[0:21] I I I'm trying to gather my thoughts. I [0:23] I'm I'm trying to just [0:28] They are actually unironically like we [0:31] we got we just they are making an anime [0:35] about [0:37] drugs like just just that they're [0:40] they're making [0:42] literally the best way to summarize this [0:45] is Moa blob lolly girls [0:49] do fentanyl. That that's that's [0:51] literally [0:53] that is that that's that's literally [0:55] what this is. [0:58] Okay. Okay. We we we have finally [1:01] reached the point where we're getting an [1:05] anime about drugs and it's cutesy moa [1:11] blob characters at that like [1:15] bro. [1:17] Oh, [1:19] I I what what is the comment? [1:25] Hey, I saw this, [1:28] bro. It's [1:34] what? Like, dude, this is the craziest [1:38] anime announcement I think I have seen [1:40] in a very long time. Like I think this [1:44] is top three craziest anime [1:46] announcements because unironically I I [1:50] might get some heat for this take, but [1:52] unironically this kind of looks good. [1:55] Like it looks like something I will [1:58] probably enjoy. So we we need to just we [2:01] need to just address the elephant in the [2:02] room here. Okay. So first off, this is [2:04] being done by Studio Mappa. Yes, the [2:07] Studio Mappa. the same studio that has [2:10] made JJK, Jiu-Jitsu Kaisen, Attack on [2:13] Titan's Final Season. They've done, you [2:15] know, Hell's Paradise. They've done [2:17] Chainsaw Man, the Chainsaw Man movie. [2:20] You you get the point. They are um quite [2:22] the animation studio. Regardless of your [2:24] personal feelings about, let's say, the [2:26] anime they do, or um your personal [2:28] feelings about how they treat their [2:30] employees, the point of the matter is is [2:31] that Studio Mappa does make good anime. [2:33] They do. Like, you you can't you can't [2:35] deny that. They they make highquality [2:37] projects that legitimately are the talk [2:40] of the 2020s. Like everything that they [2:42] pretty much have made for the 2020s has [2:44] been a successful mass hit in from what [2:47] I have seen. And so when I take a hard [2:49] look at this just this anime adaptation, [2:52] this feels like a weird middle ground [2:55] between like mainstream anime fans and [2:58] then like moa blob cutesy enjoyers of [3:02] anime. And like let me let me explain [3:04] how I arrived at this conclusion. So [3:06] obviously this the the design of these [3:08] characters just straight up they're moa [3:10] blob. They are like the traditional [3:12] cutesy moa blob like characters that you [3:14] know you can see in a lot of comedy [3:16] slice of life shows. And the fact that [3:19] you have studio Mappa that is very well [3:21] known for making hyperrealistic or [3:23] trying to make realistic looking anime [3:25] that's just you know very mature [3:27] looking. I mean let's let's like let's [3:28] look at Chainsaw Man or you know let's [3:30] look at JJ K. Seeing them go into a Moa [3:33] Blob adaptation is honestly it's a [3:36] whiplash. Now, I'm not saying they [3:37] haven't done stuff like this before. [3:38] They've done some different projects in [3:40] the past, but this one really just takes [3:42] the cake because it's like it has a [3:44] blend of the art style that a lot of [3:46] traditional anime fans enjoy, but it [3:49] also clearly has action and quite a an [3:52] interesting topic. A very interesting [3:54] topic that um I feel like uh is it's a [3:58] dark topic actually. I I I feel like [4:00] looking at this, this is probably going [4:02] to be a very dark anime. Like the front [4:05] appearance of this seems to be kind of [4:07] just very funny or comedic and all that. [4:10] Don't take it too seriously. And I could [4:11] be wrong, maybe you shouldn't, but I [4:13] feel like this is going to be like a [4:16] kind of a very dark title kind of [4:18] addressing just like the damage that [4:20] stuff like fentanyl and stuff like that [4:22] can do to people. And I mean, I'm all [4:23] for that. I think there's nothing [4:25] necessarily wrong with that, but it's [4:26] just it's quite a quite a different [4:28] anime. like it's not something I [4:30] expected Studio Mappa to tackle, but [4:33] here we are. Um, I will say though that [4:37] first impressions of this, I'm not [4:40] against it. I like I said, I know [4:41] there's going to be a lot of people that [4:43] are going to be like, "Oh no, what is [4:45] this?" Like, "This just looks like like [4:46] there's going to be propaganda and [4:48] stuff." And maybe there might be, but [4:49] the point is is that I don't really hate [4:51] it. There's not anything about this so [4:53] far I've seen that makes me want to [4:55] outright hate it. I think it looks [4:56] cutesy. I think it's probably going to [4:58] be it's going to tell a very dark story. [5:00] Probably going to have some funny [5:01] moments as well. It's going to have some [5:02] crazy animation. I mean, this sequence [5:04] alone is just insane, by the way. Holy [5:07] crap, that tongue detail, by the way. [5:09] But, um, like it's Yeah, I I I feel like [5:12] this is this is going to be interesting. [5:13] I I'm excited, honestly, to see when [5:15] this comes out because, uh, we don't [5:17] necessarily know exactly when this is [5:21] coming out. Like, it's a working title [5:23] apparently, like Gimoto Psycho. So, we [5:25] we don't know if it's going to air this [5:28] year or next year. I'm going to assume [5:30] by how these announcements work, we [5:31] might get this maybe either at the end [5:33] of this year or the beginning of next [5:34] year. I could be wrong. This is Netflix, [5:37] by the way, that announced it. So, it's [5:39] it's entirely up to how Netflix wants to [5:40] release schedule stuff. But yeah, I I [5:42] kind of wanted to just take a few [5:43] moments to talk about this because it's [5:45] like, yeah, that title I'm not lying. [5:47] That's a real title that it's it's not [5:48] even clickbait. I mean, look what you [5:50] see on screen. It's it's absolutely [5:52] wild. So, I I'm interested to see. I [5:55] feel like Mappa could tell a very mature [5:56] story while also having some uplifting [5:59] and comedic moments. So, let's let's [6:00] just see how this goes. I will [6:02] definitely be watching this with great [6:04] interest in seeing, you know, when I I I [6:06] don't know if we got a staff reveal or [6:08] not yet. So, hopefully like when more [6:10] information comes out about this, you [6:12] know, or I might make a follow-up video [6:13] tomorrow if I need to. If there's more [6:14] information that comes out, I I will [6:16] discuss it. But, uh, thank you so much [6:17] for watching. May all of you have a [6:19] fantastic day or night wherever you [6:20] live. Be safe, stay healthy. She be out.
