[00:22] am your host, Ryan Ary. It's really good to see you guys today. And we have about. We've kind of been saving everything up for today. Uh we haven't because with the Doomsday trailer coming out, it's it's just been and then like [00:36] all this news. So, what we're going to talk about today is specifically all the MCU news and reveals we've had at SDCC. They're going to do some stuff on Saturday night. We will be streaming on Saturday night. Me and the team will be [00:49] live talking about every single Marvel reveal, breaking everything down. Really guys Saturday evening and we'll get the post live uh sometime tomorrow. so you going to be talking about the mannequin at SDCC that apparently we think [01:03] confirms Wanda Maximoff has a secret role in the movie. And we're going to be talking about Kevin Feige uh discussing mutants in the MCU and how they're already starting to appear, which is interesting because Gan Gray is not in [01:16] Spider-Man Brand New Day, as well as lots of other u news and reveals. For instance, we finally got confirmation that there's going to be one single streamlined universe at the end of the multiverse saga after Secret Wars. Kevin [01:30] Feige also told uh also said that. So, we're going to discuss all that, but I'm not going to do it alone. That seems like it would be pretty boring. So, remember in the super chats that or remember in the chat we're going to be [01:44] encouraged but not required. And a little bit we'll tell you about some fun jibberjabber for me. Let's hear from our panel of experts. First of all, you know who's trapped in our TV and doesn't know it, so please don't tell him. Mr. Colton [01:58] Ogburn. What's up, Colton? >> Hey, man. I I wanted you to know I explained to my son, no catch on Saturday. Can't play catch of any sort because I would be with you watching ComicCon. Yeah. So, he can't really play [02:13] >> He's a sack of water that smiles at this point, but a cute sack of water. like lean it up against the wall and I like throw balls at him. So, but he was >> And I think you have another couple months of that before he starts to form [02:27] memories and is traumatized by it. So, enjoy it while you can. Put them in the fridge. Do whatever you want. He won't remember it. Uh, but take them right put your kids in the fridge unless they've been bad. And speaking of people [02:40] who've been bad, love having her on. You know her from Whitney. She's already know her from Whitney. She's already into the pallet. [02:52] hear how hard I laughed. [laughter] It was really good. That was a really good >> You've been You've been bad. >> Bad. You've been right in the [ __ ] fridge. I'm gonna get put in the [ __ ] >> You're gonna get fridged. Yep. [03:07] >> Green Lantern's coming up. It's on my mind. I've been reading a lot of comics. [laughter] I guess I don't know. our one frequent female guest and Ryan's going >> Ryan's fridging me. God damn it. Not again. [03:21] refrigerators, do you guys like because now to open a refriidge from the inside, was a thing, though, because they used to have like a latch on the outside where you couldn't open it to create a more airtight seal. And that's why it [03:33] used to be a law you couldn't throw a refrigerator away with the door still on haven't looked it up in a while. I used to be on all these >> Indiana Jones needs to hide inside of it to get away from a nuclear bomb. That's [03:45] why they want the lock on. >> I stand by that scene. Everyone knows I >> Oh, I [ __ ] stand by Indiana Jones 4. Unfortunately, I'm I'm the person that >> I didn't say I stand by the whole movie. >> I do. I stand by it. I stand by it. It m [04:01] It matched the themes that were important at the time. It did. Don't >> And you're asking You mean the 1950s or the late 2000s? the 1950s. It matched the 50s, I think, very well. >> And don't for and I did also catch your [04:16] to discuss another time. But first, let me bring on our final guest, man who's you on hold right now, Alex? What's going on? through to PC Richards. I got to buy a ton of refrigerators and a lot of locks [04:30] ton of refrigerators and a lot of locks uh for no reason. So, but hope for you. I can get through by the end of the show. We'll see what happens. We got Really? Sorry. >> Oh, yeah. No. Throw me in a fridge. I [04:43] been bad. That's what I said. >> I should try to get Gail Simone on the [laughter] >> Did Gail Simone write that? See? >> Did Gail Simone write that? See? >> Uh, no. She had a blog called Women in [04:56] Refrigerators back when she was a comic book journalist. She coined the term about I want to say it was Ron Mars wrote the issue of Green Lantern where Kyle Rener discovers his girlfriend inside of a fridge and motivate [05:10] >> I I remember >> I knew I didn't know that about Gail >> Yeah. No, I was just going to say I remember when we were covering She-Hulk. I think they have a frriged joke and that's when I like learned about that [05:22] Yeah. >> We're not talking about refrigerators unless we want to let us know in the comments whatever the refrigerator. Let [05:34] us now deafly transition to uh what's coming up soon which is Marvel San Diego Comic- Con. Um you know at the Comic Con they they do at the Comic Con they do these displays at different booths and uh a lot of journalists who were allowed [05:49] in early got these really great photos. One of them is uh you can see it on the thumbnail but let's put an image up now. This is the Liverian Witch. Now, this is interesting because we heard a rumor months ago that Doom was [06:04] going to have a coven of witches or sorcerers in Doomsday. There was another image that's not confirmed to be AI or not that shows somebody one of these minions in a cockpit with the Fantastic 4. Uh meaning that [clears throat] they [06:18] could replace Doom bots, you know, like Doom normally sends robots out. Um >> looks like a robot. >> I know. >> Apparently, they switched this out overnight and now the witch is orange. [06:34] >> Oh, this is from Laughing Place on Twitter. At least I think it's orange. >> wardrobe. >> Um, this. Let's Let's go around the corner on the order we were introduced. Colton, [06:47] here? >> Well, first off, Samsung and LG fridges, reliable. [laughter] They'll go out immediately. You want to get something that, you know, has a good track. >> As far as the witches, dude, I think, [07:04] Dr. Doom, right? We've got a hero under a mask the whole movie. I think that this coven of whatever these masked people who are going to be team Doom lurking around in Doomsday, I think probably not speaking the entire film. I [07:20] think come the end of the movie, we learn, oh, that one was Doctor Strange, that one was Wanda, that one was Clea, maybe one was Sylvie. I think we're all his sorcerers are going to be people that are working with Dr. Doom for sure [07:34] come the end of the movie. And I So, they changed that that robe overnight to like a an orange. That's interesting. >> I'm wondering thought it was a lighting detail, but apparently the next day it was changed. [07:46] >> Go back. Can you go to the other one real quick? I want to