[00:39] Guys, I hate this anime. I hate this anime so much. I don't mean as in, like, I hate it because it's bad. I hate it because it's too good. Like, what do you mean they're going to drop me a trailer like this,
[00:53] and you're going to make me have to wait another, like, 20 to 30 hours until I could see the actual episode. Like, oh my goodness, the wait is pain. It is pure pain that I am experiencing,
[01:06] because this series is so good. These episodes have been so good. And actually, I want to show you something funny. So we're posted this. It's like, what do you mean that we had, in the exact same way, the two most popular isekais
[01:18] are having, like, their meeting of each other's moments. Like, we have, like, Natsuki Subaru meeting Natsuki Subaru, and then we have, like, Rudy meeting Old Man Rudy. Like, what do you mean within one week we have these two iconic and very important episodes to the plot dropping the same week?
[01:35] It's like, there's no way that this could be a coincidence, right? There's just, there's no way something like this just happens. But somehow it does line up And I have to wonder and from a production standpoint if this was planned by one of the teams either the ReZero team or the Mushroom Sensei team
[01:53] because it just feels weird for these two very big, important moments to just be side by side. It feels just way too convenient for something like that to happen. But back to the main point, though,
[02:05] this PV trailer harbors a lot of symbolism that I want to get right into. So I don't know how many people noticed this. It can easily just fly right over your head. But we have Rudy's younger voice being played in this PD, which is being used in narration.
[02:23] Like, I want you to look at the perspective of how this, you know, this trailer is presented. It is old man Rudy recounting and talking about his life to our current Rudy. He talks about it, and the voice that is narrating it is our young main character Rudy.
[02:36] Not his Japan self, not his Japanese voice from right Japan, but his current self within the world of Mushikotensei. And I feel like this is very intentional for a very few reasons. It showcases that this Rudy here, this old man Rudy, he wishes he could go back to those times that he was younger and more naive or had a better and happier life.
[02:56] It is very interesting. Like, he yearns for that better life he once had. The narration is clearly intentional. And I just, I love how it's been replaced. Like, the narration here was replaced. Like, we didn't have the old man voice anymore, like the old Rudy voice from Japan.
[03:12] We actually have the main voice actor. I think that is super cool, and it showcases that with the passage of time, the narration of the dinner voice will shift into that as he gets older and older. Just some really nice little nods, honestly, to the narrative.
[03:26] But I do want to talk about the design, okay? So one of the biggest complaints a lot of people had with the last episode of Mushu Kutensei was Old Man Rudy design He looked very weak very ill He didn look like a giga like a badass that people thought he was going to be from the light novel illustration
[03:44] And I'm just going to tell you, looking at his depiction within this PV trailer, he looks way more badass than his final scene he had in the last episode. Now, it doesn't mean that what I said in my last review is not, you know, good.
[04:00] For instance, as I said, that old man Rudy, he's not meant to be a badass. He's not meant to come off as this badass mage, strong and powerful. He's at his worst. He is basically someone that has been ran over by life over and over and over again.
[04:15] He is not in a good mental state. And I think that this PV trailer really showcases that. Like, the day he lost everything, you say that he can't, like, he remembers it even now, the laughter as he opened the door.
[04:27] And I think that right here, this indicates what the main, like, point of his break actually happened. And I feel like, I guess I should talk about this. It kind of extends from the content that we got in, you know, the previous episode.
[04:42] So, as you recall, the man-god told Rudy to open up the basement door, go down there, check and see if there's anything going on, anything suspicious. and obviously as our current Rudy was going to do what the man God said because obviously you know he hasn't you know turned him wrong anywhere at all he's trying to help him in his own way
[04:58] obviously we know that's definitely lies now but basically as he was going to open the door old man Rudy appears from the future back into the past to our current day and if I don't open the door he forcefully shuts it with his magic and that's basically it and so we can assume
[05:13] The reason why he saying this the feeling I had when I opened that door his laughter we can assume the laughter is most likely either something within the basement that he going to discover or it the man
[05:26] himself. It's one or the other. We don't know exactly, but we do know that this old man Rudy harbors a lot of animosity, a lot of hatred and anger towards the man-god. I mean, his very introduction, when Rudy name-dropped, like, are you the man-god, and he saw his
[05:41] bloodshot eyes and anger as he shut the door, I think really indicates that what he's probably talking about is the man god. It could be someone else, but we can assume that. Now, I do want to also point out, though, that it looks like we're going to be getting quite a
[05:54] bit of a backstory, some flashbacks and stuff. Actually, would it be counted as a flashback, or would it be counted as a flash forward? Because obviously what we're going to be seeing is events that are yet to come. I don't really know what the label is, but
[06:06] the point here is, is that we're going to be seeing basically whatever this Rudy has experienced in his life, and to stop our current day Rudy from traveling that exact same path, what has happened, and I think that's really cool, and I'm going
[06:19] to tell you guys, I'm excited to see how this goes, because this is where the main plot begins. I talked about this, but the main story of Mushka Sensei has finally begun with this upcoming episode, well, technically the end of last episode, but now we're finally here,
[06:33] like, every event up to this very point has built to this very moment, to where the full main plot is finally underway. That is what's going on now. and I cannot wait, man, like, this is looking to be just such a godly episode, and I just,
[06:48] dude, I can't wait, man, I legitimately can't wait, anyways, I just, I pretty blue I'm talking about this, because my excitement for this upcoming episode is through the roof, I love the little nods of symbolic nature with, like, the voice acting and stuff, just, yeah, I'll
