## Summary

The video is a humorous review of the final anime from the Happy Science cult, following the death of its leader. The creator mocks the film's plot, propaganda, and the cult's absurdity, while also promoting a mobile game.

### Key Points

- **Cult Leader's Death** [00:02] — The creator jokes about the death of Happy Science leader Ryuho Okawa, noting the absurdity of his 'spiritual sleep' status.
- **Film's Mundane Opening** [03:22] — The film's opening is described as mundane, resembling a tourism ad for Tokushima, Japan.
- **Bizarre Plot Elements** [18:43] — The plot involves a rescue mission, a giant snake, and repeated dragon flights, culminating in a visit to Shambhala.
- **Religious Propaganda and Conclusion** [23:17] — The film ends with characters being recruited to spread Happy Science's teachings, and the creator notes the film is surprisingly tame compared to previous entries.

## Transcript

Man, I really thought I was done roasting happy science anime after their leader, you know, died. I put R.I.P. Bozo on a thumbnail and everything. But then, somehow, El Contare returned.
I really shouldn't be surprised, though. I mean, Stan Lee helped write their last movie three years after he died, and officially, Ryuho Okawa's not even dead, just in a spiritual slumber from which he's prophesied to awaken
when the time is right and enough millions of dollars have been donated, which I'll admit I was a little skeptical about, but, I mean, dead guys don't write and produce movies, so tiger, it's true.
Or the young girl college had been puppeting the old man's corpse around like... Huh? He just wrote it before he died and it's been in production for five years?
Well, that's no fun. Still, they haven't admitted he's dead on their website yet, so we can still hold out hope for a true weekend at Bernie's Sitch with the next movie. And if they don't do any more, they've still got those live-action movies I can milk for content.
You know, he made two different biopics about himself two years in a row. As for this movie, I'm excited to say it's finally taken us back to the setting of the funniest happy science movie, Hell from the Laws of Eternity.
Ha ha ha! God is dead! God is dead! Oh my El Contare! Nietzsche's was doing a foreshadowing all along. That said, if you do want to be whisked away to a magical anime world,
I sadly cannot recommend Happy Science Hell. The Blood Orgy Pond is always overbooked. The line for Hitler's Elephant is just way too long. And the rest of the rides all kind of blow.
So instead, you should choose today's video partner, Isekai Slow Life. As the title suggests, Isekai Slow Life is a cozy, laid-back mobile game in which you find yourself reborn as a walking mushroom man
who then becomes the mayor of a small town for some reason, which is, of course, full of many fine fantasy waifus. But now you can add the finest, most fantastic waifu of them all to your growing little medieval hamlet.
Best Girl Inosuke Hashibira from Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba. Also, they got Kenpachiro and some of the other guys in there, but mainly Inosuke. The game was clearly made for him.
I mean, his name is even in the title as far as he knows. But what do all these demon slayers bring to Inosuke's slow life besides their fine selves? Well, there's a whole new infinite castle dungeon to raid,
using their various breathing techniques to gain an edge in the game's thrilling match-free combat, for starters. And clearing that unlocks all sorts of slick rewards, like items to upgrade your units and towns, special CGs, dynamic avatars, emojis, artifacts, and a special exhibit.
But the best part is just having your favorite Demon Slayers walking around in the town you built. Isekai Slow Life is all about that slow life, after all. A relaxing, creative game for when you just need a couple minutes of downtime in another world to recharge.
To try it for yourself, just click my link in the doobly-doo or scan my QR code to download the game, and don't forget to use the promo code DEMONSLAYER when you do. The first 15 minutes of the film are surprisingly normal,
pretty much indistinguishable from a tourism ad for Tokushima, where the movie's set, which I actually really f*** with, because Shukoku's my favorite island in Japan. It's also where Belle by Mamoru Hosoda is set, fun fact, in the neighboring town of Koshu,
which we did a whole podcast about with Dan Olsen over on Quest for the Best. Please watch it. It's a good podcast. Anyway, point is, if Ryuho Okawa wants to spend 15 minutes worth of cult movie money sending tourists to my favorite place.
Maybe I am upset about that, actually. But I'm more than happy to see this scenery animated, get a perfunctory overview of local attractions, listen to a song about what they call their rivers and mountains,
and so on. You know, typical infomercial stuff
with a little bit of actual movie stuff mixed in. Huh? What is that? What is that? What is that? What the? So that's the cousin of the guy who's the main guy in the movie.
His name's Ryusuke because, of course, it's f***ing his and he's staying the summer with his aunt and uncle in Tokushima because that's where they got good mountains and he likes mountains but his mountain climbing club back in Tokyo Middle School
all bitched out of their last big trip of the year so he's going to go climb some different mountains alone now or possibly with his cousin. I rate their chances of f***ing by the end at like a 2. The vibe is like a 7, but the cult's pretty Mormon-y, so that's as far as it's gonna go, probably.
