That way, I could figure out [00:59] and I put everything that worked for me and that's the process I'm about to share with you. make a pro channel page. [01:13] My first channel page looked like this, yikes. isn't gonna push anyone to subscribe. that I struggled to turn viewers into subscribers. [01:28] and because my channel page looks professional, hit that Subscribe button. First, write a thorough About tab description. [01:44] what do they do? and if you're About description looks like this, a detailed About page description [01:58] what types of videos you put out, and anything else that would make someone For example, here's my About section, [02:11] Next, you wanna upload nice-looking channel art. to make a first impression. and your channel art is the first thing [02:24] so it needs to look great. you can use an easy tool like Canva or Snappa Last up, we have your channel icon. [02:37] shows up in more places in YouTube Your channel icon appears on Watch Pages, Featured Channels, Related Channels, and more. [02:52] they see from your channel For example, when you leave a comment on a video, So, make sure your channel icon [03:05] looks nice and clear like this or like this. which is to find three key words. You can have the best video ever made. YouTube puts a ton of weight on terms [06:07] So, make sure to include your exact, For example, here's a video I published a while back. So, I included that keyword in my title, simple. [06:22] in your description. Just sprinkle in your keyword a few times Here's an example from the video I just mentioned. [06:34] That's how you want it to look. I like to keep things really simple. Then, I use a handful of other tags [06:49] That's all there is to it. get more comments. to figure out why certain videos [07:02] and one finding that surprised a lot of people tend to outrank videos when your video gets a lot of comments, [07:14] YouTube says, "This video is engaging our viewers," The question is, Here are three simple tips that work great. [07:26] multiple choice questions in your video. something like this. super specific that they comment on. [07:40] I ask people, which technique from the video They can literally comment with one to two words, that this video has so many comments. [07:53] Here's where you ask your viewers a question and then you pin it so it stays at the top. Finally, reply to as many comments as you can. [08:06] The fact is, most YouTubers never reply to comments, and if your channel is brand new, to every single comment that comes in. [08:19] that comes in within the first 48 hours Not only does this lead to more people commenting, Speaking of subscribers, [08:33] step number six, get more subscribers. And how do you go from 1,000 to 100,000 and more? [08:45] First, focus 100% on quality, not quantity A lot of so-called YouTube experts [08:57] but it's simply not true. published on YouTube every minute. It needs more awesome videos. [09:13] to over 100,000 subscribers and it only took seven more videos and I'm not alone with this quality over quantity approach. [09:27] JunsKitchen has over 3,000,000 subscribers, and he's only uploaded about 25 total videos. just that the videos you do publish are awesome. [09:41] You also wanna optimize your end screen for subscribers. at the end of every video on YouTube, to get more subscribers. [09:54] an entire video from your channel, That's why I recommend using That way, people can easily subscribe [10:08] And now it's time for our last step, Now that your channel is starting to get some traction, Specifically, it's time to start focusing on session time. [10:23] Session time is how long someone spends one of your videos, than audience retention and watch time. [10:38] someone spends watching one video. that someone spends and YouTube has stated on the record [10:51] According to YouTube, because of your content, how do you maximize your session time? [11:05] I already mentioned that you wanna add but you also wanna link Here's an example from my channel. [11:19] from your channel to watch right away. use a next video that someone want to watch For example, I have a video on my channel [11:32] What would someone that just finished A video on how to turn those views into subscribers. in my end screen. [11:46] that I call power playlists. to boost your channel's session time. one video after another, [12:00] So, what are power playlists exactly? Just kidding. Instead of organizing your playlists around topics, [12:14] you organize them around outcomes and benefits. about healthy desserts. something like Healthy Dessert Recipes, [12:28] to watch every single video on that playlist. With power playlists, you organize your videos So, instead of organizing your videos [12:43] you just collect a batch of four to five videos without cutting out dessert. For example, I have a bunch of videos [12:57] So, I put those videos into a playlist and called it How to Get Higher Google Rankings. I've got a quick bonus strategy for you, [13:11] to take your channel to the next level. the YouTube Studio isn't gonna be after you get a few hundred subscribers [13:26] I recommend sticking to the other With that, here's how this strategy works. First, look at your videos' top traffic sources. [13:38] where your views and watch time are coming from, Here's exactly how to use this information First, you can double down on what's already working. [13:52] spend more time looking for keywords You can also use this report For example, maybe a big source of potential views, [14:06] is only bringing in 10% of your views. that are designed to rank in suggested videos sidebar. for a couple of your videos. [14:21] and when you notice a pattern, For example, in some of my older videos, in the first 30 seconds of my video. [14:35] in the first 30 seconds or so of your video, and when I looked at my video intros, my videos topic was important.
