[00:13] Today's topic, Marvel versus DC. Which comic book movies reign supreme in the year of our Lord, 2026? Our debaters are Ricky on Team Marvel and Yvonne on Team DC. Each debater will have 30 seconds to make their case,
[00:27] followed by a 10-second rebuttal. Once that's done, we leave the decision to you. So now, I welcome our debaters into the arena. So, we flipped a coin, which Ivan won, and he has chosen to speak last. So Ricky, your 30 seconds starts now.
[00:41] Alright, DC's finally finding its footing, and that's great, but they're still playing catch up. Just this year, we've got Spider-Man Brand New Day coming, Spider-Noir, Avengers Doomsday, and the return of the X-Men on the horizon, plus X-Men 97. And that's not even mentioning last year's blockbusters.
[00:55] DC still has a lot to prove with its new universe, and Supergirl is not doing so hot right now. Marvel movies are massive cultural events. Every trailer takes over the internet and genuinely excites people. They've been doing this for almost 20 years with ambitious crossovers
[01:09] and impressive consistency, which is why they're still the gold standard for comic book movies in the big 26. All right, Ivan, what do you have to say about DC? Another year, another attempt for Marvel to keep banking on dated legacy.
[01:25] We've seen it all before, man. Marvel just keeps throwing stuff at the wall to see if it sticks, rehashing old storylines because the previous ones didn work They stretched themselves thin and this web just ain holding man Time and time again for the past couple of years DC has been serving audiences and proving the critics and the haters
[01:43] wrong with projects that are different, edgier, brave, and bold. And, you know, projects that can stand alone without the homework and the baggage that's become second nature with Marvel. Alright, Ricky, what do you have to say? You have 10
[01:57] seconds. DC's on the right track but they're still chasing what Marvel already If Marvel was really washed, every Spider-Man and Avengers trailer wouldn't still break the internet. DC has a lot of work to do. All right, Yvonne, you get the last word. Go.
[02:10] Look, there hasn't been a comeback story quite like Superman in the superhero genre overall. And if Supergirl's audience score continues to climb as it has been, it's looking like a DC takeover in Brightest Day and Blackest Night.
