[0:00] Stillerblade being reported to payment [0:02] processors like Visa and Mastercard to [0:04] be mass- censored or deplatformed is a [0:06] pretty terrible situation that I'm glad [0:08] that a lot of people are starting to [0:09] pick up and talk about. And it's really [0:11] bringing up the entire conversation of [0:13] just uh honestly racism towards Asian [0:16] media in general because in the last [0:18] week and a half to two weeks we have [0:20] just seen the absolute um hypocrisy from [0:23] multiple different angles when it comes [0:24] to just how the reaction to Stellar [0:26] Blade was but to other media that is, [0:28] you know, basically from the west. And [0:30] I'm just going to show a few examples [0:31] here just to start off the video. For [0:33] instance, when um we had Stellar Blade [0:35] Blood Rain come out, it had its trailer [0:37] and Eevee kind of showcased her design. [0:39] A few days prior to that, we had the [0:40] stuff with God of War, and we got to see [0:43] basically the uh Kratos removed. It's a [0:45] spin-off game, yes, but Kratos was [0:47] removed for a female character. And just [0:49] to briefly dive into this topic, gamers [0:52] are very tired of the very performative [0:54] and uh just the act of making a girl [0:56] boss-like character. There's nothing [0:57] wrong necessarily with a female [0:59] character in a lead role, but it's very [1:01] clear by the way God of War was depicted [1:02] and just how it was. It feels like a [1:04] complete step away and that's something [1:06] that people really wanted. What actual [1:08] fans of God of War wanted, they want [1:10] more Kratos because obviously when you [1:12] play God of War, you don't think of just [1:14] anyone else but probably Kratos. So, it [1:16] caused a lot of backlash and there was a [1:18] lot of individuals that were basically [1:19] saying you're sexist or whatever if you [1:22] don't like the female character or you [1:23] think the female character is ugly from [1:25] the new God of War game. And within like [1:27] three days after that controversy [1:29] started to kind of surround itself in [1:31] the community and people are making a [1:33] lot of videos on it, Starblade Blood [1:35] Rain released its trailer. And the [1:37] trailer obviously it was met with a lot [1:39] of praise. But the same individuals that [1:41] were very very protective of God of War, [1:44] the new God of War game, they were very [1:46] upset with Eve's Eevee's design. They [1:48] were upset and they were going out of [1:49] their way to even say that you're a [1:51] weirdo, a creep, and potentially a PDF [1:53] if you dare like the character design. [1:56] saying that Shift Up and the CEO and [1:59] everybody working on Stellar Blade are [2:01] potential predators that are trying to [2:03] basically make an underage looking [2:06] character when if you look up like, you [2:07] know, just Asians in general, they're [2:09] very youthful and youthful looking in [2:11] appearance. And so it just instantly the [2:13] sheer hypocrisy on that is insane [2:16] because the individuals that were [2:17] preaching like uh you know you're sexist [2:19] if you don't like this female character [2:20] or a female character being in the lead [2:22] role were turning around and turning on [2:23] Stellar Blade even though there was a [2:25] very beautiful female character in a [2:27] lead role and controlling the game and [2:29] everybody was being positive about it. [2:31] So you you could just see right there. [2:32] But the the entire situation doesn't [2:35] just stop at that. Days after that, [2:37] probably about like 4 days later, there [2:39] was an announcement that the amazing [2:40] digital circus was going to be being [2:42] added to Fortnite and Pomni's design [2:44] came out. Everybody started talking [2:46] about it. I made a video talking about [2:47] it a few days ago. And basically, the [2:49] same individuals that were calling [2:50] Eevee's design very creepy. The same [2:53] individuals that think, for instance, [2:54] Loi within fiction is very creepy and [2:56] weird as well and that it should be [2:58] completely eradicated even though it's a [2:59] body type. Basically, the same [3:01] individuals that were doing that are the [3:03] same individuals that were defending [3:05] Pomny's design and saying, "This [3:06] character design is not a lolly design. [3:08] It's not a lolly body type or anything [3:10] like that." And just showing sheer [3:12] hypocrisy. Man, you hear them bugs in [3:13] the background? Holy crap. I think [3:14] that's a cicada. But anyways, basically, [3:17] we got to see just once again two [3:19] different examples within under a week [3:21] of just the sheer