[00:00] It was announced in November of 2017. The Tesla Roadster is coming back. It's going to be revealed on October 1st. It's coming October 1st, everyone. Hold your breath. Get ready to cash in those deposits you put down 17 years ago.
[00:12] In 2017, nine years ago. Here's the thing that surprises me. It looks like the Model 3, but like slightly different bodywork. Why did it take nine years? Because they made a lot of statements about what it could do. They promised that they would do 0-60 in under two seconds.
[00:25] They took 10 years to come out with the car. In the meantime, they themselves made a car that does 0 to 60 in under two seconds, the Model S Platte. This car was so delayed that they beat it themselves with another car. It was also supposed to be four seats somehow and 620 miles of range.
[00:40] 620 miles of range? I suspect that none of that could be true. What's it going to cost? I'll buy it if it's 620 miles of range. When it was revealed, it was going to be $200,000. I suspect that will not be the case. I also don't know what they will show at this October 1st event in Texas.
[00:53] They're coming up on 10 years of this vaporware trash. The teaser image has like a huge wing upside down, but a huge wing. And so maybe it'll be like this, but with a giant wing. Don't you kind of worry that still there's not been one single successful two-door EV, like a sports car EV?
[01:09] I would have delayed it, but not due to it being hard to engineer. Just be like, let's shelve it. When this car was first revealed, they didn't know that the two-door EVs wouldn't succeed. However, since then, there have been several automakers who have attempted to make two-door supercar EVs,
[01:21] which this was at that price point at that performance level. They've all failed unequivocally. I mean, it's all been a disaster. And yet here we are.