see. I don't know. Okay, so it's the exact same like design. I think that might be a Is the dress white and gold or blue and black kind of thing. [laughter] I'm calling [07:59] that that's just a lighting thing. >> I think they're all light shining. Yeah, pretty thorough change, but it could be. But regardless of the color, I think you're you're on to something about uh people being in disguise um who we know [08:15] mask is kind of the point there. Whitney, what do you think? >> Mhm. >> I do think that it's it's very possible idea that there's going to be like a [08:28] like, "Ah, [ __ ] Doctor Strange is working for Doctor D. God damn it. Did they go to a doctor convention or what?" Uh, I think that that would be very, very [ __ ] cool to see. I also think that doing something [08:42] >> a doctor convention like at a Hilton. >> Yeah, exactly. They met at like one of convention at a Hilton where Dr. >> at the seminar about how to treat fridge >> Dr. Sch is there. >> Dr. Sch is there. Dr. Drew shows up, but [08:58] they boo him out of the place. It's awesome. It happens every year. Uh he keeps trying though. >> Um no, I I [laughter] whole narrative for Dr. Drew and like the whole [laughter] backstory that [09:11] distracted. >> No, it's fine. Listen, when you when you I do, you really have to think about these things. You have a lot of time on your hands and a lot of mustard, raw mustard to eat. Uh [laughter] [09:25] I I do think that it would get every it would really be surprising to a lot of people if they did this because of how many people I've seen tweeting, "What the [ __ ] They didn't bring Wanda back. They didn't bring Captain Marvel back. [09:40] No wonder they're [ __ ] No wonder Thor says they need a miracle. Of course they need a miracle. They don't have those guys. And I'm like, or do they have those guys and are they hidden for different purposes? So, I do like that [09:53] it'd be fun. I think people would be pretty pretty jazzed about it. >> Uh, yeah, I agree with what everybody's saying. I I have two main thoughts about [10:05] this. The first one is I have been wondering this entire time what who Doom's lieutenants are. You know, the Black Order I don't think made too much necessarily, but it made sense to have them there as the sub bosses before you [10:19] get to the main boss of Thanos. And it's been weird to me that we haven't actually, you know, officially heard anything about that with Dr. Doom. So even if this doesn't turn out to be a parade of guest stars at the end, just [10:34] having like a cabal of witches who are backing him up and helping him magically try to stop the incursions, whatever does make a lot of sense. The other thing, this is a very external thing, but the way they revealed this is so odd [10:48] to me. And I say that because I don't know if you saw the rest of the stuff. The way San Diego rolls out, and I assume most people watching this know which is technically for retailers, but they let fans in and everybody wanders [11:01] around to take pictures and whatever. >> From what I saw in the videos, all of Marvel booth are the ones you'd expect that have been kind of revealed already. Wilson, there's two others that I'm totally blanking on. [11:14] >> Gambit, Cyclops. >> Cyclops. That's right. Uh, and then they have lotion witch, something that we have never heard about before thrown in at as like, oh, they're trying to get people jazzed up, except it's preview [11:30] night. Like, I would understand if they were like, we didn't have there's a space there and then we reveal it on Thursday or something. But if they did actually switch it, which is not unreasonable. They do that all the time [11:43] night to night. They reveal things over the course of the con. And I'm sure we'll get more stuff tomorrow, more stuff Saturday, etc. It's just so strange to me that they were like, "And there's Lavarian witches in the movie [11:57] That's all." >> But that's what they've been doing. >> The fact that they started with the light show in Shanghai and then less light show in Shanghai and then less than one minute long, to quote you, tone [12:10] poems that aren't trailers, they were stories. Um, I'm kind of starting to enjoy this weird ass roll out they're doing. To me, it beats like finding out. >> Remember the chairs? [laughter] >> Oh, yeah. The chairs. [12:24] >> Could you imagine if they had the booth instead of the costumes? They just had >> honest to God, [laughter] >> I'm surprised it is not there. >> I would love that. >> I would [ __ ] love that. Although it [12:38] would be like 12 seconds. Yeah. But everyone would go sit in the chairs cuz and your feet hurt and you're tired and they would the chairs would get commandeered immediately. >> The tone palms thing is still [12:52] >> Oh, we do need to do chairs. The tone palms thing is still my my favorite description ever of [laughter] this marketing campaign. anytime because I day for work trying to see have the Russos said anything and every time I [13:07] watch any interview with the Russos one of them will drone on especially Joe for like two minutes and I'm like what did he say he said nothing what did and I'll [13:19] so >> I mean at this point it's a practiced art I mean they've even with Endgame remember they tweeted that weird blurry photo and I've seen Endgame out how many times I still can't tell you what the [13:31] like trolling us. >> I feel like it's me when I'm like a page short on a script and I'm like [laughter] >> anyways. Yeah, >> just add it to the beginning for the [13:43] >> right. >> So, let's just assume here. Let's assume that it is Wanda and other sorcerers, right? Do you guys want to throw out any the fun part of this. What's the logistics of this? Wanda's supposed to [13:57] be dead. Sylvie is supposed to be living a happy life at a McDonald's somewhere. the same >> like will we ever find out how Strange and Cleo like who's in there and how did they get there? Any theories? [14:10] >> I seriously doubt that they're bringing back Clea. If they bring back Clea, I will kill someone because why? No, we don't need any more people. back. I think >> for Cone. Yeah. [14:23] >> You think she's I don't want her to. There's too many people. Too many >> I don't think she has like a massive role in it. And I think that she was I think she's only on set for the taking off the mask. I think they totally have [14:36] off the mask. I think they totally have like someone else. instead of giving us two seconds of footage and then taking her. >> She's also probably never met anyone who's ever been in a Marvel movie unless [14:49] mean, these guys are never >> like when you have a cast this big, [ __ ] talked about that. Like he didn't get a chance to work with anyone >> I know. I heard that too where he was like, "I was just in a room with a green [15:03] screen and I had no idea who I was acting with or talking to cuz they gave >> Do you know what it's going to be? It's going to be Joe Russo going to a 70mm IMAX showing of the Odyssey just like a camcorder so they can get a really good [15:18] shot of Charize to put him. [laughter] >> She's good. Uh, Colton, go