that that was taking off and working? I did my first product, which was a monitor, and it generated like $12,000 in commission. I just hit close to $3 in
GNV. Everybody sees the top affiliates as succeeding [music] all the time. When as succeeding [music] all the time. When I see us failing 95% of the time. Matt, I'm excited to finally get to talk to you, you know, on this. First off, let
me ask you, uh what is it that you do for those that don't know? What success have you had? And what is your goal for a 5-year goal? Yo, a great question. So, first off, I would say now I'm more of a content creator/TikTok Shop affiliate,
those. I think we're all content creators if you're a TikTok Shop affiliate. Uh I just hit well, I'm close to $22 million in GNV through two accounts. And my goal in 5 years is to kind of uh there's multiple different
goals. I think now that we know in this mindset that we can do five things all at once, I think helping other people, of course, I came from literally nothing. Uh so, helping other people trying to figure out that space inside
trying to figure out that space inside my head. Um and then also really growing more brand deals, doing something that I thought as a kid that I could see, wow, brands and I never knew how they do it. Now I know how they do it, so now it's
just implementing all that. So, 5 years, I think that's more like a 1-year. 5 years for an ADHD person is a really long time. So, yeah, I don't know about was like, I don't even know half of my 5-year goal, but I know a lot of people
I'm really interested to know kind of people in your position, like what kind of uh like where do you see your life, I guess, down the road? Do you see like, hey, I do exactly what I love to do? Or is it like, hey, this is just a stepping
so, I like to ask that question. No, and it's a great question. I do mean, who would have thought this affiliate space would even exist. So this is you know I I am so privileged to wake up every day and get to do this,
but I do see there's a longer term goal out there now. Nice dude. Well, now that little bit like kind of give me a rundown like what who are you and what break it down for somebody who's never heard of you before. Yeah, I'm Matt
Kohr. I generate probably 20 to 30 videos a day across two accounts on content creation. So I myself would claim that I'm in the tech field. So if you see anything tech-wise, that's something I would review. I'm a little
bit different that I don't like hopping on trending products. I think that because of my audience because of me, I can make the product trending. Uh so I know it's you know with all the things that have changed inside TikTok, I still
do. And that's where You Tech and Gaming, Top Tech and Gaming as well. Um and it's I've been doing this since July 6th of 2023. I was one of the original seven to jump on TikTok Shop. Literally one of the seven that got flown out to
Culver City to talk TikTok Shop. A lot of the things that you saw in 2023 were things that were talked about through our little seven group table. Um of the week after. So you know, you guys have seen it for about a week. Tell me a
stuff. And then I would really want to dive into that moment when you were kind of flown out there. Um tell me about I guess what was life like before like right before TikTok Shop. All right, before TikTok Shop, I was
pretty much working a marketing job. So I started uh this automotive company as a marketing coordinator. Um from that point, I worked myself up to a marketing manager and then to a director within seven years. Unfortunately,
uh COVID happened within about five years into that job. I was kind of doing stuff from home a lot and I was like, man, I'm so bored. So I started working for a soccer company. I was the national director for a company. Third
league uh soccer called UPSL. Did that from home. Got to grow that commission just think it's cool to work for your money. Um I want to see something different." TikTok was going around crazy during
COVID because everybody was sitting at home. Uh downloaded it. Thought it was the stupidest thing ever. I was like, "This is dumb." Um and then, you know, an ideas like, "Okay, so could I just not dance and talk about stuff that I
like?" Uh I was one of the first people persons to get a PlayStation 5. And so, persons to get a PlayStation 5. And so, in 2020 late 2020, 2021, I was one of 5. My friend was the general manager of GameStop. I got two of them in. I was
could get it because it was like in shortage. And so, people just blew up my account. Got to 100,000 followers. Just really, you know, talking gaming. And it was awesome. And then, I got reached out by companies on Amazon. And they're
product?" So, I'm getting free stuff, you know, just from that before TikTok Shop. So, I grew by talking about products inside of TikTok. Um you know, products inside of TikTok. Um you know, fast forward to around 2023, I'm now
marketing director of a company. I had become marketing director that year that TikTok Shop started. I started TikTok Shop July 6th, 2023. I did my first product, which was a monitor. And it generated like $12,000
in commission. It was unbelievable. The You didn't even see the commission. It trying to do math inside my head. I'm and I'm telling my wife, I was like, "I much." And she was like, "I'll believe it when I see it." And so, you know, it
you had to wait. There's a buffer period. And then, the money started real." And then, it was like I mean, I can be frank with you guys. We we made a million dollars uh in commission in 2023 from July to December.
