## Transcript

Stillerblade being reported to payment
processors like Visa and Mastercard to
be mass- censored or deplatformed is a
pretty terrible situation that I'm glad
that a lot of people are starting to
pick up and talk about. And it's really
bringing up the entire conversation of
just uh honestly racism towards Asian
media in general because in the last
week and a half to two weeks we have
just seen the absolute um hypocrisy from
multiple different angles when it comes
to just how the reaction to Stellar
Blade was but to other media that is,
you know, basically from the west. And
I'm just going to show a few examples
here just to start off the video. For
instance, when um we had Stellar Blade
Blood Rain come out, it had its trailer
and Eevee kind of showcased her design.
A few days prior to that, we had the
stuff with God of War, and we got to see
basically the uh Kratos removed. It's a
spin-off game, yes, but Kratos was
removed for a female character. And just
to briefly dive into this topic, gamers
are very tired of the very performative
and uh just the act of making a girl
boss-like character. There's nothing
wrong necessarily with a female
character in a lead role, but it's very
clear by the way God of War was depicted
and just how it was. It feels like a
complete step away and that's something
that people really wanted. What actual
fans of God of War wanted, they want
more Kratos because obviously when you
play God of War, you don't think of just
anyone else but probably Kratos. So, it
caused a lot of backlash and there was a
lot of individuals that were basically
saying you're sexist or whatever if you
don't like the female character or you
think the female character is ugly from
the new God of War game. And within like
three days after that controversy
started to kind of surround itself in
the community and people are making a
lot of videos on it, Starblade Blood
Rain released its trailer. And the
trailer obviously it was met with a lot
of praise. But the same individuals that
were very very protective of God of War,
the new God of War game, they were very
upset with Eve's Eevee's design. They
were upset and they were going out of
their way to even say that you're a
weirdo, a creep, and potentially a PDF
if you dare like the character design.
saying that Shift Up and the CEO and
everybody working on Stellar Blade are
potential predators that are trying to
basically make an underage looking
character when if you look up like, you
know, just Asians in general, they're
very youthful and youthful looking in
appearance. And so it just instantly the
sheer hypocrisy on that is insane
because the individuals that were
preaching like uh you know you're sexist
if you don't like this female character
or a female character being in the lead
role were turning around and turning on
Stellar Blade even though there was a
very beautiful female character in a
lead role and controlling the game and
everybody was being positive about it.
So you you could just see right there.
But the the entire situation doesn't
just stop at that. Days after that,
probably about like 4 days later, there
was an announcement that the amazing
digital circus was going to be being
added to Fortnite and Pomni's design
came out. Everybody started talking
about it. I made a video talking about
it a few days ago. And basically, the
same individuals that were calling
Eevee's design very creepy. The same
individuals that think, for instance,
Loi within fiction is very creepy and
weird as well and that it should be
completely eradicated even though it's a
body type. Basically, the same
individuals that were doing that are the
same individuals that were defending
Pomny's design and saying, "This
character design is not a lolly design.
It's not a lolly body type or anything
like that." And just showing sheer
hypocrisy. Man, you hear them bugs in
the background? Holy crap. I think
that's a cicada. But anyways, basically,
we got to see just once again two
different examples within under a week
of just the sheer hypocrisy around
Eevee's design. And a lot of people
started kind of keying in on this that
there was just one thing that was very
different from let's say Pomni and God
of War from Eevee. And that is Eevee was
an Asian game. First off, she was very
beautiful, but also it it's an Asian
company that was working on Stellar
Blade. And a lot of people started
keying in on this and kind of looking at
just different controversies that we've
had, especially in just the last few
years. I mean, just to do a brief little
rundown, like, you know, just in this
year alone, there's been a lot of
different Asian games that were just
basically deplatformed or removed from
Steam for no reason at all. Not even
with any adult content in it. And
creators went to like, for instance,
social media on Twitter to talk about
how unfair this is and how they're being
debanked for no reason. Or you have, for
instance, individuals that do anime like
art style and all that and they get
commissioned to write art. PayPal
actively investigates people off site to
ban them. It is legitimately insane. You
could just clearly see the attack on
certain type of media and certain type
of entertainment besides western media.
And I think one of the big reasons why
this is is because obviously anime like
art style and media and stories is
heavily exploding within the west. I
mean anime's boom right now and manga
boom is a very good example of that. And
I think a lot of these western companies
are very very scared and upset because
obviously there is a lot of influence
from the west that is basically
crumbling apart. I mean, let's look at
recent examples of like The Backrooms.
