> Source: [Huge GTA 6 Build Leak Threat Was Fake](https://youtube.com/watch?v=9gkBujJAkCk)

## Summary

The video discusses the revelation that a widely reported GTA 6 build leak threat was a hoax, originating from a fake Twitter account and propagated by gaming outlets like Insider Gaming without proper vetting. The creator apologizes for spreading the misinformation, analyzes the motives of the leaker group 'Cyber Leak' (concluding it's money-driven), and shares lessons about media skepticism.

### Key Points

- **Creator's Social Media Avoidance** [00:02] — The creator avoids Twitter and Facebook, citing them as main vectors of misinformation, yet still fell victim to a hoax reported by multiple outlets.
- **Frozen Blueberry Recall Analogy** [00:15] — Uses a humorous analogy about a frozen blueberry recall (E. coli, highest risk level) to illustrate avoiding social media like poison.
- **Falling for the Hoax** [00:41] — The creator admits to being 'hook, line, and sinker' deceived by a fake GTA 6 build leak threat, which was picked up by Insider Gaming and other outlets.
- **Misinformation in GTA 6 Leaks** [01:37] — Highlights the pervasive misinformation around GTA 6 leaks, noting that even seemingly legitimate outlets failed to verify sources.
- **Apology for Spreading False Info** [02:20] — The creator apologizes for spreading the false information, comparing it to 'making like a Thanksgiving turkey' and spreading it, due to misplaced trust in journalistic processes.
- **Mainstream Journalism's Reliance on Tweets** [03:01] — Criticizes mainstream outlets for basing articles on tweets without vetting, noting that tabloids often do this, but gaming outlets like Insider Gaming were expected to have oversight.
- **Author's Public Apology** [04:26] — The article's author publicly apologized for falling for a fake threat in haste, and the article was removed; a redacted article was published 8 hours later explaining the error.
- **Dilemma of Unlisting Videos** [05:05] — The creator debated whether to unlist the video, recalling past criticism for hiding mistakes versus being attacked for knowingly spreading misinformation.
- **Cyber Leak's Motives Questioned** [06:43] — The creator initially believed Cyber Leak's motives were money-driven despite a manifesto citing industry grievances, viewing it as a smoke screen.
- **Token Burn as a Scam Tactic** [07:12] — The token burn by Cyber Leak is compared to common crypto scam tactics from 4-5 years ago, where devs burned tokens to lure suckers but still rug-pulled through other means.
- **Crypto Pumping and Vested Interests** [08:34] — Warns that crypto holders have vested interests in promoting the token, spinning fairy tales to avoid being left holding the bag.
- **Charging for Ad Space** [09:57] — Cyber Leak is reportedly charging exorbitant amounts (e.g., $165,000) for ad space on leaks, which the creator sees as clear evidence of money-driven motives.
- **Unlikely to Have Complete Build** [10:25] — The creator doubts Cyber Leak has a complete build, noting they've only shown basic gameplay and haven't featured main character Lucia, suggesting limited access.
- **Disagreeing with 'For Gamers' Narrative** [11:48] — The creator rejects the narrative that Cyber Leak is doing this for gamers, arguing the message is about making money, evidenced by the shitcoin and ad charges.
- **Lesson Learned: Verify Everything** [12:56] — The creator learned that publication doesn't guarantee accuracy; if he can't verify information himself, he'll take it with a huge grain of salt.

### Conclusion

The video concludes with the creator's apology and a valuable lesson about media skepticism: even reputable outlets can spread misinformation without vetting, so personal verification is essential.

