## Summary

This video explains how to find profitable sports bets using positive expected value (+EV) betting. The host demonstrates how to use the OddsJam software to scan multiple sportsbooks for pricing inefficiencies, filter plays by odds range, and manage bankroll effectively. The core message is that you don't need to predict games perfectly; you just need to consistently find value against the market.

### Key Points

- **Finding an Edge** [00:16] — You don't need to predict games to win long-term; you need to find an edge and value in the slate.
- **Positive Expected Value Defined** [00:32] — Positive EV means the odds you're getting are better than they should be. Example: a coin landing heads 55% of the time offers an edge.
- **Example of Value** [01:15] — Dodgers at -140 across books but -110 on DraftKings is a 30-cent difference, representing value.
- **Manual Comparison is Impossible** [01:41] — Manually comparing every sportsbook, knowing true odds, and tracking line movement is nearly impossible; software like OddsJam automates this.
- **Using OddsJam** [02:21] — OddsJam scans hundreds of sportsbooks to find the best value. You can filter by the sportsbooks you have access to.
- **EV Percentage Explained** [02:49] — EV percentage shows how much better a bet's payout is compared to its true probability. Example: Gabriel Moreno home run at +1000 vs average +676 gives a 10.97% edge.
- **Filtering for Beginners** [04:09] — Set minimum and maximum odds (e.g., -200 to +200) to avoid extreme odds and reduce variance.
- **Example: Tigers First 3 Innings** [05:07] — Detroit Tigers first 3 innings run line at +135 on MGM vs +102 on DraftKings gives an 8.55% edge.
- **Example: Drake Baldwin Prop** [05:20] — Drake Baldwin over half a single at -115 on MGM vs -170 on FanDuel (sharp book) shows incredible value.
- **Betting Styles** [06:47] — You can be a long-shot bettor (high odds, low hit rate) or a conservative bettor (lower odds, higher hit rate).
- **Start Conservative** [07:26] — Recommend starting conservative to stack wins and understand the math before being aggressive.
- **Bankroll Management** [07:51] — OddsJam recommends bet sizes based on bankroll, EV, and odds. Example: +1050 odds suggests $5 bet, -150 odds suggests $50.
- **Key Takeaway** [08:56] — You don't need to be a sports expert; you need to consistently get good value against the market.
- **95% of Bettors Lose** [09:35] — 95% of sports bettors lose long-term because they think they know ball; +EV betting offers an edge.

### Conclusion

Positive EV betting is a systematic approach to sports betting that focuses on finding value rather than predicting outcomes. By using tools like OddsJam, bettors can identify pricing inefficiencies and manage their bankroll effectively, giving them a mathematical edge over the sportsbooks.