Uh which was, you know, that's profit, you know, so that changes your whole world. So, my I'm sitting at work, you know, by 9:00 making my whole month's salary at this job that I just hit six figures in after starting at $30,000 7
years before. So, this is like the being a director was like, this is crazy. I shop happened. So, it's kind of like this surreal moment where my wife and me just made both of our salaries now in this." So, it changed into like, okay,
I'm going to hire my replacement as a marketing director. And so, I hired my going to take over this position." I wasn't going to tell anybody. I'm not big into saying goodbye. So, I kind of told that my my main managers knew it
leave. This is the day I'm going to leave. I'm not going to say goodbye to anybody. I'm just going to ghost." And I did that. Traded out Tyler, my And then doing Tik Tok shop ever since. I didn't know that you had it that fast
the the situation you're in, which is also really what I want to talk about is like how how like the stars aligning so perfectly and being so set up for like
that you were already reviewing products because you genuinely enjoyed it. And then also like being involved in the Tik Tok space it was like everything kind of aligned because you already enjoyed it. And I
like how many people out there were already doing that? And it was probably >> Yeah, no, it was really small. And I felt so lucky because I mean, if you go back to my, you know, 2021 videos, I was doing this. And you know, already doing
lot of the times. It wasn't a lot of personality. But for some reason it resonated to the audience. And then I saw the product button. I was like, "What's product?" And it was the first day. I got the notification of Tik Tok
is. Is it, you know, is it going to be good?" First product, second product, we're all hitting numbers. And you know, videos to trying to hit four, but I was working
a full-time job. So, I mean, it it really did set my audience. Think about a tech guy and a gaming guy, and then now I get to review all this cool tech now I get to review all this cool tech stuff. And it it I don't think in 2023 I
had a video that flopped. If you went by popular right now on my account, you would just see a whole slew of 2023 stuff. That's so crazy, dude. So, take me back to that first win then. You kind of mentioned the monitor would probably
be your first big win then, right? What was it the moment that you noticed that that was taking off and working? What was going through your mind on like that feeling? Cuz I know my feeling for my first moment, and I want to know like
know the exact moment like what how'd you feel in that? Yeah, so I mean, I had a few. Amber Nick, who I'm a big supporter of, also doing videos, I already had like a deal to get stuff for free. And I do want to
say I did TikTok Shop before was TikTok Shop for free for 3 years because I love to just be able to unbox things. So, when I started making money and my wife, time. She would be like, "Why are you doing this for free? You have 126,000
free." And I'm like, "I just want to get new products in." And so, I and I told of the tunnel." It was tomorrow what we're talking about that 5-year plan to do what I wanted in that 5-year plan, but TikTok Shop, you know, happened. I
had the Amber Nick going crazy numbers. I had the the monitor doing and it was feeling when you're like you're you're you're seeing success in something that you never thought even
could exist. And I mean, I I I've I was saying I I'm grateful for every day that I get to step onto the floor and get to do this because it's just like a job as >> Mhm. Wow. Yeah, I think that's such a
brilliant way to like set yourself up for it. Like you actually So many people have it differently now where they go, "Okay, how do I just start making money enjoy this? And the money will follow and I know it
will at some point some opportunity will come and that's such a I guess beautiful way to look at it cuz it's like if you do what you love, the you become good at it. Like you became good at it because you did it so much
because you enjoyed it. And I I I really like that. What is it that you kind of gathered from having a marketing director background that you think assisted you in your content now? I still think so. Uh
beginning in 2021, I wanted to make sure that if I was reviewing stuff in like a PlayStation 5 controller, I would hashtag PS5 controller and put Call of something that was coming up, original content is what we call it now. I it
would be like Call of Duty Talk uh hashtag. So, in my head, I wanted to be searched because I figured out really quick followers don't matter on TikTok. It looks good for brands and brands love it, but as far as like the it's really
crazy cuz followers matter, but the way that it looks to you is I want my so they see me on a For You page. Whether that's my followers or not, when doesn't even count it as a following their analytics. So, I think more
followers are actually looking at your content, but you don't see it. And so, to be searched in cuz I'm curious in the analytics and marketing." So, my search has always been around 20 to 30%. Now, I do think as I've grown as a TikTok Shop
think a lot of like TikTok Shop Affiliates what watch me now, but I'm still hoping that my gaming community I tested out. You'll see every morning at 8:00 and every night at 8:00 I do a gaming content or tech content talk. And
crazy is my audience for talking about gaming and tech has never crossed over into my shop until recently. I tried this thumbnail out for every single video I was doing thumbnails and it was like and then I
got messages and imagine this this going on three years of TikTok saying I sold out because I was doing TikTok shop and I was like oh so my audience is looking at my videos. They just never could get the two different. So now I took away
back to how it looks. I think hashtags matter not for regular affiliates but because I have grown organic I still am search 20 to 30% which is huge in in our space it's huge. Wow, that's actually crazy. I
going to say like my you're talking about 30% for like the videos they'll say like you know your views came from this traffic source and it's like for you page. Really? Wow. So you get like 30% on a video of search traffic. Wow.
