[00:00] Welcome to the Heavy Spoilers Show, I'm your host Paul, and this video, we're breaking down House of the Dragon. The New Exha hair trailer has just dropped, and throughout this video we'll be going [00:14] through it all. We're going to answer the big questions like what's going on with Ranera, what's happening with Ormond, and Kanaman ever truly pull off a summon shoot. Anyway, I just want to play the trailer first though, and then we'll get into the breakdown [00:26] itself. [00:50] Renera, this week, can't suit a draw. You will have justice. I will never have justice. But what crumbs of it may be snatched, I will devour. [01:05] We'll fight on our own terms. My purpose is to restore the right for lying to the Iron Throne. Renera is no queen. [01:18] The new dawn is coming. And she'll certainly fail. Everyone of my miseries is of his making. And I swear I'm going to find him and fucking kill him. [01:31] I am my father's heir. This is the moment you become a queen. The patient, hunter, gets the kill. [01:44] Come on! The crown is awake that crashes. Renera will do in the end what she has to do. [01:58] And what she has to do will be dire. Have you not betrayed your queen? You can burn us. You can kill us. You will never make us embrace her. [02:14] I wear my father's crown. My enemies will not deny me my ready. [02:26] Another trailer is made primarily of action shots and the odd dialogue here and there. There are some standout moments throughout that kind of hint to some of the things that are going to go down. As a side tangent, I've been covering HBO shows for that I will like about 8 years of something I want to say. [02:41] And I have a fair idea of how these weeks ahead trailers tend to work. Normally they tend to basically be an episode 2 trailer with the odd shot from later down the line thrown in to tease some of the bigger things beyond. [02:53] Because of that though, I think the majority of this teaser is probably going to be 60% episode 2 and then maybe 20% episode 3 and then the rest after that. As for the trailer itself though, the tagline reads, justice will be taken one crumb at a time. [03:08] It plays off a line around a 33 second mark where Renera talks about justice and snatching the crumbs of it. I will never have justice. But what crumbs of it maybe snatched? I will devour. [03:21] The trailer leans heavily into Renera's evolution from the more measured queen of season 2 into someone willing to devour whatever scraps of power she can. This is driven by the loss of her family with Jason's death having profound repercussions. [03:34] In the past she's been criticized for being passive and having absolutely no agency but it looks like they're going to finally make her vengeful. We open in the aftermath of the battle of the gullet and see Baylor sweeping the skies still burning the survivors. [03:46] We then get down to Renera saying, Jason and I believe that they may have actually brought her son's body before her. The shots of Baylor could be her searching for the downed son who was last seen floating in the sea. What I think this is is also because at the 7 second mark we cut at the dragon pit and see Baylor and a group of men slowly marching in. [04:02] I think they might have actually found Jason and then brought her before Renera which is also why she says, What have you done? What have you done? In these shots we can also see Baylor walking along with the gods behind her carrying something on their shoulders almost like a coffin. [04:17] So I think Jason's body will be delivered to the queen and she then talked to Jason as if he was alive. Although I haven't seen the episodes beyond episode 1, I have read some of the reviews and I know that they're going to be making Renera mad a mad woman. [04:31] In the book, she kind of flies off the handle a bit and it lays the groundwork for the mad king and Danny. Eventually we can see Renera accepts his death though and is riding in bed while Damon asks, Will you let him die in vain? [04:44] He's clearly being called back to dragon stone and will likely then ride out with her to see his king's landing. Which I think will likely happen in episode 3. We're also going to the shore after the fight and see callers washing up on the sand. This is him coming off the end of the battle of the gullet and after the battle he famously said, [04:59] If this be victory, I pray I never win another. I think this will likely happen at the start of episode 2 and then he may accept Alan and Adam as Valerians who also have Renera as well who's returned to the veil. [05:11] She's currently a bit worried her dragon's been out doing some friendly fire and is probably looking to return here and act like it never happened. Wasn't me mate, I was at the veil a whole time. Staying here is something the character does in the book though and she actually remains there throughout the story. [05:26] How about they have combined her with nettles for the show so I do feel like she'll probably be dragged back into the war. We then cut to Orman's forces marching across the land while he says Renera is weak and unsuited to rule. [05:38] At the front of his legion we can also see Tissarion who's Darren's dragon from the book. Darren is currently with the night as well and acting as a squire and they're riding out her negotiate with the blacks. Orman actually gets a lot of focus in the trailer and this makes me think he's going to be a big part of the first half of the season. [05:54] His page count isn't that high in the book and that's why I think these will likely be those early few episodes. We also have Renera standing in front of a burning fire what I think are the greens belongings. This is probably after she takes King's Landing and then the greens try and take it back. [06:09] Speaking of them, we then see their banners flying high with Orman before cutting to Christen Cole and Gwayne. They see Aemon and Vega swooping overhead and are likely going to make their way to Harren Hall. Later in the teaser we see the characters assault on it with Vega burning the stone pillars that exist at the castle. [06:25] Or the Hall. Aemon seems to be marching upon it himself though and it's at this point that he's going to meet Alice Rivers. Burned by the blacks she's going to end up comforting him and the pair actually have a child that may eventually lead to Brennan Rivers. [06:37] Murring is assault be also the Alice and at the red keep while a dragon flies high above the dragon pit. Now I believe that this is one of the blacks and they've arrived here now that she's open up the doors for them. And rolled out the green carpet. However it's also possible that this is Aemon as the dragon sounds and looks a bit more like Vega. [06:55] Why I'm thinking this is as well is because Indica with this are all the scenes of him at Harren Hall including him having a meal. So this could be him departing for Harren Hall and Alice in looking like that because she's finally got his son out of danger. [07:08] When it comes to Harren Hall he uses this as his base and will burn the riverlands while the blacks take King's Landing. As for Alice and so the sun we see