[00:02] hanging in the balance. Welcome back all of the Easter eggs, references, and little things you might have missed in Now look, it's been a good while since
[00:14] recap of what happened last season in Ahsoka's history. Then we'll break down we're going to talk about why this show could be the single most important thing Star Wars has created since season 1 of The Mandalorian. So, here's a very quick
[00:28] recap on Ahsoka and the series. The character first debuted in the Clone Wars movie and quickly became one of the best parts of the Clone Wars series. She is Anakin Skywalker's Padawan and throughout that show, we saw her grow
[00:40] from like a young annoying kid. >> You're stuck with me, Skye. >> To a badass who took down Darth Maul. But Ahsoka walked away from the Jedi order in season 5 of the show after they
[00:52] of murder. Her departure further drives a wedge between Anakin and the Jedi testy between them and Revenge of the Sith. >> You're on this council, >> but we do not grant you the rank of
[01:05] >> What? >> Ahsoka barely survived Order 66 and then Bale Orana pulled her into his nent rebellion against the Empire. Now, in coordinated between different rebel cells under the code name of Fulcrrim.
[01:19] Eventually, she worked directly with one of those cells called the Specters on the show Star Wars Rebels. Now, the show Rebels is very important to this series because the show Ahsoka continues the story that Dave Fona began in that
[01:31] series is Ezra Bridger, a young force-sensitive orphan whose parents in with the Ghost crew, a former Jedi named Kanan who trains him to use the Force. Their leader, Harrison Dola, Zeb, who's a Latin strongman for the group.
[01:45] Mandalorian Sabine Ren, and she develops a close bond with Ezra throughout the series. In season two of Rebels, the crew faces off against Darth Vader and the Sith Inquisitors. Ahsoka faces her former master and is horrified when she
[01:58] Anakin, >> then she delays Vader so the rebels can squared up with a brilliant Imperial tactician named Grand Admiral Thrawn. Now, Thrawon is a genius military officer who hails from the unknown
[02:12] death, Ezra finds a portal into the force realm called the World Between Ahsoka's life. Soon after, Ezra uses space whales to take himself and Thron off to another galaxy. Then the events of the original trilogy happen and
[02:26] Ahsoka tries to train Sabine Ren to be a Jedi, but she has absolutely no aptitude out. Then about 6 to 7 years later, Ahsoka briefly helps Luke to rebuild his Jedi temple, but she's mostly hunting for Thrawn so she can find Ezra. So now
[02:39] artifacts with the Jedi helper droid named Hu Yang. In season one of Ahsoka, a force witch named Morgan Ellsworth is trying to find Thron so she can return Thrawn to lead the Imperial remnants called the Imperial Shadow Council so
[02:53] Morgan has enlisted the help of a former Jedi named Balon Skull and his Sabine gives them a map to the other galaxy cuz she wants to go find Ezra. Ahsoka then rides some space whales to follow them to the force witch's home
[03:07] and that is where they find both Thron and Ezra. Ahsoka and Sabine make a sacrifice to stay behind so then Ezra can return to the main galaxy and Thron also returns to the flailing empire. Meanwhile, Balon Skull stays on Paridia
[03:20] because he is on a mission to search out the Mortise gods beings who are like the Yeah, that was a lot. Yeah, and that was just the fast version. Now, if I
[03:32] Oh, no. This is awful. The store owners are going to come for a visit. The store has earners. Yes. Once every blood moon, wraiths rise from the earth and demand an offering from us. Their hunger is insatiable. We don't have any food.

[05:14] But what are we going to feed the store owners? We're doomed. Uh-uh. I'm making All right, let's break this trailer down. We open on Doamir. Now, this is first introduced in the courtship of Princess Leia, but then played a major
[05:29] the end of the war, Palpatine ordered the Nightsisters to be wiped out, and Morgan Ellsworth was one of the few survivors, as we saw in the show Tales we've seen Datamir in live action, and it looks exactly like it does in the
[05:42] Clone Wars. Now, it appears that this is also where Thron's hyperspace ring New Republic is launching an assault on the world. Tactically, it's a pretty obvious move, and it's probably a trap set by Thron. As we'll see later on, the
[05:55] well for the New Republic. And then we see a ground battle over top of what might be graves. Now, these could be a memorial to the fallen witches from the Clone Wars, or as the channel Star Wars Explained theorized, these could be the
[06:08] Chimera last season. Now, we have seen the Nightsisters resurrect the dead before, for instance, like Merrick in season 1. So, maybe Thron's plan is to Brothers and then use them like a dark Jedi order for his new empire. Now, the
[06:22] trailer is largely narrated by Anakin's Force ghost, who of course appeared at actually, if you're curious about how Anakin came back, that's explained in the short story Brotherhood from Return of the Jedi, a certain point of view.