thing for me it's like 99% for you page. My followers never see my stuff. Like they are so disconnected from my shop and that's also because my my account was like the country music videos that I screen
recorded from YouTube just for fun cuz I love I love making content I've always like watch the views go up and like learn the analytics and the data behind So I was just doing that for fun. But like once I started to start doing
had nothing to do with with country music videos. So but like but I learned account the followers interaction too much. It's all about like how does this
it out to initially and I found out to be very interesting. And I never really thought about the search platform as an as an asset for getting traffic and it seems like you really dive heavily into that which is very
Yeah and I mean I would say it's probably more for organic but I do have a PlayStation thing and now I'm talking about you know hey man this is actually very organic. I always try to strategically plan okay, what am I
talking about today? Wow, PlayStation just had this huge update and then go into like controllers or PlayStation. So, I hope that helps, but like you just kind of playing and then you're looking and seeing what works and what
out what works right now. Very interesting. Okay, let's kind of pivot a little bit and talk about your your wife and how she helps you with this stuff cuz I do think that is also a very unique thing. Um
that she kind of does in this role that helps you a lot cuz I know you she helps the I do content, she does everything else. No, I'm just kidding. But she does a lot. So, we were going into 2024,
I think, and so I left my job in 2024, she left her job after the 2024 school year. She was a counselor, just got her position, just got her master's degree, and then all of a sudden, you know, we're making money on this and I wanted
figure out, okay, what can you take off of me that, you know, you can do while we can still be in the content. We treat this like a company, like a business. Fortunately for me, I'm in the tech space and tech keeps
it revamps like every quarter. You're getting new power banks. So, the first thing in my mind was like, we need to open up an eBay store. We open up the eBay store for every second every extra product. So, if they're sending me
extras, it goes straight to eBay. I'll do the review on it, it'll be open box. She runs that whole thing. Every night because China's up at night, we talk to all of our reps, she talks to them on WhatsApp, she talks to them on
the back end of TikTok, and then she works out some brand deals for me as well and retainer deals now. So, I mean, she also is if you wanted to label her like how we are labeled in the company, she's the CFO. She takes care
of our financials and make sure that, you know, I'm bringing in what I need to goals, and then our money is making money for us cuz that was really nothing, I just wanted to like, man, I can't wait for my money to make money
Um and she handles that. She's actually she's so much smarter than I am and I talk to a lot of the people she can talk to cuz I'm very like, give me what you want, what you need, and how I can do it. She can like write all that down and
expand it a lot better than what I can. I like making content. I don't like I'm kind of the same way. I hate I hate getting on like these calls with these getting on like these calls with these random companies, but um Okay, so
let's dive a little bit into that. How does she manage that? Like, and how would you recommend somebody who is looking to do that kind of process? Like, maybe they their spouse doesn't want to do it or maybe can't maybe they
they're like, hey, I want to like have somebody that can kind of manage brand deals or or work that kind of side of the house. What do you think the the main kind of tasks are that she would do?