hypocrisy around [3:23] Eevee's design. And a lot of people [3:25] started kind of keying in on this that [3:27] there was just one thing that was very [3:28] different from let's say Pomni and God [3:30] of War from Eevee. And that is Eevee was [3:33] an Asian game. First off, she was very [3:35] beautiful, but also it it's an Asian [3:38] company that was working on Stellar [3:40] Blade. And a lot of people started [3:42] keying in on this and kind of looking at [3:43] just different controversies that we've [3:45] had, especially in just the last few [3:47] years. I mean, just to do a brief little [3:49] rundown, like, you know, just in this [3:51] year alone, there's been a lot of [3:52] different Asian games that were just [3:54] basically deplatformed or removed from [3:56] Steam for no reason at all. Not even [3:58] with any adult content in it. And [4:00] creators went to like, for instance, [4:01] social media on Twitter to talk about [4:02] how unfair this is and how they're being [4:04] debanked for no reason. Or you have, for [4:06] instance, individuals that do anime like [4:08] art style and all that and they get [4:09] commissioned to write art. PayPal [4:11] actively investigates people off site to [4:13] ban them. It is legitimately insane. You [4:16] could just clearly see the attack on [4:18] certain type of media and certain type [4:20] of entertainment besides western media. [4:22] And I think one of the big reasons why [4:24] this is is because obviously anime like [4:26] art style and media and stories is [4:29] heavily exploding within the west. I [4:32] mean anime's boom right now and manga [4:33] boom is a very good example of that. And [4:35] I think a lot of these western companies [4:37] are very very scared and upset because [4:40] obviously there is a lot of influence [4:42] from the west that is basically [4:43] crumbling apart. I mean, let's look at [4:45] recent examples of like The Backrooms. [4:47] The Back Rooms may be a western type of [4:50] g like a movie, but it's being very [4:52] successful and it's showcasing cracks [4:54] within Hollywood and that people want [4:56] something different from the traditional [4:57] Western media. And I think that a lot of [4:59] these companies are very upset that [5:01] they're losing influence and so they're [5:02] going out of their way in any way they [5:03] possibly can to attack Japanese or [5:06] Korean media and just Asian [5:08] entertainment in general to make sure [5:09] that it's not able to grow. They're just [5:11] basically attacking it at its source to [5:13] either censor itself or basically [5:15] sanitize itself. And we know that this [5:17] has been happening to anime for a very [5:19] long time when it comes to [5:20] localizations, but also basically [5:22] localizers giving comments to having [5:24] different Japanese companies censor [5:26] their stuff on the cutting room floor. [5:28] We know this type of stuff is happening. [5:29] We do. I've covered this countless [5:31] times. There's multiple articles on it, [5:33] Reddit post and everything. A brief [5:35] little diving into you can instantly [5:37] find this type of stuff. And so it is [5:40] very interesting what the Stellar Blade [5:41] situation does. It showcases straight up [5:45] the escalation of just not just um [5:48] censorship of fictional content, but [5:50] also just an attack on Asian culture [5:52] itself and that they do not like the [5:54] fact that it's getting such a massive [5:56] spotlight and basically showcasing that [5:58] the the average individual people that [6:00] want to play games want games like that [6:02] or that are fundamentally different [6:04] instead of the same stuff we've been [6:06] getting over and over from the west if [6:07] you get my point. Now back into the [6:10] stellar blade situation. Starblade [6:12] honestly with the last day and a half [6:15] with like all this controversy honestly [6:17] when it comes to it being reported and [6:19] then the petition as well and everything [6:21] in between. I think it is definitely [6:23] showcased a lot of hypocrites as well in [6:25] the space on just how many individuals [6:27] that legitimately do not actually stand [6:30] for anti-censorship. A lot of [6:31] individuals that like to parrot that [6:33] they're, you know, anti-censorship but [6:35] in reality they're not. They'll turn on [6:37] a dime. It's it's really weird behavior. [6:39] I've seen a lot of people that used to [6:40] actually side with me on anti-censorship [6:43] just suddenly going mask off. It's like [6:45] I said, it's very jarring honestly. It's [6:47] really shocking to me. But um besides [6:50] that, we also have everything about like [6:53] the Shift Up