ahead. Give us give us some theories on this. >> Okay. Well, the last time we saw uh Strange and Clea was when she came like [15:31] seemingly like on a mission. Like she stops him in the middle of the street. You caused an incursion. We're going to fix it and cuts, you know, spaceime open and that goofy eye comes up on him and they do this weird thing and it's over. [15:46] >> It's awful. Yeah, >> it just undermines it undermines the great end of the movie. But go ahead. Sorry. I I think we totally learn Doom is on a mission to save save the multiverse. Stop incursion. So I think [16:00] multiverse. Stop incursion. So I think he totally sent Clea to go get Strange. >> Yeah, I think she's working with Doom from the start and she's gone to get >> water. Now you've got me back in. You wrote me back in, baby. Put her in the [16:15] Let's go. >> I love it because ahead. Yeah. >> Yeah. I I think MTO I think I I do think [16:27] uh Wanda because I don't think Wanda's dead. We never saw a body. We saw Mount uh what Mount Wor it collapses and you see the the red. I I think Wanda who just learned dream walking. [16:42] >> I think that somehow she like pruned herself from existence. And where you go when you're pruned? The void. And what did we see in the void? the very relief of her Scarlet Witch thing that was in Mount Wonderore. So, I could see Doom [16:56] pulling her out of that. >> I could see Sylvie, who wants Loki back and maybe was manipulated by Doom, saying, "Hey, Loki's plan bought us some time, but shit's still about to go haywire. Join me." So, yeah, I I think [17:09] that he's going to have this whole coven and they're all going to be revealed >> Yeah, >> I hope not at the end. Why not do it all these heroes struggling to go up against these people, the minute unless [17:22] the minute we start seeing red energy and runes shooting out of the the Latvian sorceress, we're going to know who it is. I I hope that it's a fast reveal whenever it happens. >> I I really like this idea, even though [17:37] I'm still not 100% convinced that it won't just be like these are a bunch of stooges that are backing him up. Oh, hello. >> It's just me. Get out of here. Everybody else, [laughter] [17:49] ahead. >> Get rid of my stooges. Focus on me. [laughter] >> Alex, it goes to Alex full screen. Oh, >> Alex, it goes to Alex full screen. Oh, >> hello. It's me, Dr. Doom. Uh, why why [18:03] >> Okay, I'll stop. If it's making you uncomfortable, I just >> No, it's fine. I like seeing all of your faces, how you react. Maybe maybe I'm talking to react with disgust. >> You do that to him. Like when they when [18:16] they put Allan Cummings in a room with no one and just a green screen. That's >> I believe it's called I believe it's Allen's coming because you're speaking [laughter] One of my favorite jokes. Sorry, Alex. Go ahead. I [18:29] [laughter] >> Okay. No, you said you like that idea. different sorcerers and um and and the reveal and the manner of how they was getting at, but I think the nice thing is there's been a frequent [18:44] out there myself, of the MCU over these past couple of years, of all the dangling plot lines. And that's a very elegant way of even if it doesn't >> hook up quite as well as Colton is laying out of being like, "Oh, that's [18:58] where they went. They went over there. We are looping back to this thing." >> Um, you you know, you could even have Bordeaux be like, "No more sorcerers. I'm a sorcerer, but none of you a sorcerer. You know, just however you [19:11] want to like handwave past it a little bit. It's a nice way of tying those things up, getting past them, quelling those like, "Oh, okay. You left that stuff behind." That's all. >> Yeah, cuz we still don't know what our [19:25] >> in 616. Yeah. >> No idea. They got He's got to be the like how they were saving Sinestro and the Ryan Reynolds Green Lantern. He's I think he is. >> He's trapped in the back. There you go. [19:39] Um that that's my guess though, that they um that I don't think Morau would whole deal is I don't like you guys having powers and I don't think Doom would recruit Morau. Um I love your thought about [19:54] >> Strange. And is that >> is that it's a little man? >> Um >> but I do wonder about Sylvie, right? Because when we left Sylvie, she was very much in this idea of like she would [20:08] want she wanted the multiverse and people to be have freedom and be free where she ended up at the end of the show. I don't think they ever actually McDonald's in the 80s. >> But what do you guys think would [20:23] possibly pull her over? >> It could be. I mean, it could be a think the way the cult was laying out each of them have potentially a vested interest in the incursion. Her might be like, "Keep my friends safe." Like, you [20:37] need to do what you want with the TVA, but leave Mobius alone potentially. going to leave Loki alone, but it could be that sort of thing. >> And she wants Loki back. I mean, they're in love. I know that's weird, but they [20:51] are. And like Okay. She Yeah, I I think she wants >> Loki and Sylvia are in love. Loki and Mobius are in love. They have just >> It's a triangle, Whitney. God, they're in love. [21:03] because you have to learn how to love yourself first before you love other >> You could have a polyamorous relationship in the TVA. Like, I think >> Yeah. >> But here's the question. I don't think [21:17] Mobius and Sylvia are involved. It's a a It's like this. It's like a >> Yeah, it's like it's like April and Parks and Wreck. How she's got polyamorous. >> Um, any other people we think that would [21:31] be fun from the past few years or even before? See, Wanda, Wanda started this saga, right? It's weird if she's not a part of this. And when you hear like, oh, okay, Wanda has joined Doom. My first thought turns to the children's [21:44] crusade after House of M. She had amnesia and her kids, Billy and Tommy, formed the Young Avengers basically and they go find her. To me, it seems like could end up. We got a a video in mind right now about the Young Avengers for [21:59] them to free her from brainwashing maybe in Secret Wars. Do you guys think it's joined in because this is a woman who's been manipulated a lot like first by >> you know? Yeah, it's because it becomes difficult [22:13] like because they've already done this so many times with Wanda. Like do you have her have like the the heel turn again just to have a face turn again or do you go the route of she's in the void and doesn't remember her life and Doom [22:27] takes advantage of that? Well, we've already seen that, too. So, already seen that, too. So, I'm hoping that maybe it's a Wanda who right thing by helping Doom because we've talked about for a while. [22:40] >> I don't think Doom is maja villain. I think he will be come the end of the film, but I think at first he's going to be making like a a decent argument for how to save the multiverse. Maybe he's lying about it, but apart from his name [22:54] being Victor von bad guy, I I think that all the Avengers are probably going to like, you know, want to work with, okay, what what can we do? I I don't think he just rolls in like Thanos, you