I want to win in a drag race between a Mark 1 Audi R8 V10, a Lamborghini Huracan Toppamante, a Lamborghini Gallardo V10 and an Audi RS6 V10. Well we're going to find out by racing them over the standing quarter mile.
Am I watching? You're watching CarLad. Now this drag race is part of the big wider celebration of V10 engine cars and we're drag racing a wide range of them over a series of different videos.
so make sure you subscribe to these, don't miss out. So this old Audi, it has a 5.2 litre naturally aspirated V10 with 550hp and 540Nm of torque. It drives all four wheels by a 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox with launch control.
That's why it's one of the facelift cars with the dual clutch, that makes a massive difference on how well it goes. It weighs about 1.6 tonnes, which is quite a lot, isn't it really? Now let's find out about the Lambo from its driver. Hello Phil from Velocity Club, tell me about your car.
It's a 2018 Lamborghini Huracán Performante, 5.2 litre, V10, naturally aspirated, 640 PS, 600 Nm of torque and I believe it's 1500 kg.
Oh, wait a minute, you've got a lot more power and a lot more torque, oh dear. Nicholas, what car are you in? I am in the Gallardo Performante, which is basically the Spider version of the Superleggera that we all know and love. This has a 5.2 litre naturally aspirated V-Tone like you guys, 570 horsepower, 540 newton metres
and I also weigh about a tonne and a half but unlike you guys with your fancy double clutch gearboxes I've got a robotised manual e-gear so we'll see how that goes. It's either going to be amazing or I'm going to be stone dead lapped so I can't wait to find out. And we've got another
Audi, sorry you guys are Lamborghinis not Audis at all, so we've got an Audi RS6 now it's being driven by Jack because we've run out of drivers. Jack is in charge of all our videos, be your best I've got a C6 RS6, it's got a 5 litre twin turbo V10, so the only one with turbo's there.
It's got 580 horsepower and 660 newton meters of torque except it doesn't because it's tuned. I've got 780 horsepower and 1300 newton meters of torque but I do weigh two tons so that's
going to go against me. I've got a six-speed torque converter automatic gearbox and I've got all-wheel drive and I I think it's probably worth about 20 cents, but it's by far the cheapest there. And you know what, Jack? I just gave you a disservice, because not only can you present the camera better than I can actually hold a camera and film stuff,
I think you can even present it better than me. This is worrying. Just a quick one on that engine. 5 litre V10. Was that originally a Lamborghini built engine, whereas the 5.2 is an Audi built engine?
I don't know. Nick, maybe you might know. I did do a bit of digging about this, because I was curious too. apparently the engine in that car is based on the 5.2 litre Audi developed engine but the capacity has been lowered probably coming to do with the two honking great turbos you've got Jack
but yeah Audi blocks that one right, do you know what, let's compare the sound of the more windows down I'm going to rev up my R8 first, here we go

I don't know how I come after that. In another competition of Exhaust Noise, you could well have won, but just not today,
because these three are amazing. First to say this, followed by this, I prefer the tune of this Phil. It isn't just noise, this is more tune. Right, shall we go with the drag race?

Oh, there it is, I'm hearing now. No. Where's the phone? Now that was weird because none of us is allowed in these cars when you lift off so I did that
then and there's no delay it was instant the moment I lifted off. Umpire did I jump the star. I'm amazed by that that was actually bang on the money.
What's interesting about this old gearbox I think it's slightly better you might have noticed this. You lift off the brake and there's a delay and then it goes so you have to time the delay as well as time the hand's going down. With this, as soon as you lift off the brakes, it goes.
So the good old days, speaking of which, the good old days, Nick, in that guy old days, you had the gearbox that this used to have, which is the old single clutch. How was that launch? This car just gave 11 tenths in that launch. It was like I've been shot out of a cabin.
No delay, nothing, plenty of violence. I'm really impressed by this. Jack, you're like so far behind. Yeah, it feels like it's limiting power in first and second. I'm hoping that when we do the rolling rate, once I'm in third, it seems to give it all.
But yeah, first and second, that was dead. But I have found a paintbrush. Spit with. Well, that's good. That's going to help you. Right, let's do one more because it's best two out of three. Maybe you can do a bit of launch fill and we'll get to a bit more realistic time.

I don't think your launch was quite as good then Nick, did it just do a lot of wheel spin? No, that was me saying it was the most magical thing ever the first race, No, there was a delay that time and wheel spin. To be honest, all I could think about was the noise. Wow, okay, well, there we go.
Your car was flying. Jack, was that bad for you? Uh, I wouldn't say that. It was actually way more embarrassing. Nick went so far after me and then he still overtopped me. I don't know if this really has the power they say it does.
What's it supposed to have? It's supposed to have 780 and 1300 newton metres of torque. So then what exactly happened? Well, the Huracan won. It completed the standing quarter mile in 10.9 seconds.
The R8 took 11.8 seconds. The Gallardo, 12.2 seconds. And the RS6 came last with a time of 12.4 seconds. Now we go for a rolling race from 50 miles an hour.
Let's have the cars in their comfort setting. Comfort for the gearbox, comfort for whatever. I'll go 3, 2, 1, go. Floor it and we'll race over the half mile. See which one's the quickest. 3, 2, 1, go. On it she's down, Richard. Good work, Nick.

That's strange. This kicked down beautifully. Then yours did, Phil. And once it did, you called up, you were gone. What happened to you, Nick? I was taking the roof down and your long head. It caused too much drag.
So this being the old single clutch, doesn't kick down. I did that entire race in fourth gear. The whole race. It doesn't kick down in automatic, are you sure?
Yeah. That's crap, Jack. I hope yours didn't kick down either. If it did, that's embarrassing. Yeah, so I waited like three business days, no, four business days for the kickdown, but then I was looking at Nick and I was like, I've got to be taking him.
And then he's just ruined it for me because apparently he was in fourth, so great. Okay, right, let's take all the kickdowns and we can start the equation. The rolling race, so gear, sporty settings, manual mode, let's do it.
Three, two, one, go. Oh, it's gone. Oh my god Oh my god

That was constant out though. Your hair looks wicked, that was so funny.
Lamborghini, Lamborghini, I didn't know anything. You did a better job that time, Jack. Yeah, but I just don't have power, basically. You have the claim power, I'm not sure you have the real power. Nick, I was a geisha.
It's pretty horrible if you hit the red line, but no, all clean, all good, and I just beat you, didn't I? I was screaming to myself that I was having the best time. Phil, you can see progress right there, can't you?
Exactly that. Usually it's a bit more agricultural, but fair play. That was a cracking race. I was looking in the rearview mirror watching. That was brilliant. I was watching in the rearview mirror watching. This is an interesting brake test.
You ready, Jack? Yeah, I've got my paintbrush. That's it. Just as long as you don't paint the road red. Let's go. I don't know how they put a manual in this car. The pedal box is awful. Right, Nick. That's enough of your thoughts. Get into yourself, you windy bastard.

that you'd win, you're ahead of those guys and you must be ahead of Matt as well Anyway Jack, how was it for you? It was exactly as you think it would be. I lost.
I feel you had an excuse. It was probably a valid excuse. It was your own fault. So, excuse not accepted.
