[00:02] huge class buffs and nerfs coming with the next weekly reset with some of the top performing specs of this week seeing some major nerfs. There are quite a lot of changes to the season two set bonuses and many of them won't provide anywhere [00:15] near as much of a power spike as they used to. We also have some important updates regarding Spark of Tides acquisition and how Blizzard intends to create a level playing field for the start of season two and quite a lot of [00:28] players have had their special rewards from season one completely removed. break it all down in this week's WoW news video. Now, before we jump in, be sure to hit on that like button and subscribe so you never miss another [00:41] Let's kick things off with the first round of buffs and nerfs in patch 10.1 and you might want to sit down for this one, especially if you just started gearing up an arcane mage or other flavor of the month spec like blood [00:54] death knight. For the death knights, sanguine blood will see a few nerfs. Visceral strength was reduced to a 6% bonus down from 10% and transfusion increases dancing rune weapon damage by 5% down from 10%. So, blood death knight [01:09] won't be quite as strong as it has been in this first week. For frost decay, they're going to see a 9% boost to all of their damage done, so that's always nice to see, but it does come at a cost. Their new two-set bonus was reduced down [01:22] to a 1% attack speed bonus per stack down from 2% and the icy death torrent damage bonus was cut in half down to 2% per stack instead of 4% per stack. So, you'll deal more damage baseline, but that set bonus won't provide as much of [01:36] a bonus next week. And then there are no changes for unholy this week, so they afraid. Demon hunters are up next with a lot of changes for devourer. They'll see a 14% damage boost across the board, which is [01:51] quite a meaty aura buff, but then reap, cull, and eradicate damage will see a 12% nerf. Though eradicate's AoE damage was increased to 90% of the base damage up from 85%, so you shouldn't lose as much damage on the cleave or AoE portion [02:07] of Eradicate. But the real nerve is to the new set bonus. The four set used to generate eight soul fragments, which would be a huge chunk towards your next meta, and it would provide a big chunk of fury generation. That's been cut down [02:20] to just two soul fragments, and the reap damage bonus was slashed in half as well. So the new set bonus won't be anywhere near as powerful as it should have been, but you should deal more damage baseline without the set. [02:33] Druids have a few quick changes for restoration this week. They'll get a 4% healing boost across the board, as well as a 20% buff to all of their damage dealt. It kind of feels like the dev team aren't too sure what to do with [02:45] resto druid right now, but those buffs should help out at least a little bit. mastery four set bonus is getting buffed to let cobra shot benefit from beast to let cobra shot benefit from beast cleave at 30% effectiveness up from 20% [03:00] and deal 20% more damage per stack up from 15%, so at least there are some set bonuses not getting nerfed as we head into next week. Then we come to the mages, who must be quaking in their boots, but it's [03:13] actually not as bad as it could have been. There's the 3% damage boost across the board, which you probably weren't expecting, but that buff is to try and offset these next nerfs at least a little bit. The new two set bonus had [03:25] its arcane missiles damage bonus cut down to 5% from 20%, which is already quite painful, but then the four set damage bonus per stack was reduced to 3% from 5%. The arcane mage season two set bonus was one of the most powerful in [03:40] the entire patch, so it's no surprise to see it get smashed by the nerve hammer. With that being said, you should actually do more damage next week when compared to this week. We just won't get quite as big of a boost when those new [03:53] set bonuses come into play. With how good arcane is right now, this definitely could have been worse. Mistweaver monks have a couple of buffs healing boost across the board, and their new four-set bonus had its [04:08] activation rate increased by 33%. So, good news for the monks this week. Now, disc priests, on the other hand, have some major adjustments considering how close we are to season two. They'll see a 30% damage nerf to all of their [04:23] damage dealt, which is a wild adjustment if you've been working on getting a disc priest ready for season two. And tropic rift damage will see a 20% buff, and then atonement will transfer 46% of damage into healing, up from 32%. So, [04:38] juggling act. Hopefully, this doesn't affect your healing throughput too much, but you won't be dealing anywhere near as much damage moving forward. For holy priests, enlightenment now regenerates mana 25% faster, up from 10%, so you [04:53] should have fewer mana issues as a holy priest in season two. For oracle, words