## Summary

This video documents the chaotic state of Hoovie's car collection after his long-time mechanic, the Car Wizard, moved away. With over 30 vehicles suffering from various issues including broken air conditioning, oil leaks, and electrical problems, the creator seeks help from the Car Ninjas to address the most pressing repairs, focusing on his 1990 Porsche Carrera 4.

### Key Points

- **Car Wizard Departs** [00:01] — After 15 years, the Car Wizard has moved away, leaving Hoovie without a mechanic during a period when many cars need maintenance.
- **Mountain of Issues** [00:15] — Multiple cars are breaking simultaneously, including the Porsche 911 with a damaged side skirt and oil leak.
- **Porsche Body Damage** [01:08] — The RSR wide body kit side skirt was caught on a speed bump and broken; the oil cooler lines are also leaking.
- **Heat and AC Problems** [02:14] — With 100°F heat in Kansas, many cars have non-functional AC, including the Porsche which appears to have all components but no cold air.
- **BetterHelp Sponsorship** [05:53] — The video includes a sponsored segment for BetterHelp therapy, discussing how therapy helps break patterns of anger and anxiety.
- **Car Ninjas Evaluation** [12:13] — At Car Ninjas, the Porsche is inspected: the AC compressor clutch wire is broken, and the R12 refrigerant system lacks a valve stem.
- **Fuse Box Discovery** [16:04] — Multiple fuses are missing from the Porsche, likely removed by auction bidders to hide problems; a burnt fuse for ABS is found.
- **ABS Light Fixed** [17:37] — After replacing the burnt fuse, the ABS and all-wheel drive warning lights turn off, solving that electrical issue.
- **Oil Leak from Valve Covers** [18:48] — The fancy valve covers are leaking oil, and the drain plug lacks a crush washer, contributing to the puddle.
- **More Cars Break** [22:51] — The Lexus SC400 loses transmission fluid, and the GT-R misfires after sitting in heat, adding to the list of broken vehicles.

### Conclusion

Hoovie's car collection is in a state of disrepair with numerous vehicles needing attention, from AC failures to oil leaks and electrical gremlins. The Car Ninjas have a substantial task ahead to revive the fleet.

