# I Changed My Mind! Most Fun Tanks Tier List

> Source: [I Changed My Mind! Most Fun Tanks Tier List](https://youtube.com/watch?v=d8BfRk8yLHQ)

## Summary

The video is a tier list ranking the most fun tanks in World of Warcraft: The War Within. The creator shares personal opinions on each tank specialization, discussing their gameplay feel, strengths, and weaknesses, and ultimately ranks them based on fun factor.

### Key Points

- **Blood Death Knight is fun and self-reliant** [00:05] — Blood DK is a fan favorite, fun to play, and self-reliant, especially when pugging keys. Grips feel better than ever, and Gorefiend's Grasp can be used effectively without trolling the group.
- **Brewmaster is good but not giga fun** [02:10] — Brewmaster is very good and not made of paper for the first time since BFA, but it has lost depth over the years and doesn't capture the magic anymore. It remains average in fun.
- **Bear is almost there but too passive** [03:35] — Bear has a build with Sundering Roar that adds depth, but it feels too passive. The lack of off-spec utility and reliance on passive procs (like Dream of Cenarius) detracts from the fun.
- **Prot Paladin is paper but S-tier fun** [05:52] — Prot Paladin is very fun but squishy due to reactive self-sustain. It deals high damage and has great utility, but the paper-like survivability is a drawback. Still, it's S-tier quality material.
- **Prot Warrior is comfortable but stale** [07:14] — Prot Warrior retains its button-smashing fun and execute is more prominent, but it plays the same as every other expansion. After 6 years, it's not as exciting anymore.
- **Vengeance DH is squishy but embodies the demon** [08:39] — Vengeance DH has a much better version of Demonic (Apex) but is RNG-dependent and squishy. It embodies the demon fantasy but is probably the squishiest tank, despite having strong procs.

### Conclusion

The creator ranks tanks based on fun, with Blood DK and Prot Paladin being top contenders, while Brewmaster and Bear are solid but not giga fun. Vengeance DH is fun but squishy, and Prot Warrior is comfortable but stale.