CEO. Like there's going to [6:55] be a lot of pressure I think on the CEO [6:57] and Shift Up and Stellar Blade in the [7:00] coming months, especially in the next [7:02] year before it releases because, you [7:04] know, this is just the beginning. This [7:05] is obviously PR for the game. This is [7:07] definitely going to get people to buy [7:08] the game, but I mean payment processors, [7:10] they they hold a lot of power. They do. [7:12] I mean, they got steam to buckle and [7:14] bend and add an entirely new rule set on [7:16] their site. So, Shift Up, to be [7:18] completely blunt, they can't do anything [7:20] about payment processors if their their [7:22] eye of Sauron focuses in on them. That [7:24] just you can't avoid that. So, it's very [7:27] scary, honestly. And I am really [7:29] terrified on if this situation is going [7:32] to continuously escalate because you [7:34] know truthfully you know all it takes is [7:37] just a few handful of people and someone [7:39] with the right connections to do some [7:41] serious damage once again like [7:43] collective shout did. And like I said [7:45] the petition showcases just how few [7:47] people are in support of censoring [7:49] stellar blade besides the few select [7:51] crazies. But the thing is is that all it [7:53] does is take a few handful of people to [7:55] really systematically destroy [7:56] everything. And this kind of gets into [7:58] kind of like the whole argument with [8:00] anime and manga and just how like it's [8:02] been getting censored quite a bit as [8:03] well in the last few years and how [8:05] there's just the the very bullies that [8:07] um basically used to bully you for like [8:09] let's say Naruto or Dragon Ball or One [8:11] Piece are now within the community and [8:13] bullying you if you like anything [8:14] outside of those shows. We could just [8:16] see all around there's a lot of attack [8:17] from individuals that really want to [8:19] change the space, censor the space, make [8:21] you silent, different things like that. [8:23] It's just uh it's got really annoying [8:25] over like the the past few years and [8:27] it's just I I I'm glad to see a lot of [8:30] people are really starting to notice [8:31] this just the toxicity around it or in [8:33] this case noticing just how many people [8:35] are really laring and just want to [8:37] destroy anime manga and just gaming in [8:40] general and they don't really care. They [8:41] want it all for what they want. And if [8:44] it's anything against what they want, [8:45] their type of politics or ideals, they [8:47] want it completely gone, completely [8:49] censored. I mean, one good example of [8:51] this is like the recent drama with um [8:54] you know, the translations. I covered [8:55] this a few days ago, but with the whole [8:57] translations of like the unofficial [8:59] translation, a lot of localizers that [9:01] typically like to put like gender [9:02] politics, gender identity, and different [9:04] type of things that kind of, you know, [9:07] shift towards left ideal or progressive [9:08] type viewpoints, you know, those [9:10] individuals were very upset with the [9:12] translation of the manga series that got [9:14] an unofficial translation a few days [9:16] ago. And um basically they were like the [9:19] translations need to be 1:1 Japanese [9:21] accurate. And I'm like this is so [9:23] hypocritical because the the same [9:25] individuals that are trying to say it [9:26] needs to be 1:1 are the same people that [9:28] say it's impossible to make one to one [9:30] adaptation or translations of Japanese [9:32] content. And I'm like do you even hear [9:34] yourself? Do you even know what you're [9:36] doing or what you're saying? It's just [9:38] like I said it's infuriating. It it's [9:40] really infuriating just like seeing the [9:43] increase of just hypocrisy, especially [9:45] in the last few weeks. Um, but like I [9:48] said, a lot of people seem to be kind of [9:49] opening up their eyes and a lot of [9:51] people that used to be kind of against [9:52] me as well are actually starting to see [9:54] what it really is for what it is and [9:56] just honestly siding with me. So, that's [9:59] that's really nice to see. But, I just I [10:01] wanted to take a few moments to talk [10:02] about this, get my overall thoughts on [10:04] the situation out cuz honestly, I uh [10:07] just am I the only one seeing it? like, [10:09] you know, let me know. Like, am I crazy? [10:11] Am I the only one seeing these type of [10:13] issues that are escalating and stuff? Be [10:15] honest. Um, but with that being said, I [10:17] love you guys. You have a wonderful day [10:19] or night wherever you live. Be safe. [10:21] Stay healthy. She be out.