## Transcript

And it's official, my mechanic, the Car Wizard, after 15 years of wrenching on my cars, he is gone. And it's come at a really, really bad time because a lot of not only that, in a couple months before he left, he was so busy packing up and
many of my cars as far as maintenance. So, I am way, way behind when it comes to my fleet. And to top it off, they're just all breaking at the same time. And very busy with the Hooptie Lot cars getting them ready for the lot so we can
make some money there. So, I'm in kind of a situation, but of course, there are Ninjas. So, today I'm going to take this Porsche 911, which as you can see, some bad things have already happened to it, up to the Car Ninjas to help me with it
and revive the AC. This is one of four, five, six cars that I have broken AC on, so it's it's definitely a situation. And then the rest of the fleet, well, yeah, it's it's all falling apart. So, yes, my 1990 Porsche Carrera 4 is back in
Kansas, but as you can see, we have some problems already with this RSR style wide body kit. Uh so, I was driving it for the first time here with April hadn't ridden in it yet. She really liked it. I went to turn around and hit
sort of a speed bump or a hump in the road and it caught this side skirt and sort of broke it off. Not, I mean, broke, broke it, but definitely things back on, but it needs to be sort of re-secured. This thing is not grabbing
And then there's some washers underneath. You can see, there's actually the oil cooler lines to cool the engine on this thing, but underneath they're not doing a very good job. So, I'm hoping the Car Ninjas can help me
with that. But in addition, it's sat for about a week and the battery, I'm not draw on it, so I have it on a charger right now before we drive it to the Car Ninjas today. But that's not all. Here is where it is normally parked and as
you can see, there is a nice little oil puddle right here. Pretty good drip. I'm hoping most of it is from a drain plug, though it looks pretty obvious. But also, I would love it since it's 100° outside here in Kansas. That's why the
Car Wizard left for much less humid climate in Las Cruces, New Mexico. I I works because it's all hooked up, it's all there. It looks like it's been point. So, it'd be great if we get that AC going again. And if it didn't dribble
on the ground, that would be wonderful as well. That's normally the gold wing that thing while it's waiting to get shipped to Atlanta, Georgia to get that's a big one that's going to be a problem. But the whole fleet, it really
starting with the Jeep Grand Wagoneer here in the corner, I do want to get it repainted, but it's having a problem with vapor locking here in the heat. because the way they route the carburetor and the fuel line.
is the fuel line for it right here, this hard metal line that wraps all the way around the head. And of course, it gets hot and it vaporizes this modern ethanol fuel and causes problems. I need to at least wrap that or re-route the fuel
that, maybe do an EFI conversion, but also I want to paint it. April's cars, still drives the Grand National quite a bit. The GNX is sort of her show car and sits and she looks at it and drools at it. But this was the other recent
purchase at Barrett-Jackson's, a 1996 Mercedes SL500. And it does drive really nice, cold air conditioning, but when I went to operate the top, it it just exploded. I think this thing's been sitting for the better part of 10 years
and the big hydraulic rams right here leaked all the fluid out when I tried to operate the top once I reset everything. So, it needs the top cylinders redone. that's a big deal. And then the alternator light came on, the battery
light, and it does indeed need a new alternator. So, I can't really move up to the Hooptie Lot until that gets done. And then we'll have to redo the top as then, you know, the top thing You have to deal with that with Mercedes
sometimes. I just did it with April's 90 SL500 that's up on the lift. And congratulations to Jared, the winner of the 454 SS on fanathom.com. A new giveaway is coming soon. That one was a really special piece, though. My 40,000
mile Escalade, unfortunately, even with the low mileage, there's still age-related things and the air shocks are throwing an error in the rear. It is trucks, over $1,000 to replace the rear air ride if the bags are blown. So,
unfortunately, this one just bit me. And then my other Escalade, the supercharged 180,000 mile one, the AC took a dump. So, I lost the AC on that truck. One thing that used to mentally wreck me was airline travel. As I don't like being
destiny, but it's way worse for me when things go wrong. And with airline gets. Just last week, I was stuck on a small plane for almost 6 hours. A major 2-hour flight, and I was in coach, really crammed up. I was so furious when
I finally got home at 4:00 a.m. And even though I was exhausted, it took me over 2 hours to fall asleep. I literally watched the sunrise. Now, I avoid because of these situations, and I managed to go 7 weeks without flying,
course, when I go back, something like this happens. Now, the old me, I would've been completely useless for that for days, stuck in a cycle of anger and anxiety that would affect me for days or weeks sometimes, like a black
couldn't shake. Thankfully, therapy has helped me a lot in breaking that pattern. First, by recognizing that I'm choosing to torture myself long after an control. It also helped me realize that I was burning myself out massively with