During the River Nansong, they go hiking to a bridge together, so they can yell a mountain name at that mountain. Oh, Co-Son! Huh? Then Cousin Chan thinks she's seen another dead people, but it turns out it's a Kappa,
which Ryusuke can also see, so he chases it and she chases him, and they both fall in the river and f***ing die. No, no, no, I'm not doing a half-assed YouTuber joke here.
They actually die there. It's kind of a fake-out. A dragon picks them up out the river and takes them on a magical flight set to an exciting love song.
So, you think they're still alive, and the movie's teaching impressionable young children with a sense of reality shaped by a cult that if they fall in a river and stop breathing, they get to go on a whimsical dragon adventure, but then they notice they're turning invisible,
and this old guy shows up to say, Hey, so I sent my dragon to save your stupid asses from drowning, but he was a little late, so, uh, you're dead now.
I don know But I tell you what you seem like good kids so you go to hell for a bit think about what you done and if you can figure out the meaning of life I let you be alive again because I a god or whatever
He doesn't send them off completely unprepared, though. Never go to hell without a Shin Megami Tensei repulse spell. This can ward off evil? But how? It doesn't make any sound. El Cantare
help me these kids are f***ing slow after that the dragon gives them a lift to the afterlife with a different song playing this time the theme song of the movie Dragonheart in fact and you're not
going to believe this but it's not very good I'm a young big guy Except it's like you're going to hell, bit.
That is hilarious. And so full of wonder, worries in the crowd. Could it be that you are free now?
So they're in hell now. and there's taxis there, like you'd expect. What's going on? Get out of the street! Also, guys murdering each other. Who do you think you are?
I'll cut you! He's dead. You better run! I think we should get out of here. Yeah.
But then they run into a nice guy who offers to help them instead of murdering them, but then he lied. Right. I can tell. That guy's got a gun. Let's get away from him. Okay.
Damn. Where do you think you're going? You little brat thinking you can hide from me? So that goes on for a while, like Scary Perry, but unironically,
until that other guy from before gets that guy, and the kid thinks he's safe to pick up a gun. But it turns out the other guy's crazy too now, you know, on account of the Helen suck. So he does a scary Terry for a sec, or more of a scary Ryu with the car and all.
And then, miracle of miracles, the movie's actually funny on purpose.
In the middle of all that, the kid gets a scratch on his arm, to which Cousin Shan has a very proportional reaction. Somebody help! Help! Help! But, of course, the silly girl has failed to realize
it's going to be an evil hell hospital where they treat minor scratches with unnecessary surgery. You'll have to wait out here.
I'll be all right. Don't worry. I don't know, kid. That doctor's eyeliner says otherwise. Hey, what's going on?
Told ya. You're just lucky they got Jedi down in hell to save your stupid ass. Meanwhile, a nurse drags Cousin Chan to the room where they pump blood out of sick people into other sick people, which now feels like a good time to mention Happy Science sells a lot of alternative medicine bullshit
and made quite a lot of money drifting anti-vaxxers over the last few years, So if it seems like they're trying to instill their children with some sort of deep-seated hospital phobia... That's probably because they are.
You can't leave now. You want to get better, don't you? You're just pushing. You won't get away. The Jedi lady shows up again to move the kids to a private room in which they meet a nurse lady who's in hell because she was an atheist and also bad at treating her patients, you know, on account of the atheism.
And then she got cancer and died and her friend who's a good nurse because she's not an atheist was all like, hey, remember, there's an afterlife, babe. So you got to thank God for the gift of your life, no matter how rough it gets.
And then it cuts to her funeral and then it cuts to Ooga Booga Chainsaws. and she's like, hey, I've been thinking, I don't think you're supposed to use chainsaws in a hospital, and the Jedi's like, hey girl, I was your preachy friend all along,
instead of chilling in heaven, I've been watching you suffer in hell for years, waiting for the day you get just a little bit of self-awareness so I can finally say I told you so, and of course the Hell Nurse breaks down crying at the kindliness of her heaven nurse friend,
and they go through a magic portal to heaven together and the kids just f***ing stand there watching as their only escape route closes and the film's first good person that we've seen leaves them alone to die in a hospital full of chainsaw-wielding maniacs.
Check out my arm. It's all healed. There you are. Quick, hurry. Let's go through. That door does bring them out of hospital hell,
but instead of heaven, they find themselves in opening cutscene of a COD game hell. For me? Thank you very much. No, wait! Come on! Hey!