games, looking at trends, stats, and match-ups, I'm about to save you a ton of time while also making you a sharper, smarter sports better. When it comes to sports betting, the reality is you don't need to be predicting games to win
long-term. You simply need to find an edge and find value in the slate. And in exactly how I find profitable bets in under 5 minutes a day, and we're going to go through this step-by-step. Now, finding profitable bets all correlates
to what we call positive expected value. And all that positive expected value, or plus EV, means is that the odds you're getting are better than what they should be. If you flip a coin, there's a 50/50 chance that that coin lands on heads or
tails. So, if you flip the coin 100 times, you have no edge if you were to bet heads every time or tails every time. But if I told you that I have a coin where it's going to land on heads 55% of the time and 45% of the time it's
going to land on tails, you would absolutely love to consistently place bets on that coin landing on heads. Now, here's an example in the sports betting world. Let's say the Dodgers are set at minus 140 across all major sportsbooks,
but DraftKings is sitting here with the Dodgers price at minus 110. Now, that's a 30-cent difference between the market consensus and DraftKings, so that's a whole lot of value that can be found on DraftKings for the Dodgers moneyline.
And when you find value like that over hundreds and thousands of bets, that's where the true value comes in. You don't need to be right all the time to be a profitable sports better, but you do need to get good numbers. Now, here's
positive EV betting. If you wanted to find all these plus EV bets on your own, you're going to need to manually compare every sportsbook, know what the true odds of a prop should be, and track line movement in real time. That's basically
impossible to do efficiently on your own, and that's why most people never take the time to bet with an edge. However, luckily for us, there's softwares that do all the work for you, so you can narrow down this process to 5
minutes. Now, let's quickly take a look at the strategies I like to use when positive EV betting and give you an insight to what this process looks like. So, we've opened up Odds Jam. We are on their positive EV tool, and as I
mentioned, this is a software that can do all the work for us. Odds Jam is going to scan hundreds of sportsbooks to find the best possible value. The first input the sportsbooks that you have access to, so you can filter to only see
bets on the books that you have. Once you do that, you can show results, and we can see this screen here popping up with a ton of EV plays. Now, what the first and most important thing to
look at is EV percentage, and what exactly does this mean? So, let's break it down with how Odds Jam defines it. Expected value, how much better a bet's payout is compared to its true probability. Now, this does not
guarantee that a bet is going to win or lose, just like Gabriel Moreno to hit a home run is at plus 1,000. It's rather unlikely that he does hit a home run, but when we click into this one, we can see MGM is offering plus 1,000 odds when
see MGM is offering plus 1,000 odds when the average odds are plus 676, which is giving you a massive advantage taking this on MGM in terms of value. Now, again, this is an unlikely prop to hit. Moreno doesn't hit many home runs, but
if you were taking a true positive EV approach, you're gaining a 10.97% edge by taking this on MGM, and if you take enough plays like these over hundreds and thousands of bets, the math will play out in your favor so that you
profit long term. Now, when it comes to positive EV betting, it can be a little overwhelming when you first start out. There are hundreds and hundreds of plays that will pop up throughout the day, and there are some positive EV bettors that
will take every single one of these plays knowing the math is going to work if you're somebody who's just starting this video to, what I would recommend is to switch a couple of your filters. To
make it a bit easier on you, what you can do is set minimum and maximum odds. So, we can say minimum odds minus 200, so we're not getting into the minus 700 plays that are very juicy and not as profitable, and you can go maximum plus
200. You could also set this to minus 150 plus 150. It's all about your risk looking for. When we do this, we're still going to see a lot of plays, but we're going to filter out the plus 1000s, the minus 1000s that take a lot
more variance to play out over time. These plays in this odds range are going to keep things a bit more reasonable when starting out. So, now you can take here Detroit Tigers first three innings run line. They're minus 0.5 at plus 135
on MGM, where they're plus 100 plus 102 on DraftKings and FanDuel, and plus 110 for the average odds. So, we're getting essentially, compared to DraftKings, a 35 cent difference in our favor by taking this on MGM. That would give us
an 8.55% edge over the market by taking this play. Now, if you wanted to go a bit safer and try to find out a play that has great value that is also favored to win, we could look at this Drake Baldwin
over half a single, where it is favored at minus 115 on MGM. And when we take a look at the market, we can see that this gets all the way up to minus 170 on FanDuel. Now, FanDuel is a sharp player prop book. They take some of the highest
That means they're more confident in their lines, they're willing to take more money on it. When they're setting a line at minus 170, and we can get minus line at minus 170, and we can get minus 115 value, that is incredible value for
us to capitalize on. And you wouldn't naturally know that MGM had a very poor or very beatable line on this Drake Baldwin over half a single prop if you market and identify these pricing inefficiencies for you. So this would be
a great play to take. You're knowing you're getting minus 115 when a sharp player prop book is offering this at minus 170 and average odds are still all the way up at minus 151. So even if you thought that FanDuel maybe mispriced
this line a little bit, put it too juicy, too much of a heavy favorite, we can still look at average odds being at minus 151 and knowing market consensus sits in the minus 150s when MGM has left this line at minus 150. Now that's
exactly how positive EV works. As you can see, we're finding lines that are access to compared to the market consensus. The next step for you to figure out is what type of a positive EV better you want to be. You could be
somebody who likes the long shots, likes the plus thousand plays where you're getting three 400 cents worth of value on all of those knowing you're going to have a lower hit rate, but when you do hit, it's going to be for a lot of
money. Or you could be somebody who wants to filter it down a bit, go to our plus 200 minus 200 odds range or something even more conservative, maybe plus 110 to minus 150 where you're not going to get as many plays, but you're
going to get plays that are more favorable for you to hit and in the long run still give you a mathematical edge to beat the books. Now everyone has a different style. How I would recommend starting your positive EV betting
journey is to play it a bit more conservative at the beginning. Stack up some wins, get a sense for how the math can match up long term, and then when you're ready to truly attack volume, you can be a bit more aggressive, take some
longer shot plays, and the beauty of that and the beauty of what the OddJam software does, is it's going to tell you, based off of your bankroll, what your recommended bet size should be. So, if I take out these filters, and we we
clear these filters so that we can have our plus 1,000 plays, you can see here, our plus 1,000 plays, you can see here, on a play that's plus 1,050 odds, my recommended bet size is only going to be $5. Compared to a play where we have
minus 150 odds, recommended bet size goes up to $50. So, OddJam is going to tell you, based off of your bankroll, based off of the positive expected value on a play, and based off of the odds, how much of your bankroll you should
allocate into that individual play. This prevents you from guessing on how much you should put on a plus 1,000 play versus a minus 150 play, which if you're not using a calculator, if you don't truly understand the sportsbooks odds
and probabilities, you're going to be left feeling hopeless with how much you should allocate on each one of these positive EV this was really just to show you guys what positive EV bets look like, how you
can use a software to scan the market to help you practice bankroll management, and ultimately help you profit long-term without doing hours upon hours of research to find your plays. Now, if you take one thing from this video, let it
be this: You don't need to be a sports expert to win. You just need to consistently get good value against the market. Tools like OddJam can help make that process fast, simple, and repeatable every single day. And if you
start positive EV betting daily, you're already putting yourself in a position that most sports bettors will never reach. If you want to try this out for yourself, I recommend opening up the OddJam positive EV tool, running through
this exact process that we went through in this video once, and immediately you'll see how different this process is compared to how most people bet. One important thing to remember is 95% of sports bettors lose long-term. And with
that, 95% of sports bettors think they can profit while sports betting simply because they study stats, they watch games, and they think they know ball. Now, positive EV betting can be a little overwhelming when you first start out.
So, make sure you take your time to learn the tools, study the market, and understand the probability that you're gaining through a positive EV edge. As you get more reps in as a positive EV better, your confidence will go up,
you'll get more comfortable, and you'll see your edge explode. And of course, if tutorials and positive EV strategy videos, check our page as we have a ton videos, check our page as we have a ton of helpful resources for you.