of the wise now increases the healing of holy word serenity and sanctify by 40% up from 10%, which is a pretty hefty buff. Prompt prognosis healing was [05:06] increased by 55% and preventative measures now increases prayer of mending measures now increases prayer of mending healing by 40% up from 15%. So, hopefully, holy priest can hold their own a bit better in season two. [05:19] Surprisingly, the rogues weren't left out this week. Assassination will see a 4% damage boost across the board, so that's always nice to see, and then subtlety is getting a 6% buff to all of their damage done, though they will see [05:32] a nerf to their new four-set bonus. The effectiveness has been cut down to 60% from 100%, so that's definitely not ideal. For the shamans, enhancement is getting a quick 5% buff to all of their damage [05:44] done, and there's no compromising nerfs to set bonuses or anywhere else. So, that's simply just more damage to look forward to next week. Warlocks were almost left out. They just have a quick change for demonology, and [05:58] this time a set bonus is actually getting buffed. The demonology two-set bonus now causes wild imps to implode at 350% effectiveness to their main target and 315% effectiveness to other targets, up from [06:11] 250 and 225% respectively. the warriors. Arms warrior is in the crosshairs, but it's not a blanket damage nerf. There was a bug that was causing Slayers Executioner to provide [06:25] double its intended benefit, so that being fixed will reduce Arms warrior's overall performance. And then for Fury, they're going to see a 6% buff to all damage dealt, but their four-set is getting nerfed like many others. The [06:38] bonus was reduced to 3% per Bloodthirst with a 6% cap, down from 5% per Bloodthirst with a 10% cap. Now, all of these changes will go live with the next weekly reset, which is the start of season 2. So, that's Tuesday [06:52] the 18th for NA realms and Wednesday the 19th for EU realms. It's also worth noting that we have a rough idea of when we might see more class balance tuning changes. The dev team released this little roadmap of dates to expect more [07:06] changes. So, our first round is for August 18th. That's this round of buffs and nerfs. We should expect some more tuning the week after on August 25th, and the week after that on September 1st. But then we should expect a large [07:20] break until September 22nd. So, I guess the dev team want to give everything a bit of time to settle and for players to work through the new raid and mythic plus season before fine-tuning things later on. I imagine the dev team will [07:33] also be quite busy with BlizzCon, which is smack-bang in the middle of those dates. Now, the blue post does note that we'll see additional tuning passes as super duper broken, it should get fixed [07:46] quickly even if it's outside this rough road map. But, how did your class fare through this first round of balance tuning changes? And do these buffs and nerfs change your plans for season 2? Let me know in the comments section [07:58] below. It's not just class balance tuning this week. A lot of trinkets have seen some big buffs and nerfs, too. Most will see a buff of 15 to 30% with a few getting nerfed by the same amount. Key call outs [08:12] would be the gaze of the Ansear trinket seeing a 20% nerf, so you want to replace that a bit faster next week. Gobbo's Bottomless Bag saw a 29% nerf to the secondary stat effects, and this one was at the top of a lot of classes [08:26] trinket lists, so that nerf might knock it down a peg or two. Baelgorn's Final Stand also caught a 10% nerf, so if you're still rocking that trinket from season 1, you'll want to replace it a bit sooner as well. With so many [08:38] adjustments and with some of them being quite considerable, it's probably worth double-checking your best-in-slot lists and simming any new trinkets that you get next week. That's still not all though. Patch 12.1 [08:50] introduced a new combat potion called Liquid Luster. This potion provides you with a ramping versatility buff that lasts for quite a while, but it wasn't super strong, so it's been more or less ignored. So, the dev team decided to [09:03] buff it up by about 150%. The higher rank now grants 420 versatility per stack up from 167 per stack with the lower tier providing 358 per stack up from 143. So, this potion may become your best option if your [09:20] damage profile matches the ramping nature of the buff and your spec happens to love versatility. Now, in other news, one major problem that a lot of players ran into this week is weekly quests not rewarding their [09:33] sparks properly and some players being able to get three sparks, while others dependent on whether or not you completed the Midnight World Tour quest in season 1. If you didn't, you could get an extra spark and be ahead of [09:47] everyone else. Well, the dev team is actually fixing this in probably the best way that works for everyone. When season 2 starts next