no problems there, but the last time I drove it, it really needed new tires. dry-rotted. So, actually I did just buy some from TireRack. They are in, but they need to be mounted and balanced. So, I'm waiting for its turn to do that.
And my Lotus Esprit V8, unfortunately, it has oil leaks as well. Let's see. I when it's running, when it really has a steady drip cuz it's under pressure, the oil cooler lines. So, that is the only remaining issue with this one other than
switch from hot to cold as far as the temperature of the climate control. But conditioning, so that is fine at the moment. I'm jumping around, but I think my Fiat 500 is doing fine. My Jeep is doing fine other than a big transmission
leak by Jurassic Park Jeep. My Mercedes S500, it is sorted out and looks a lot but its air conditioning feels kind of weak as well. It's okay, it's working, but it's just not that strong. And the XLR-V, speaking of AC, it conked out but
video is going to come out first, but in one video I sort of documented it in my this thing and the temp sensor went crazy and it took out the air overheating even though it's not. So, that is another one with no air
conditioning. The '46 Chrysler, it really needs a fuel pump added to it to sits for a long time because it's like 2 minutes of cranking to get this thing a month and it loses its prime and bleeds down. So, I need to do that and
probably a 12-volt conversion on it because at night, the new generator and up. It doesn't charge well enough and I'm just concerned about being stranded. don't want to sell it, either. The Toyota Prius, it is up there in bricks.
It has a battery drain. Within 2 days, it is completely dead. I think the time ago is fine. It's just something is draining, you know, the main starter as I know, is doing okay. It kind of just sits up there as a mascot. It
all right. My Aston Martin Vanquish, it is long overdue for a service, unfortunately. The check engine light is on for some reason. I did the tune-up 5 years, so I'm wondering if it's time again to have to do an ignition coil and
though I haven't driven it all that much, but it's also leaking. I mean, parking brake, it is stuck. I used to be able to wiggle it to get it to have that me that the parking brake's on, even though it's not. It's just a sensor
well, it was getting close when we redid everything, but now it's it's definitely little bit of a chatter when it starts to go. The '90 SL 500, that is April's.
glass, it is faded and cracking, it needs to be replaced. And she cracked semi, so that's that's the thing it needs done. My '85 500 SL, it's been and I just keep putting it off, but I really, really want to get this thing
done sometime soon, and go through it, get the correct wheels, and the AMG lip was basically when I was a kid growing up when my grandmother was driving it. It's my first car, so I really do love the thing. The Lexus SC 400, it's it's
solid. It's a Lexus, man, so nothing wrong with that. And the Mercedes SLK up $100 million, well, it's it's terminal. It's just decoration up there at that point. So, that's all the cars in the garage, and
then there's more outside with issues. April's Audi e-tron is broken, it needs The door handle or whatever has gone wrong on that one, even though we just about 20 broken hoopdies in here, but there are more broken ones outside, like
weaker air conditioning, needs to be topped off or something. It's just not are totally blown. I mean, it's just banging, bouncing. It is really, really bad, so I need to fix that. The hoopty Hummer, this is for the hoopty lot, it's
actually really nice. My '99 Escalade, believe it or not, I have found wheels embarrassed to drive it with its current wheel setup. So, I'm very excited. Those are coming in from my friend Anthony at specialtyautocars.net.
My Lambo tractor's hiding back there. As far as I know, it's doing okay. My Dodge Dakota, I think, is doing fine. And this diesel this 240D has been waiting its turn for over a year now. It's It's really really sad. It probably needs to
appreciate it, enjoy it, and drive it for the, you know, $4,000 or so that it's worth. It is a four-speed manual, no AC, pretty nice car, a few bubbles a nice driver. And these are getting super collectible. So, this is
on there. It was ceramic coated. I can't believe I made this thing into a barn find officially just having it parked here for over a year. But in addition, there's cars that are not here. My AMG GTS, it has a really bad exhaust rattle,
Nissan GTR, Stewart wanted to fix something with the bumper. He painted it wanted to redo it. But unfortunately, he's had health issues. He's been in the soon. Hopefully he sees this, Stewart. Hopefully you're doing okay. So, those
them at the car ninjas. The rest of the fleet, it's as tired as this lawn's looking in this heat. And me, too, with so many cars going down with no air conditioning. It's It's hoopty getting. It happens every year in the summer, it

