[0:00] If you're a complete beginner or a small [0:02] YouTuber, one of the things that could [0:03] be holding you back is SEO. And listen, [0:06] if you're anything like me, SEO, tags, [0:08] description, all of that [ __ ] is a [0:11] snoozefest. It is the most boring parts [0:13] about this entire process. But the worst [0:16] part is that it's one of the most [0:17] important. So that's why I'm going to [0:19] try and make this as painless as [0:20] possible for both of us. Now, if you [0:22] don't know who I am, my name is Romero. [0:23] I've been doing YouTube automation since [0:24] 2018. I've made over $1.9 million across [0:28] all of my faceless YouTube channels. And [0:29] that's pretty much it. I don't have much [0:31] of a personality. I need to get better [0:33] at intros. Anyways, let's go ahead and [0:35] get started. So, what's the truth about [0:36] tags? Is it actually important? Is it [0:38] something you need or are you just [0:39] wasting your time? Well, if you've ever [0:41] heard a YouTube coach say that you don't [0:43] need video tags, I want you to let them [0:45] know that I said that they can go [ __ ] [0:47] themselves because that's exactly what I [0:49] did. I would listen to coaches that say [0:51] SEO doesn't matter. video tags don't [0:53] don't have any importance with the [0:55] algorithm and because of them I wasted [0:57] years of my life. Listen, we're at the [0:59] end of 2025. We're about to hit 2026. [1:02] YouTube has changed a lot. It is not the [1:04] same as it used to be and that's because [1:06] they soft launched Gemini. Now, if you [1:08] don't know what Gemini is, Gemini is [1:10] Google's chat GBT. It's their own [1:12] version, right? And they implemented [1:13] Gemini into YouTube in late 2024. Point [1:17] is, they've been training it this whole [1:18] time. And what they've been training it [1:20] to do is to scan videos. They're [1:22] essentially trying to replace their [1:24] employees, the the human reviewers. Now, [1:26] it is very important that I say that [1:28] YouTube did not announce this. This is [1:30] not confirmed. This is just a theory [1:32] that I have. I think it's a pretty good [1:33] [ __ ] theory, right? But it's not [1:34] confirmed. Anyways, my point is YouTube [1:37] now uses AI to identify what your video [1:40] is about and to send it out to the [1:42] correct audience, right? So, now it's [1:43] even more precise with how it's going to [1:45] recommend your videos. So, when it comes [1:47] to SEO, you can argue that now it's one [1:49] of the most important parts of the [1:51] entire process. So, do yourself a favor [1:53] in your tags. Fill them up all the way. [1:55] Use tools like Vid IQ, TubeBuddy, Next [1:58] Lev, whatever it is. There's a bunch of [2:00] free [ __ ] out there. Just please make [2:02] sure you fill up all of your tags. Okay. [2:03] Now, what about video descriptions? Do [2:05] video descriptions really matter? Do you [2:07] have to make them long? Do you have to [2:08] make them short? Do you have to put [2:09] hashtags? Do you have to put links? [2:11] Easy. Use Chad GBT. So, what you want to [2:14] do is give your entire video transcript [2:15] to Chad GBT and you want to give it this [2:17] prompt. Pretend you're an SEO expert who [2:19] specializes in ranking YouTube videos in [2:21] Google search results. I'm giving you [2:23] the full transcript of my video. Based [2:25] on it, write a YouTube description [2:27] that's strategically worded to rank high [2:29] on both YouTube and Google. Use high [2:31] traffic keywords and make it sound [2:33] natural and persuasive, not spammy. [2:35] Prioritize retention, relevancy, and CTR [2:38] keywords, and structure it like a [2:40] professional SEO copywriter would. And [2:43] that's pretty much it. You don't have to [2:44] go too crazy about it. Now, remember, [2:46] you have to make your tags and your [2:48] description very, very specific and [2:51] detailed. And that's because you no [2:52] longer want to just rank high on [2:54] YouTube. You want to rank high on [2:56] Google. Because what I've noticed is [2:57] that they're both kind of merging [2:59] together. Now, what about video titles? [3:01] Should your keywords be in the front of [3:03] your title or in the back? That's not [3:05] important. Matter of fact, every video [3:07] title you create, it needs to be based [3:09] off of a successful YouTube video, [3:11] right? That's how you should be doing [3:12] YouTube to begin with. If you've been [3:13] posting original content for the last 2 [3:15] 3 years and you haven't seen any [3:17] results, I'm going to give you a word of [3:18] advice. Start following the trends, man. [3:20] Go to your niche, find your competitors, [3:22] and create video titles and get all of [3:24] your video ideas based on what they're [3:26] posting. Now, what about thumbnails? Do [3:28] thumbnails have anything to do with SEO? [3:30] Technically, no. But with the whole [3:32] Gemini thing going on right now, and [3:34] with my little theory, I'm pretty sure [3:35] it does. So, I think having text on your [3:37] thumbnails is very, very important. And [3:39] here's more advice. Don't add more than [3:41] four words. Make the text yellow. Add [3:43] black drop shadow and put it on the [3:45] bottom left of your thumbnail across the [3:47] board for any niche you could think of. [3:49] That's kind of how it works. Now, what [3:50] about what you actually say in your [3:52] video? Your actual transcript. Does that [3:54] matter? Again, yes. Gemini analyzes the [3:56] entire transcript of your video. That's [3:58] how it's able to tell if it can monetize [4:00] it or not. Like if you say anything, you [4:02] know, for example, you know, not [4:04] communityfriendly. [4:06] I almost just said it for some reason. [4:08] But if you were to say anything that was [4:10] out of pocket, then obviously YouTube [4:12] has to tell somehow. But yeah, I mean, [4:14] if you're on topic with your video, then [4:16] it kind of automatically happens. Now, [4:18] what about audience retention? Like the [4:20] actual time that they spend watching the [4:21] video. So, let's talk about that. My [4:23] advice to you is that you don't post a [4:25] single video that is shorter than 8 [4:26] minutes. The longer you can make your [4:28] videos, the better. And the sweet spot [4:30] is about 13 to 14 minutes. Anything over [4:33] 20 minutes is also pretty solid. Now, [4:35] for a YouTube video that is 14 minutes [4:37] long, you want to have at least a [4:39] 5minute AVD. For anything that's over 20 [4:41] minutes, you want to have at least a [4:43] six-minute AVD. Now, of course, this is [4:45] just based on my experience. This is [4:47] just based on my analytics, what I've [4:48] seen, and that seems to be kind of the [4:50] sauce. But here's the thing. If you have [4:51] a high CTR, anything over a 13%, and [4:55] your AVD is, let's say, 3 minutes, your [4:58] chances of competing in rank is still [4:59] relatively high because you got to have [5:01] one of the two. It's either going to be [5:02] high CTR or high AVD. So, try to get [5:05] good at one. Now that we're on topic, I [5:07] get a lot of questions from members in [5:09] my school community, and they always [5:10] tell me, "Hey, um, I'm trying to get the [5:12] video tags from competitors, but they [5:14] don't use video tags." And then I go [5:15] ahead and check out who their competitor [5:17] is, and it's some random YouTube channel [5:18] with like 2 million views, and they [5:20] average 100,000 views per video, and [5:22] it's like, no [ __ ] You know, they have [5:24] way too many subscribers, and they have [5:26] reoccurring viewers. So, tags, I think [5:29] they don't really care. They have a fan [5:30] base that is going to watch their videos [5:32] regardless. So, you have to find those [5:34] competitors that kind of have a balance. [5:36] You know, they don't have too many [5:37] subscribers and not every video they [5:38] post is a banger. You want to get tags [5:40] from those guys. But anyways, what [5:41] should be your focus? Should you focus [5:43] on pleasing the audience or pleasing the [5:45] algorithm? And again, from experience, [5:47] complete honesty, you got to sell out at [5:49] first. You have to sell out. You know, [5:51] that's what I did. I sold out for the [5:53] first 2 3 years. You got to get on the [5:55] good side of the algorithm first because [5:56] if not, it's not going to push it to an [5:58] audience, right? Your content could be [5:59] good. whatever structure you have for [6:01] your videos could be great, but if [6:02] you're not cool with the algorithm, [6:04] you're not meeting a certain standard, [6:05] which was the AVD and CTR. You know, [6:07] you're never going to find that [6:08] audience. Again, it doesn't matter what [6:10] your content is, how great it is, how [6:12] high your quality is, how funny you are. [6:14] The algorithm could care less. You got [6:16] to focus on the