Yeah, so I mean, I think for I hate has to be someone in the family, especially I mean, for TikTok because you're getting someone access to TikTok. TikTok doesn't have a sub account yet. So it's like if if someone if she has my
they're going to get a WhatsApp link, you can't click on that WhatsApp link account. So they have to be very mind savvy is like and also be in do this? What are we working with? Her whole goal in 2024 was to get me
anything that had batteries in it. Um that goal shifts a lot cuz TikTok introduced to G&B Max. So now it's like, okay, what can we use for the kitchen that we're actually going to use? I like to do my content based on what I have,
not what I'm just going to sell. I always tell people I am a teller, so I people on things. Here's the feature bullet list, I'm not going to hard sell you. So she knows that. So she we have to have like a game plan and that's her
getting products that align to what I can do, what my audience is already scrolling through. Oh, there's Mount tech product. And then also she knows She likes something like the bug zapper. I thought the bug zapper was going to be
horrible. I was like, why why'd you get a bug zapper? There's no battery in it. It was crazy. So they also have to kind of know you know, like hey, I've seen this one sell
you're also she's searching in the back end so much. Now if you're just training a stranger, the best thing that she can do that you know, someone that you're trying to get into the business, they can help on growing your platform on you
know, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LTK because they all offer affiliate post a video goes straight to your Google Drive using a repurpose and they can use that video and just use it for every single every single
platform. And that's the big picture ideas. Like I just don't want to rely on Tik Tok. And if you have someone that aligns I if it's your spouse, you have conversations. I I don't understand financial so much. She does, you know,
how much we need to make and I'm going to hit that number. She's like, well, daughter cuz I'm going to just bust these out. So you know, that's what content. >> What do you recommend to somebody who's
maybe making some money on Tik Tok shop and goes hey, I want to diversify? Keep your analytics. You know, analytics are huge for for other companies. Like also I I'm maybe one of the only ones I agree with the vertical. Like find what you
like to do, what you want to do. I don't chase we talk we don't I don't chase money. I chase products like that I want. But if I tell my friends who want to join the space who who are very into outdoor. Oh, if you like outdoor, that
can be your whole like life. And so I think it's first off that would be the first step. Pick what you want to do because brands like to know, hey, what Perfect. This is great for wine. That means a supplement brand would never
want to do a supplement? Unless actually a gaming supplement brand. They're like, yeah, I guess it would be great. So I mean I I think that's the most important thing. And then, you know, I do every two pieces of original content a day.
I suggest like you're not just an affiliate, that you are also a person who's talking and making an audience want to come back to you. Because brands like that than just you selling something every single video. I think
that's also the hardest part for being an affiliate is because a lot of people don't want to do that. Do I I don't know what to do original content on. Um I think Tik Tok's slowly changing that where the vertical where we will be
doing more of like, "Hey, you're getting a bump to be in this vertical and then you're going to stay in it." So, you can utilize the original content. Even if least you can set show a brand, "Hey, this is my numbers for how much money
I've brought in for products and here are my analytics for how many views I've gotten on original content." Cuz brands have never asked me, I've worked with a lot now. They've never asked me how much I've made on as on the affiliate side.
original content side. Very interesting. I think it's definitely like it's like a give and a take. Like you can Hey, how how much do you want to be like favorable for or look good for brands in the future? Like, "Hey, how long how
think going the creator world, like kind of content creator side more, um is going to get you those brand deals and that long-term longevity. And kind products here and there is going to get you that like big bucks right now, but
from now? I think there's like different methods and I think that the long-term verticalize in some way down the road like long-term." Tell me about the the
phrase this, like this. Like, where did that come up and how do you think that's helped you throughout your process and what's like the strategy behind that? It's like He's like Lush used it one time and now
it's like everybody I saw War Paint. When I go was cooked when it was when does Like you're Uh so I there was this 90s football game. It was probably one of the 2K
games. It was probably before that. Um and this coach or play caller would say this play and it would be this and it was very and it stuck with me for so long and I it I don't know and like you know when you accidentally steal
I accidentally stole that in 2021 and then I was like you know I would just start every video like this. And it just stuck and now it's like it's become my Everybody's saying it's become a you know a ton I love it. I don't ever feel