know, I I am bad. Like [laughter] I am doomed. [23:07] >> I am I am good Doom. >> It wouldn't surprise me at all if the big postredit tease from first steps if we see that in the movie and Sue goes Victor. And he's like, "Hi, Sue." and like maybe puts his mask back on or [23:22] he's a known villain yet in their universe. >> Again, I keep going back to the Liberian delegation was at the Future Foundation. He wasn't there, but they're invited. >> Well, if anything, I think it's probably [23:35] reasonable to think exactly what you're saying. And to take it one step further, they're probably going to see the X-Men as the villains first, I would imagine, >> because they're on this other Earth and if they go the Incursion route, one [23:47] Earth needs to destroy the other Earth. after they're both destroyed. So, Victor is probably like, "Hey, in order to save this MCU Earth, you have to destroy this other Earth that's coming for you." And so, they do the classic superhero fight. [24:00] Realize, "Wait a second, we're actually on the same side." And Dr. Doom at that make the hard choice here. I got to decide who lives and who dies." And >> And Ryan, I'm sure you mentioned this in the Easter egg breakdown. I haven't got [24:13] a chance to watch it yet, but in Avengers Tower on the screens, we see between >> countdown clock, which we missed the first time. >> I think those are three three Earths, [24:25] right? Three universes. We got 616, 828, and the X-Men universe. So, what is it? Uh 10005, I think, is the X-Men universe. so many different X-Men universes. Like, I'm not even 100% sure that Deadpool is [24:41] timelines are so confusing. >> Um, >> Back to Wanda, though. Thank you. Back to Wanda and Strange and everybody. Are we 100% sure these are even the same ones that he's pulling these people from [24:55] the 616? Or do you guys think that just for this movie that bringing a bunch of there's an infinite multiverse, you know, why does it have to be this Doctor Strange and this Wanda and this Cleo? I mean, [25:10] >> I I think that it maybe Doctor Strange would be the same one, but I do think it's possible to have a different Wanda specifically just because we've already been introduced to multiversal Wandas. So, people are kind of like already [25:24] familiar with the concept of there being a bunch of her. So, I think that having her be a variant at the very least would be a smart move. >> Well, and there is 838 Wanda. >> Well, yeah. A [25:38] >> Yeah. >> Technically Wanda's dad is in this movie, too. I mean, if maybe there's a Wanda in the X-Men universe. >> Yeah. No, that would be really cool. That would [25:51] >> I think you're getting towards something interesting there with them being essentially refugees from universes that were already destroyed by incursions because that gives them >> a very vested interest in helping too. I [26:06] ahead. I don't I don't like the general idea like I hate in Multiverse of Madness where it's you bring back Patrick Stewart, it's just oh that's a professor Xavier, you know, or the oh that's a [26:21] black bolt, that's a that's just like okay I it there's no >> impact to it. Like I want them to be that one. Like it's important that the >> Patrick Stewart so many times. That man is dead. That man is dead. [26:37] Stewart in a giant mech suit, you know, like something out of aliens, you know, chair and doing that. Yeah. Just do like, you know, >> I hear what you're saying about wanting them to be the one we know. And I agree [26:54] with that on an emotional level, but I think on like a intellectual level of just thinking about the infinite multiverse like we talked about, it's really limited to saying, "Oh, this is just three Earths. That's it. There's [27:06] something I feel like we were talking about this on a previous stream, but like from Multiverse of Madness where they introduced, hey, we've got a paint different about this dimension is our pizza is round, period. you know that [27:20] there's a lack of imagination with those things when I want to see you go hog >> and they and they still don't if I ever got to interview Kevin Fe it'd probably be the last time I love him but I'd want to ask so what's the difference between [27:35] universe and a time like because I feel like he would probably just get up and >> I don't think I don't think they know yeah plan for Robert Downey J sorry Whitney what [27:47] >> oh no I was I was just joking I said ask the writer written, not me. >> I would ask him, why did Tony Stark show up at the end credits of The Incredible guys have for that? >> I would love to know that. [28:00] >> I really like the idea of the refugee thing, though. I I think that's a cool idea. And plus, because I think >> these three Earths, I think we're going to learn that most of the multiverse has died. I think in Doomsday [28:13] in in the Secret Wars comics the entire multiverse dies and that that's when he forms battle world. So if that happens >> I don't want like a [ __ ] ton of Earths >> I don't want like a [ __ ] ton of Earths but to Alex's point I get it that it it [28:27] would make like why oh it's just these three out of an infinite amount. I think it'd be a cool story plot if we learn we're the only ones left. No, I think >> I I will say this. If it's a different Wanda, I would feel cheated. If they got [28:40] Elizabeth Olsson back in these films, but she wasn't completing the arc that I really hated in Multiverse of Madness that came out of nowhere. Like, I think would love to see this suit her. But you bring up a good point about there only [28:55] being these three timelines left, right? Um Joshua Horowitz interviewed Kevin Feige recently and he said Feige said in Jonathan Hickman's Secret Wars from 10 years ago, there's a nice road map to where we can go. After the Secret Wars [29:10] comic, Marvel underwent a rebranding titled All New, All Different, which tried to get new readers to jump on this new starting point. Could this be Fei's new starting point. Could this be Fei's goal with the MCU reset? We have a still [29:22] that I was supposed to have up during this. I don't see the still. >> That was in response to >> that was in response to a question I believe of are they going to reboot and he was like not [29:35] answer. Okay, >> got it right here. Uh and while speaking to watching Hollywood in Shanghai, Feige laid out the idea behind Avengers Secret Wars. Colton, you are just teeing me up for these segways. It will establish a [29:50] for these segways. It will establish a streamlined, simplified, single universe that we can keep up with. It's you can really just hear them apologizing for the multiverse saga. Doom wants to fix the multiverse saga. Some things will be [30:03] familiar, but many many things will be entirely new. Going back to what we people and connecting with a new generation of audiences to the point of like what um oh my god Kamala Khan actress I love her so much. [30:17] actress I love her so much. >> A man thank you what she had said. Um, be about. And fundamentally, the X-Men will be at its core. And we got a little let's get some reactions on that because there was