# My View on the Cinder Situation

> Source: [My View on the Cinder Situation](https://youtube.com/watch?v=HU0vmkqEI6o)

## Summary

The speaker shares his view on the controversy surrounding VTuber Cinder, who allegedly sabotaged other people's art commissions to be the sole client of artist Nanalus. He argues that toxic behavior is not unique to VTubing or to women, but exists in every community and industry.

### Key Points

- **Cinder's alleged sabotage** [00:05] — VTuber Cinder, who has a hellhound theme, is revealed to have sabotaged other people's art contracts with artist Nanalus.
- **Pressure to dump commissions** [00:38] — Cinder pressured the artist Nanalus to drop commission work so that she would be the only person with Nanalus's art.
- **Reframing the narrative** [01:06] — The speaker focuses not on the drama itself but on the reaction calling it 'mean girls behavior' or evidence of a toxic undercurrent in VTubing.
- **Toxic people exist everywhere** [01:19] — In every industry and subculture the speaker has been involved in, there are 'crap people' — this is not VTubing-specific.
- **Not a gender issue** [01:35] — A previous case with Mad Scientist Media, who sabotaged VTuber careers, was done by a guy, proving it is not a sex or gender thing.
- **Inevitable in large groups** [02:30] — Any sufficiently large group will have one or two nasty people who ruin it for everyone else; that's an unfortunate truth.
- **Best response: systems and awareness** [02:43] — The best way forward is to create systems that help find such people and protect ourselves, while staying alert.

### Conclusion

Toxic individuals exist in any community, so the focus should be on building protective systems rather than blaming an entire group or subculture.

VTuber space over the weekend. In particular, weekend. In particular, um there is a VTuber called Cinder. um there is a VTuber called Cinder. Yeah, Cinder who is well her theme is
like a hellhound type thing. And it has been revealed that she's been basically been revealed that she's been basically sabotaging other people's uh art contracts 67. So So basically if you
commission art from an artist called Nanalus who is very is very good art. What Cinder would do is pressure that
artist to basically dump your commission because she wanted to be the only person because she wanted to be the only person who had Manalith's art which is very who had Manalith's art which is very sort of yeah it's very messed up and
sort of yeah it's very messed up and very jealous and all of that and I don't want to exactly address that at the moment. What I want to address is some of the people who have been going around saying, "Oh, this is very mean girls
saying, "Oh, this is very mean girls behavior or it shows that underneath V tubing there's a sort of toxic undercurrent." And I think honestly that they're wrong because in every industry that I have been involved in and in
that I have been involved in and in every sort of sector of sort of human existence, every subculture, etc., etc., I've always met and crap people. Yeah, there are crap people in every job. I don't think it's a Vtubing
thing. I think it's just a person thing. And I don't think it's uh even a woman thing because there was this isn't the only case of something like this happening. Previously, there's been a
happening. Previously, there's been a case with a company called Mad Scientist Media. Five, six, seven, eight. Yep. who were sabotaging other people's
were sabotaging other people's uh VTuber careers and that was done by a uh VTuber careers and that was done by a guy. I think it's just yeah crap people and mean people that doesn't that's not a sex thing. It's not a gender thing.
It's a person people thing. And if you have a group of large enough of people, have a group of large enough of people, there's always going to be one or two nasty crap people who ruin it for everybody
else. It's the unfortunate truth of the matter. And the best thing we can do is create systems that that allow us to find those type of people and protect
ourselves from those type of people. sort of be aware and have our keep our sort of be aware and have our keep our eyes open and our ears to the