topping. I think that's the most important thing you can do in this important thing you can do in this space. Um you know on not line for line but you know like other but I love I I used that and it was crazy because in my
products. How would I do these? So then I would do these and it would just like evolve with that and you know so it was super simple and it just stuck in my head as a like a 90s game. So yeah it's it came from literally just that
later I get to use it so it's cool. That is cool. I was about to say I I I remember I caught myself doing it on a video and I was using the rasp in my voice just like you did and I go why did I do that? Like I caught myself doing
exactly your voice. I was like what did I just do? I've been studying you too No I love that. I I really do love when people use it too. I think it's cool cuz to my whole script cuz it's so ad-libbed by it but you can use this and it's like
super easy and for some reason it works. I don't know why. There's like a there's there's something to repeatable making something door with stuff sometimes cuz there's sometimes so many people get
where you just sit there and you you're like what do I say? What do I do? And you're sitting there just trying to ideate for ideas constantly that you end up getting nothing done. And for people like you, you have this
like image, this brand, and this like identity that like you can always revert back to. And I find that very valuable for people who are like, "Hey, I just stops you from getting your 40 posts done in a day because it's like worst
case, you can just always go back to that." Like and it'll work. Um Yeah. I think that's pretty cool. Let's dive into like your background, your history like growing up, if that's okay with you. Yeah, let's do it. Um what was I
guess what was life like for you back when you were growing up versus like what it is today? Like how different or is it similar? Like what's that look No, it's it's I mean my life growing up I was an only child. We found out when I
was 13 that my mom and my uncle both had retinitis pigmentosa, which basically the same time. So it's a progressive disease that, you know, as you're as you get older, you get more tunnel vision and you lose your
hearing with Usher syndrome. So, you know, it was just kind of like everything in and you become more of a lone person. And I think, you know, that kind of helped in the regard of like just kind
of learning and taking a lot of things in. I was super into tech then. An only child who, you know, would save up his money to get stuff. We weren't We didn't have a lot of money. So, you know, it might I never really understood
like, "Wow, things are so expensive." Until you get out into the real world, you turn 18. There was My family's not a family that talk about college. I I couldn't tell you right now. I think it's freshman and that's all I know.
would just We never talk about it. And my wife, you know, she's super educated. master's degree. I'm like, "Man." And then she would she would joke like, kind of" I said, "Yeah, but I did it in my 30s, you know, this was nothing that
I got to." So, I I think that, you know, not having a lot of structure was basically in my family was like, "Hey, find an 8-5 and that's your job and that will be your source of income. So, it took my brain a lot of change, you know,
going into my 20s to even learn that I don't I don't even have to do an 8:00 to work from 5:00 to 10:00 and keep growing with things. And I I didn't have a marketing degree. So, I knew I loved marketing. I loved making graphics. Uh I
started working with a real estate agents around my 26th year and just I was like, "I can do this super easy." I was doing it for free to build up my portfolio. Uh that portfolio helped me land my job at Sefedo, giving me my
first step into like a business role. And I was like, "This is something I've no little college degree, they took me in, you know, at at a really low salary, but I grew from that 30,000 that they started me at all the way up to 100,000
by the time I left. And you know, there was something about well, I get to Like it's been like, you know, I think with stuff. And we didn't have a lot, so you're just, you know, making up stuff.
Um and I think that's helped to the do this. My life is totally different now. My family has a little strife because they don't understand my life as well. So, it's kind of like they really loved when I was not
staying the same, staying consistent. Um and now it's more like, you know, when Chinese brands?" I said, "Well, you know, everything in your house is a you can turn over anything." And they but they didn't understand. Now, they're
a little bit more supportive, but I had to kind of I had to leave family and move a couple hours away just because it was uh it's just different different from what they saw in life. And, you know, so I think it's helped me because
my my wife's family is totally different, a bunch of entrepreneurs. And family, I was like, "Wow, you can do multiple things." And I just I think you really are what you're around. And if you're around, you know, a bunch of
people that just kind of they're steady, they wanted to stay steady. outside perspective and I think I'm super grateful and I still I love my family. I'd do anything for them, but it is also nice to get a breath of fresh
air on something else and be like, "Wow, I can do more than what was thought of." I think you know, my life's different now. I mean TikTok literally TikTok Shop now. I mean TikTok literally TikTok Shop paid for the house we're in right now.