infuriating. I have not been an active Twitter user in quite some time, many moons, and I avoid Facebook like the plague. I treat Facebook like a handful of frozen blueberries. No thank you. I'm not trying to get poisoned. For those
that don't know, by the way, frozen blueberry recall, it's a big deal right now. E.oli concerns. It's been upgraded to like the highest risk level that they to like the highest risk level that they they can offer. Defcon 20. So, I'm led
to believe that if I was to pop a couple frozen blueberries down the gullet, it'd be like taking a cyanide pill out of a spy movie. Anyway, the point is, I don't go to those two places, which are the main vectors of misinformation and just
main vectors of misinformation and just general garbage. And yet, yesterday I still, hook, line, and sinker fell victim to a complete load of horse hockey that had been picked up by numerous outlets reported as true. and
left up for by the time I covered it like six or eight hours, something like that in that general ballpark. I believe they really got me good on that one. The old Pull My Finger, a classic. So, this was the article that I was showcasing in
a video I made yesterday covering the latest development in the GTA 6 leaks. Comes from Insider Gaming, but had been picked up by multiple other outlets as well. This was just the coverage I chose to go through for the video, but it had
made its waves elsewhere. And it turns out it's all based on a fake account, which means the whole thing was baloney, a full-blown schmemeckled thing here.
video, there's so much misinformation around the GTA 6 leaks, which is why I it. This one I really wanted to talk about because it seemed legitimate it's being picked up by outlets like this, they must have been verifying and
vetting the sources here. So, even if it wasn't something that I could publicly gone through like a different channel like a Telegram or something in order to their end since they're reporting it now in a [ __ ] lengthy article proudly
published on a mainstream site that is supposed to house accurate journalism whose entire [ __ ] purpose is ensuring accurate reporting. But I guess there's no real process there at all. They just [ __ ] start spitting
whatever out they want there. So huge apologies for me. I'm sorry. I made like a Thanksgiving turkey and just spread that [ __ ] because I just had trust that there was some kind of process in place to ensure that this was accurate. I am
not on Twitter. So I had no idea that this was just a Twitter hoax. That was the origin of where this came from. Apparently that had been picked up by these [ __ ] sites here in order to just quickly fart these articles out
covering GTA 6 leaks. So now, and it's something I've talked about, like these mainstream journalists, a lot of the articles, and it's been mainly tabloids, do just use tweets as like, well, here's what's
series of tweets from, you know, [ __ ] Phil Cheeseburger and whatever. And like tabloids are always something that is very clearly bogus. But for places like Insider Gaming or some of the other like gaming outlets, I still had this
assumption that there was some oversight or process to ensure accuracy behind frolicking around picking tweets like it's daisies and then making entire articles based on it without ever even vetting to check it. Like YouTubers
gets all of the information from a tweet, they get dunked on. Rightfully so. I don't do that. I'll sometimes show tweets that give like a quick concise breakdown of the story, but I always go to like actual sites that cover it,
as well if the the information there is accurate or if they're just Twitter that's just completely fraudulent. It's such an unbelievable nuisance. The state of [ __ ] mainstream journalism has been in the
shitterter for a while and it just keeps getting worse. Like I understand how what's real and fake with the GTA 6 just due to the volume of all of it and how like fake sites are popping up, people claiming to be the leaker, sometimes
even like elaborate hoaxes around it. But as like an organization like Insider Gaming, I still would have expected some level of due diligence and at least an attempt which clearly just wasn't even made. The author of the article made a
public apology saying in their haste to keep up with the GTA 6 leaks fell for a fake threat to release a build of the game and reported it and apologized for the blunder and then it has since been removed. And then 8 hours ago at 3:00
removed. And then 8 hours ago at 3:00 a.m. a redacted uh article was published going over basically how wrong it was and everything that stemmed from it being incorrect reporting. I was in a debate
on whether or not to unlist the video because when it's YouTubers, it's a don't, you're getting gangdom styled on a couple years ago where there was a story I covered that stemmed from an
individual making this claim against somebody else that a lot of other people were picking up and confirming it and the source itself turns out was wrong the source itself turns out was wrong and lying. So I unlisted that video. I
publish a video correcting it. Like, hey, that turns out to have just been a lie from this person and everyone else that had covered it from like the once again like the other outlets. That is also incorrect. But then I got
criticized for trying to hide my mistake. So, by unlisting the video, I was trying to run away from being wrong. But had I kept it up, I would have been attacked for knowingly spreading misinformation. It's it's always like a
rock and a hard place situation there. So, ultimately, I decided to unlist the this was the bulk of what I talked about. There was more I talked about that I'm just going to regurgitate here in regards to like the crypto stuff with
in regards to like the crypto stuff with Cyber Leak as well as like the ad fee on like what they're charging for ads now with the leaks and all of that. and also my opinion on if or if they even have a build cuz that is still a topic. This
may have been a fake threat about releasing a build, but there is still a conversation around whether or not they do have a functional build of the game, explore. So, I'm still going to yap about that. But since a lot of what I
talked about stemmed from the threat here that isn't real, I did just decide to unlist it since that's just wrong. First thing I want to reiterate, my initial impression when it came to Cyber Leak and their motives was that it was
all money driven like this was to make a big load of bucks here [ __ ] Scrooge McDuck level wealth even though they had published like a manifesto outlining all kinds of very legitimate grievances with the current state of the gaming industry