some work. So, see, there are some warning lights on for the all-wheel drive and the ABS. Also, the radio doesn't turn on. I mentioned the AC doesn't work. And then, I can't drive it at night when it would be cool because
the headlights don't work either. So, some weird electrical problems on this But, thankfully, the engine with that turbo turbo and the transmission
they feel really strong. Woo! We'll see what the Carnage thinks.
>> Beautiful car, ugly horn. >> Okay. Now, you're not moving away to Las Cruces or anywhere else anytime soon, >> Okay, thank goodness. Okay. Please don't go anywhere. Please. I need I need you.
huh? >> Beautiful. Beautiful. >> Yeah. Well, it's a little different under hood. under hood. Well, it's a lot different.
>> Wow. >> But, this wasn't a turbo from the factory, so it's this Proto Motive turbo kit. But, I >> Uh-huh. >> cuz
>> At all? >> No, no cold air. if I didn't have to worry about this anymore drove it. >> Okay.
>> One of the problem with that, I think that's R12. It hissed when I took the cap off. >> There's no stem in it.
>> It broke off here. >> I don't know. Um that's your clutch wire. >> Oh, for to engage it? >> Yes. And this is your
>> I see. >> So, my guess will be this was just >> So, yeah. So, that's one of the problems. there, I may have spilled it when I topped it off.
>> It's yeah, it's pretty wet. >> That that's that's self-induced. Is it overflowed there onto that? So, it's gotten on the exhaust a little bit, too, you know, it's of course. >> So, we going to have to remove the
compressor and extend those the wiring right there. >> Yep. >> By the clutch, right here. right. >> And it's been broken for
>> So, it's never worked. It came from California, so he may have just not >> Around here, especially this time of year, it sure would be nice. that first. >> Okay.
paint job. >> Oh, green. >> It's got a lot going on, but also, here's another thing.
It's a twist knob, not a pull knob, you idiot. There we go. So, the headlights should be coming on. >> Brights flash. Yes, they're aftermarket modern
headlights, but even with ignition on, in there for the actual lights, so. >> Okay. >> They do have to come out, and it has like a
reason, that doesn't work either. So, it's it's a It's It's a a lot of ABS lights on. All wheel drive lights on. So, it's there's >> What? >> I love diagnosing electrical.
>> I'm not going anywhere. >> Please don't please. >> Please. This looks a little different than the old 80s 911 I had where going running down here. >> Yeah.
>> Uh >> There's a box still no. >> There's your computers down here. >> Mhm. >> Mhm. >> And [snorts] ABS pump there.
>> Uh >> Linen metallic.
don't know what for. There is a fuse missing. 2 3 4 5 6 7 fuses missing. purpose sometimes? >> Did you buy this at the auction?
auction, right? >> What? >> People will take them out so they can bid it for cheaper. >> It happened before to other people.
Okay, so there is a burnt fuse right here. So, that's going to be >> What is it labeled as? >> Uh number 16. >> Number 16.
>> ABS. >> Okay. We'll see unless it popped for a You want to turn the key on? >> Sure. >> Sure. >> [snorts]
>> I'm start it? >> Yes.
Yeah. No more warning lights. there. There's no warning lights on the dash anymore.
>> Really? That's good. Well, let's figure out the radio. Oh, low beam, left low beam, right. 22 23
a relay. So, we're going to see. from fuses. >> think so. >> And just the low beam part. This lift wasn't doing the job, so
Okay. >> Let me go get the lights. It's It's It's >> [sighs] >> We don't want to split the pumpkin. >> Okay. Yeah, I saw that. >> Is he a crush washer? Yeah, there's no
>> I saw a lot of that was this, but then there was some more up front. so I don't know if your valve covers there, Deegan. Yeah, they are. >> I didn't do anything on that side. >> Yeah, but they're all leaking.
>> They're fancy though, they're beautiful. See that? >> Yes. So, this is supposedly a full Proto Motive engine built to the tune of a hundred thousand dollars. So, that's where, you know, they do the built
internals, and then there's a fancy turbo over here, and then look at this And it kicks. It's fun. [clears throat] It's fun. [clears throat] >> [laughter]
think about this one? >> So, what I will do honestly, this is >> Mhm. >> with that and the valve covers Give it a nice bath. >> Oh, so yeah, it could be leaking down