And it it's changed my life completely. So my background is you know, yeah, it was not the best. You know, my mom's almost flying now. So but she got that's amazing. But you know, to get to do this and to
also I get so many products. I get to take a car load home with them and they they're not saying it's Chinese anymore. That's for sure. It's like and now now it's like Sharky Ninja off yeah, you know, they're made in China. There you
know, they're made in China. There you go. That's so funny. But I I just I'm so blessed to get to do this. This is it's amazing opportunity. I like it. That's with like, you know, when when you're somebody who does things very
differently than a majority of your family like family to start doing this kind of stuff and like trying to do completely opposite of everything else too and it's like, "Hey, you should go to college."
military." Like like how do I pivot away from everything else? And I feel like I pivot, you be you find a new path and that you're you kind of paved this new way for other people if they want to come. Like and just happened to be that
journey too. But I think it's really good to actually be able to pivot, you know. If you were to start over from zero and do this all over again and it was 2026
and you said, "Hey, it's 2026 and I need to, you know, do content in some way, shape, form, or fashion." What would you do and how would you do that? Yeah, well, I mean are we talking going into TikTok Shop? Like in my mind is to be an
affiliate? If TikTok Shop or not, what do what do you think? Yeah, I going into 2026 is if I was to start, I would still find something I'm naturally talk about. I've always thought as content is like being on a
FaceTime phone call with a friend. I want to be excited about it when I'm pull out a supplement, pretend I'm taking it for the last 6 months to sell something. I just feel like, yeah, you know, but I just got this supplement and
works great. Never could be me. Uh you know, with tech it's super simple. I think with anything inside of like content creation, a lot of content creation is, you know, you're telling a story. And you know, that I think that's
start now, it'd probably be of like talking about tech and gaming. I think inside of every single world, I was just looking at there's this Shark Ninja subreddit and they talk about like products that are coming out. So, if you
were a home person, you're like, wow, I love you could literally do news content that. Here's the one thing I've learned, this generation does not like to read, to watch videos of you reading from the back the green screen in the back.
Really weird, but you know, they love that. So, if you can be that voice to an building your platform on something you're excited about. And I think that's the key is like I I was excited about the PlayStation 5. I started it. Guess
what's coming up next? The PlayStation 6. So, I can already start talking about that and growing a platform. If I was to do that into TikTok Shop obviously a lot of people see it, it would be the same thing. I'm just
growing what I'm passionate about and turning that into TikTok Shop once I'm eligible. That way it doesn't throw my audience off, too. I mean, I just think that, you know, you're building something more than just TikTok Shop.
that's something I've thought about, too. I'm like, worst case, if you have nothing that you think you could make content around is a certain niche, you could always revert back to just making news-related content like green screen
news related content around something that you you like. like for me I'm in the military. I could be like, "Hey, this is news on the read news articles." Like and then you have endless amounts of content you can
post and you get to just hit that 5,000 followers pretty quickly I would say. shop or or like, "Hey, now that I've been making content around the military just like now I'm posting products related to like military gear or
there now is my that's my niche because I've always had a passion for it. Um I very good way to kind of um find that niche, too. So. Yeah. Well, it's true. I like not non-affiliates, they're all these news people. They're like, "Wow,
this guy." And you're like, "Hold on, I'm getting news from a second-hand just go to Wall Street Journal?" No, you'd rather just watch that. You're like, "All right, I got my news for the day." That's funny. Yeah, they it's a
new world media as they say, right? What do you think is the number one thing that beginners focus on that you think doesn't matter on TikTok shop used to say quality. I'd be like, "Oh, quality doesn't matter so much. Just,
front of the camera." I think it's shifting now. I really think quality is starting to matter more. Uh quality videos just convert better. B-roll footage converts better. I think that does it. I mean,
it's crazy. It's changed so much. I mean, I don't know what is not matter. I I would say if I can go on the reverse, what does matter is more research. You have to research. You have to look at the top affiliates. What are they doing?
and it's just kind of learning. Yeah, it's different. I mean, what doesn't matter? That's that's hard. That's a hard one. I I can't even think of what doesn't matter anymore. Yeah, I mean, it's kind of a hard question
because it's like kind of everything does matter to a degree and some people more than others. Like some people some people it matters for searching, right? Like, for you, search like, the search platform is so important for you. Um
whereas for me, that's like, I could care less about the search. Uh and, you know, it just depends. So, I mean, yeah. And I think I think the most Or actually, I'm interested to know your thoughts.