The Back Rooms may be a western type of
g like a movie, but it's being very
successful and it's showcasing cracks
within Hollywood and that people want
something different from the traditional
Western media. And I think that a lot of
these companies are very upset that
they're losing influence and so they're
going out of their way in any way they
possibly can to attack Japanese or
Korean media and just Asian
entertainment in general to make sure
that it's not able to grow. They're just
basically attacking it at its source to
either censor itself or basically
sanitize itself. And we know that this
has been happening to anime for a very
long time when it comes to
localizations, but also basically
localizers giving comments to having
different Japanese companies censor
their stuff on the cutting room floor.
We know this type of stuff is happening.
We do. I've covered this countless
times. There's multiple articles on it,
Reddit post and everything. A brief
little diving into you can instantly
find this type of stuff. And so it is
very interesting what the Stellar Blade
situation does. It showcases straight up
the escalation of just not just um
censorship of fictional content, but
also just an attack on Asian culture
itself and that they do not like the
fact that it's getting such a massive
spotlight and basically showcasing that
the the average individual people that
want to play games want games like that
or that are fundamentally different
instead of the same stuff we've been
getting over and over from the west if
you get my point. Now back into the
stellar blade situation. Starblade
honestly with the last day and a half
with like all this controversy honestly
when it comes to it being reported and
then the petition as well and everything
in between. I think it is definitely
showcased a lot of hypocrites as well in
the space on just how many individuals
that legitimately do not actually stand
for anti-censorship. A lot of
individuals that like to parrot that
they're, you know, anti-censorship but
in reality they're not. They'll turn on
a dime. It's it's really weird behavior.
I've seen a lot of people that used to
actually side with me on anti-censorship
just suddenly going mask off. It's like
I said, it's very jarring honestly. It's
really shocking to me. But um besides
that, we also have everything about like
the Shift Up CEO. Like there's going to
be a lot of pressure I think on the CEO
and Shift Up and Stellar Blade in the
coming months, especially in the next
year before it releases because, you
know, this is just the beginning. This
is obviously PR for the game. This is
definitely going to get people to buy
the game, but I mean payment processors,
they they hold a lot of power. They do.
I mean, they got steam to buckle and
bend and add an entirely new rule set on
their site. So, Shift Up, to be
completely blunt, they can't do anything
about payment processors if their their
eye of Sauron focuses in on them. That
just you can't avoid that. So, it's very
scary, honestly. And I am really
terrified on if this situation is going
to continuously escalate because you
know truthfully you know all it takes is
just a few handful of people and someone
with the right connections to do some
serious damage once again like
collective shout did. And like I said
the petition showcases just how few
people are in support of censoring
stellar blade besides the few select
crazies. But the thing is is that all it
does is take a few handful of people to
really systematically destroy
everything. And this kind of gets into
kind of like the whole argument with
anime and manga and just how like it's
been getting censored quite a bit as
well in the last few years and how
there's just the the very bullies that
um basically used to bully you for like
let's say Naruto or Dragon Ball or One
Piece are now within the community and
bullying you if you like anything
outside of those shows. We could just
see all around there's a lot of attack
from individuals that really want to
change the space, censor the space, make
you silent, different things like that.
It's just uh it's got really annoying
over like the the past few years and
it's just I I I'm glad to see a lot of
people are really starting to notice
this just the toxicity around it or in
this case noticing just how many people
are really laring and just want to
destroy anime manga and just gaming in
general and they don't really care. They
want it all for what they want. And if
it's anything against what they want,
their type of politics or ideals, they
want it completely gone, completely
censored. I mean, one good example of
this is like the recent drama with um
you know, the translations. I covered
this a few days ago, but with the whole
translations of like the unofficial
translation, a lot of localizers that
typically like to put like gender
politics, gender identity, and different
type of things that kind of, you know,
shift towards left ideal or progressive
type viewpoints, you know, those
individuals were very upset with the
translation of the manga series that got
an unofficial translation a few days
ago. And um basically they were like the
translations need to be 1:1 Japanese
accurate. And I'm like this is so
hypocritical because the the same
individuals that are trying to say it
needs to be 1:1 are the same people that
say it's impossible to make one to one
adaptation or translations of Japanese
content. And I'm like do you even hear
yourself? Do you even know what you're
doing or what you're saying? It's just
like I said it's infuriating. It it's
really infuriating just like seeing the
increase of just hypocrisy, especially
in the last few weeks. Um, but like I
said, a lot of people seem to be kind of
opening up their eyes and a lot of
people that used to be kind of against
me as well are actually starting to see
what it really is for what it is and
just honestly siding with me. So, that's
that's really nice to see. But, I just I
wanted to take a few moments to talk
about this, get my overall thoughts on
the situation out cuz honestly, I uh
just am I the only one seeing it? like,
you know, let me know. Like, am I crazy?
Am I the only one seeing these type of
issues that are escalating and stuff? Be
honest. Um, but with that being said, I
love you guys. You have a wonderful day
or night wherever you live. Be safe.
Stay healthy. She be out.