some speculation. I think we [30:32] heard a rumor that yeah, the FF would go back to their universe. And I'm like, >> You know, like why why would they do that? What are your first reactions, >> I I've found that General Electric is usually the best bang for your buck when [30:45] >> Nice. Nice. >> Go ahead, Alex. Yeah, [snorts] I have I have nothing intelligent to add. >> I was just going to I mean on the comic book Ben to throw out to everybody because there are there are basic [30:58] differences between the way that Marvel handles big events that quote unquote reboot the universe versus DC. DC has taken a lot of knocks for doing things where they do reboot it and then eventually over time kind of backtrack [31:11] they sort of have to reboot it or soft reboot it again. Hey, Black Adam completely restructured the hierarchy of the DCU. Okay, that's true. Completely restructured. [laughter] >> Um, the Marvel way of doing it is not [31:27] that like they have one ongoing continuity. And even though it becomes convoluted nonsense at a lot of different points, they don't worry about it. They're just like that happened 20 years ago. Let's just kind of move on at [31:39] to happen next. Secret Wars, to be clear about that, and all new, all different Marvel. The way that it happens at the end of Secret Wars is that Reed and the Future Foundations is the short version, essentially get the power to restart the [31:54] multiverse from memory. And because Reed remembers and knows so much, he does it pretty well. So, he remembers the Marvel Comics universe the way it happened. And differences and they've essentially just boiled down to Miles Morales is now in [32:08] the main universe because there's no Ultimate Universe. And that's pretty much it. Like the all new all different Marvel that was a way of them saying, "Hey, we're rebooting with new number one issues where you don't have to worry [32:21] about the continuity that came before. You can just jump into Iron Man number talking about a story line that happened in 1973." So, I think this is just a way is saying is I don't think they're going to reboot things or necessarily recast [32:37] he's saying is like they have the opportunity to take the Fantastic 4 and move it to the main universe. Take the X-Men, move it to the main universe, and then they can do potentially, I mean, they're not going to do this necessarily [32:51] because it would be prohibitively expensive, but do a Iron Man one with Robert Downey Jr. that you don't have to have seen any of the previous movies. That sort of thing. That's what I'm taking away from it. [33:03] talk about in just a little bit, too, involving Armor Wars. >> Well, we'll get to that in a second. Uh I wonder if that would include things like a Doctor Strange sequel, right? Where they did set up Baron MTO stealing [33:15] powers. He's I would say he's like his Lex Luthther in the comics. Like he's the villain he's most known for fighting. Um, if they could do a Doctor didn't have to see anything from before. I personally think it'd be great if they [33:28] "Yeah, do the movie you wanted to do. Do Nightmare." Like, do that and put Mortu >> I I love the idea of the MCU, and I think they kind of have reached this of them reaching a point where anything that's 15 years old, they just take the, [33:42] "Oh, who cares approach like like, >> well, that that 15-year-old movie kind >> doesn't matter." And they're kind of doing that with the Toby stuff and the the X-Men stuff, the Fox X-Men stuff. So maybe, yeah, in a few more years, some [33:57] of the early MCU stuff kind of be like, that was 20 years ago. Yeah, that'll be cool. >> It could also be a level of not making it not interconnected, but more connected by movie series versus overall [34:11] lot. >> I think so. Could you ever sit down with somebody and watch all the Thor movies in a row and be like, "Here's a cohesive story for you." And the answer is no. >> I mean, you can technically you can do [34:26] But >> yeah, free will. Free will. [laughter] >> You can't you can't even watch You could watch the Iron Man movies, I think, but Avengers. >> Iron Man 3 is totally like taking PTSD [34:40] about the entire time, >> right? You you you could you could watch that movie and be like, oh, I guess he had a battle. He's Iron Man. I get that. But you're right. And Captain America is kind of the worst series for this [34:53] >> where you're very much going, wait, last time I saw him, he was out of ice. I like who the guy who found him before. And then Civil War obviously is Avengers >> Sorry. So yeah, it might just be as simple as like Captain America series is [35:08] Captain America and Iron Man series is Iron Man. And then they come together in the Avengers, that's the thing where you stuff and jumble it up and then they split off into their own things again, [35:21] which ultimately would be much better for the MCU and get around a lot of the right now. I think >> I think I'm I think I'm finally few years. So what what you know, Colton, you know this. What's the number [35:36] one thing I say was wrong with the multiverse saga? >> No Avengers movies. No. No. No. There were no Yeah. No, there were no Avengers building up towards something. And I think that's because the reason they did [35:49] >> No, it's okay. I remember Fei. It's too late. You've disappointed me for the last time. Go in the fridge. >> Um, no. I remember Feige saying that movies, they were going to do like slow like like small crossovers, more like [36:02] Thor and Hulk meeting each other. And looking back, that's completely because of logistics because after doing Infinity War and Endgame, they probably thought Avengers movies had to be on that scale and it's impossible to get [36:14] those actors together. So, let's spend several years getting ready for that. And then that was disrupted by the strikes and by COVID. And so in the movies like Captain America: Brave New World that like pick up threads from The [36:28] like take the tapestry and reach it outwards. And Alex, I think you're people. It was too much to keep track of. where we're getting a movie at the end of this month that has Spider-Man, the [36:41] Hulk, and The Punisher in it, and probably Gan Gray. like an Avengers movie, but I mean, it's it's under the Spider-Man banner. Did you I have a question for everybody. When I watched the Doomsday trailer, [36:54] >> it did not feel to me like an Infinity War or Endgame trailer. I was getting heavy like Age of Ultron vibes. It >> I was getting Age of Ultron vibes, too. For sure. I agree 100%. >> Yeah, it it feels like [37:08] >> No, nothing. >> It feels like because Ryan, we we've complained like, "Well, we didn't get just the regular Avengers movie." It movie. Like they're there in Avengers Tower and I love Thor. Thor basically [37:23] We're [ __ ] >> Yeah. This is bad. This is really [laughter] bad. Yeah. >> Orange guy, maybe. Rock guy might be Yeah. >> Um there's a couple other things I want [37:37] to get to before we we do the super chats. Um and you know, we there's so much to talk about. Feige also said, this will be the last uh Feige oriented thing or