What do you think is the most important aspect for TikTok Shop like in doing this? It's I think it's actually having personality. I have seen a lot of people through failing. I If you go back, go back to my 2020 videos, no personality,
mundane as heck. Uh the product got me followers, not me. And so, you can build personality. I'm I'm an introvert by heart, you know, but that's something that you have to build. You have to have a connection. Why are so many people
watching Lush? I mean, is it the long hair? Is it the hat? Is it the shop? end of the day, it's kind of And because he's built a personality Lush figure, you're like, "Oh, there's Lush."
are so many affiliates right now and I've, you know, the when I was training people, you could tell it's like, "Hey, but it's very stagnant. You're very monotone. Like, you have to at least add some excitement for this."
Um and, you know, you And that means that you do have to study. What's little bit better than this pitch? I mean, you see it in Ti- in TikTok Shop it with these questions. You know, this is a water ball?
So, I I It's just studying. I don't do that. Uh try not to. You know, you get caught up in that sometimes, but I think that's it. I mean, you just really have to have personality. 100% I agree. I
think I think having personality shows authenticity and authenticity builds trust is what I noticed. And I feel like trust is like that That's like the the trust, no one's going to buy from you. Like, that's like, if I saw a scam ad
definitely obviously trying to scam me, Then I'm like, I'm not going to buy this thing. Whereas like if I trust the person behind the phone screen that's selling me this product, like I'm way more likely to purchase it if I truly
believe that they're being honest with me. That's why I believe that talking product is actually a very valuable thing because it builds the trust. I sales were skyrocketing because I was like, "Hey, I would start
product." I'd be like, "Hey, this thing this part of the the thing right here, then I would go into the the positives about it. And then I'd be like, "That's to buy it, you can. That's everything I know about this thing. This is how I
skyrocket because if it was a good product, it would sell. And I thought like, "Oh, I'll just be authentic. Be real." You know? it's a testament to you. Like that converts. For me, it's hard to do that
cuz I'm very feature-based. Like Yeah. So, and that's the cool thing is like there's no wrong way to do what we did. There's always a different way. Like and it changes. Like I was I hated skits in 2020 first. I was like, "This is stupid.
But I'm going to be honest, you know, if I'm out with another affiliate, like Garrett, I it's so easy to do. "Hey, what's that?" This is this blah blah blah. And it's like, "Wow, these take 30 seconds to do. Amazing." So, I
understand, but it just it really did irritate me for a while. Yeah, and it sometimes cuz you're just like, "Oh, let's Oh, this is funny. Let's do this. point at Mountain Dew t-shirts and stuff.
Yeah, trust me. I was crazy. Yeah. All right, man. Last and final question for you. So, if you were to leave everybody that's watching with one last the most important thing when it comes
to doing content, TikTok Shop, what would that one most important thing be? I think that everybody sees the top affiliates as succeeding all the time affiliates as succeeding all the time when I see us failing 95% of the time. I
think it's really important to know that my 5% success carries me and my 95% success does not really do anything mentally cuz I already know. It's like if this video takes off, if one of these videos take off, I'm happy. And I also
everybody you do for the day, you can get lucky, but usually every video you do for the day does not mean anything. A lot of my videos that go viral are from lot of my videos that go viral are from last month or I had I had a video just 2
days ago and I was showing everybody is like from 2023 hitting 20,000 views and selling products. From 2023. If you can build up enough backlog, that should carry you enough throughout this. And then you're not worried about the day,
you're worried about the bigger picture. You're like, I made content, I can take everybody I need to be with instead of checking my numbers. I think it's a hard think that if you're looking at the bigger picture, that it's just something
that you have to think about. Like you have to think that wow, I'm building a content log of commercials, of hours, that can always be playing. And then you never know when that brand's like, hey, this person reviewed this plug. We
let's put GMB mass behind it, let's put ad spin behind it. And I think it's important. I think the mental game of failing 95% of the time sucks because team, you'd be the worst basketball team, you'd be everything would be
TikTok shop it's just true. You're failing a lot and you can look at some like, oh wow, this video didn't push. This video didn't push. But then the one that did is carrying them. And you know, and then that turns into a queue of
carrying it in. But you know, when we're posting content, we are to we're we are And the algorithm has a lot of people to push, so I think that's the been the biggest adjustment is I know that this everything is is backlogged for me. Most
today. They're going viral for tomorrow. I really like it. Well, thanks, man. I really appreciate it. Um so happy that we got to do this, finally. after Yeah. forever, but um this has been super fun. And yeah, man, I really appreciate it.