## Transcript

have played more tanking now than I have played the entirety of the war within I think and a bunch of them are really really really fun. And we're going to be ranking them today. And I am starting strong with blood death knight, a fan
favorite of pretty much everybody that has ever tanked yet somehow struggles from the image that he's portrayed about it in the community and a lot of people just don't give it enough credit. It is so fun. It's a decently fun It's not
tell you it's kind of missing a little bit today cuz I'm missing a little bit of consumption and if there's a little bit of a passive gameplay that kind of was taken away from blood decay from beta
fun particularly with the desecrated ground talent that has kind of like moved away from the identity of blood death knight. However, with that being said, the fact that you're being able to be safe reliant self-reliant rather and
always very appealing for blood decay especially when you're pugging keys and you can pull off some crazy stuff if you can manage to not die within one global. And I do have to say that grips have never felt better in this day and
age considering that we can pull more packs in general now. I'm not necessarily talking about Algeth'ar Academy but taking win runner's spire with all those archers that just sit and never move to the group to be cleaved
down. Oh, give me groups any day of the week and this is probably the first time ever that we can actually use Gorefiend's grasp and not troll our group and it can also silence and you don't have to spend half of your talent
points to get it. Finally, this is what makes blood death knight stand out. This better this season than it has done in a lot of other seasons but we're not going what the point is. The point is to have fun. The point is to be tanky, the point
is to heal yourself and grip everything to melee because you are so very slow. Brewmaster has turned a lot of heads this season and it hasn't turned mine. I
have played Brewmaster of course in [music] this expansion and it's fine. I could see myself play it. It's very good. I'm not particularly attracted to very heavy tanky metas / tanks. It's just not
because part of the tanks is seeing how you can actually survive while not actually being made out of paper. For the first time since BFA maybe, I feel like Brewmaster is
actually not made out of paper and that is very big for Brewmaster. Happy Brewmasters, you guys enjoy, you deserve it. It's been a very long time since you were meta and wait, wait a minute, you're not meta anymore. You're second
best as of this point, but that's not neither here nor there. Brewmaster has always been a tank that rotated a lot of procs, a lot of effects, a lot of most out of all the tanks, but it has lost a lot of its depth over the years.
And although I still enjoy it right now, it doesn't really feel like it captures it doesn't really feel like it captures that magic for me anymore and it's fun, but it will always remain average level of fun and I don't think it can compete
with at least Blood Death Knight in terms of how amazing it could be. Speaking of a tank that is very close tank that I enjoy the most in terms of fantasy, that is bear and it's almost
there, dude. They're almost nailing the bear situation right now. There is a build with bear right now where you can actually play Sundering Roar that I've introduced 8 months ago, maybe more on alpha
still play waking nightmare, but although it does feel a little bit too passive-y. However, it does feel like bear is getting a lot more depth to it and that's something that I definitely like as a tank. I'm not necessarily
happy that you can play without apex talents, although apex talents were of specs actually treat them as choices. Most of them treat them as pretty much mandatory and even though Blizzard has stated that apex talents should be
I don't think they like it when they are not chosen to be in a very highly optimized end game setting and that's what bears have been doing for quite a time you watch this video, but I don't think so. I doubt it. Nothing really
likely that we're going to keep this balance up until season 2. So, you're fine to play bear however way you want to. One little gripe that I have with bear that kind of keeps it away from being giga fun is this is mostly a druid
um trickles down to bear as well. I don't feel like a druid. It is a bear. It's It's a good bear. It's It's berry. It's berry-er than other expansions, but most druid-ish bear that I've ever played outside of vanilla World of
Warcraft when you interacted with all of your kit as a druid was in Battle for Possibly even Shadowlands when you still had the affinities. Having access to powerful spells for your off specs that you can reliably use in combat was very
didn't do that too much because you would die if you shifted out of bear, but shifting out of bear to cast swift mend and almost fully heal a party member whenever was hitting the fan was very satisfying. And the only real
that is dream of scenarios and even that kind of falls to the passive play style where things are casted for you automatically and I absolutely loathe that style of class design. If I If my class can play itself for me, why am I
even subscribed? Prot paladin has been a favorite of mine for a very long time and it is really really cool. The only reason why it's not giga fun, and this is an important reason, is because
it's paper, bro. This is not okay, and this is a problem with the design of tanks, propaladin included, that have self-sustain as part of their mitigation, because self-sustain is reactive. It assumes that you survived
the damage before you mitigate it, which is definitely way truer for blood DK, but this is a problem mostly for propaladin, because in order to survive tanky. And if you're decently tanky, then by definition, you might not need
you still have that reactive healing, that just makes you overpowered as a tank, which is probably why we've seen propaladin absolutely destroy in past good, with a lot of silences from Avenger shield, with really good utility
part of the reason why propaladin was really good, and what pushed it to be it received its tankiness buffs just enough to be able to survive, just enough to feel like a tank. But whenever we get to that point, it's rest of the
kit is so goddamn good that it's kind of hard not to be meta with propaladin, considering how much damage it does. And maybe that's the main problem. Because drawbacks, otherwise everybody would be playing propaladin, and there would be
no balance whatsoever. And the drawback is probably that they're a little bit cannon tanks. [music] That's just not for me. Maybe you like you, it's giga fun. It's S-tier quality material, but
not for me. Prot warrior is always a fan favorite of mine, and [music] has been the tank that I've felt the most comfortable on, and and overall, despite all of the changes
tanking, to dungeons, to raid, prot warrior still seems to retain its decently level of fun. There was a time in the world within when the devs wanted to make this slower, because it was way too fast, and goddammit, the community
rallied around the prot warriors, held their flags up high and said, "No." And they listened, thank god. And prot warrior retained its button-smashing fun zug-zuggy feel, and I'm happy for it. It also got some cool new adjustments with
execute being a lot more prominent, and I super super love it. It still has dead goddamn talents that I wish we could see them revive, and it just plays the same as every other expansion. You may be having one spell that does something
slightly different, and that's about it, but the rest is just the same thing as always. And that's not necessarily a bad thing, but after 6 years of playing the same prot warrior, I I just am not that excited anymore at jumping in it. I
Obviously, I've ranked it pretty high. It's there, but that There is a reason why it's not in giga fun. That reason has been taken, un- dethroned, uncontested by vengeance demon hunter, and I feel like I'm the
only person in the world that loves vengeance demon hunter. What they did with vengeance with the apex sounds have changed my mind. design that they took away demonic and then just baked it into apex sounds and
said, "Hey, this is a new thing." No, it's not. No, it's not. We had bloodny back in legion, and then back in shadowlands, and now we had demonic up until yesterday when we got this thing. It is a much better version of demonic,
RNG, which kind of creates the same problem as prot paladin with vengeance in that you need to do a lot of damage, and you do do a lot of damage because your defenses, when they proc, they're pretty strong. So, there has to be a
you're still kind of squishy, and I don't like that. To be fair, out of all of the tanks, being able to turn into a big demon with thick spikes and demon skin should probably be the tankiest tank in
the game. You could make an argument around that very statement, but it's not. Not only it's not, it's probably the squishiest. Probably, I guess it kind of has a run at it with Prop Paladin, but at least it definitely
embodies the feel of the demon, and it doesn't feel like the self-sustain is that was nerfed back in beta when Vengeance was actually really strong and might have stood a chance against bear and brewmaster in the meta right now,
but of course that's long gone. But, I do like the changes in how it approaches its tankiness, how you're rotating Fiery Brand. The changes to Fiery Brand are really cool. I kind of miss Fel Devastation being
uh maybe that's the next in line to actually be really good. And this is how at it sideways, it kind of looks like a never mind. But, what is your favorite fun with this season? Let us know in the comment section down below, and don't
forget to watch our most fun ranged DPS playing a tank. And if you like Vengeance, you might like the most [music] fun ranged DPS pick out there. I'm not saying it's a demon hunter. No.