with all of these terrible anti-consumer practices. To me, that just felt like a very convenient excuse and like a smoke screen to make it seem more altruistic than it actually is. In every piece of footage they release, they have a crypto
footage they release, they have a crypto plastered all over it out the wazoo. And plastered all over it out the wazoo. And yesterday, it was shown that there was a big burn of tokens, dev tokens that were burned. And then people were parading it
around is like look see they've done this burn to prove that it's not a scam that it is legitimate and it's not about the money. And I want to just once again drive this message home that four or five years ago during the wild wild west
of crypto scams where everyone was having piss drained from their balls, their bank accounts emptying because of FOMOing into every shitcoin they could find. A very standard thing you'd see from a lot of these meme shitcoins is
this big song and dance. This big public spectacle they make out of the devs burning all their tokens as a way of getting suckers in saying, "Hey, look. See, come on in. The water's fine. It's safe. We burned our tokens." And then
still they could inevitably rug through other means. So, the fact that they burned their dev tokens here does nothing to prove to me that they're still not just in it for the money or looking to rug this down the line in
looking to rug this down the line in different in a different method. So, that still I firmly believe the main motivator behind all these leaks is the money that they are able to make off it because their crypto has been exploding.
That [ __ ] has been pumping like a [ __ ] It's also important to realize that a lot of what you hear about the crypto from your peers and from strangers online is going to be fraudulent because they have put their
money into it. So now they have a vested interest in getting more people on board so that way they're not the ones left holding the bag. So it is always in spinning these [ __ ] fairy tales about it. And it was a standard standard
tactic we saw back during the crazy shitcoin craze where a bunch of drones that had already put their money in were now just starting to sing the gospel, preach about how great it is and why you need to invest and like all this
evidence about how it's legitimate just so that way others could come on board so they could eventually dump the bag there. So take all of it with a grain of salt. There is nothing here in the Cyber League crypto that proves to me that
it's really about sending a message and taking a fight to, you know, Sony Rockstar and Take Two for their terrible practices. Like everything they they've like said with the lip service are like very agreeable things. There
are very real problems in the gaming industry that I yap about, people constantly yap about, and that they're even talking about. But their actions seem far more money motivated than just trying to stick it to them. And
especially because they are aggressively hosing and milking everything out of this that they possibly can. So this has been reported for two days now and from what I can see on my end is real. They are actually charging for ad space on
leaks and they're charging an exorbitant amount. But even if they were only charging a handful of the balloons, that very clearly speaks volumes to what the actual motive is to make money off of what they have here. And speaking of
what they have here, I want to opine on whether or not they have a complete build of the game since that's been a big conversation. I don't think there is a [ __ ] chance in hell they have a complete build in the game. I do think
they have something playable because there is a clip that they leaked where they shoot the word leak into the side of a building. So, they're playing something, but the only morsels that they have shown have been basic gameplay
mechanics and showing like very standard things. They're not showing anything heavily story related. They haven't even shown Lucia, you know, one of the main characters, the character that has really been the most heavily marketed
for GTA 6, hasn't even made an appearance in any of their leaks. And if they really wanted to show that they've got the nuts here, like a complete build, I have to imagine they would have been showing like actual story
significant elements here in order to really have Take 2 sweating. But since that hasn't happened, I'm led to believe that what they have is like a very small have access to. But I think they do have access to something playable on their
end. I don't think this is just like footage that they were able to lift off an employes [ __ ] Google Drive or something that they recorded with unregistered hyper cam 2 or or whatever. It does seem like they do have something
that they can play. Anyway though, I do disagree with the narrative that Cyber Leak is doing this for gamers. It's a righteous movement here. Like the Joker care about the money. This is about sending a message
when really the message that I'm receiving here is that they're looking to make a ton of money off this. Because again, if it wasn't about money, why even have the shitcoin? Why even be pumping the crypto? Why be trying to
pumping the crypto? Why be trying to look for people to pay you $165,000 to advertise on the leaks? It's not something that someone that doesn't care about money would be doing, I don't think. Anyway, though, uh it's
still a crazy situation here with the GTA 6 leaks and made even crazier by the fact that you can't even trust the information that comes from actual information that comes from actual outlets. like reputable outlets now are
are just willing to run hog wild with something that they don't even bother to something that they don't even bother to vet or check in any capacity at all and just throw out there. So now I've learned a very valuable lesson that just
because it comes from a publication that doesn't mean that what they've done is accurate reporting. So if I can't verify it myself, then there's a huge grain of
salt I'm going to take it with. Prior to this, like I said, I always assumed that access to that I don't, like where they talk directly to whatever the source is, or they go through like multiple channels in the organization to confirm
important pieces of information like this. But that has been shown to not be the case. So, that is a lesson learned. And once again, I'm sorry about that. I do apologize. Anyway, that's really about it. See, you