What a senseless tragedy. They don't even get to keep the candy. After that, the first enemy from a COD game shows up and blows up. They get off the train and discover that they will not be playing the rest of the game.
What's going on? You heard your job. Run! That's the exact same train that just blew up. Then they learn the most important lesson of all.
Comedy lives in the wide shot. And as they say, the grass is in fact greener and much less exploding on the other side.
Wow, beautiful. Maybe we cross over into heaven. I don know about that It takes a sec to figure out exactly what kind of hell they in now but Cousin Shan mind the tragic backstory of this random lady revealing that it the hell for victims of sex trafficking
Which exists because, of course, to be in happy science heaven, one has to be happy all the time, which is very difficult for these women on account of, you know, all the trauma and such.
Thanks for writing this scene, Mr. Okawa. I really needed a reminder of why I'm so glad you're dead. Anywho, the lady can't leave because there's an invisible river around the mansion, so they gotta go through the skylight instead. But that's easier said than
done because it's actually a Scooby-Doo mansion, complete with the soul-sucking werecats from Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island. But much like regular cats, werecats are scared of lightning, which strikes as the
dragon popped in, causing the kids to start floating up in the air and carry the sex-trafficking victim lady with them. But she's too heavy and gets all covered in werecats, so she sacrifices
herself to free them before her demon pimp can pimp-slap them, and they fly off on the dragon to basically never think about her again, and leave her to presumably suffer for another thousand years as a reward for her sacrifice. Cousin Shan's the only one still thinking about her,
and all the other sad people stuck in hell for the sin of being sad, which makes her sad. And whoops, I guess we gotta go to the hell reception desk to put out a missing call for her now.
And who else would be working that desk except King Enma himself. But this ain't your G-chan's King Enma. Oh no, this is cool King Enma. Someone committed suicide because of your post on social media.
So what? That's not my fault. The internet hell. He wasn't always so cool, though, as we see in a flashback montage
to a list of other reasons that people go to happy science hell. It's more to dumb to do a scam when they see it. It's so dumb. The hell of doing it. I don't know scientific proof of a fair as well.
The hell of doing it. You know, you can make a fortune with fishing, Sam, you know. Look how sexy I am. I mean, just look. The hell of luck. It's been demonstrated that CO2 emissions... The hell looks like food.
But at some point between then and now, he beat Mario Sunshine to unlock that costume, and that's how come he's cool and Manau. And when Ryusuke arrives by way of the smoke that kidnaps you, he gives him a very cool musical exposition dump about all the fun and exciting types of hells.
And then, what was all of this? The war and terrorism have. The terrorism and war are a shock to the souls of these lasting damaged, grim members that are etched on people's souls for at least a thousand or even two thousand years.
You gotta love how they suck all that ancient alien shit into Egypt hell. Left a fan of the Gen AI, though. And the doubling down on Epstein victim hell.
But those women, they're the victims. Why are they in hell? They're trapped in their own fear of captivity. Eventually it just turns into another tourism song.
Who knew there were so many kinds of hell?
And of those kinds, it turns out that Cousin Shan has ended up in the hell of beasts, where people who can't tell the difference between man and beast go to indulge in their desires. So Ryusuke's got to go down there to save her, obviously, but not before finally asking how to make the stupid bell work.
Don't pray for yourself. Pray for others, and with a pure heart. But wait! What do you mean? I believe it! I believe it! No! And down in the hell of beasts, we discover that Cousin Sean has been kidnapped by post-transition Orochimaru.
I'm a very powerful god, you know. Yes, Haruhi, you are aware. Fun fact, Wendy Lee is also the voice director for this movie's entire dub. It's not her best work, but that sure didn't stop her from promoting the hell out of it
and thus using her fame to help occult recruit people. Hi, I'm Wendy Lee. I was the voice director of the English version of The Amazing Dragonheart. It's been wonderful working on this film. It's such a beautiful piece.
And it was just so much fun, and I hope that you get a chance to see it too. I think the next time that I play through the greatest video game ever made, SteamBot Chronicles. I'm going to have to do the route where you charge Wendy Lee for every time you have to save her from bandits,
and then the entire endgame is just chasing her bum ass down to collect on the IOU. That sounds really fun right now. Anyway, while that's going on, this random businessman gets possessed by the dog that makes you steal shit and have an eating disorder.
More! More! We're arresting you on suspicion of theft, sir. Uh, but I didn't do anything! Just for the record, I do live in Tokyo, and I'm pretty sure it's not nearly this on fire.
