make this video. But I sat here and I wrestled with myself and I finally came to the conclusion that this is just too powerful for me to keep to myself. And one thing Mo'Nique do not do is gatekeep. But let me tell you, it took
me going physically to the lowest place on Earth to be able to pull myself out of the lowest place in my life. I actually went where Jesus was baptized. And so I decided to get baptized as well. And what happened in that water?
I did not leave the same person. So if you watching this video, it is not by coincidence. I'm telling you this is divine. Because I'm about to share with you some of the things that my eyes were open to when I was there. One of the
first things that I realized is that a lot of people are walking around with borrowed faith. And yes, even I did it. Let me tell you how. Because when I was a kid, my mom woke me up early one Sunday morning and we went down to the
church and I was baptized. That was like at four or five years old. So you know I had absolutely no idea what that meant. And my mama was just doing what the church told her to do. And that situation right there is how it
happened for a lot of us. But one thing I can tell you right now is that faith that was handed to you can only get you so far. And that faith is not fake, but it's not truly yours until you choose it. Not your parents, not your church,
not your community. You. But as I was out there in Jordan, something I didn't realize until later was a full circle moment. My parents introduced me to my moment. My parents introduced me to my faith, but years later, I was bringing
them back to the water. [music] And that meant so much to me. Whoo, look y'all. I'm trying not to get emotional today, but listen. I'mma just go wherever today take us. And I'm not here to preach and I know this is not the typical video
that I do, but I have been given an assignment. And the last thing I will ever do is tell God no. So we going to just go with it, all right? But, let me tell you something else that happened that surprised me. When you hear about
some kind of picture in your mind. And I'm telling you the picture that I drew was not what I walked into. The place that Jesus was baptized was not in a wilderness. >> John the Baptist, he lived here in this
from Nazareth. He came from Galilee to Jordan. And then, he spent 40 days and >> So, let's talk about the wilderness for a second. When you are in the >> [music] >> There are no distractions, no noise, and
there is no comfort. Just you and God. And sometimes when you in that and you. Because here's the thing, it never looks like a blessing when you are in it. It starts looking like delay, it starts looking like confusion, it starts
looking like being forgotten. But, what's really going on behind the scenes >> And let me tell you, in order for you to be prepared, you are going to have to be exposed. [music] And that's the hard part. This will have you out here
questioning everything about yourself and sometimes God. And that's something I have done myself. I remember when I was a laying on that table in the hospital when I had lost my child, I was actually bleeding out. And I was
screaming at the top of my lungs asking God, "Where are you?" Asking God, "Do you even love me? Why are you not here? Why are you letting this happen to me?"
y'all. Woo. This is This is some real life stuff. Can't fake this one. Woo, y'all. I just want to be open and I want to always be real with you and let you know you not the only person that has
questions for God sometimes. I'm telling you that wilderness is something else. And also, when you are in the wilderness, it will have you even wilderness, it will have you even reevaluating your entire life and asking
how could God even use me? Why would God even use me? Because guess what? You know good and well the stuff you used to do. The message I got out there [music] do. The message I got out there [music] was that God does not need you or your
life to look perfect and to look polished for him to show up. He never did and he has proved that from the beginning of time. So if he was able to start his ministry in that wilderness, then he can meet you in yours. He can
come into those uncomfortable seasons into the times where you don't feel like when people hear that word ministry, they just think that it's standing behind a pulpit preaching to thousands of people. But a ministry does not have
to be on a stage. It does not have to be in a church building and it does not least it shouldn't. But ministry is also how you live. Sometimes your life is the message. Sometimes the way that you treat people is the sermon. Sometimes
the way that you carry yourself through hard seasons, that is the testimony. The place that you feel like disqualifies you, that's the [music] exact place where God can begin his work through you. All right, y'all. So I'm trying to
gather all of the things [music] that I was able to get out there and it was a whole lot and I'm trying to condense it in this video because I really want to receive. But let me tell you one thing that slapped me in right in my face and
that slapped me in right in my face and jaw. God is not just a God of the past. When I was out there, I got a chance to not just see where Jesus was baptized because a lot of people go there and you can observe it from a distance, but by
the favor of God, I had a chance to actually go beyond the rope because it's a restricted protected area. And I was able to go down those steps, and I was able to go down those steps, and I was able to touch that water.
This was no longer just a Bible story. This was a place that I actually was, This was a place that I actually was, that Jesus also was 2,000 years ago. I was at the same river, and I know a lot of y'all probably looking at that like,
not a fool. Monie, that do not look nothing like a river." Because I know baptized in the river, that's the same thing I thought. wider. But now you see there is no more
because of the dams, where both near the resources of the water. This area is the below this level. sense for y'all. But what this showed me more than anything is that the miracles
that we read about in the Bible, the encounters that we saw that people had with God, those moments were not just meant for those people back then. God is still moving today. He is still speaking. He is still transforming
understand when we read the Bible because I know we may be reading it, but understanding that these are not just Bible stories. >> And he asked, "John the Baptist, where do you stay?" Then John the Baptist
answered, "If you want to know, follow me." Jesus followed him. >> This is his cave, a small place. >> The Bible is living, and the God that we >> The Bible is living, and the God that we saw on those pages is still the same God
that is alive today. The same God that showed up at that river over 2,000 years river when I reached down and touched that water, it's the same God that's
showing up in your life right now if you choose to see and to let him. All right, so there was one more big thing that happened on that day, and I don't want to say it's the biggest because honestly every encounter that I
have with God is just big, okay? But, this is the one I feel like if you don't get nothing else or understand anything else, I need you to grab on a hold to this one. So, I went over to another part of the Jordan River so that I could
having no water and that's about to do it so had to go somewhere else. I was able to change into my nice old white robe, you know we got to put the white on. And again I saw my mom and my dad get baptized and y'all I'm so full just
thinking [music] about that. It was such an amazing thing to witness. And so when I stepped [music] into that water myself and submerged myself in there >> I baptize you now in the name of the
Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, the one and true God. Amen. >> Amen. Something happened that I could not Something happened that I could not fully explain. [music]
>> It was such a pure and beautiful moment. I felt so connected to God >> and everything was praising from the waves in the water to the tree [music]
>> It was at that exact moment that I realized that one of the most powerful things that you can ever do with your life is surrender. And that's sometimes one of the hardest things to do. I know at least for me because we like to walk
around and try to control everything. We always talk about we trust you Lord, we going to give it to you but we walk around, you know, with one eye open if you're moving it. But one thing I realized is that surrendering does not
mean that you are weak. It does not mean that you are giving up. It just means that you are allowing God to take the lead. And for some of us the moment that we stop holding on so tightly and we truly give it to God, that's when
everything changes. >> She will be a testimony to her family, to her friends, and to her generation. >> And when the pastor baptized me, something has shifted in me. >> I pray that from this day on, a new
chapter in her life shall be revealed. Lord, I pray that she would see visions and have dreams, and she would walk in obedience to you. Hallelujah. I release blessings. >> And maybe this video found you today
because God is calling you to that same moment. Not in a river, but in your heart. The moment that you stop trying to do it all on your own and when you surrender your life back to him. Sometimes we feel disconnected in
general and we are looking for a reset and we go to chasing all of these things in life and I realize you will not find it in a boardroom, you won't find it in a business deal. Where it happened for me was in a river. But for you, it can
happen right where you are. In your car, in your bedroom, in your living room. Wherever you are watching this video right now, God can meet you right there. Because the thing about God is he doesn't need a river, he just needs your