[06:34] Ahsoka during the Clone Wars played once again I think by Ariana Greenblat who War. Notice Anakin is wearing a blue overcoat just like in the Clone Wars episode Trespass. Ahsoka is also wearing the same coat that she wore to Illum in
[06:48] the episode the gathering. Now Star Wars explained my favorite Star Wars channel were on a mission to hunt down this rogue Jedi. Kind of like how Pong Krelll fell during the war. Now this Jedi has adapted his double-bladed saber to have
[07:01] a blade in the middle. Also notice that he is using white blades similar to what Ahsoka adapted after she left the Jedi order. Now this is all narrated over Anakin telling Ahsoka that she has to decide are you a Jedi or not. And maybe
[07:14] Ahsoka is remembering fighting this fallen Jedi to help her make her decision. Now it looks like this Jedi killed his own clone troopers. Maybe he killing the Jedi, which of course set him off to attack his own troopers. But
[07:27] and he wouldn't have listened to this Jedi's visions. So they sent Ahsoka and Lucasfilm logo has turned red to show us the reemergence of the evil empire but also of the witches of Datamir. And we see Thron ship, the Chimera, back in the
[07:41] main Star Wars galaxy. Now notice that the Chimera has some sort of cannon new kind of super weapon that Thron has added onto the ship. Now this could actually end up tying into the sequel trilogy. See Thron is from the Chis
[07:54] That's the part of space where Palpatine secretly built his fleet of planet destroying ships. Thronon could be using a rudimentary version of that technology here, which will later be adapted by
[08:07] is making an announcement that he is assuming control of the Empire. Now, I is based on the first expanded universe And I'm telling you guys, almost 40 years later, they are still my favorite
[08:21] Star Wars books ever written. It is hard to tell that story without Han, Luke, and Leia. But it seems like Dave Fona is using his Rebels characters as reskins tell the story. Now Thrawn is able to assume control because in the years
[08:34] following the Galactic Civil War, the Imperial remnants have been ruled by a shadow council. However, in the Mandalorian and Grou, we saw that Den member at a time, creating a power vacuum that now Thron can fill. Thrawon
[08:47] says, >> "I took an oath to protect the empire." >> And I should note that Thron is actually not an Imperial loyalist. His first duty is to his own people, the Chis. He faked exile to join the Empire in order to
[09:00] groom them to be an ally against a greater threat called the Grisk. So events of the galaxy have worked out perfectly for him. Now he can rule the combine his empire with the Chess Ascendy. I also like that Thron is
[09:13] announcing his return publicly via hologram to the entire galaxy. And we're >> somehow Palpatine returned. Doula walking down a hallway with a clean shaven Ezra alongside Centers
[09:27] Yono, father of Cass from Star Wars Rebels. This shot of Thron seems taken from this very awesome artwork of him. Now notice on the right we see the how you actually pronounce them, but these are the lizards that in the Heir
[09:39] to the Empire books can cancel out the force in the show rebels. He had a desk. He says >> declare war for the Rebel Alliance. And this is straight out of the books where he never legitimized the New Republic by
[09:52] point in the saga, the New Republic has largely demilitarized, stripping away 90% of their navy. So even the dregs of the Empire could be an actual threat to the New Republic. This shot is from the bridge of Akbar ship home one, where the
[10:06] Return of the Jedi. Hara is looking at a hologram of the Chimera in some kind of rank, and this is as they are planning their attack. And then we see Thron's genius at work. He uses tie bombers to drop boarding vessels that cut into the
[10:20] hole. Now, these seem like a version of the mole miners that Thron uses in the books. And this one drops this kick-ass Nightsister on board of a New Republic star destroyer. She uses an energy bow, a favorite weapon of the Night Sisters.
[10:32] green energy. Again, shout out to Echart's ladder who theorized that Thrawn could be attacking a shipyard to steal these ships like the attack he heir to the Empire. Now, in the books, Thron's grand plan is to use an old
[10:46] cloning cylinder from the Clone Wars to create a limitless army. And here, it looks like he's using resurrected Doamrians for the same purpose. Imagine millions of undead zealots who swear filthy to him. The idea of cutting into
[10:58] Tactics where they use giant balls of acid to eat through enemy halls during where we've had some passage of time as Sabine's hair is longer, and I'm sure she's been able to increase her skills as a Jedi in that time. Ahsoka tells her
[11:12] see Morgan Ellsworth flanked by looking guy with the goldfaced is named Enoch and he is flanked by what might a theory. I don't know who this is and this is intercut with B-wings attacking
[11:26] the Chimera. Now these are fighters that first appeared in Return of the Jedi and capital ships. It's very cool to finally see them doing that in live action combat. Now notice that the Chimera is still attached to its giant hyperspace
[11:39] Echart's ladder has a great theory that this ring could be powering the super weapon at the front of the ship. Now in this battle we see the whole Republic fleet converging. We see Moncala cruisers, Nebulon B frigots, the Ghost
[11:52] cruiser. And later we see medium preparing for a ground assault. And shout out to the channel Echarts ladder for spotting this star destroyer that is actually part of the New Republic fleet.