We then cut to Ryusuke making his way through the spookiest spooky forest yet to rescue Cousin Chan, but as soon as he gets there, he immediately eats shit and gets captured too, and honestly, not sure how else he thought it would go.
like even without her magic headache vision, that is a 40-foot snake, and you are a slow-witted child with a stick. But when that 40-foot snake gives the slow-witted child a lick,
it hits him with a vision of her sad backstory in which her boyfriend went out to get cigarettes one day and never returned. No please Don go my love Don leave me here There are so many river drownings in this movie
Now, you might think the revelation that the snake god is a vengeful incarnation of a woman scorned might impact how we deal with her in some way. Like, I don't know, we try to emphasize and bring out her inner humanity or something,
but nah, they just call the dragon again to jump her ass. Dragon, please come and help me.
Outside, the dog that gives you an eating disorder attack, alongside some hyenas that have human faces sometimes. So Ryusuke hits them with a stick, while Cousin-chan runs around screaming until she suddenly remembers her whole thing's supposed to be kendo,
and starts hitting them with a stick too. Then they finally figure out how to ring the bell, which summons a Lord of the Rings eagle to fly them away from Mordor. But it turns out it was actually the old guy all along.
So, how was your trip to heaven? Who was actually the mountain all along, and that's why he saved them from drowning, almost. Because earlier, they shouted his name and scared that one guy.
There's only 40 minutes left in the movie, though, and the kids aren't even cult recruiters yet. So the old guy sends them on their way to get all brainwashed up. There is something you can do. Help awaken as many people as possible to the truth.
There is a place for that purpose. It's a place where you train yourselves and learn what you need to know in order to awaken people. I have never heard of anyone who has gone there and come back again.
Okay, they're actually going to Shambhala, which Ryusei gets real excited about, because, you know, he's got that mountain autism, and Shambhala's supposed to be hidden in Mount Everest. So tell us, how do we get there?
How the f*** do you think, kid? You fly there on the dragon. The whole damn movie is flying places on the dragon. In this case, the place is Dongting Lake in China, where predictably, if you've seen one of these movies before,
the spirit of that lake tells them paradise is closed because of communism. This land has been dominated by a power that denies God and the spirit world.
And because of that, the spirit world is being destroyed. The Peach Blossom Land and Shambhala are both in great danger. But they seem pretty pleased, so she lets them in anyway. And one last flying sequence, plus two more terrible songs later,
they arrive in Shambhala to find the old man waiting. Well, I see you two managed to find your way here after all. I'm the next Hirashino Mikoto! Are you Yamato Takaruno Mikoto? Yamato Takaruno Mikoto is the one who caused this.
On the way to their indoctrination, we see some monks doing monk stuff, like meditating, meditating underwater, and throwing themselves off cliffs to fly.
Hold up. Were they actually trying to make kids kill themselves? Then some scientists in a library conjure a black hole, which takes them to this other monk who's using the force on some Minecraft block,
and they ask him, hey, how do we do that? and he says, you gotta tell all your friends and relatives about happy science, of course. Then the old guy takes them even higher, up a magic space mountain,
Mount Meru, the home of the gods from various Indian mythologies, where they finally arrive, just in time to find every god of every world religion, especially yours, bowing down before the one true super space Buddha, El Cantare.
Oh, Lord Alcantara, we honor you as our Lord God. You are the supreme God of the earth. And the kids are filled with overwhelming emotion
and an even more overwhelming desire to tell all their friends and relatives about happy science. The aunt... Wait, no, there's still some left. The kids wake up in their room where they've apparently been sleeping all day
and the aunt is super worried about them but not enough to, you know, call a hospital about the two kids in a coma or anything like that. Then they go out at night to watch Tokushima's famous Awa Dance Festival
with the traditional song rewritten to be about happy science stuff, naturally. Then the dragon flies off into the night sky,
and Ryusuke sends us off with a completely useless solar line. It was a mystical summer. Okay, now the end. Not just of this movie, but the whole happy science anime saga.
for now, until they pull that weekend at Bernie's, which I really hope they do soon, because, to be honest, this was kind of a lame note to send the super space Buddha out on. I mean, they barely blasphemed against any other religion.
The aliens only got a background cameo. The China hate was basically a subtweet, and they didn't turn any tragic historical figures into Aryan swans.
I don't know, it's like Bozo lost his mojo, and now he's just going to R.I.P. without it? No way! His family has a duty to dig that corpse up, put it in an anime studio where it will immediately be indistinguishable
from any of the animators, and keep doing seances until they have the most insane screenplay ever written. Anything less would be an insult to his legacy, which, let me remind you,
is also the legacy of Yahweh and Buddha and Tianzi, the Heavenly Emperor, and Amenomio Yagami and Confucius and Odin and Hermes and Lamu and Soth the King of Atlantis
and a few other guys I'm probably forgetting because all of those guys are the same guy. But I'm Jeff Stu, not that guy, signing out from not the afterlife.
Still issue. you