his escape the caravan that he was catching puttin he stabs a guard and then hobbles out off-road with Larus behind him. [07:21] It looks like this call was ambush while they were traveling and then Egon uses a means to escape. He keeps talking about how every one of his miseries is the making of his brother and that he's going to find him and fucking kill him. He does say him so he's not referring to an era and we are going to have a civil war within a civil war. [07:37] I don't think they'll change it so that he does kill Aemon though but we do know that he is going to drag in stone. He then lays alone waits for a nearer and makes a devastating move that shifts the tide of the war. We then see what I believe is the taking of King's Landing with the blacks flying over the wreckage of the gullet before then descending on the red keep. [07:54] Here we can see Caraxi's and a bit of a shit segway mate but we've just launched our Caraxi's in the spy chair at the merch store below. Comes in lots of different colours and also this double sided print which has a cool logo over the pocket and a print on the back. [08:09] We've got lots of different houses to the dragon stuff on there too plus if you buy more than one you get stackable discounts. Buy two you'll get 12% off. Buy three I don't know how much it is off the top my head but if you buy more than that you get more and more and more. [08:22] So we are saving you money. If you give us money but thank you if you picked one up. We see a nearer and the throne room while Damon dispatches the green forces. The throne gets a lot of focus itself along with the greens drawing their swords to stand against them. [08:35] In the book the gold cloaks actually sided with Damon because he'd been their Lord Commander for years and years. He'd fought alongside them in the past and they were like oh mate's back and quickly fell in line. Damon is also clearly falling in line as well and is kind of like [08:49] Rodinira's enforcer at this point. He's fully bent in the e and is ready to fight for his queen no matter what cost. Now in the book they do end up killing Gwayne at this moment but I don't think that's going to happen in the show. [09:01] It's said I think they might do something else and just have them take the kingdom while Gwayne's out with Kristen. We also see a battle with the Winter Wolves. It's possible that this could be the battle by Lakeshore which is the bloodiest land battle in the entire war. [09:14] This appears throughout the trailer with the wolves in Ormond guys getting a lot of focus in the quick cuts later on. The timing is also a bit over the place and I did say in my episode one breakdown that it looks like they might be skipping this battle. [09:26] However I do think that's what could be going down here but let me know below if you think it's something else. So yeah that we then start to get a lot of montage shots which could really be anything and there's not enough context around them to guess what's what. [09:38] How about we do see Alison running through the red keep which is likely during or right after a nearer is taken a hold of things. She hands over the keys in the book and Helena is then mentally tortured by a nearer. The sun's head is apparently said to her in a chamber part and she ends up throwing herself off a balcony. [09:54] We get a shot later with her that's pure cinema at one minute 42 where she looks up while her hair blows back. This does kind of come across like a vision and as we know the character has foresight. So she may be witnessing something down the line and this could be what sensor off the deep end. [10:10] Now I'm going to be honest mate she doesn't seem to have been that asked about blood and cheese rise in the book this center into a very deep depression. So when the head came is she went absolutely acca and just threw herself over the balcony under the spikes below. [10:24] Yay! Now this could also be that moment as well with this being right before she tommens herself. It's also possible that she's before a dragon as well and about to say dracaris so that this then takes her out which we have seen in the show before. [10:36] We then hear lines about the crown being away that crushes and serenity are holding this rather than wearing it. This is her father's crown as well which also belonged to Jeharris both were keepers of the peace but under her rule things have descended into war. [10:49] We also see them potentially not in the dragon seeds with everyone looking to health. In the wide shot at 1 minute 26 we can see a pile of green furniture and cloth which I think is what Runeera burns around 33 seconds. [11:02] Her rule is pretty unpopular and we see the gold cloaks marching through the streets and beheading people. Yours have Alison saying what she does will be dire which is match with Alison marching in a sweet sweet cloak. Looks great that mate and I don't know if I'm reading into this a bit too much but it does seem like she's almost in mourning and has probably watched Helena die. [11:21] If they bring the guayne thing in as well it could be a reaction to that too. One of the most interesting shots I think follows immediately after the Helena one where we see them gripping a dragon's egg. I'm actually really curious about what this actually is as three of them were sent away with the young Egon embassaris. [11:37] These likely went on to become daddy's dragons even though like I remember the showrunner weirdly saying that they weren't. And then I think they had to come out and clear it up that they actually were. So who knows but in the book Egon embassaris are aboard the gay abandoned which is seized before the battle of the gullet. [11:51] Egon manages to get away while the sereness is captured and sold by loha but they've obviously skipped over that. Or at least this one the dragons are running out though and on the green side we just have vega on Sunfire left. [12:04] In the book Sunfire is still alive at this point with them taking part in a battle but being unable to fly or tick to wing as they say. But eventually it does and is never seen again. There are some characters that switch sides as well and take their dragons with them. [12:18] But so far the blacks have a lot of dragons and this egg represents that they could have another on the way. So the egg is actually pretty important as a plot device and though it likely won't hatch until daddy's day it's still symbolic of how they hold all the power. [12:32] After this the trail then rams up with Reniro just seeming a bit annoyed at everyone mate and it doesn't look like she's gonna take it anymore. She then goes through the keeps surrounded by bodies and leaves awake of blood behind her. [12:44] This eventually leads to unrest at the kingdom and Reniro and the blacks being ousted which is where I think we'll end up the season. We also have the moon of the three kings period and the small folks riot which will likely be in response to her tyranny. [12:57] The timeline could be changed though but personally I think that's the way things are gonna go. Anyway that wraps up the teaser and of course love to hear your thoughts.