one of the last ones that they have plans for the MCU [37:50] leading up to 2042. I will be 62 years old. I will be 62 years old. >> Jes [38:02] warranty will have expired. [ __ ] >> Well, by then the fridges will be smarter than the humans at at the rate where like fridge technology is intelligence is doubling every year. >> The next time I upgrade, I'm getting a [38:15] that it only plays Thor Dark World so that when come over, I can make sure >> get a smart fridge. They No, they don't last. They're too hard to fix. [laughter] I'm telling you, you got to get the GE. [38:28] Yeah. You know, >> I'm just thinking about how Ryan will be dead and I'll be in charge. [laughter] >> Dude, being in charge of this channel is in the fridge right now. Like, I hope [laughter] you do. [38:41] >> Please, God, don't die. Don't do >> anyway. Yeah, imagine that. Imagine I do just come in your house and I come out of the fridge and grab you like [laughter] >> Um, 2042, though. I mean, that's not [38:55] that far away. That's 14 years. That's 14 years away. >> My infant son in high school. >> My son will be in high school. That is insane. Yeah. [39:08] >> The [snorts] thing that I think is craziest about that date because while >> uh the thing that I think is craziest about the date like I don't think I think it's totally reasonable that they have you know a whiteboard somewhere [39:21] with stuff etched out and by 2042 it's like X-Men 3 question mark you know or there that's fine >> but there is so much that needs to happen before then and so much is going to [39:35] change the movie business that It's wild to think that they have any idea what's point, but I don't know. >> Yeah. And I don't think Kevin >> Yeah. >> I mean, yeah. If I'll be 62, how old's [39:49] >> he's actually younger than >> he Let me see. Kevin, He's [laughter] >> And he must be on the same [ __ ] I'm on. Yeah. He's only 53. [laughter] >> Oh, there you go. So, let's let's [40:05] actually I want to play this real quick. This is uh new. This is a part of the brand new day press stuff. This is Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal talking to IGN. And channel, Mike Misella, Doug's attorney who sent [40:17] >> Pascal. Actually, it's you put some respect on that sandwich. well. Watch. Okay, here we go. >> What the public's awareness of mutants [40:29] >> I don't [music] think I don't think anybody uses that term. Uh, I think people are aware of uh special abilities. anyone uses that term. It's almost like he would have asked what's the public's [40:45] awareness of muties at this point in five years. Whoa. Now hold on. No one's using that term right now. Flat scan. >> It's like a soft correction. It's like whoa. [laughter] >> We don't use Whoa. Whoa. Grandpa. [40:58] >> You can't [laughter] call him that anymore. Yeah, we don't call him that anymore. Okay. >> What if he was like only Satie Sink can use that word? [laughter] >> That that definitely sounds like [41:11] >> extraabled. >> Yeah, we call them extraabled now, not >> Yeah, we call them extraabled now, not mutant. [laughter] um that it seems like that they're around already. I mean, we got Ms. [41:27] kind of going Yeah. I mean >> I mean Yeah. You're taking offense on their behalf. They got to be around >> Exactly. >> Exactly. >> Well, and I think he's kind of going [41:40] says, "I don't think anyone's using that term yet." And I I snipped that clip out and us get like, you know, dinged or something or play the whole interview. Watch the whole thing. >> The whole thing. He he goes on to talk [41:53] about the Department of Damage Control and how they've been monitoring people with abilities. I really think we're going to see that just kind of be if you're a person, an unchecked person with powers, you're you're a mutant. And [42:07] maybe the DODC has like a think tank with a whiteboard of like which one of these words scares you and like they land [laughter] on mutant or something. that. >> Which one of these freaks you out the [42:20] [laughter] most? >> There's a bunch of regular slurs on >> Just regular normal slurs on there. Miss Jonah Jame [laughter] [42:35] out of here [laughter] like Jameson Creed William Striker. So that's their brain trust to figure out what term to >> I just realized I have I have neighbors that old mutants are taking our jobs. [42:49] that old mutants are taking our jobs. [laughter] >> yeah, in Texas, >> the thing I love about this, love about this whole thing of about the Department of Damage Control becoming [43:04] the Stark technology to build sentinels is it's just a natural progression of You know, I talk about this a lot. It's just my favorite anecdote. You know, in they that Marcus and Mcily wrote the part where he peers into the future is [43:19] They saw the Ancient One talking about it. So, when the MCU works great, it does that. When it doesn't, I feel like it's Brave New World, a movie that I going, "What the hell does this have to do with Captain America? Why are we [43:34] suddenly talking about the Hulk and why is Harrison Ford in it?" The the things in those movies didn't naturally lead into a Captain America movie. But yeah, that everything from the past builds up to the future. Alex, is there a [43:48] Spider-Man comic or or something where they reclassify him as a mutant or did I just make that up? I I thought I am remembering something where they do >> I don't think so. They've always been very I mean I don't know the entire [44:01] history of Spider-Man comics, but I I'll learn it next stream. By next stream while I've read all of them, >> they've always [laughter] >> Yes. We've always been very specific and it's always very weird because it does [44:15] get into that level of like Spider-Man is he has radioactive blood. How is that actually different from what's going on with mutants? He was recently they did a arc called Age of Revelation where he did get mutated by a [44:31] thing called the Xvirus. Um but he wasn't a mutant technically I don't >> X-Men, >> like the X-Men. [laughter] >> The major difference has always been um between like a mutant and like a typical [44:47] enhanced person is if you had to have something happen to you that gave you your powers that did not unlock the X gene. There's a very specific gene that's dormant in some people that the celestial gene, the X gene, uh that like [45:00] there is a pretty very firm line. And Spider-Man's not a mutant. And if they made him one, >> neither is because >> No, he's not. They just in the movie. He's not in the comics, which they make [45:13] can I hang out with you guys?" And they're like, "You are still not a mutant. No, you can't. >> You're not one of us. [laughter] >> The group that is most discriminated against are like, "No, you can't hang [45:26] >> because he's Canadian." Yeah. >> Yeah. It's because he's Canadian, and discriminate against. Speaking of which, this is very off topic, but I was everybody talking about Dr. Doom's accent and whether he should have a [45:39] they're being accurate that Wolverine should have a thick Canadian accent? >> I agree. >> They've never done that. They've given some reason a Canadian