[12:05] Republic here. Now, in season 3 of The Mandalorian, we saw the New Republic see that they are actually incorporating this will create some kind of nuance question among the New Republic as they
[12:18] start to wonder if they themselves are becoming the new Empire. I think you're but it is a cool background detail. Then on Paridia, Sabine and Ahsoka discover a here. The temple is covered with circular designs, also like the map that
[12:32] led to Paridia. It also calls to mind the temple of the mortise gods that we have to work together to open up this temple. And notice how each half of the door looks like a yin-yang symbol symbolizing the balance of the force. We
[12:45] actually saw a similar depiction in the tile of the prime Jedi that we saw in the mortise gods are a literal interpretation of this balance with the father that keeps balance between the two. Now, the running theory is that
[12:58] Balon Skull is on this planet seeking out the mother called Abaloth, also known as the Queen of Chaos. At the end of season 1, Balon split off from his apprentice. She's trying to get back home while Balin is seeking his greater
[13:10] should also note that this season, Balon McCann, after the sad passing of Ray Stevenson. Later, we see him pursuing maybe he actually does need her to unlock the power that he seeks. Now,
[13:24] circular patterns, which we call the gateway to the world between worlds that we saw in Rebels and also the temple of the Zeo. These are ancient force users see in the Jedi Fallen Order games. Later, they duel a droid in this chamber
[13:38] temple, which no doubt leads to the mother of the mortise gods. And then we get a reunion of Rebels characters, Chopper, then Ezra hugging Zeb. I mean, this is a huge moment for you. And this is intercut with Ezra flying an A-wing
[13:52] in combat as he would do sometimes in Rebels and then Ezra fighting Enoch on Datamir. Enoch is wielding a blade made out of Nightsister magic with a K. And this fight looks extremely badass. One of my favorite concepts of this series
[14:04] is that Thron is utilizing the Nightsisters in order to take control of the galaxy. Meanwhile, Anakin's ghost is kind of nudging Ahsoka toward rejoining >> This is your trial, Ahsoka. >> He says this is her trial. And the first
[14:16] thing I thought was, dude, she beat Darth Maul in single combat. That was her trial. And then we see Ahsoka and Sabine with their giant wolves. Dave same droids that they fight in the temple later on. Then Shinhhati arrives
[14:29] at the noty village where Hu Yang duels her to defend the ship. Now, the channel here. Hu Yang has been around for thousands of years. He's responsible for sabers. But here we see him splitting his arms off in combat. Maybe General
[14:43] Grievous was actually designed to kind of emulate Hu Yang, like a twisted version of that old droid. And then we see U wings in a dog fight with TIE her Mandalorian flamethrower against one of those defense droids. And notice that
[14:56] in this space battle, things are not going well for the New Republic. This ship is on fire. This capital ship in the background is destroyed. So years ago, it was announced that Dave Fona would be directing a Star Wars film that
[15:08] culminated all of the Mando verse TV shows into this Thrawn War. Now, I was started in this show, and I seriously doubt if it's going to be wrapped up by the end of the season. Fileona is now co-president of Lucasfilm, so he has a
[15:21] lit moving forward. I do wonder if they're still going to do a big screen show or if this is going to continue on as a series that combines all of these show looks awesome, but I'm still not overly optimistic about it. Season 1 was
[15:35] the show Rebels. And they're also focusing on aspects of Star Wars that I the mortise gods, the world between worlds, and Ezra from Star Wars Rebels. But I choose to be optimistic. Fileona is a genius storyteller, and there's a
[15:48] said this was going to be the most important Star Wars show since The Mandalorian kicked off Star Wars TV in 2019. That's because when the pandemic hit, Disney suddenly commissioned so many Star Wars shows. Some of them were
[16:01] really rushed, like The Book of Boba Fett. Others slowly developed a strong following after they had low debuts like Skeleton Crew and the Acolyte. Then when Bob Iger returned to the role of Disney CEO, he reigned in the spending at
[16:14] studios like Lucasfilm and Marvel Studios. He wanted Star Wars back in and he slowly cancelled live action series like the Acolyte. In fact, John Favro has said that he already planned out Mandalorian season 4. It was
[16:27] universe that Dave Fona was building, but he had to scrap those plans and create the movie Mandalorian and Grou. So now Ahsoka is the only live-action TV fails, that could be the end of
[16:40] showrunner Dave Filona is now president of Lucasfilm. But see, all of these Mando verse shows were originally supposed to culminate in a movie where led by Grand Admiral Thrawn. Like we talked about earlier, this was the
[16:54] Favro had planned out. It was going to lead up to this big culmination movie. Now, inside sources like Daniel RPK are saying that if the Mandalorian and Grou show Ahsoka doesn't produce good numbers, the Mandoververse could be gone
[17:09] for good, which I think is a huge mistake. The Mandalorian is a show that could have run for years and would have always had a following. I think Disney overextended Star Wars TV during the pandemic, and now it seems like great