week, everyone will be able to get four sparks total. So, the seasonal cap will start off at four, [10:02] meaning no one should be able to go above that, but anyone left behind in this first week should be able to catch up, no problem. You'll be able to pick quests that were available this week, and with everyone having access to four [10:15] sparks, that means everyone can craft some huge upgrades right away, including two-handed weapons for the melee and casters. Myth crests become available next week, as well, so you'll be able to craft an item level 331 weapon, which is [10:29] going to give you a massive power spike in the very first week of the season. Against the Void weekly quest in Silvermoon is finally available to pick up on NA realms. EU realms had this quest right away, but it was missing on [10:45] NA for some reason. We only have one option instead of the usual four, so I hope you weren't entirely done with the Vaults of the Titan tech just yet, but picking up your Spark of Tides, and you can get your first Silvermoon citizen's [10:59] emblem to start working towards that new campsite unlock. players ahead of everyone else is that some folks were able to get a season 2 bonus roll in this first week from the Sporefall raid quest. This was fixed [11:13] very quickly to stop the quest rewarding the new bonus rolls, but we weren't sure what would happen to the players who already obtained them. Well, the dev week that all of those bonus rolls have been removed in a hotfix. So, no one [11:27] the start of season 2. That means everyone should actually be on an even playing field this time around, which is definitely a nice change of pace. players have been losing. There have [11:42] been reports of players losing some huge end of season one rewards as well. It seems like more than just a few players have had their Ashes of Al'ar and mounts removed. This was the mount reward from clearing Mythic Jaina, the very last [11:54] boss of season one. Apparently, any player who had their mount removed received a mail that says, "During a recent review, one or more rewards gained on the account were connected to activity that violates in-game policies, [12:06] so the mounts have been removed." There have been a lot of posts on Reddit, so this definitely isn't an isolated case, but most instances seem to point towards paying for a boost Mythic kill and the mount being the reason why they have [12:19] been removed. In some instances, players are saying they were in a group that was were part of the actual group and not getting boosted, but they still lost their mount. So, I guess the dev team are taking a much stronger stance on [12:33] boosting moving forward, even though we don't actually have any official announcement yet. But, this is still definitely something to keep in mind if the Mythic raid towards the end of season two to earn the new Mythic raid [12:46] mount. This mount specifically seems to have cost anywhere between 2.5 million and 3.5 million gold, so those players are out whatever they paid for their boost and the mount itself. That's definitely going to sting. [13:01] Boosting for prestigious rewards like achievements or mounts has always been a bit of a hot topic in the WoW community, but it had more of a spotlight shown on it towards the end of season one as many players were buying boosts to get a 1% [13:13] mount from the Mythic plus system, which was rapidly pushing up the 1% cutoff, creating a bit of a race right at the end there. So, it will be interesting to mounts, though that may be more difficult when compared to the mythic [13:27] raid mounts, but how do you feel about boosting for these kinds of rewards or boosting in general? Should the dev team try and put a stop to it altogether, or should they let the game's economy just do its own thing? Let me know what you [13:40] think in the comments section below. And then to round out this video, I know patch 12.1 just went live and everyone is gearing up for the start of season 2, but the brakes for this content train broke a long time ago. Patch 12.1.5 is [13:55] means the PTR for that patch should become available for testing very soon. Most PTRs have started up the week after a patch goes live, so we could see a patch goes live, so we could see 12.1.5 on the PTR as early as next week. [14:09] updates in this next patch, including labyrinths, which are supposedly going to be mega delves, as well as a new raid, which may be more than just a one-boss raid like the lair boss. We're [14:21] also going to see some mysterious new content and systems, which we have no idea about whatsoever. So, this could end up being a huge patch, but we'll know more about it when the PTR becomes available, probably next week. But, [14:34] that's all of the updates we have so far, so that's it for this week's WoW news video. How did your class fare in the first buffs and nerfs, and how do you feel about patch 12.1.5 already lurking just over the horizon? Leave all [14:48] below.