analytics first before, [6:18] you know, trying to please the audience. [6:20] Now, what about uploading times? What [6:21] time should you upload your videos? It [6:24] doesn't matter, right? As long as you're [6:26] not posting at like 4:00 a.m., you [6:28] should be fine. If you live outside of [6:29] the US and you're targeting US-based [6:31] viewers, try to schedule your videos to [6:33] PST time. So, I would say anywhere [6:36] between 8 to 9:00 a.m. PST. At least [6:38] that's what I do. The latest I've ever [6:40] uploaded was 9:00 p.m. PST, but I've had [6:42] a lot of students in my school community [6:44] get results posting at like midnight. [6:46] Now, what about video category? Does the [6:48] category of your videos really matter? [6:50] Not anymore. Uh, I mean, YouTube kind of [6:52] did it at the beginning because they had [6:54] specific sections where it'd be like, [6:56] "Oh, the top 10 uh videos in the sports [6:59] category and people would care, you [7:00] know, people would watch that." Yeah, [7:02] nobody cares. It's kind of like [7:03] subscribers. It's not important anymore. [7:05] And if you're not sure what to [7:06] categorize your your YouTube channel, [7:08] hey, just ask Chad GBT. Now, if I was to [7:11] give you one piece of advice, that would [7:14] be get good at SEO. I wouldn't go too [7:16] crazy with the content as long as it's [7:18] not complete dog [ __ ] Get good at SEO, [7:20] get good at tags, get good at video [7:22] ideas, get good at marketing, and then [7:25] you can focus on your video content. If [7:27] you're posting every day and you're [7:29] getting like 20, 30 views per video and [7:31] you're like, "Oh man, I got to make [7:32] better content." You're looking at this [7:34] wrong. Just focus on SEO and CTR first. [7:37] Get people to watch your videos. Make [7:38] dog shake content at first if you have [7:40] to. Now, with practice, you're going to [7:41] get SEO and CTR, right? which means [7:44] you're going to get a higher pool of [7:45] people that watch your videos and that's [7:47] going to lead to a more accurate AVD, [7:49] you know, average view duration. You're [7:51] going to know how long people watch your [7:52] video for. So, from there, you can start [7:54] tweaking your content. But do not go [7:56] based off of 20, 30, even 100 views. Get [7:59] a video that gets like 2,000 3,000 [8:01] views. See what the AVD is. Then it [8:04] would make sense to actually start [8:06] tweaking things. Of course, the more [8:07] views the better. But you got to get [8:08] good at marketing. That's what YouTube [8:10] is. Again, I run over six faceless [8:12] YouTube channels. I've gotten hundreds [8:13] of millions of views. And here's the [8:15] crazy part. I haven't watched a single [8:16] one of my YouTube videos since like [8:18] 2021. I have a lot of big creators, a [8:21] lot of big YouTubers come to me for for [8:22] assistance with their YouTube channels. [8:24] And it's kind of like, wo. That's when [8:25] it kind of clicked. You know, that's it [8:27] goes to show that YouTube just isn't [8:29] content. YouTube is marketing. So, try [8:31] and look at it that way. Now, for those [8:32] of you that want to take YouTube serious [8:34] and you want to learn how I do YouTube, [8:36] you can go ahead and click the link in [8:37] the description of this video or in the [8:39] pin comment and that's going to take you [8:40] to my school community. And here in my [8:42] school community, you get a blueprint [8:43] step by step which shows you from A to Z [8:46] on how to start a YouTube automation [8:47] channel. But where all of the videos are [8:49] are in the tutorial vault. And this is [8:51] 70 videos plus where I go into extreme [8:54] detail about SEO, Photoshop tutorials, [8:56] editing tutorials, and pretty much [8:58] everything that I've learned about [8:59] YouTube since 2018. And matter of fact, [9:01] there was a 2025 Vault update where, as [9:04] you can see, [ __ ] got a little bit more [9:05] advanced. But the best part is that I go [9:07] live two times every single week. And [9:09] this is where I speak with you guys [9:10] directly, answer any questions, review [9:12] your channels, all of that good stuff. [9:14] But for those of you that don't give a [9:15] [ __ ] thanks for watching. I would [9:16] appreciate if you liked and subscribed [9:18] to the channel. But for those of you [9:19] that are actually going to go check it [9:21] out, I'll see you in one of the live [9:22] calls.
