[0:00] Just before GTA 6 pre-orders kickoff, [0:03] Rockstar Games has revealed the [0:05] exclusive contents of the Ultimate [0:07] Edition. Described as an exclusive [0:09] collection of premium vehicles, weapons, [0:12] apparel, and action, this GTA 6 special [0:15] edition is not just a $100 splurge, but [0:19] also our latest insight into how we'll [0:21] interact with this massive criminal open [0:24] world. Read closely and between the [0:26] lines and you'll find dozens of gameplay [0:28] details here revealing brand new [0:29] activities like stolen goods fencing, [0:32] fishing, and car restoration projects. [0:34] And so we don't have to wait until the [0:36] November 19th release date to start to [0:38] understand exactly what we'll be up to [0:40] on the streets of Vice City. Here are 22 [0:44] new GTA 6 gameplay details right now. [0:48] Pit Young's illegal goods store is [0:50] described as a gang compound, which [0:52] sounds like an activity type. Rockstar [0:55] explains that you'll raid the compound [0:56] of one of Southside Vice City's loudest [0:59] and most socially active gangs. And so [1:01] it may be that gang compounds are [1:03] somewhat akin to outposts or enemy [1:05] strongholds in other openw world games. [1:08] Hit young may be just one of many [1:10] compounds. The description says you'll [1:12] need to escape safely to score some [1:14] special items and distinct contraband. [1:17] While words like contraband are thrown [1:19] around casually in GTA, it seems like [1:21] buying and selling stolen goods will [1:23] actually be an important activity. One [1:26] of the Ultimate Edition exclusive cars [1:28] is the 67 Vapid Dominator buggy, which [1:31] is stored at the Paradise Garage in [1:33] Watson Bay. Said garage features a [1:36] secure place to deposit stolen goods to [1:38] be fenced. It certainly looks like we'll [1:41] be running some kind of stolen wares [1:43] business. And how do you get those [1:45] illegal goods? Very possibly by boosting [1:48] gang compounds and heists, of course. [1:51] There'll surely be heists. The Paradise [1:53] Garage also features a weapon locker, a [1:56] feature that will be familiar to GTA [1:58] online players. Since landing in the [2:00] hospital or being busted by the cops [2:02] usually strips you of all of your [2:04] weapons, this will be a way to ensure [2:06] you have guns ready and waiting for you [2:08] when you're released from custody. [2:12] It seems like garages will not be the [2:14] only place you can store weapons, [2:16] though. The Ultimate Edition's Shih Tzu [2:18] Squallow boat is equipped with an [2:20] explosive laden weapons crate. This may [2:22] simply be a box of bombs, or it could be [2:24] a spot to hide whatever guns you want. [2:26] And if a boat has weapons storage, then [2:29] it's possible that car trunks can be [2:31] filled with rifles, too. The pre-order [2:33] bonus 55 vapid stainless sedan has a [2:36] weapons locker, which perhaps functions [2:38] similar to how you stored weapons on [2:40] your horse in Red Dead Redemption 2. It [2:42] seems like GTA 6 will not only be more [2:44] ambitious in its realistic simulation of [2:46] life, so functional car trunks don't [2:48] feel out of the question. [2:52] The GTA 6 website notes that the Shih [2:54] Tzu Squallow is perfect for casting in [2:56] Gambit Bay and reeling in catches of all [2:58] sorts, suggesting fishing has finally [3:01] come to GTA. And if you can catch fish, [3:04] that would also point to some kind of [3:06] new inventory system to keep them in, as [3:08] well as potentially a cooking mechanic. [3:10] Or you could just throw your catches [3:12] back to the dolphins. [3:15] We can see scuba diving equipment on the [3:17] Shih Tzu Squallow. So, it seems like [3:19] underwater activities are back. If you [3:22] prefer things to stay on the water's [3:23] surface, Jason has a Crest brand kayak [3:26] at his safe house. He also has a Dinker [3:28] Endora, an off-road tail bike. It looks [3:31] like off-road races will certainly be a [3:33] thing in GTA 6, as the aforementioned 67 [3:36] Vapid Dominator buggy offers impressive [3:38] off-road handling for the backwoods of [3:41] Mount Kalga and beyond. The same [3:43] description makes mention of the mud [3:45] club, and we saw that messy crew getting [3:47] excited about trucks and beer in the [3:49] first trailer. Could we perhaps join the [3:50] Thrillbilly Mud Club to participate in [3:52] their events? [3:54] In other car rellated activities, The [3:56] Ultimate Edition features a special [3:58] commission that tasks you with tracking [4:00] down a variety of abandoned classic cars [4:03] and bringing them back to their former [4:05] glory. This