## Transcript

hey guys this is adam with ceramic pro
and this is the first video of a series
on how to detail your car welcome to
detailing 101
so i'm going to run you through the
whole process starting from the top of
the vehicle
all the way to the bottom i'm going to
introduce you to all the tools but i
encourage you to subscribe now
because we're going to go in depth in
the future on every step
to get you professional results at home
or to show you
why you should choose a professional
installer first things first
we're going to wash the vehicle you
start with a pre-rinse
here with a professional facility we use
spot-free water it's deionized
so we can actually wash the vehicle
start from the top do the wheels and
leave the car wet for a long period of
time
the top is where all of the dinginess
lands where the sun beats down your car
and bakes in all of that stuff up there
that you don't want there
so first thing pre-rinse the vehicle get
off all the loose dirt
as you move your way down you'll want to
pre-rinse the wheel wells and then
pre-rinse the wheels
once you've knocked off all of the
general loose dirt the next thing you're
going to do
is move to the two bucket system washing
so as you can see we have two buckets
we always have a grit guard in there so
that
your dirt falls to the bottom but your
wash media stays at the top
we also love using an eco wash system
here and i'll go into that
again on the next video so now that your
car's been pre-rinsed
you're gonna start soaping the car from
the top
work your way down if you're working in
a nice shaded area like we have
and you have spot-free water you can
basically soak the entire vehicle
working from your top to the bottom and
do all the smooth painted surfaces
next you'll go ahead and pressure wash
all of that soap
off then once the body is generally
clean
you're going to spray some degreasers
into the wheel wells
and break up any hard dirt that's in
there and then pressure wash
all that out once that's clean your
wheels are going to look dirty dirty
dirty
so get down low and you're going to
degrease the wheels
degrease the tires pressure wash it and
then use
a variety of detailing brushes to make
sure that you get into
all the nooks and crannies once it's
clean
you go ahead and pressure wash that out
again and the wheel should be
totally clean from the back to the front
including all around the lugs
next your truck should be very clean
but you probably have some hidden dirt
on your running boards
or on your accessory plastic panels like
this
so you'll wanna almost in a way start
from the beginning again
spray some mild ph neutral
degreaser and cleaner onto these
plastics
then you'll go ahead and gently scrub it
with a scrub brush
being very very careful to not touch the
paint
now once that's all cleaned up you'll
pressure wash that again
and make sure you got all of that debris
off the body
if needed you might need to soak that
area once again
and pressure wash it again after that
the exterior of your car or truck should
look
very clean and again because we're using
spot-free water
and we're indoors we have time so what i
mean by
having time is you won't be getting
water spots on the vehicle
which are a really really negative thing
that you don't want
so i'm opening the doors you're probably
thinking i'm moving on to cleaning the
interior but i'm actually not i'm still
working the paint
as you can see in the door jambs they're
all painted
just like the exterior of the vehicle so
i'm still cleaning paint
here you'll want to use that mild ph
neutral degreaser
and spray it all in the cracks and
crevices
all throughout and you'll start to see
dirt just falling out like you never
knew was there
next use um just water
or a uh or a even more mild cleaner
and spray it in and you'll use a
microfiber towel to clean all those
areas
being careful of course to not let it
over spray into the interior
once you've cleaned it then you want to
dry it close the doors
and begin the process of drying the
vehicle
so during this process you'll use very
soft microfiber towels drying towels
and you can dry the vehicle to about
eighty percent dry
it doesn't have to be perfectly bone dry
because you're about to decontaminate
the paint
after that so now the vehicle
is almost completely dry you'll begin
again
by adding a lubricant onto the paint
you always want to work with semi-wet
paint or lubricated paint
you very rarely want to rub dry because
you can actually add scratches
so once it's lubricated using
our preferred product which is pink
wipeout
then you will move into the
decontamination process
decontamination is a fancy word for clay
barring
this is a clay towel you can use a clay
bar or a clay towel
and you will again begin from the top
and work your way down gently wiping it
until the paint feels smooth
again we're going to go into depth in
that in the next video
that's the decontamination process once
the paint feels entirely smooth
then you dry the vehicle completely back
with the microfiber drying towels that
are very soft
and if needed you can use compressed air
which we have here hanging from the
ceilings to get all the water
out of all the cracks and crevices
because the last thing you want when you
go for a drive
is water to run down the paint after
you've decontaminated it and dried it
totally
you can move on to either detailing the
interior
or continuing to polish and brighten the
paint
using a machine polisher so we just got
finished drying the vehicle
and now you have to look at how you're
going to protect the exterior of course
you can look into old methods like wax
or sealants
or you can check out ceramic pro's full
line of exterior protection products
alright so we just got finished with the
exterior of the vehicle now we're moving
on to the interior
and of course the first step when
detailing your interior is vacuuming
so choosing the right vacuum is
important this one has
very high suction and even possibly more
important than that
is having the right attachments to make
sure you can get into all the nooks and
crannies
so come on over i'll show you the basic
process to detail the interior vehicle
so as i said of course first thing we do
here at a ceramic pro shop
is we vacuum the interior and actually
the next thing we do
is we use compressed air and then we
blow out
as much of the dirt and debris that's
hidden as possible to loosen it back up
and then believe it or not we vacuum the
vehicle again
so once it's totally vacuumed then you
have to diagnose the vehicle and say i'm
going to work from top to bottom
so when you look in this car it actually
has a lot of different types of surfaces
so you have leather you have plastic you
have rubber
you have carbon fiber and then even the
stereo screen
you need to be careful of those so
knowing which products to use
at which time is very important so you
can see we've got a variety of products
we also have a variety of cleaning
brushes and then
we have high quality microfiber towels
that are designated for the interior
only when you're cleaning the surfaces
oftentimes
you'll have to use a combination of
cleaning detergents
brushes towels and then we also use
a high-powered industrial steam cleaner
as well
so the steam cleaner will help get out
all the loose debris
clean with using less chemicals and also
disinfect
and because we work from top to bottom
now we've pushed
everything down to the bottom and we've
cleaned all of the surfaces as we work
down
and lastly you have your carpets carpets
often are a place that hide a lot of
dirt
and vacuuming just simply isn't enough
so you'll want to use
a industrial carpet cleaning machine
so this is called carpet extractor it
sprays out 210 degree hot water
and simultaneously sucks up the dirt
which you'll see in the next video it's
sucking a lot of dirt through this clear
kind of observation window here now your
carpets are clean
your leather is clean your plastics are
clean everything on the interior is
clean and
just like the exterior of your vehicle
you're going to want to look into how to
preserve it
so you can use old school products like
dressings or silicones or you can use
the full lineup of ceramic pro interior
protection
as well as a really cool product that we
have called ceramic protag
ceramic protag is an antimicrobial
coating which is so important now
because it actually continues to work
by killing germs for months after
application thank you guys so much for
