[00:01] those games where a little bit of strategy goes a long way, and a lack of it will drain your bankroll faster than you can hit. So, if you've ever walked away from the table thinking, "Why does the dealer always win?" I got you. Let's [00:15] go over eight easy ways to win more money at blackjack, or at least lose a lot less. And I know what you're thinking, but none of them are card counting. Choose the right blackjack table. Observe first because not all [00:28] blackjack games are created equal. Look for tables that pay 3 to2 on blackjack and avoid 6 to 5 payouts which are just straight up robbery. Also check if the dealer hits or stands on soft 17. That rule alone can change your odds. Never [00:44] rule alone can change your odds. Never split 10. I know it's tempting. Two 10 money, right? But don't. You already have 20. That's a killer hand. Don't mess it up trying to get fancy. Split aces and eights. Speaking of split [00:59] hands, always split aces and eights. A pair of eights is a 16, aka the worst hand in blackjack. Two aces, that could become two 21s. Yes, it costs more to [01:11] split, but it gives you a way better shot at winning. Never take insurance. Insurance is a sucker bet. Let me say that louder for the folks in the back. that louder for the folks in the back. Never take insurance. It sounds smart, [01:24] like you're protecting your hand, but statistically it's just a sneaky way for the casino to edge you out. Unless you're literally counting cards, which let's face it, most of us aren't. Skip it. Avoid the side bets. You see those [01:39] shiny little bonus bets on the table like perfect pairs or 21 + 3? Yeah, no. They're fun, flashy, and they'll eat your chips like candy. They have a huge house edge. If your goal is to win more, stick to the main game. Manage your [01:55] bankroll like a pro. This sounds obvious, but don't bet your rent money on a single hand. Seriously, set a budget, decide how much you're willing to risk, and break it down into manageable bets. I like to bring 20 to [02:08] 30 minimum bets to a table. It gives me room to ride the ups and downs. Know when to walk away. A winning streak feels great until it doesn't. One of the best ways to win more is to keep your winnings. Set a stop-loss and a stop-lo [02:23] limit before you start. If you're up a decent amount, just cash out. Don't fall into the trap of chasing even more and losing it all back. Always use basic strategy. This is your golden rule. Blackjack isn't guessing. It's basically [02:39] math. Some charts tell you the best move for every hand based on what the dealer is showing. Learn them, print them, tattoo them on your arm if you have to. Maybe not that, but seriously, using basic strategy lowers the house edge a [02:53] basic strategy lowers the house edge a lot, sometimes down to under 1%.