sounds like it could be [4:06] GTA's answer to Fortza Horizon Barnfinds [4:09] and could make for a cool campaign long [4:11] side quest. While the classic car [4:13] collection will be exclusive to the [4:15] Ultimate Edition, it could well be that [4:17] there are other special commission [4:18] activities awaiting us in Leonida. [4:23] Of course, we can't discuss cars in GTA [4:25] without considering modifications. The [4:28] new details confirm that mod shops are [4:30] back and seemingly more extensive than [4:32] ever. Customization now extends to car [4:34] interiors, but it looks like many of the [4:36] old classics will return, including [4:39] wheels and paintwork. Off-road [4:41] modifications will also be available, [4:43] transforming cars into all-terrain [4:45] vehicles. The Ultimate Edition also [4:47] includes a mod kit for Jason's Vapid [4:49] Gardo called the Retro Build. Perhaps [4:51] we'll be able to purchase preassembled [4:53] bundles of mods to create specific [4:55] versions of cars rather than just making [4:57] individual tweaks. [5:00] Some cars don't need modifications, [5:02] though. Not if they look like the 95 [5:04] Groty Cheetah. The Cheetah is, of [5:07] course, one of those classic GTA cars, [5:09] having been featured in almost every [5:11] game since GTA 3. Interestingly, while [5:14] GTA 5's Cheetah was inspired by the [5:16] sleek Ferrari Enzo, GTA 6 brings back [5:19] the old Testostera style design from the [5:21] original Vice City. According to the GTA [5:26] 6 website, the cheetah is available to [5:28] punctuate later stage action, suggesting [5:30] that Jason and Lucia only gain access to [5:33] it in the story's second half. This may [5:35] be the case for many of the Ultimate [5:37] Edition bonuses, which Rockstar says are [5:39] threaded across all aspects of Jason and [5:42] Lucia's story, with new items uncovered [5:44] behind each chapter. Rather than just [5:46] being dumped on you in a neverending [5:48] parade of pop-ups when you first boot up [5:50] the game, these additions will be [5:52] provided at specific milestones, perhaps [5:54] with their own story beats. A very [5:57] important thing noted through the [5:58] Ultimate Editions offerings is that [6:00] several stores are only open for [6:02] business with the Ultimate Edition that [6:04] includes two mod shops, Ride Out Customs [6:07] and OneEyed Willies. It also includes a [6:09] range of clothing stores, a salon, and a [6:12] tattoo parlor. While their ranges will [6:15] be exclusive to Ultimate Edition owners, [6:17] what they sell does help paint a picture [6:19] of the vast levels of customization [6:21] available to all players. As you'd [6:24] expect, we can choose how both Lucia and [6:26] Jason style their hair. Jason can also [6:29] opt to wear facial hair, while Lucia can [6:31] have her nails painted. All these [6:33] services are available from Sarah's [6:34] unisex salon. And so it may be that [6:37] gender specific salons exist across the [6:39] city, providing more specific [6:41] treatments. Perhaps we can customize [6:43] Lucia's makeup, for instance. We can [6:45] also see both characters wearing [6:46] earrings and jewelry across the numerous [6:48] new screenshots, suggesting that [6:50] clothing and accessory choices drill [6:52] down to the minutia. [6:55] One of the Ultimate Edition exclusive [6:57] stores is Electric Fang Tattoo, which [7:00] will ink you with one of over 50 tattoos [7:02] designed by real life Brooklynbased art [7:05] collective fail. GTA has a long history [7:07] of collaborating with real life artists. [7:10] The most obvious one being radio [7:11] stations stuffed with hit songs. But its [7:14] TV shows have also featured real [7:15] comedians. And so this tattoo parlor [7:17] represents a widening of that blend of [7:19] real people and imaginary worlds. [7:24] Talking of TV, one of the Ultimate [7:26] Editions bonuses is a collective of [7:27] apparel inspired by Macka the Gator, a [7:30] hit television show in Leonida. Both GTA [7:33] 4 and 5 featured watchable TVs with full [7:36] schedule of programming. So, it seems a [7:38] safe bet that A, working TVs are back, [7:41] and B, Macka the Gator and his colorful [7:44] animal friends will be part of the [7:46] broadcast. [7:48] A TV will likely be found in your safe [7:51] house. It may even be this one. Every [7:54] GTA has had at least one place where you [7:56] can kick back and relax, and GTA 6 will [7:59] be no different. The website refers to [8:01] the house we saw Jason living in at the [8:03] start of the second trailer at his safe [8:05] house. So, expect the usual save and [8:07] sleep options here, plus potentially [8:09] more mechanics like those [8:10] affforementioned weapon lockers. When it [8:12] comes to safe houses, perhaps the most [8:14] memorable of them all is the Vetti [8:16] estate, the massive mansion on the [8:18] original Vice City Starfish Island. [8:20] While GTA 6's version of Vice City is [8:23] very different from its PS2 predecessor, [8:25] we now have confirmation the mansion is [8:27] back. Ultimate Edition owners have [8:29] access to a pair of Hawk and Little [8:31] Morgan revolvers which have been sourced [8:34] from the Viceti estate. While that's not [8:36] confirmation we'll physically go to the [8:38] mansion to retrieve the guns ourselves. [8:40] Nor is it confirmation Tommy Vet will be [8:42] in the game, it does point to Rockstar [8:45] weaving more continuity than ever before [8:48] between its old PS2 games and its more [8:50] recent output. Currently split into the [8:52] 3D and HD universes. Have those [8:55] timelines been recconed or stitched [8:56] together in GTA 6? We know Phil Cassidy [8:59] is back. We saw him on the TV in the [9:01] second trailer. So, there's certainly [9:03] more connections to the past going on. [9:05] Each of the Viceti estate revolvers have [9:08] been personalized with custom grips, [9:10] engravings, and added extras. Jason's is [9:13] a fixed with a massive high-powered [9:15] scope replicating Vice City Story's [9:17] equalizer revolver. Another Ultimate [9:19] Edition bonus is a pair of similarly [9:21] customized semi-automatic pistols for [9:23] the duo. And so both sets point to an [9:26] absurdly granular level of detail when [9:28] it comes to weapon customization. This [9:30] isn't just about functional mods like [9:32] silences and scopes. It's about [9:35] showcasing personality. [9:37] The fact that both Jason and Lucia can [9:39] have their own individually customized [9:41] weapons suggests their loadouts are [9:43] their own. And if one of my other [9:45] theories proved true, that cars can be [9:48] used as weapon storage, akin to RDR2's [9:50] horses, that would likely mean our [9:53] protagonists can only carry a couple of [9:55] weapons at a time. Without the entire [9:57] arsenal in a weapon wheel, they'll need [9:59] a place to keep their extra firepower. [10:01] And so this could lead to builds, [10:03] choosing the right weapon loadouts for [10:05] the job ahead of time. Perhaps you can [10:06] kit Lucia out with shotguns and SMGs to [10:09] have her storm the front lines, while [10:11] Jason hangs back with a sniper rifle to [10:13] provide overwatch. GTA V provided some [10:16] opportunity for tactical choices via its [10:18] three protagonists. But this kind of [10:19] approach could raise GTA 6's firefights [10:22] to a whole new level. [10:25] That's a lot of speculation, though. So, [10:27] let's get back to the facts. [10:28] Pre-ordering GTA 6 nets you access to [10:31] the vintage Vice City pack, which of [10:34] course is full of plenty of callbacks to [10:36] the neon soaked 1980s. The first of its [10:39] bonuses is the 55 Vapid Steiner, the [10:42] yellow and white sedan that was always [10:44] parked outside of the Ocean View Hotel [10:46] in GTA Vice City. The description notes [10:48] that it has a secure place to deposit [10:50] stolen goods to be fenced. Yet another [10:53] insight into how the stolen goods system [10:55] will work. The vintage Vice City pack [10:57] features a weapon pattern which is [10:59] presumably a skin to be applied as part [11:01] of the weapon customization system. This [11:04] particular pattern is special though as [11:06] its bright blue palm tree look is taken [11:08] from Tommy Veti's iconic Hawaiian shirt. [11:11] The pre-order bonus costumes and [11:13] hairstyles don't have direct links back [11:15] to Vice City, but Jason's linen suit [11:17] jacket with its rolled back cuffs [11:19] certainly nods back to Tommy's light [11:21] blue suare suit. While the pastel purple [11:24] trousers are a similar shade to the [11:26] two-piece worn by his lawyer, Ken [11:28] Rosenberg. Finally, there's one detail [11:30] that looks back even further than the [11:32] 1980s. In this poleside image, we can [11:35] see a set of folded dollar bills that [11:37] feature an old man. His beard has a [11:39] distinctive V cutout, and his hairline [11:42] mirrors it. While the money clip covers [11:43] his face, those other details make it [11:45] clear this is President Harden, one of [11:48] the former US presidents in Red Dead [11:50] Redemption 2. This isn't the first time [11:52] Harden has graced the $100 bill. A [11:54] similar bank note could be spotted in [11:56] GTA Online's the contract add-on. And [11:59] those are the 22 details we spotted in [12:02] the latest GTA 6 information drop.