accent. >> You should be like, I'm the best. [45:53] >> Let Wolverine say a boot, you cowards. [laughter] Let him say it. >> I'm a boot to cut your head off. >> I'm a boot. I'm a boo to cut your head >> if [laughter] that's okay with you, >> pal. [46:05] >> Bud, >> Wolverine needs new Wolverine needs to say please more. That's my That's my We got some We've got some super chats to people online watching us right now, which is awesome. I want to just get to [46:20] this really quick thing. Oh, that's super e uh Armor Wars, right? So, there's rumor from leaker Jason Mack uh over the weekend said that Armor Wars is being reworked into an Iron Man reboot with a new actor as Tony Stark. [46:32] Remember, this was originally supposedly going to be about Roie, a TV series about the fallout of losing Tony and government agencies and super villains getting a hold of his armor, which is happening right now with damage control. [46:44] Um, I personally really wanted that story. Rodie's a for several years in the comics. I thought it would have been perfect and now I think the last time they asked Don Cheetel about it that I saw he went [46:57] what's Armor Wars like he's basically had Marvel rushed the announcement under orders of Bob Paycheck to like >> say oh yeah we're developing all this even know if it ever like it had writers stuff attached to it but [47:10] >> Fei did not want to announce that. It's pretty clear he he was not ready to say yeah we're doing that. It's a shame. I mean, I don't know. I would it have worked. Was it gonna be a movie or a show? What [47:25] >> It was a show originally and then it was reportedly turned into a movie, but I actually Marvel saying this, you know. >> I I think probably a show. I I don't [47:37] know if a Don Cheetel Iron Man movie. I I don't know. but that's just me. >> Yeah. I don't >> I think it depends. I I don't I don't think they will ever [47:50] I I don't I don't think they will ever do what you just said, Ryan. The thing about having like recasting Iron Man and doing that as a central thing to Armor particularly even if they're putting Robert Downey Jr. as Dr. Doom, Robert [48:03] Downey Jr. is Iron Man in the public's mind. Maybe you could do a total reboot of the MCU in 10 to 15 years with the new Iron Man. But that is not something I see happening. I mean they've they've Robert Downey Jr. like we're talking [48:19] about Dodd Cheetel they tried with Iron Hart which you know like it or not it didn't quite hit I think the way that they wanted to. So the only way of continuing with Iron Man is backing up the money truck and paying $50 million [48:33] I don't think anything like that is going to happen >> I don't think he wants to undermine Tonyy's sacrifice. I Iron Man's not a Tonyy's sacrifice. I Iron Man's not a super super popular character. Robert [48:47] popular character. >> That's true. That's pretty true. movie, if you're going to lay these two options out to me, if you're going to say, "Okay, we we can do we can focus on one. We can either do the next Captain [49:00] America Sam Wilson movie or we can do Jane Rhodess as Iron Man." Right? I personally think Jane Rhodess is Iron Man just on paper is a better premise you're going, "Yeah, there's a bunch of [ __ ] left unresolved uh from Tony's life [49:14] stories in the comics." I love what they did with Falcon the Winter Soldier. Brave New World had its moments, you know, but I I think there's a lot of good story there and a world-class Oscar nominated actor who unfortunately really [49:26] erasing [ __ ] please erase the Secret Invasion [ __ ] where Roie was a scroll during Endgame. Either address it or don't. And that's the other thing, being gone for all these years, being like, "Wait, what happened to Tony?" [49:38] watch. That's great. Like, do that they did this. I still am holding out for my Don Cheetel movie. Let's go to for my Don Cheetel movie. Let's go to some super chats. Um, we've got Private [49:51] customer store member uh store level. Thank you for that. And I want to remind you guys at our store levels, if you're at the $5 tier, you get um five you get 15% off our merch store. Uh Garzilla gave us two bucks and said, "I love Screen Crush." Not his last super chat. Monty G said, "Paul from Heavy Spoiler Smells like Comic-Con." Whitney, can you confirm? Oh, [50:32] absolutely. Smells exactly the same. >> I thought so. Uh, Weeb Keeb gave us €11 and said, "On the poster, you see Thor with orange, yellow lightning. In the you think that it could be that Thor is [50:46] connected with Heimdoll using what we see in Ragnarok? I have a an image here of this. This is the poster that's being referenced where we see Thor's axe as >> Oh [ __ ] >> This is different from the poster they [50:59] is significant or somebody used the wrong filter in Photoshop? >> Yeah, I think Okay. Well, in the that's the concept art and it's yellow in the concept art and this looks like the saturation has been boosted on it [51:12] >> which could turn that gold yellow to like this red orange color. I I think it's more of a actually like a yellow color and I think it's Odin Force which I I believe is also yellow >> in the comics and we see him praying to [51:25] Odin for help >> uh in that character trailer. So, I I think that's what it is. >> Works better than Zeus's lightning for Okay, next super chat. >> Philbo from Down Under gave us three [51:38] Aussie dollars and said, "Great to have the chick on live stream." I think >> You're welcome. >> TALKING ABOUT ALEX. >> Ryan called you a girl. [laughter] >> Jamal Oh, not like that. I don't I don't [51:52] know. It wasn't like a See, now I look sexist again. Jamal Breezy gave us two BUCKS AND SAID CYCLOPS LIKE EXCITED. >> I can't believe they're getting him to guest guest star in Doomsday after he [52:04] just wrapped the Odyssey. I mean that guy he works. >> That oneeyed son of a [ __ ] >> That guy makes good cheese. That's all I'm going to say. >> Craft services picking dudes up casually [52:17] and snapping [laughter] them off. >> A little cheese on them first. Jaden Jones just became a Screen Crush staff member. Uh so enjoy that that 15% off our merch store. Uh and then we're going to do a live stream uh a live [52:32] we're doing that. We're a couple months Master gave us 10 bucks and said, "I know you guys don't cover games as much, but I am freaking out about Cyclops being added to Marvel Tokco and Fighting [52:44] looks sick. I don't know what Marvel Token fighting game is. This is a is it 4x4 I think fighting game for Marvel. I don't remember when it's coming out. I [52:56] want to say September, but I'm just that's like off the top of my head. But yeah, it's basically like it's not Marvel Rivals. It's I think side by side like Street Fighter Capcom >> style uh 4x4. So there you go. [53:10] >> I mean Cyclops Phoenix is going to be it's pretty unbeatable. But um I'm A new trailer came out for that today, which we if there wasn't so much going quieter, we would probably cover that trailer. It looks amazing. [53:24] >> I thought it did. Yeah. >> Is that why >> Is that why on the work calendar you have that week completely blacked