>> But definitely you need a crush crush washer. And how old is this oil? >> I don't know. Uh 2025 it had a service. So, not too >> It's supposed to change it every year at least.
>> Okay. Well, what was here that's no longer >> Yeah. >> That would make sense. And then this is my other issue, which it looks like my
there. >> They are, yes. >> And are these Are these hard lines? >> Those they are. Uh >> I'll start with this first cuz it's
pretty wet over there. Here we can put the screw to hold it in place here. >> Okay. >> Or I mean cuz this is too short cuz it's don't think. >> So, I guess we can have Michael
like put like a piece of like a sheet metal here with rivets and Fabricate something. >> Okay. >> So, that side >> It's somewhat
like piece of metal here. >> Mhm. >> Yes. >> That'd be awesome. Okay. And then do valve covers require engine to come out? >> Um not that I see. They're right there.
>> Okay. At least on that side. On this side you have some turbo business and things. >> Yeah, but with some
>> Yes. >> And then this little it's I guess it's a torque tube cuz it doesn't spin. >> Going up to the front.
obviously shouldn't be leaking. >> Okay, so this is not your >> I hope not. >> I would laugh if this is your headlight. >> But, it's going right into the headlight.
So, you're telling me they just never plugged They're sticking out here, too. I mean, I don't know. >> Oh, if it would have had a fog light >> to have fog lights. >> Maybe it's part of the kit and they just
>> Yeah. Have you had this car in the air before? >> First time. >> Yeah. Somebody put their signature here. >> 930 Vostic
a pretty big brand there. >> Mhm. So, nothing catastrophic, huh? >> No. far as a compressor and all that stuff. >> to retrofit it and change the uh
>> Nothing bad. >> All right. and the all-wheel drive light off. It feels non-hooptyish at all. So, so I guess I'll schedule it with you when you can free up some time.
>> Oh, yeah, I would love to. >> Okay. Awesome. Well, maybe Daniel's the hoopdies on the hoopty lot and then some of my other cars can get fixed it's it's bad. It's There's a lot of broken
the garage with the big wang gang. The GT-R is back and the blue Porsche has been sitting here for about a week and you can see that is that is a lot of dribbling going on there, but uh pretty cool pair here as far as the wings go.
But, remember when I was saying how reliable my Japanese cars rock solid the SC 400? Well, it heard that and decided to let loose all of its transmission fluid, I think, because that that goes all the way
Yeah. So, so much for this one being totally fine. I think the only one of the bunch that was okay. And the GT-R, it is back. blood clot to the lungs, so that's something a lot of people don't survive.
through all that. Uh but as you can see, the bumper had a weird reaction, so the be repainted. He's not going to be in a paint booth anytime soon, so I just went sand and spray, no big deal, but I thought I could drive this thing in the
meantime since it's another reliable Japanese car. And unfortunately, it started misfiring under load after being out in the heat in the 100° weather for a long time. And it was idling because the battery was dead when I picked it
coil or something worse. I'm not sure what's going on, but it's broken as well. I've got the Toyota Prius up at the shop, the Hooptie Lot. We bought want to do a comparison video of the second generation and the third
generation. And hopefully fix that thing. But to get it down, the Chrysler wasn't on a trickle charger, and it was left on as far as not with a cutoff switch. So, it's it's totally dead. I mean, this it keeps happening and
the GT-R, that was a big surprise. So, responding in real time to this GT-R having having a failure. So, that's How Leaking transmission, bad air conditioning,
bad sensor killing the air conditioning, check engine light, stuck parking brake, no air conditioning, cracked windshield, top work problems, clutch problems, transmission leak, sitting forever, ruined, big oil leaks, misfires, not
That one's okay. The Fiat's okay. Dead air conditioner. Bad air suspension, truck needing tires, oil cooler leaks. April's cars are good. Vapor locking Wagoneer, dead top cylinders.
Wagoneer, dead top cylinders. Oh. I'll just buy some cars that aren't broken and then they'll break and then I'll buy another car and they'll break and then, you know, have a junkyard.
