism to start tasks.

### Key Points

- **Bare Minimum Strategy** [00:02] — To overcome procrastination, do the bare minimum of the task, like going to the gym and coming back without exercising, or studying for just 10 minutes.
- **Conscious Action Breaks Procrastination** [00:15] — Even doing 1% of the action consciously breaks down the mental barrier that leads to finishing the task and stopping procrastination.
- **Avoidance Cycle** [00:30] — This approach prevents entering the avoidance cycle, which is a key cause of procrastination.
- **Stop Perfectionism** [00:45] — Perfectionism prevents you from producing anything; waiting for ideal conditions is futile. Instead, do the task normally, as all human beings do.

### Conclusion

The key takeaway is to start tasks with minimal effort and abandon perfectionism to break the cycle of procrastination.

## Transcript

If you're a terrible procrastinator, do the bare minimum of what you're supposed to do. You want to exercise but can't seem to? Look, put on your trainers, go to the gym, and come back. I'm not telling you to exercise, just go to the gym and come back. Even doing 1%
of that action consciously breaks down a certain part of you that will make you finish the task and stop procrastinating. You're going to study, and you're determined to study for two hours today. Look, study for just 10 minutes. Seriously, study for 10 minutes, put your phone away, and
study with complete focus. You're going to work but can't, or you're going to write something but can't, or anything else in the world. This is what prevents us from entering the avoidance cycle we talked about. Please, stop perfectionism. Perfectionism is never going to work. It will never let you produce
anything in the world. By God, it is not necessary for you to sit and wait for such and such an hour, or to sit and wait for you to study three doors behind each other, or to wait for the ideal conditions to be created for you to sit. These ideal studying tickets will not happen. You will gain the ideal. How can you do something with the intention of
not doing it perfectly? Do it normally. Do it as all human beings do it. In order to open a project, you must be aware of the mythical idea, and no one has done this mythical idea before, and do it in a way that is not the case.