out >> Is that related? >> Yeah, it says it says flu. [53:37] weird that you're able to predict when you're going to have the flu. >> I know. It's a gift I have. When when the Stardew Valley 1.6 6 update came if you know what I mean. >> Oh god. I think I'm gonna get it when [53:52] GTA 6 comes out. I It's when I start >> Oh, I know. I'm also planning to get the flu then. Yeah, exactly. What a >> bad season for you. >> Or a great season. Philumba from down under uh who we actually shouted out in [54:05] our uh Easter eggs we missed video yesterday. Thanks for your observations. Three Australian dollars and said green witch three has green witch has three chains. Yellow has one chain. >> Oh, there is a difference between the [54:17] >> Okay, there you go. >> In that case, green is Sylvie. Yellow is >> Where's two chains? I want to know where two chains in all two chains in all [54:31] >> ON A BOAT. YEAH, >> thank you. Randy McDuff gave us two bucks and said, "What do we think Deadpool's role will be in Doomsday?" I about on the channel because I think they're accurate. So, I think it'll be a [54:47] >> I agree. >> I Yeah, I have not heard those rumors. So, just to throw out wild speculation that you can laugh at me about, I would lot of like the DC style red skies stuff, which is in the comic books [55:01] whenever there's an event, the skies turn red and you just get flashes of >> Like in the Flash. >> Yeah, like Exactly. Like in the Flash. So, I I think there's a lot of unannounced characters that we're going [55:14] to get in that style sequence. Whether that's due Deadpool or not, I don't series an awful lot. You know, they're goes, >> "Oh, you know, like [55:27] >> "Oh, you know, like >> a marketed role in Secret Wars." >> Like with Toby and, you know, Andrew and Hugh lot of super chats, guys. We a few more rolled in. Garzilla gave us 10 20 bucks. [55:42] Thank you again for keeping our channel alive. Could Wanda make an appearance at and Vision's return for Secret Wars or maybe even the ending of Doomsday as routes for that potential Vision heel turn? Um, I personally think it won't be [55:57] in the movie. >> Yeah, I think it'll be a movie thing for sure. >> But they'll reunite in Secret Wars. >> Completing the arc of the saga and kiss. >> They're going to kiss. They're gonna [56:10] hold hands. >> Hold hands and kiss. "Do we think we'll see Josh Brol and Cable again?" Gosh, I hope so. >> Have him fight Thanos. >> Have him fight [screaming] Thanos, YOU [56:23] COWARDS. YES. >> HAVE HIM FIGHT Thanos and Old Boy. >> You know what would be great is if they're fighting and like then you know and then like uh Deadpool's suddenly in the foreground and turns to the camera [56:36] [laughter] >> I want a shot like a like a bar in through the bar like a cantina shot in cable arm wrestling. Yeah, >> dude. [laughter] But you know like with [56:51] to read our handwriting. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. fever [laughter] drawing. Uh, but let's see. Angel man just got here. Can you guys start all over?" Plus, Colton uh message glitched [57:06] We don't have to start over for you. >> I'll start over. >> We started super chats over again. >> Anyway, our [laughter] horrible is good. [57:18] >> And Monty Gave us two bucks and said, "Bring back Riri. Tech plus magic is telling you, the Young Avengers are going to be front and center in Secret >> Video coming out about it. >> There's the mid30s Avengers. [57:33] month. >> Avengers. >> Well, I mean, >> it will be. It will be. champions, not the young Avengers. >> They'll call them champions. Yeah. [57:45] >> All right. Comic fan 8713 gave us two bucks and said, "Is the X-Men cast going watch the X-Men cast announcement here on Screen Crush in two days. We're going Driver, >> our friend MT tweeted out that Adam [57:59] really exciting. >> Like the funniest tweet I saw. >> No issue with that whatsoever. >> Not me either. >> Phil from down gave us another slurs that I might [laughter] want you guys to [58:12] >> Phila from Down Under Gave us another eight Australian dollars. Said only 616 experiments which turned her into the Scarlet Witch. That's why Illuminati under estimated her. >> Um, it's a good theory, but I think I [58:27] don't know if Wanda could bring her powers into 838 when she dreamwalked. It seemed like she was using her abilities, but maybe I'm wrong. I don't know. got powers? You're wrong. You're wrong. >> Yeah, the the Wanda and 838 had her own [58:42] powers as well. I I think it's just in the MCU what unlocked her. I I think Wanda was always a mutant. They just, you know, couldn't say it. And the what the stone did was just activated her her dormant mutant gene and other [58:56] universated when she was a kid. Remember we >> what always activates it? Trauma of any form. >> Um wee kabo, I don't know how to [59:08] rocket and group will return in doomsday. Hopefully the Guardians do. we'll see the whole team return without James Gunn. >> Yeah. Secret Wars. Yeah. Who knows? That may happen though. Uh, S. Henry Crawford [59:22] again. Wanted to shout out Alex. Alex has been shouted out. Randy McDuff gave us another $5 and said, "Do you think Spider-Man will keep the symbiant for a think they'll introduce Venom immediately? Where's Doug?" Doug is [59:37] currently going through some legal things in a a municipality near St. movie. [laughter] Personally, the whole movie. Yeah. Well, no. Have it in Secret Wars, then have the suit for a [59:51] movie, face a villain, but he can't beat without it, and then be tempted to kill him or whatever at the end because the symbiot's taking control, and then have symbiot on Venom in the next film. >> Yeah, I I think they tease it in Brand [01:00:05] New Day, he has it in Secret Wars, has it again in the sequel to Brand New Day, and then Venom in the third one. Dude, I think he's going to get it in love the original comic and I think they want to do the like that panel. I think [01:00:20] when he gets it. >> Uh, Alex Alex gave us five bucks and said, "Do we think anything from What If will be at all incorporated into Secret Wars?" >> The only thing I could see is Jeffrey [01:00:34] >> Yeah. >> Like he could show up, right? >> But even then, I wonder what his role would be. I mean, is he coming through a portal in Secret Wars? Like, I don't know. They They could have had two [01:00:46] used him. So maybe that was him going, "Look, you got to do an Iron Man. You got to do a Captain America. You got to get these guys back. This is your [01:02:59] franchise." Uh, Baby Shaq gave us $5. More Cohorty, please. That's the kind of character I [01:04:21] think would really benefit from like being on an Avengers team first, you know, where she can like be around other characters and people can kind of build up um you know, a story like with her and then it's the way the Avengers [01:04:34] gave us another two bucks and said, "Coulton's a goat." Kind of mean. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Goats all calves. That's how strongly they felt about it. I don't know why. Oh, what a what a downer note [01:04:48] to end the stream [laughter] on. >> Oh, all right.
